[Libreoffice] Fewer datasources for AddressBook wizard functionality on MacOSX ?
Hi, Could anyone indicate to me the rationale for not providing as many datasource choices for the AddressBook wizard on Mac OSX when compared to the other OSes ? On Mac : NeoOffice offers 13 possibilities. LibreOffice only 10. The difference : LDAP, Thunderbird address book, Mozilla address book. Mac OSX server (which I happen to have in my work environment) provides LDAP as a native service. Thunderbird, love it or hate it, is probably the most ubiquitous mail client after Mail.app. So where is the rationale for not providing these ? When it was OOo, a decision was made to chop them out of Mac OSX. The Linux distros kept providing them, as indeed does the current Windows build of LibreOffice I believe. So why is Mac left out in the lurch ? Is there some kind of build problem associated with providing access to them ? I'm just curious as to why, when we endeavour to provide as broad a support as possible on the other platforms for this address book feature, we still have it crippled on Mac OSX ? It makes some sense. If people have spent their time downloading and installing a custom Linux build instead of their native system one, then - why not prompt them to do the same again for updates ? :-) So - I don't mind, but it might make sense. Hi Marco, Marco píše v Po 13. 06. 2011 v 00:33 +0200: == 1 == Any svg document created by exporting an Impress presentation is navigable through the mouse and the keyboard. == 2 == It is possible to export any subset of slides from an Impress presentation. To do that you have to switch to the Slide Sorter view and select the slides you want to export. The selection from the Impress Left Pane is not (yet) supported. At present if no slide is selected the whole presentation is exported. Very nice! :-) I attached a patch set based on the libreoffice-3-4-0 tag that includes both enhancements. Just a very minor issue with your patch - I see that you use tabs in some of the new code; please don't ;-) Use spaces instead (and configure your editor to default to that too), we had trouble with tabs in the past, so we agreed to use spaces only in the new code. Having said that - I like your code :-) - and I am looking forward to seeing it in master. P.S.: Is there a way to create a single patch file ? There is, but I think it is better to keep separate fixes as separate patches (and consequently separate commits). Should you need that nevertheless, it is git rebase -i; have a look at man git-rebase, and search for the interactive rebase. Hi, Kohei Yoshida píše v Út 14. 06. 2011 v 14:06 -0400: I would like to cherry-pick the following commit on master http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/calc/commit/?id=478533a86b29341e00128fb6eda8237dfb9cf3cf to the -3-4 branch (and -3-4-1 if it makes sense). There is no bug report associated with this (yet), but this accidentally changes the behavior of ScMatrix pre- and post-refactoring. When GetString() is called on an empty element, the old code would return an empty string, but the new code sets an error instead. I made this change, and this change was unintentional. GetString() should still return an empty string when called on an empty element. Review sign-off appreciated. They are quite interested and motivated to help us do this. The date would be Friday September 9th, this day is mostly used at this event for hand-on training and certification testing. As this point the show organizers are waiting to here from us regarding our interest in putting this together. Before pursuing this with them and either waisting everyones time or setting up one big FAIL I would like to see if there is interest from other community members, particularly developers, willing to help. Let me know - sooner is much better then later on this. Hello Again, Well, I suppose there is something that I need to say to you folks - and I am talking directly the developer crew. I put my name on the apache project earlier commiter list - yes I did. If you want to know why feel free to ask me on list. But folks I'm a fairly simple guy, I don't do 'circles in circles, or have hidden agendas. The idea for this project pre-dates anything to do with Apache, it is about and for LibreOffice, period - full stop. The idea is to help expand the base of people contributing to our project - period. I can not do it however without active support from you, the developers - there are some things I can help with but actually helping make sense of the code isn't one of them, not in this time frame. Right now there is a window of opportunity with the organizers a OLF and the organizers of SELF have said they will be watching with a possibility of doing this next year in South Carolina. Today I received word that the organizers of NWLF (North West Linux Fest) will also be watching and interest in this type of event also. In other words there is a reasonable chance to turn this into something that can get legs and maybe do it every 2 months across the USA next year. Sure - so, as I understand it, the server is notified of the client version, so we can build whatever matrix we like of recommended upgrades (or none at all), based on the version they are using. That seems flexible enough for what we want - and of course, we can decide that matrix with some considerable thought later. Indeed, above the already mentioned problem, we have the challenge to make sure that the right user does find the right version for her situation. Of course - and we also have the existing challenge that people are not updated, and are running old LibreOffice's with plenty of known bugs fixed in them. ie. if we care about quality we want people to update through release series .0 - .1 - .2 etc. Clearly sysadmins need to be able to turn this off, as no doubt we'll do for the SUSE, RedHat, Ubuntu etc. versions - but that is not a huge issue. In user space, this means as if a new product landed, with noise on icons associations, double entries of LO in Start Menu, bla bla bla. In enterprise space, a bunch of disgruntled sysadmins to wipe old version. This old update scheme may cause a bunch of headaches. [Libreoffice] [PATCH] Additional fix for bug fdo#33781
Hi, here is a small patch for sw that fixes another issue related to bug 33781 that I already fixed last month. The problem is that a graphic object of type Draw 8 is not anti-aliased when anchored as char (see test file for example). IMHO, this patch is safe and acts exactly the same as the previous fix for bug 33781. Should be nice if it could be commited to the 3-4 branch and / or 3-4-1 branch. Drew, I appreciate your position and your moderate, thoughtful questions and responses all across the several boards I have seen them on. I am still attracted to Apache and their OO project, but I finally balked on the proposal so clearly NOT written by a community or its representatives. I'm rather sorry about the whole 'punish me' line in my earlier email - but a couple of days after I put my name on the ASF wiki someone in India went to my facebook wall and started a survey titled 'Drew should be kiled' yes/no. I blew it off with a joke response and FB was kind enough to remove the survey entry - followed by a few emails over the next couple of days with suggestions ranging from taking a long walk of a short pier to one request to perform an act which quite frankly I don't think is physically possible.
