 LibreOffice 4.3.1.2. (Build ID: 430m0(Build:2).

I do not know if it is a Mendeley or a LibreOffice problem.
I report this to both parties.
 Hi jkis17,
Looks like Mendeley 1.12.1 is the latest version available. I believe that
Mendeley usually suggest that people update to the latest version of
LibreOffice, so please try updating to our just-released LibreOffice 4.3.2 and
see if that fixes your problems.

Generally speaking, we cover the code that we write, and let extension authors
cover the code that they write. If you have further issues with the Mendeley
extension, please check with their support team.

-- Resolving as 'Not our bug'.

(If the Mendeley authors think that the bug is actually in our code, we'd be
quite happy to get a bug report)

 Good luck!

That's right. David's commit begin with:

fdo#80650 src transl. merge must be case sensitive
This makes the desired changes in
workdir/SrsPartMergeTarget/starmath/source/symbol.src. The only other merged
file that is changed is
workdir/SrsPartMergeTarget/sw/source/ui/misc/numberingtypelistbox.src, with
changes like  1, 2, 3, ... ; 4/*SVX_NUM_ARABIC -  a, b, c, ... ;
0/*SVX_NUM_CHARS_UPPER_LETTER */;  ; +  A, B, C, ... ;
0/*SVX_NUM_CHARS_UPPER_LETTER */;  ;  a, b, c, ... ;
1/*SVX_NUM_CHARS_LOWER_LETTER */; ; This looks okay to me too :-)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84357] New: EDITING: Polygon objects are not able to manage text anymore

2014-09-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 84357

Summary: EDITING: Polygon objects are not able to manage text

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: silva...@katamail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.3.2.2 release
 Component: Drawing
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 106903
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=106903action=edit
A draw file containing two text-filled polygon objects

Problem description: In OpenOffice draw module (4.1.1), as in all previous
version, you can use a polygon object to obtain to create a text that fill an
arbitrary shape, and it is then easy to modify the polygon shape with the text
that adapts to it dinamically. In LibreOffice 4.3.2 this is not working
anymore: the same polygon object filled with text looks completely empty at
first, however the text is there because if you double click on the object,
then press crtl+A to select all then copy and paste in a text doc, you get the
hidden text.
I have many files created with OO draw in the past with a large use of polygon
objects to manage text in flexible shapes, and they are completely unusable now
with LO.
I am not sure since which release of LO this regression is present, since I
have not used these files in the last year.

Steps to reproduce:
1. open the attached file in Openoffice, any release (or older LO releases,
results may vary with these). The page contains two polygon objects filled
with text that adapts to the polygon shape. The only difference is that the
right one does not have a background nor a contour line. Text is visible, try
editing the polygon points and see the text adapting to the changes.
2. Now open the same file with LO 4.3.2; you see no text at all, and the object
on the right is invisible since it should show only the contained text. If you
edit the polygon shapes, nothing happens to the text that remains invisible.
3. you can also create a new polygon and insert some text (a few paragraphs),
which at first will be visible but exceed the polygon shape; when you set it to
adapt to the contour, the text disappears.
Besides the problems with already existing files that are unusable (fortunately
they are not corrupted, if you save them with LO and then reopen them with OO
the text is there), I could not find another way to obtain the same results
without using polygon objects in Draw.

We recently fell over a unit-test problem where (on Windows) we had a rather
long running task holding the SolarMutex while the timer thread was trying to
emit events.

We have a unit test harness in: vcl/qa/cppunit/timer.cxx

It would be good to:

a) enable this test for Windows (cf. Module_vcl.mk)
b) add a new test with a new thread whose job is just to take the SolarMutex
for a while (say 250ms) and then release it that we spawn before running a high
volume AutoTimer test (say 1ms) =)

Hopefully that would catch the queue filling / starvation issue that kendy just
fixed on master. Even more ideally we should try to simulate some user input
events and ensure that they get through too I think.

--- Comment #7 from Caolán McNamara caol...@redhat.com ---
It appears to be an unexpected exception. We build release versions under Linux
with non enforcing exceptions, but debug versions with enforcing exceptions.
Mac is built with clang which always enforces exception specifications. Which
would explain why 4.3.1 on Mac falls over, but release build 4.3.1 on Debian
doesn't. A self-build 4.3.1 dbgutil on Debian probably falls over in the same
place.

