In gentoo there is the option to compile cairo with xlib-xcb use flag (Use XCB renderer backend for acceleration over xlib) and I activated it for some reason thatI can't recall right now. With this flag turned on, libreoffice shows the bug reported here (and, btw, this breaks virtmanager also). Turning off this flag, as is standard for other distros, the bug disappear. I don't know if this is an issue completely on cairo side or some wrong interaction with libreoffice, however compiling cairo without --enable-xlib-xcb solves this issue. This doesn't appear to be the case with LibO 5.05. This is actually quite annoying, as it prevents copy/pasting to a number of other X11 application that don't use the Gnome (or other environment) clipboard. I haven't seen any other report about this here, which is surprising, but I have noticed it on two separate ArchLinux amd64 machines. As a matter of fact, it also doesn't work for the version information from the about box ). Here it goes. Saving your PowerPoint with this option creates a new presentation, wherein all slides have been transformed to pictures. The presentation contains all the slides and has the pptx extension (note the difference with exporting your presentation as images!). This is a really usefull feature in interoperability cases, because it's a nice way to keep your presentation as is, without any formating issues if you port it to another computer. Shouldn’t it be „~/Library/Application Support/LibreOffice/4/user/template“ as shown in Preferences? (OpenOffice 4.1.1 shows the complete path.) (c) When editing and testing templates I managed to produce at least 3 crashes without being able to remember what steps I performed before the crash. Because of this I can’t reproduce the crashes. My impression is: These crashes are sporadic. (d) The directory „~/Library/Application Support/LibreOffice/4/user/temp“ now contains 339 objects totaling to 269.4 MB of data. Is this the consequence of all the crashes? Shouldn’t LibreOffice cleanup this mess? LO - MSO interoperability test
Hi, this is my first post to this ML :) At the Milano conference I've presented my tools for interoperability testing (http://conference.libreoffice.org/talks/2013/content/sessions/009/files/2013-Milano-Sramek.pdf) . Being influenced by Adam Fyne's talks I've modified them to roundtrip tests and have used the set of documents he has collected. You can find the results with description here: https://copy.com/CZ3WBWtpe7jmQeQp (use LO 4.4.0.0 to 4.4.1.0 to open the spreadsheet - see https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92773). The tools comprise of a few python and bash scripts and should be run on Linux and Windows machines. The current tests are focused on LO interoperability with MSO on the basis of docx documents (roundtrip and print tests). I can, however, implement also other test (e.g. MSO or Google docs vs. LO on the basis of ODT, doc, docx, rtf and other files). In fact any office software can be used, if it has a commad line interface for file conversion. The software is of course open, I just I not distribute it, since it requires quite complex setup to work with (several computers with LO and MSO installations). You can get it, if you want. If you find this interesting, I can in future run the test for new releases or simplify it to be used by a developer to compare files during the develoment process. Or, maybe, we can set up a web service doing this automatically (processing of all files takes about one day). Asked them if they would be interested in uploading to github, their related code that handles market data for Microsoft excel.. so that LibreOffice developers could port it over.
