Good Morning Margaret,
Was the report you created saved to pdf format?
If so, the Win 10 version of Internet Explorer is called 'Edge',
symbolized by and "E" and has an imbedded pdf reader.
And if you do not have another pdf reader installed, it becomes the
default, thus printing your pdf
Win 10 does use the Edge browser as the default reader of .pdf documents.
However, you can change that default either when installing a different Acrobat
application (I use Acrobat Pro) or later. Occasionally when adding a Win 10
patch I have had that pdf default changed.

Look at the line of connection on the extra "not-related" line? Legacy
should show you who is in that line so you can figure out the answer to
your question. Usually a not-related connection is via marriages to
someone not in your direct line like an in-law or other non-direct line
relative.
Tom,
Again, as this is a public list and has to do with Legacy
output, please do not ask that anyone go private with you. We can all
learn from what is said.
Thank you,

Good Morning,
In the spirit of 'sharing', here are a few suggestions about websites
and information for sharing online and preservation of work.
If you don't want to continue to 'fiddle' with your research and have
reached a point where you consider it as complete as it can be for now,

Our local shop Postal Connections (it's a franchise, so they are
everywhere) can print anything up to 3 ft wide and as long as you want.
I have printed a large chart with them. Be sure to check your local shop
to see the file formats they can deal with. I exported as a PDF and had
no problems.
If you are looking for a tree that looks attractive etc why not contact Ron at

I have no connection with this company, but have read comments from satisfied
customers over several years.

This is useful if your research is NOT complete, as Legacy allows a direct
connection to the FamilySearch

Hi Jean,
I'm doing this work for a customer who does not want to pay a lot but wants
the job done quickly. She won't go for the extra cost of using Genealogy
Printers, but I'll definitely keep the information for future work. Much
appreciated!

Dear Stan,
Now that's one big family! Thanks for the information. It's interesting
that you used the Legacy charting instead of TreeDraw. I also produced the
Legacy chart, which spans several pages, but the customer for whom I'm
doing this work wants the 5 generations, with tons of offspring, on
I created an Ancestor Book Report. I have Windows 10. When I went to
print it, it brought up the "E" for Internet Explorer and took forever to
print, double sided. The report was 167 pages. There was about a 30
second pause between printing 1 page double sided.
My question is why did it bring
I ran the Relationship Calculator for myself and a 3rd cousin. With myself
on the left, the Report shows our Common Ancestors (2nd-gr-grandparents)
and Relationship: 3rd cousin.
However, when I Swap Left and Right (i.e. with myself on the right) there
is a second line, with Common Ancestors "Not
