https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125241 --- Comment #2 from tommy27 --- my list is an italian auto-correct list. the hang happens when loading the italian list. since the table loads the latest used language, I suppose that in your case it loads the Dutch language at first (which is succesfull) then it hangs while trying to load the italian one from the language menu. try removing that large italian list and use the default italian autocorrect subset. then replace the default with my list and try to releoad the replacement table. in that case it will try to load at first the italian which is the last loaded list and the hang will appear -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 102950] Format All Comments is not persistent for new comments
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=102950 --- Comment #6 from QA Administrators --- Dear capung, To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. [Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 122696] Page settings missing a few paper sizes
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122696 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added Blocks||99525 CC||vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- Comment #7 from V Stuart Foote --- Hmm, looking at the vast mix of standards based and extended paper specifications [1] that could require internal LO support shows our current droplist of 31 entries is really inadequate. But then as currently positioned--LibreOffice project scope is really not in the DTP arena. Especially since we can not produce proper Bleed and Printers marks [2], and our VCL canvas layout is limited to what ODF can support. How relevant really are the majority of the larger paper sizes: 4A0, 2A0, A0, A1 even A2; or the corresponding C or B series sizes in those ranges. Likewise the larger DIN 476-1/476-2, SIS, JIS or American ANSI E, D, or C sizes? When even being able to print most requires access to large format plotter or offset press--specialized equipment that is out of scope for our office project! In fact having no DTP capability for Bleeds, Slugs and Cut lines currently eliminates _any_ utility to supporting the oversize "raw" ISO 217 RA & RSA page sizes. The extra "raw" size intended only to be trimmed away. The smaller sizes are equally questionable--most can not be handled in personal or home office printers. Why would we support those page layout formats at the expense of a cluttered UI? So I agree there is room to fix content of the drop listing for reasonably useful paper sizes--especially where we have gaps in localized support. And it looks like some of the envelope sizes are suspect (e.g. ISO 269 is "withdrawn") yet we list those envelop sizes available? M But while LO continues to be lacking DTP support, project should not feel obliged to support what are essentially "exotic" page sizes. The existing drop list UI is functional. But if a dev is motivated to pick up Jonathan's rework it looks feasible in general, but short of that nothing to be gained. It is also possible, to make a document which has a different footer on the first page and different ones on all even pages and just a third different footer on all odd pages. Unfortunately I have no access to the definition of the odt format, but obviously it is capable to host that type of information and possibly even more things for headers and footers (presumably they are both incarnations of almost the same thing, the only difference being that one is arranged on the top of the page and the other one close to the end). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125024] Impress corrupts presentations being stored
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125024 --- Comment #4 from Kim Mongan --- You say that this bug report should be issued based. I thought that is what this is. The issue is that a presentation is getting stored improperly. For example, when the presentation is stored in PPTX format the background of a slide may become entirely different. Or the slide with a video is completly empty, not even a place holder for the video. As already mentioned, each release seems to bring new problems. I have been using the product for years, recently the only format I could use was PPT. Storing in ODP Format corrupted my presentation - I had to redo it and store it in PPT format. The release I am working with now is correctly stored in ODP format, but storing it in PPT or PPTX corrupts it. Why PPT or PPTX - because many people use Powerpoint and at least Powerpoint Viewer, and most do not have the ODP patch. So, please write exact steps to reproduce with source ODT attachment 151062 [details]. The steps are already listed below and presentations have been provided. I just did a test again. Created a presentation with a slide with text and a background (water picture), a second slide with a video. Nothing more. ODP - everything was fine. 32.330 KB PPT - the text was fine, but just a video place holder and no video stored. 324 KB PPTX - the text was present, but shadow was gone, not even a video place holder was present. 39 KB Is this different from Bug 125023? Yes. And confirm you searched for existing bugs before reporting. I do not know where to start to look. Also, this problem has been around for years so it does not seem to be adressed. A simple test like above shows that Libre Office is not storing documents properly, worse yet, no error messages occur or indication that something is wrong. Users store there presentations, often hours of work, expecting to be able to use them. After storing and then calling them up again they find their work corrupted at the least. This is a major issue about the usability and reliability of the product. This tabbed interface itself looks very cramped. Maybe it would be a nice visual improvement to give the tabs more space? For example the word "Alignment" inside the Alignment tab is pracically tied to the tab on it's left. The tabs are also very small compared to the other boxes.. On the right side of the tabs there's some space left, so this leaves some room to make the tabs bigger and visually more appealing. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100165] Calc: Resizing of a special image nearly freezes whole system on Linux