Feature request.

Allow user create custom locale per system and per document.

Use custom locales same way as predefined locales.

Add special locale current locale (or glibc locale) to use user selected
locale specified by environment variables LC_ALL, LC_MONETARY and other LC_*.

Rationale. Currently there is no way to change for example currency symbol or
number group separator. In some cases country specific locales not desired, for
example, design.

in cases like yours where the issue is fixed by resetting the user profile we
usually use the status WORKSFORME.

@sarutat : please check the other OTF/font issues affecting Mac versions of LO
via bugzilla, this one might well be a duplicate.

As for using NeoOffice code, it would have to be LGPL3/MPL in order to be
acceptable for the LO codebase - if it is just GPL, it won't be accepted.

 Thanks for the link.
Can you see in Bug 82476 - Crash in presentation with 3D animated model.
Under Windws 7 Home Prmeium, insertion works.

The feature will only be available in 4.4 for Mac. We still need to fix a few
problems around the Mac OpenGL support.

A back trace would help here.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72755] LibreOffice refuses to start without exec rights on ~ and /tmp

(In reply to comment #9)
If (1) or (2) fails when trying $HOME, it will apparently not try again with
/tmp, but just use a plain (read, write, non-exec) allocation.

Sorry, I misread our code. In fact, it does create a read/write/exec
allocation, or indicate failure if that is denied.

(In reply to comment #10)
Would it be possible to try to do the mmaps first, and then if they fail due
to selinux to fallback to doing the file creation? If so, that might fix
it for all three cases (grsecurity, apparmor, and selinux).

I'll ask around whether

(Some notes about observations on my Fedora 20 box with SELinux enforced:

* I need to explicitly sudo setsebool deny_execmem on to make mmap/mprotect
fail for write+exec mappings.

* Neither OpenJDK 1.7 nor 1.8 appear to be prepared to work with deny_execmem
on, already java -version fails. Only GCJ 1.5 appears to potentially be
prepared, at least java -version works there.

* The GNOME desktop appears to not be prepared to work with deny_execmem on.
It started to crash/freeze for me in weird ways---at which point I stopped my
experiments with LO under deny_execmem on.)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 84371] New: How to remove hyperlinks is not explained

2014-09-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84371

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 84371
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: How to remove hyperlinks is not explained
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: mongolie2006-freedesk...@yahoo.fr
  Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0 all versions
 Component: Documentation
   Product: LibreOffice

Hello.

In the file
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/images/9/96/WG40-WriterGuideLO.odt
it seems it is not explained how to remove hyperlinks.
On pages 104 to 106 it is explained how to insert or edit hyperlinks, and one
would expect there a paragraph about removing them.

Moreover, it is stated there
http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/2107/deleting-hyperlinks/
that clearing direct formatting would remove hyperlinks, which is not the case
for my version of LibreOffice 4.1.5.3 on Mageia 4, KDE (Build ID:
4.1.5.3-1.mga4).

2014-09-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84008

--- Comment #5 from Zolnai Tamás zolnaitamas2...@gmail.com ---
Hi Eduardo,

Thanks for the bug report.

This error message comes from the *.json (main file of gltf format) parser and
it means that the input is empty. So it must be some problem with the dae -
gltf conversion's generated files.

It would be useful if you can check the name and count of those temporary
folders and files which are generated when you insert a 3D model. You also can
check whether this /tmp/h4UDpl(1) file exist / is empty or not.

In this case back trace won't help since I can say where it crashes :):
in libgltf external library: under src/libgltf.cpp inside
gltf_renderer_init() method.

This crash is already fixed in 4.3.2, which means Impress won't crash, just
display a question mark in such cases as yours. Apart from that conversion
still broken on your machine.

