Alastair, Each section of the report (ie. head of the line) is organized internally by generation. I do not think there is a way to turn off those generation numbers in the table of contents. It automatically creates a second level entry for the generations within each of the lines. If I

Thank you for the answer to one of my questions below. Can anyone help me with my other question? i.e. ...how would I install Legacy (or any other program for that matter) in such a way that it will open when I want to use it but not start up every time I start up my computer? Thank you!

I have put Legacy, Adobe Reader, and Irfanview for doing genealogy on my new computer and they all installed icons on my desktop. Doesn't that mean they are running in the background if they are on my desktop? I don't know how to install them so that they only 'appear' when I need to use them

The presence of a desktop shortcut icon does not mean that program is running. It only runs when you double click on that icon to start the program. To see what programs are currently running on your computer click on the following 3 keys simultaneously: Ctrl, Alt, and Del. The Tab
