[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89204] VIEWING: Poor rendering performance for images in Writer

It appears especially when moving the viewport down/up (scrolling down/up) and more than a half of an image is displayed (if the images is largely hidden the rendering suddenly speeds up). The more images are displayed the slower the rendering is. The scrolling is choppy and the displayed images flicker. Steps to reproduce: 1) Start Writer (a new document is created). 2) Insert a larger image (e.g. using Insert - Image...); it should be larger than ca. 1000 x 500 pixels for significant results. 3) Move the vieport vertical scrollbar to scroll the document. Please provide a set of reproduction steps that can be used to test whether XMLSS support exists (and is working correctly) in LibreOffice. Reproducing is easy: 1) select some cells in Calc, then Copy them to the clipboard = the clipboatd should contain 'XML Spreadsheet' format data among other formats (this can be seen by clipboard viewers or e.g. in Excel's Paste Special dialog); 2) select some cells in Excel, then Copy to the clipboard = Calc's Paste Special dialog should have 'XML Spreadsheet' format among other items and the program should be able to paste the data. Considering that, looking at the bug history and related bugs, the problem seems related to cairo, i checked ubuntu cairo version, and it uses 13.0, my installation (gentoo) uses 1.12.16. The original problem should have been fixed also in 1.12, however I tried to install 1.13, only to discover that this version is not available (tagged) upstream. I then installed 1.14.0 from source, but the problem is still present. Hi Fabio, Just checking in on this bug report. Can you still reproduce it with the latest cairo in gentoo? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89127] Tools Macros OrganizeMacros Libreoffice Basic crashed LibreOffice
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89127 --- Comment #4 from RickWriter rleht...@gmail.com --- Applying some of the suggestions recommended has lead me to feel the problem focuses on lock files placed when a crash occurs. Here is a rough sequence of events: 1-I created a macro that ended up unresponsive after I experimented with debugging tools. I stopped the macro by terminating LibreOffice via the Windows Task Manager. It would appear that this set a ~lock file on LO or some portion of it. 2-Upon restarting the program, things seemed normal until I again started to experiment with my macro. Every time I opened the macro organizer the program froze. 3-Following information obtained on various websites, updated Java as well as LibreOffice, to no avail. 4-I filed the bug report. 5-In response to comments, I refined my Google search, changed hidden files to visible, changed the name of my LO profile so as to force LI to create a new one for me, sought out and deleted various lock files, and learned to terminate LO more gently by using the Windows Task Manager to stop Soffice processes rather than the LO application. 6-These steps have allowed me to work in LO once again. Thank you for your assistance. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89178] Mail merge does not change the merge fields in files to plain text
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89178 --- Comment #5 from Valdir Barbosa valdir.barbos...@gmail.com --- Hello Corn, Make a simple mail merge with name, address and city, enter the fields in the main file and send to print single or individual files. Open the generated file and try changing the merged content. The content appears as field and does not change unless you delete the field. See the .doc file and compare as .odt file. The odt file content should be equal to .doc. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89231] Problem / Mistake displaying e.g. scaling percentages in german language
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89231 V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu changed: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW CC||vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #4 from V Stuart Foote vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu --- (In reply to Julien Nabet from comment #2) percentages are ok on the screenshot... No, there does seem to be an issue with insertion of a nonprinting character (or space) between the number and percent sign in dropdowns for non en-US formatting. It shows as a blank in Steffen's, but not in Julien's screen shots. It is not present in en-US builds. ... but all texts don't appear completely. Bug 87876 is causing an issue with the dialog. OpenGl parts are in English. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47179] performance depends on /etc/hosts (svt::DocumentLockFile::CreateOwnLockFile calls gethostbyname_r)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47179 --- Comment #9 from Mattia mattia.ve...@tiscali.it --- I can confirm this problem on Fedora 21. I was astonished by the slowness of libreoffice startup. These are the timings of opening and immediately closing libreoffice on my system: BEFORE editing /etc/hosts $ time libreoffice real0m11.646s user0m0.696s sys 0m0.158s AFTER editing /etc/hosts $ time libreoffice real0m1.263s user0m0.645s sys 0m0.134s Is it really needed querying DNSs for the local machine hostname (that will fail in 99% of cases)? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89232] New: EDITING: Make comments look and work better
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89232 Bug ID: 89232 Summary: EDITING: Make comments look and work better Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: joel.ostblom+bugzi...@gmail.com Hi, I think the comments in LibreOffice Writer don't look very good, to the point that it impairs functionality. The default font size is too big so if there are many comments, I either have to click the scroll bar on each individual one or resize the fonts for them individually. The commenting box is also taking up unnecessary space that is not filled with text. Things that will improve the commenting experience are: a smaller font, removing of clutter (appears on mouseover only) and elongating the comments horizontally so they don't take too much vertical space. It is also not possible to respond to a comment someone else has made, but one has to create a new comment next to it instead. I believe there is much that can be learned by looking at how the commenting is done in Google Docs and also Word2013. There it is easy to get an overview of what has been commented upon at a quick glance and get to the important comments right away. cheers, -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
