For me this sounds like a very good and reasonable enhancement proposal,
because if you have three shapes and select the two outer shapes then it looks
like they are combined and the inner shape is also "included" and then if you
have more shapes which you want to select then you can't see which have not
been selected.

Not really it would still be adding blank labels to the chart and requires

Thank you very much for your bug report.

Please don't be disappointed if you don't get a feedback immediately. Because
LO is a voluntary project it can sometimes take some time until you get a
feedback, especially if it is maybe a very specific case or others can't
reproduce it. But nevertheless, please keep on reporting bugs and you are also
welcome to search other bugs if you want to help us and to confirm other bugs
that everybody get a feedback in a short time. Every help is welcomed !

By the way, for the time your category entries are mainly right (only the
subject title was in German -> I have translated it and you had entered 5.0.3
instead of 5.0.2 -> also corrected -> choose the version where you have first
encountered that problem).

Now to your bug:
Unfortunately, I can't reproduce it with LO 5.0.3.2, Win 8.1 with Nitro PDF.

Do you have the same issue with FILE -> EXPORT AS PDF directly from LO?

--- Comment #3 from a.c.har...@btinternet.com ---
Tried installing v 5.0.3.1 again and the problem returned, so the Kaspersy
issue is probably not relevant. The tools/options/libre office/view menu shows
hardware acceleration greyed out. Even copying the chart from one sheet to
another is desperately slow.

Reinstalled v 5.0.1.2 again and the chart redraw problem is not apparent - and
the tools/options/libre office/view menu shows hardware acceleration ticked.
Copying the same chart to the same alternate sheet is almost insantaneous
again.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95439] Calc sheets slow to scroll when containing chart

2015-11-07 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95439

--- Comment #2 from a.c.har...@btinternet.com ---
It's a general experience - for the only two spreadsheet with charts that I
use. Both spreadsheets were created long ago, one under Open Office, one in
Libre Office.

In each case the sheets with charts on them are slow to redraw when I scroll up
and down. Updating the data on the same sheet is not affected, unless the cell
edit focus requires the page to shift up, down, or sideways, and redraw the
visible part of the chart.

If the chart is moved to an empty sheet data entry on other visible sheets is
not affected. Movement on the sheet which only contains the chart is slowed by
the slow redraw.

There are no error messages.

Spreadsheets without charts appear to behave in a normal manner.

I'm unwilling to supply copies of the spreadsheets as they contain personal
information, sorry.

The only other issue that springs to mind is that I have now uninstalled
Kaspersky Anti Virus which seemed to be locking a process or CPU core in
Windows 10. My PC now seems to run slightly faster in general. I'll update
Libre Office to a later version and report back to this forum.

Similar problem occurs in Calc, that is embedded graphics in cells are not
printed but all cell edges are printed oke.

Thanks for your very fast reply.

Could you test resp. do you have the opportunity to test it with a new version
of LO? LO 4.2 has reached End of Life status (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/4.2).
Do you maybe have a friend who has also LO with another LO version to test it
on his/here PC?

But maybe this is a Linux only issue. And maybe somebody else with LO 4.2 and
Linux can reproduce/confirm it. I can only test on Win 8.1.

I would say it should be. Because as mentioned in the test case prepared, it
doesn't happen when saving one's document with the extension of '.odt'.
Therefore it's logically a function left out for '.doc' and '.docx' versions.

And how does it remark? Can you give a specific test procedure / test case and

I'd rather treat the level of annoyance with priority. Severity describes the
sheer horror (crashing, data loss) or triviality (some element not rendered
immediately) of the situation.

That would be the wrong approach IMO as it is non-standard and will not work in
other ODF implementations. The proper approach would to extend ODF to support
font features (OOXML already does), may be first as a LibreOffice extension
then propose it for standardisation.

Hmm, could well be. But IMO if average users change a border setting and the
change is not visible, that's utterly annoying and a big minus for the user
experience. So if it's clear how to reproduce reliable and simple (I'm not
going to try that, sorry, time over..) I'd rather set it to major ;)

I am not sure if I understand your issue right. But from my point of view this
is no bug.

If you select a cell with a formula and copy it to another cell then the
formula is also copied (see
https://help.libreoffice.org/Calc/Copying_Formulas).

If you want to copy only the value itself, but not the formula (because the
copied formula will calculate a new value) then you need to choose EDIT ->
PASTE SPECIAL and click OK (pay attention FORMULAE is not checked). In
addition, you could insert a copied value with a right mouse click and then go
in the context menu to PASTE ONLY -> NUMBER.

Does this explanation already solve your issue?

speaks of update intervalls one could also argue that this is a technical thing

propose to keep it.

But let's see what others think.

I didn't see it at the bottom right (left to the zoom ruler). So yes the

I know this extension is designed for Graphite initially, but it seems to that

Hi @Mark, thanks for reporting.

SUMIF uses regular expression (like extended wildcards), but more powerful.
https://help.libreoffice.org/3.3/Common/List_of_Regular_Expressions

+ is part of them.

Two solutions;

· Disable regular expressions in Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice
calc/Calculation - Regular expression.

· Escaape the plus for search with a backslash \+ if you want to use regex.

One trick, is involve the text to search with SUBSTITUTE function to replace in
the text to search the + with a \+, if you wan to use regex.

If you are not agree or is a different issue, please reopen the bug.

On one of the installs, I did download it twice to make sure,

If you have a debug version, that will tell you where it's having an issue

The component www existed in the past, but some time ago there was another
website Redmine created for bugs regarding bugzilla, websites:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94556] Table borders do not reflect changes properly - refreshing problem?

(In reply to Beluga from comment #12)

Sounds logic.
But could it be that priority is related to developer engagement?

Thanks, feel free to move the report to the most appropriate place. It would be
great if a link to the corresponding Redmine ticket is posted here, for easier
follow-up.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 94556] Table borders do not reflect changes properly - refreshing problem?

Yes, it is all about developer engagement. Unfortunately, many bugs only show
themselves in specific appearance conditions to they don't affect many people.
Only easily reproducible bugs affecting lots of users can be targeted
effectively.

Still, it is important to keep posting bug reports in the hope that they get
sorted. IMO, frustrating bugs that are present across multiple versions of LO
(and perhaps present for years) should be targeted as high priority.

I have had so many clients give up on LO because simple things that are taken
for granted in M$ Office fail to work properly here. Many of these issues are
present even in the so-called "stable" LO releases.

Tables and table borders are one area where the code base needs a complete
overhaul.

For me also not reproducible with LO 5.0.3.2, Win 8.1

Could this maybe be a Linux only issue?
