They should be in order on the Chronology View for the Father if he is
the father of all of them.
It would be a bit confusing on Family View as the children shown may
have never lived together or even visited each other.

The program was designed to show the children of the couple first, then the
children from the other marriages.
If the marriages and children are sorted in order, then the children should
show in order:
Marriage 1 is showing. Then children for marriages 2 and 3 should show in
that order.

It would be convenient for me if I could see the children of 2 families (1
father, 2 mothers) sorted in birth-date order of all children. I use the
small icon on the right side of the Children pane to do this, but this sorts
only the children of each mother, separately.

Look at the screen LFS gives you when you click to download data from
FamilySearch. The default choice is to create an Alt. event but just
under that is the option to REPLACE the existing event.
