I rebuilt with the cc_cv_LDFLAGS__Wl__fuse_ld_gold=no setting applied
to the config.cache and this fixed the build.
Later on, I'll test a rebuild without any CFLAGS but with gold linking
to iron out if my cflags are at fault.

The Linux From Scratch community announces the release of LFS Version
8.1-rc1. It is a preliminary release of LFS-8.1.
Major changes include toolchain updates to glibc-2.25, binutils-2.29, and
