Please follow this steps for two-side printing:
- Choose Format > Page Style (or using hotkey Shift + Alt + P),
- Then in Page tab, in Layout Settings, pick Page Layout "Mirrored".
- From this point, Left/Right margins become Inner/Outer margins that you can
adjust for two-side printing.

This only seems to happen if there is not another comment in Col A; and for the
first time I do this.
When I delete the comment in Row 4, the icon in toolbar remains greyed, need to
select another cell, then return to Cell A4 to create new comment

If I try to add a comment when I am seeing Col A,D (B, C hidden) comment is not
visible, if I move scrollbar back so that cols B, C reappear, then it becomes
visible.

Dear Sergey Kozyr,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';

Dear Richard,

Bug ID: 156485
Summary: FORMATTING: gutter margin of both side paper does not
exist
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: trivial
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dai_likes_su...@yahoo.co.jp

When I print documents that I created, I always print out the both side of
papers. So I would like to leave Gutter Margins each side each page.
Please prepare the "Both Side" button in "Gutter position".
If already there is a solution of the problem, please tell me.

Because my English is poor, I can not explain it correctly.

It wasn't merged when I sent my e-mail. After I sent my e-mail, Khaled
reviewed it and gave the libreoffice-7-6 Gerrit change the required +1.

Thank you Khaled!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 156424] Copy/paste of a row with images results in a copy with copied images positioned incorrectly

I am resetting this from FIXED to NEW, for more than one reason.

Setting this to FIXED is inadequate, as there is no commit/patch that is known
to solve it. At most, it would be WFM.

Additionally, if indeed this is a problem in a current version (such as 7.5
ATM), and it happens to work correctly in a development version that will only
be available as stable in about 6 or 7 months, it could mean several
(unnecessary) reports might get filed in the following months. Leaving this
report opened as NEW would help users in their searches (not so much when it is
set as resolved).

Moreover, there is a chance that, leaving this open for now, someone might find
what exactly makes this work correctly in LO 24.2 (which I have not tested
myself), thus allowing the possibility to cherry-pick or back-port such patch
to LO 7.5 (or 7.6, which is not yet released as stable ATM).

This report might eventually be closed as resolved, either by committing a
patch to 7.5, 7.6, or when those versions are no longer supported.

Hi Jim,

Thank you for this.

So - first I was able replicate the behavior in the top version below.

However, in the bottom version below, which is a developer version I downloaded
a few hours ago, the copy/paste issue works without a problem.

That's why I marked it resolved/fixed - even though for sure it is not in the
stable version I have.

For reference, I'm pretty new to QA here, so if you feel (or know) this is
wrong procedure - please just drop a comment and I can update this.

As for your question about images generally - the libreoffice term is
'anchoring' - and you can right click a cell then go to 'anchoring' for
different options.

Here's the Image Anchor help page - I know it's been a topic getting some work
because I qa'd an issue around image resizing recently as well.

Hi Elmar,

I am marking this Resolved: Notabug.

At first my thought was like Rafael's in that it was not reproducing - but then
I:
1)manually made the Format Cells dialogue box really long;

2) closed the dialogue box; and

3) reopened the dialogue box.

The manual size increase persisted through open and close and open again - so
my only guess is that's what happened.

If you try to make the dialogue box normal size using the manual size controls
and the issue persists please come back perhaps with more information and I'll
check it out.

Thank you!

Hi LeroyG,

First I've confirmed this bug so marking it New.

I also searched for duplicates and found plenty of references to bugs around
the Freeze rows/columns command but nobody has pointed this out.

It's interesting - to this day excel has a bug such that opening a second
window viewing the same spreadsheet disables freeze rows/columns. But that
works for calc!

This is different and I know how annoying this issue is so bug for sure.

One last point for any secondary reviewers or developers - the help page for
this command (below) is ok but limited. I could not find any reference to what
is supposed to happen to freeze rows/columns when duplicating sheets, copying
to new sheets, etc.

How to write tender proposals

2023-07-26 Thread Regina Henschel

Hi all,

it has been discussed that the proposals for tenders need to be detailed
enough for other developers to estimate the effort.

I have started a new section "Transition to ODF 1.4" on
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/Budget2024.

Please have a look, whether these descriptions are OK or what I need to
change or add.

Kind regards,
Regina

Good, the wizard is set, however the database is saved as an hsqldb base, this
comes from the method getEmbeddedDatabase() line 290 in
libreoffice/dbaccess/source/core/misc/dsntypes.cxx.
I'm afraid that it miss the url as a parameter to this function and I don't
know where it is called from.

tdf#149888 Make F1 work in Math initial state

Currently, when Math is opened and F1 is pressed in its initial state, no
help page is opened. This is caused by the GrabFocus call in
InitialFocusTimerHdl (see comments in its implementation).

This patch ensures that pressing F1 both in the Edit and Graphics windows
will open the main help page of the Math module.

NOTE: This patch will only work after the related patch in helpcontent2
gets accepted, since it is responsible for creating the HID target in the XHP
file.

I think you're right, it's all there. And apparently only sdbc:embedded:hsqldb
and sdbc:embedded:firebird are taken into account..

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 156482] New: After enabling "Ignore double spaces" autocorrect option, it can't be disabled again

2023-07-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156482

Bug ID: 156482
Summary: After enabling "Ignore double spaces" autocorrect
option, it can't be disabled again
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.6.0.0 alpha1+
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: bisected, regression
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com
CC: baole.f...@gmail.com

Since commit a772976f047882918d5386a3ef9226c4aa2aa118, when you enable "Ignore
double spaces" under Tools->AutoCorrect->AutoCorrect Options once, you can't
disable it again permanently. It gets disabled for the current session, but
gets re-enabled after the program restart.