(In reply to comment #0) Writer, when PDF file is opened, displays its
content in quite a weird way - like some pages are damaged. Updating
Summary. Updating Component - Drawing. LibreOffice 4.2.6.3 Are you sure
about that version #? I don't think we ever made a 4.2.6.3 build...
 https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/4.2#4.2.6_release Attached
PNG file contains screenshot which explains it very clearly. At the right
side of the image is a Document Viewer showng exactly the same place in PDF
as Writer does. It's possible that there's something in this particular PDF
file that Draw can't currently render properly. Could you please upload a
copy of the file, or (if it's too large for Bugzilla), provide a URL where it

Ah, in 8165fc23014c8044c131cb6e1fd0c5e06fd0da2d I've added dbtools to
libmerged just to fix circular dependency without checking it's OK.

Or, get dbtools out of libmerged and create some hack for whatever was the
reason to link against dbtools in 86bdb13704d9d85a247339071a86d301ce86cd7f
fdo#67615 TextField in table should use same formatting as floating
 TextField

The reason what that LibreOffice contains two implementations of the same
feature, namely in a database context to format a value. I ripped out the use
of one (svxform::OTypeConversionClient, which was buggy in the way described in
bug 67615) in the favour of the other (dbtools::FormattedColumnValue).

 I don't know what's in dbtools library.

Utilities and base classes that are useful in a database context.

I would think it's not core functionality

What is core functionality and what is not core functionality in
LibreOffice? Do we have a clear policy about that?

to be really needed and used in libmerged (svxcore) but maybe
 it is?

Well, parts of svxcore *do* deal with database stuff, so *if* svxcore is to be
considered as completely core functionality, then dealing with database stuff
is core functionality. If this contradicts in some way the yet-unknown-to-me
policy about core functionality, and *parts* of svxcore need to be considered
core feature then maybe we can/should rip out the non-core parts of svxcore
out of svxcore and place them into another library?

More hackishly, there is some infrastructure in place (namely
connectivity::ODataAccessStaticTools) to handle this kind of things as a
dlopen at runtime instead of build-time link. We could extend that, but I'd
much rather we solved the root cause rather than extending a band-aid (which
I'd rather see destroyed).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 31142] Runaway column selection in Calc

2014-09-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=31142

--- Comment #12 from Andreas Bernhaut abernh...@itbernhaut.ch ---
I can reproduce this problem too in the following way:

Open a new spreadsheet.
Move it to the second screen.
Maximize the LibreOffice.
Mark the first colum (A1:A1048576).
Mark the next column at right outside of the screen ex. to column Z.
There you can not stop until the col AMF (A1:AMF1048576) or something like that
is selected.

In this example i can reproduce this bug always

Sometimes but not allways I can reproduce this problem with some rows ex.
(A3:AMH15).

Tested on Version: 4.2.6.3
Build-ID: 3fd416d4c6db7d3204c17ce57a1d70f6e531ee21

My meaning was if svxcore deals with database stuff, it is normal it uses a
database stuff utility functions library.

Another approach would be to tailor what's in dbtools. Maybe we can move stuff
from it to another library if it helps?

 Hi Eduardo,

 Thanks for the link.
Can you see in Bug 82476 - Crash in presentation with 3D animated model.
Under Windws 7 Home Prmeium, insertion works.

 regards,

 Jacques

Bug 82476 is not really related to 3D models. As it comes out from the
conversion there it is something with the media toolbar handling. (media
toolbar is used by movies and 3D models)

I change the subject, since from the back trace it seems the problem actually
related to the media toolbar (used both by movies/sounds and by 3D models). It
seems the crash happens when the toolbar is destroyed (clicking outside the
object trigger closing the media toolbar)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81759] Mac OS X dictation (aka Siri) does not work with Libreoffice 4.3.0.3 or newer (did work in 4.2)

Not necessary, as reported here it worked well until 4.2.5 and 4.2.6. btw: this
bug reporting tool is by no means meant for bashing the developers or someone
else, so keep calm.

In 4.3.2 at least the double fn keypress ist recognized by the OS - but
results in a sad sound (system error sound). It is the same sound as when you
try to start a dictation where no text entry is possible (e. g. Console). So
maybe dictation can not recognise writer as a receiver for text typing?

Well the LO run loop seems to complain that a Source1 type function is called,
but LO doesn't know what to do with it ? Source1 function calls come from
outside applications or user input according to the Apple dev reference, so it
could be that DD is asking for something and LO has no means to respond and so
dies ? As I'm not a dev, all just speculation.