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100165 --- Comment #9 from bugreporte...@gmail.com --- We can confirm this bug on two different systems. Both are running very recently updated Arch Linux. System 1: workstation, 64 GB ram libreoffice-still 6.1.6-1 Linux 5.0.13-arch1-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun May 5 18:05:41 UTC 2019 x86_64 GNU/Linux System 2: Thinkpad laptop, 16 GB ram libreoffice-still 6.1.5-5 Linux 5.0.13-arch1-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun May 5 18:05:41 UTC 2019 x86_64 GNU/Linux Reproducibility: 100% The steps to reproduce are the same as OP. Resizing a PNG or JPG image by dragging image handles results in instant system freeze. On single CPU laptop, the only way to recover is to restart the whole system. On multi-CPU workstation, we can kill soffice.bin. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125023] Impress videos start with sound, but with out picture. Starting Presentation again with that foil runs correctly.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125023 --- Comment #3 from Kim Mongan --- I downloaded the example, the video starts on the 5th slide. If I load the presentation, klick on show from the beginning, when I get to the slide 5 which sould show the video I get the slide (the German Version says that they are Foils, like for an overhead show) that looks like the slide in the list of slides on the left side - it shows the blue piece of film - the place holder for the video. The Music from the Video plays, but the place holder remains. If I start it a second time, or from the present slide (slide 5) the video will play with sound and picture. If I start the presentation from the beginning and the first slide is highlighted (current slide) and klick through the slides the Video Picture will not start. If I restart again from the beginning and now the current slide is 5, the video slide, then when I get to the video the picture will be shown. Or if I start again with slide 5 being the current slide and start from current slide - it will work then too. If I place the 1st slide as current slide and start from the first slide again the video picture will not appear. [Libreoffice-ux-advise] [Bug 122696] Page settings missing a few paper sizes
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122696 --- Comment #5 from jonathon --- I'm going to make a radical proposal here. I don't know how difficult it would be to implement this solution. The primary virtue is that it provides users the ability to add groups of paper sizes that they use, whilst keeping the number of sizes down to the minimum necessary for users. It is a three part solution: a) Replace "Styles and Formatting > Page Styles >Page >Format" with ""Styles and Formatting > Page Styles >Page >Standard" This presents a drop down list of page size groups, that can be edited, deleted, added to, or otherwise modified by the user. Standard groups to be included are: * ISO A sizes; * ISO B sizes; * ISO C sizes; * Customary Japanese sizes; * Customary US sizes; * Imperial British sizes; * User; Users have the ability to add additional groups here. Upon selecting a group, the drop menu lists the appropriate paper sizes. The User group contains one page size --- "user", whose attributes, including name and group, must be defined by the user. b) Page "User" This page is basically the same as the current format "User". The major differences are that: * The user must select a group for the page; * The user must give the page a name; * The page attributes are saved and reusable elsewhere; c) Write an extension for the "missing" groups of page styles. For this specific issue, that would be the RA & SRA series of page sizes. For a11y organisations, that would be Braille Paper sizes, or Moon Page sizes. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-ux-advise mailing list Libreoffice-ux-advise@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-ux-advise

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 125234] qt5: exported PDf file misses embedded fonts with vcl=qt5
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125234 --- Comment #6 from Jan-Marek Glogowski --- So we talked about "this" on ESC today, and I'll just quote the minutes here: * Just a reminder regarding kde5 plugin in still (Jan-Marek) + the qt5 plugin is currently not using cairo and it’s font handling is not really existing. + if we keep kde5, should we switch qt5 to cairo too, so that people have the same “quality”? + we get bug reports for qt5, even if its never automatically selected, like https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125234 + Is that considered a problem for anyone or “if it hurts, don’t do it” ? + what do you prefer ? (Michael) + not sure – user has to select it themselves (Jmux) + happy to get bug reports, but reply to bugs is not helpful. + if switch to cairo automatically – has same quality / fixes + if this comes to still – and people non-automatically select it + years ago Kendy made effort to switch VCL from inside the app (Heiko) + at beginning of coding process – not clear that’s there. + easy to switch from one to the other to cope with issues. + talking wrt. Still – but won’t happen here (Jmux) + any downside to qt5 + cairo ? (Xisco) + not sure if there is any downside (Jmux) + plus is that Qt5 would be usable for users. + any objections to using Cairo for Qt5 ? (Michael) + can we make it more obvious it’s experimental? (Thorsten) + not accommodating random users who did odd things they found on the net. + if there is a plan to improve that over time. + fine – how can we make this experimental ? (Jmux) + for help/about can write Qt5Experimental + had similar thing in the past for gtk3 (Miklos) + just ignore it unless its experimental. + i.e. bail out the vcl plug if not experimental mode is on officecfg::Office::Common::Misc::ExperimentalMode::get() + any objections to making it experimental ? => will make it experimental. So you'll still be able to use it, but have to enable experimental. If some LxQt person is interested in some auto-loading, this can be revised to my original suggestion. FWIW the gtk3_kde5 plugin is "now" also forcefully linked to KIO to prevent bug 124598, even if the library just uses the file picker through an external helper program (like Firefox does). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
