Since it nothing ever happens, people have stopped trying, which is
probably what they wanted to have happen anyway.

We'd all like our pet bugs fixed. I know I have a few.

However, the programmers are not doing nothing.
Current GR release is no 226. Current beta release is 253. Each release
has numbers of fixes to test.

If you have particular problems in mind, you need to contact Support or
send them in so they get entered or updated in the bug tracking, not
report here where they mostly go nowhere.

I use the address of the event for the event and the address of the repository

No, that does not work and gives very odd responses The problem is

Where necessary, usually for baptism, death and marriages, I normally
place the location of the church etc. into the corresponding fields in the
individual or the marriage, and for marriages I also place them into
events for marriage banns and witnesses. This then means that if I enable
it in the reports I will get the (address text) in the report, which I can
 control as required.

My problem is that I have found that I may have missed

2018-07-15 Thread Jill’s Genealogy
Hi Cathy, didn’t Marianne mention she saved a previous version of the file,
with the two wives, with only 2 or 3 additions since then that could be easily
redone? Why not just open the back up file? And then get clear instructions
for deleting or unlinking the 2nd wife? Or is that what you said? It didn’t
sound like it because you are talking about using restore, etc. merging and
duplicates.

Asking because this sounds like something I would easily do!!! (I think I did
early on actually!)

[LegacyUG] Bibliography Override

2018-07-11 Thread Jill’s Genealogy
Hi first Sourcewriter doesn’t have a way to handle Vaccination Certificates
issues by government offices in Prussia 1867.

So I opted to use the same format as Birth Certificate. However the
Bibliography (overridden) for the Master Source does not stay overridden when I
go to add the Source Detail. It goes back to the default Bibliography.

I went to Assigned Sources/Cite a Master Source/Add/ and filled in the blanks
on the Source Info tab. I then went to Override tab and deleted the word birth
and typed vaccination. I checked the box for Use this Customized Bibliography
on reports. And then hit Save.

Back on the Master Source List window, I see the new Source and the
Bibliography (overridden) at the bottom of the window and it looks fine. It
shows Vaccination.

Now if I select the master source that I just created and go to Step 3. Add the
Source Detail, the Bibliography incorrectly shows birth and not vaccination
certificate.

The over ridden Bibliography changes back to the default Bibliography.

Any idea why this happens and how to prevent it?

Also how would you handle a vaccination certificate?

Thanks!

[LegacyUG] Share Event Not Working

2018-01-20 Thread Jill’s Genealogy
Hi I wanted to add the mother’s name to a birth event using Share Event. I’ve
done this dozens of times before and it has always worked. Is there a list of
known errors that Legacy is working on after this latest version was released?
Thanks. Also here is what I did:

I selected:
Add one or more people
Select from the Name List
Entered the surname
Found the mother
Clicked on Select
(And the name won’t get selected any more)
It takes me back to the Share Event screen which is blank, no Name, no Role

Thanks!

[LegacyUG] Try Minimizing Edit Detail Window

2018-01-20 Thread Jill’s Genealogy
Hi I was in Edit Detail from the Assigned Sources Window. I minimized the
Detail Window to switch to another window and obtain a piece of info.

The Detail Window disappeared. The Assigned Sources Window will not Close
(just chimes indicating the Detail Window is open somewhere) and the Assigned
Sources minimize bar is grayed out.

The Legacy Window which can be see behind Assigned Sources is also grayed and
unavailable.

Clicking on Edit Detail icon to restore the Edit Detail window doesn’t work,
although it’s not grayed out.

Moving the Assigned Sources Window to reveal the Edit Detail won’t work either.

If I hover over the Legacy item in the Windows Task Bar, only the main Legacy
Window shows and it’s not available (chime). The other windows don’t show up.

If I right click the task bar, I can cascade, stack or show the windows side by
side. Even though the Legacy windows appear, they can’t be opened.

Within task manage, I can close Legacy, but the file may become corrupted.

How do I get to a screen that functions?

Thanks!

[LegacyUG] Never Mind

2018-01-16 Thread Jill’s Genealogy
Thanks, I closed the small window and alas it was covering printer, text file,
clipboard text, etc options!

[LegacyUG] Info for Website

2018-01-16 Thread Jill’s Genealogy
I generated an Ancestor Book Report. I would like to copy parts of it after I
edit it and publish it on a personal website, crediting Legacy of course. I
see no way to do this using the Ancestor Book Report. It appears that I can
save the information as a PDF or as various image types but not as an editable
document.

Is this correct?

Is there a better way than by using Ancestor Book Report to get all the info,
with the lovely footnotes, etc. into a document I can easily edit before
publishing? I just want a Word document with the same info.

Thanks!
