Re: [LegacyUG] Hello from MyHeritage + 2 unique offers

2017-09-16 Thread Gloria DeSousa
I finally gave in and thought I was adding onto my partner's current
MyHeritage website when I clicked on the link in one of the latest emails
with this offer. It had his name when I clicked the link and as far as I
have time to look, the webpage had only his name where it asked for
payment, nothing else.

Well, I started a subscription under another MyHeritage Web Site that I use
often, but not his, AND it didn't add on to his current subscription - it
has the subscription starting today.

Oh, and if that isn't a nuisance, I can't call MyHeritage on a Saturday,
when I have time and it's convenient for me. I am so frustrated and wish I
had just deleted that email like the many others from Legacy that I
delete!!

Warning to all those falling for this VIP Support.

I'll be away *Friday, September 15 - Sunday, September 24th, 2017*.

Hi Rick,

Ah - that explains it - the offer to existing MyHeritage Subs ended 10
September - it wasn't long after they sent out the offer - I read it carefully
and made sure I responded in time.

Sorry you got caught with having to go the 'long way round'.

I did the same thing - I have been a MyHeritage customer for a few years - I
just called and they gave me the same offer with no new email or new name - as
Vivian said ‘it was easy and they were as nice as pie’.

Secondly, the price lock mention was in the email. It states

"PLUS: Those who subscribe before Sunday night, September 10, will enjoy a
Price-Lock Guarantee. For as long as you keep the subscription, the price will
remain 50% discounted and will never increase in the future. This is a unique

When you click on the link, it brings you to MyHeritage and the last sentence
on the second paragragh says very clearly that the price is locked.

Easy - basic economics.
The reason that My Heritage is making this special offer is to grow
their market. They already have subscribers, who, at least the vast majority,
don't need cossetting to remain. Exisiting customers are unlikely to put
themselves through the difficulty and time of creating new accounts.
The way for My Heritage to make more money is with new customers, not
giving money away via special deals to existing ones.

I love the Collection Catalogue - comprehensive but not overwhelming the way it
is presented - see by type of records or by location etc, number of records and
date they were added / updated.

In Australia we are spoilt with TROVE and the digitised newspapers but combined
with MyHeritage's superior search mechanism I've been getting fabulous results
for my people in country areas - newspapers that aren't on TROVE.

Family Search were so impressed with their the MyHeritage search that they
adopted it - part of the integration between the big sub sites.

AND to top that off, they are one of the very few who show their appreciation
to existing loyal customers - SAME offer for Legacy Users who weren't My
Heritage subscribers ... repeated for existing MyHeritage users - love it! A
bit like a loyalty rewards scheme.

one was giving the deal to existing users. That might be why some people are
saying they can't get the deal.

He then said he'd check with his manager. After a long wait he came back saying
he was able to do it. He apologized profusely and was able to get it
accomplished.

So just be warned that all of the reps may not know yet. So if at first you
don't succeed try, try, again.

Here is the latest from Geoff. The email with the offer was sent from Legacy
News <n...@legacyfamilytreenews.com<mailto:n...@legacyfamilytreenews.com>>. It
just now arrived in my Inbox.

Geoff recommends emailing, but I found it much easier to call and explain. I
also got a refund for the unused months of my Data and Site subscriptions.

Two Unique Offers for Legacy Users - Last Chance

Dear Legacy user,

Thousands of our users have already taken the 2 special offers by MyHeritage,
given exclusively to Legacy users and webinar viewers. Due to high demand, we
have extended the deadline of these offers, which are now valid through Monday
night, September 18. This is your last chance to enjoy the offers.

Offer 1: Get a MyHeritage Complete Plan at 50% off

50% off of the MyHeritage Complete Plan. PLUS: A Price-Lock Guarantee. The
discounted price of $125/year will remain the same and will never increase in
the future (as long as you keep your subscription active)! Since you are
already a MyHeritage subscriber, to add an extra year of this plan at 50% off
and secure the valuable Price Lock Guarantee, please follow these steps:

- Send an email to
legacy...@myheritage.com<mailto:legacy...@myheritage.com?subject=Legacy%20offer>
- include the email address you use to login to MyHeritage
- include your phone number

and a MyHeritage team member will give you a quick call to arrange the
transaction with the Price Lock Guarantee. They'll also give you a deduction of
the unused amount of your current subscription. Because there are different
memberships that you might have (Premium, PremiumPlus, Data, Complete) we
aren't able to send one blanket email to everyone AND ensure that everyone's
special pricing would be correct.

