[LegacyUG] Photos

2019-11-03 Thread Trevor Good

Hi All.
My situation again relates to printing books. I have four photos in an
individuals file with one chosen as preferred, and when I print a book
where I've chosen to include photos, my book therefore prints the
preferred photo.
My question is:- is there a way I can include the other three photos as
well as the preferred photo in my printing of that book?

[LegacyUG] Duplicates

2020-02-10 Thread Trevor Good

Hi All
Occasionally you end up with a child or children entered twice under one
set of parents, obviously this is an error which needs correcting, so
what is the correct procedure - Delete the second entry or Unlink them
from these parents. I understand if you Delete them, then they will
eventually disappear from your file but what happens to them if you just
Unlink them?

[LegacyUG] Saving Photos

2020-02-03 Thread Trevor Good

Hi All
I obtain a photo from a website which when I first see it, is lying on
it's side, I save it to my Photo Program "Photoshop Elements". From
where I correct the photo and save it to my Album "Genealogy Photos". I
then go into Legacy and upload the photo to the name of the person who
the photo relates to, but when it appears, it is on it's side again, I
rotate the photo until it is correct and then "Save As". All is well
until I "Close" the file containing the Photo when it falls over on it's
side again. Please, what am I doing or not doing?

[LegacyUG] American Places

2020-02-19 Thread Trevor Good

Hi to my American Friends

I'm down here in little New Zealand reading with interest the recent
discussions on American "Cities" "Counties" etc, etc, and the many
versions of how a particular place is named, if some of you are
confused, you can imagine where I'm coming from.
Was wondering if there was a digital record somewhere of all American
place names that one could look up for an accepted place name which I
could use in my Genealogy Research. I have tried Google but just get
more confused.

[LegacyUG] 1935

2020-01-14 Thread Trevor Good

Hi to my American Legacy Genealogists
Down here in little New Zealand, I have a puzzle you might be able to
solve for me.
When comparing some of my relations with Family Search, I quite often
come across a Residential address "Same Place" This is always for 1935.
I would like someone to please explain why this occurs.

[LegacyUG] Documents

Please, what is the best way to add a document to a persons file? It
would be an A4 size and would need to be able to be read in a Book Report

Thanks - Trevor

Re: [LegacyUG] Name List Help Needed

2020-12-12 Thread Trevor Good

Hi Margaret
On a couple of occasions I have fixed a sticky problem by
re-downloading the Legacy Program, this replaces any gliches and just
seems to work, BUT if all else fails (as the saying goes) go to "Legacy
Home" and "Submit a Support Ticket", the experts there have helped me on
many an occasion, you will need to enter some of your license
information, but all is easy really.

Thanks Sherry,
I had done that a couple of weeks ago, but since I had been trying the
guidance given me this a.m., I did it again. It definitely speeded it
up, so thanks for your advice. However, I still have the same issue.

[LegacyUG] Distant Relations

2020-12-18 Thread Trevor Good

Hi all
I have a cousin who from my files I can determine that she is my 11th
cousin, three times removed. She in England and me in NZ
Is there any way of finding a tree that has both of us in it, I have
searched her descendants file and can't find me and I have search my
descendants file and can't find her, is this because she is so distant
or is there another reason?

Help much appreciated.

You need to find your common ANCESTOR. That is the point where your 2
trees are different.

If Legacy has determined that you are related, then all that you need
to do is use Tools / Relationship with you on the left and him on the
right. That will show you the path between you, working upwards from
you to the common ancestor and then down from there to him. Note also
that it can show multiple, different routes, which you can select at
the top, where there are cross links between the lines.

Hello,

I thought I would reach out here first before I contact Legacy tech
support. I am wondering if the Legacy FamilySearch upload function is
broken just for me? Or if it is a bigger issue that I have not
previously paid attention to if it was brought up here on this list?

I can download a person's details just fine, but I cannot add a new
person to FamilySearch via Legacy.

I have tried googling for info; didn't see anything. I also logged out
of FamilySearch and then logged back in with no luck in solving the
issue.

If anyone else has an idea, I am open to suggestions.

Thank you!
