Bernd, As I have said before, this is not hard. And L8 makes it vary simple. First, decide where you want to save your L8 Family Files. And enter folder path name in Option 6.1 or just leave it at the default folder location. Then open your L7.5 FF from L8. You can use Open File from the File Ri

The easiest thing to do is a) use V7 to open your file and then use File/Save As to make a copy of your file with a different name b) download and install V8 c) open V8 with the copy you made at step a) d) try out V8 using that copy and if you are happy then continue to use the copy you made e) a

Hi Bernie, You can open your L7 Database but you are wise to use the first open which copies the database to the new default folder for Data in Documents/Legacy Family Tree/Data and then converts it. This leaves your Legacy 7 database intact. Note that you can actually put your database anywhere
