use his PC for a few days, then found he had it. His and about 40 computers

Sorry Rich, but it seems to have come through as HTML. I’ve changed it to

Ladies Gentlemen:
The thread on GPS For Street Addresses was of interest to me. But it
was hijacked! Someone, especially Support, should have changed the subject
line. I am tired of looking at emails titled GPS that have nothing to do with
GPS.

Sorry, Bob! I'm over 50 myself and don't text on the phone, but I've always
abbreviated in emails. Will try to watch myself here.

David, I have a BS in Chemistry and an MBA. Good grief, I've never seen people
get this personal on this list. Time out!

Thx, Bert. I did try the other searches. Just wondered why the query by
example did not work. Maybe I was missing a setting?

Because in Query by Example you can only search for a date : Before, Equal
or After. There is no button for Contains.

Paula,
Query by example works just fine. If you look for 1958, you will find those
records with a date of 1958 but not 21 Jun 1958. Your choices are equal,
before or after. 21 Jun 1958 is not equal to 1958.