See - I told you that you would love this!

Just be sure that you do send the email before Monday night, September 18 to
secure the discounted offer. This is a unique offer that MyHeritage is giving
only to Legacy users and webinar viewers.

This Complete Plan offer includes everything MyHeritage has to offer:
PremiumPlus family site with unlimited tree size, powerful matching to other
family trees and historical records, and full search access to their collection
of more than 8.1 billion historical records. This also provides full access to
all the Record Matches and Smart Matches that appear in your Legacy 9 software.
All this for just $125 – that’s 50% off the public price.

Offer 2: MyHeritage DNA Kit - Only $59 $99

- Click
HERE<http://legacynews.legacyfamilytree.com/campaigns/qa4576nqygefd/track-url/ja656m9ckdff1/36f19f422c73e788e437e8b64026a4b1fd044b55>
 to purchase your DNA kit(s)

- IMPORTANT: At Checkout, under “Total,” click “Got a coupon code?” and enter
the coupon code LEGACYDNA. This is the only way to enjoy the special discount.

Both offers are given at the lowest price ever offered by MyHeritage,
exclusively to our Legacy users and webinar viewers. Hurry, these offers expire
on Monday night, September 18.

MyHeritage have added a catalogue search to their site. You may be able
to use that to find if they have records/collections of interest to you.

few years - I just called and they gave me the same offer with no
new email or new name - as Vivian said ‘it was easy and they were
as nice as pie’.

Secondly, the price lock mention was in the email. It states

"PLUS: Those who subscribe before Sunday night, September 10,
will enjoy a *Price-Lock Guarantee*. For as long as you keep the
subscription, the price will remain 50% discounted and will
never increase in the future. This is a unique offer that
MyHeritage is giving *only* to Legacy users and webinar viewers."

When you click on the link, it brings you to MyHeritage and the
last sentence on the second paragragh says very clearly that the
price is locked.

Easy - basic economics.

The reason that My Heritage is making this special offer is
to grow their market. They already have subscribers, who, at
least the vast majority, don't need cossetting to remain.
Exisiting customers are unlikely to put themselves through
the difficulty and time of creating new accounts.

The way for My Heritage to make more money is with new
customers, not giving money away via special deals to
existing ones.

Hi Marion,

It's such a shame that your conversations have been 'far from fruitful'. You
said 'in the past' - have you tried more recently.

I can only say that I'm impressed with My Heritage and their purchase of
LegacyFamilyTree. I have been a user of both for many years and really can't
complain.

When the special deal for NEW My Heritage users for both their data as well as
their DNA offers was made, I took it for granted that as an existing user this
offer wasn't for m. As one member mentioned, they rang and got satisfactory
results.

I was on the verge of following that advice but perhaps My Heritage experienced
a number of similar calls as they reacted - I received an email as a My
Heritage user with the same offers and instructions on how to get that offer. I
replied by the deadline and have the 50% discount with the PRICE LOCK GUARANTEE.

I can't complain!

purchase contract - there is a difference

I did the same thing - I have been a MyHeritage customer for a few years - I
just called and they gave me the same offer with no new email or new name - as
Vivian said ‘it was easy and they were as nice as pie’.

following right on the offer site!!!

Re: [LegacyUG] Hello from MyHeritage + 2 unique offers

2017-09-11 Thread Vivian Gullickson White
I don't know why people ASSUME that they can't get the deal because they
already have a subscription. I called and asked and got it. I didn't have
to sign up with a new name, or cancel, or anything. It was easy and they
were nice as pie.

Secondly, the price lock mention was in the email. It states

"PLUS: Those who subscribe before Sunday night, September 10, will
enjoy a *Price-Lock
Guarantee*. For as long as you keep the subscription, the price will remain
50% discounted and will never increase in the future. This is a unique
offer that MyHeritage is giving *only* to Legacy users and webinar viewers."

When you click on the link, it brings you to MyHeritage and the last
sentence on the second paragragh says very clearly that the price is
locked.

The reason that My Heritage is making this special offer is to grow their
