Hallo, 
seit Jahren ist der Fehler nicht behoben worden:
Ich lege einen Druckbereich unter "Format" fest. Ich lasse mir die 
Druckvorschau unter "Datei" anzeigen, stelle unter "Seitenformat/Seite" 
Querformat ein. Beim Drucken ist der Druckbereich nicht geändert. Erst nach 
Umstellung des Druckertreibers von "automatisch PDF" auf "Postscript" wird im 
Querformat gedruckt. Stoßt das bitte nochmal an,

I thought this was a driver bug; but it appears we are triggering clipped
re-rendering of areas underneath tooltip pop-ups (for no apparent reason - we
have a back-buffer with that information) - and that we clip to the visible
range. Unfortunately - GL clipping was not working.

Some example files to illustrate the filled bug

I found that when paste some illustrations in frames of a Writer document and
save as DOC and reopen some of the illustrations are missing.

In order to check it in more details I have created a test Writer document plus
a test Draw document.
Then I have created frames in the Writer documents and try to paste there the
drawings from the Draw documents using available methods for paste operation.

Then I have saved the Writer document as Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP/2003 (.doc)
аnd reopen it in Writer.

The results have been found as follows:
1. Paste "as Draw 8" did not produce any visible image in the frame before the
save operation. But if I click on the empty with the mouse the green dots for
manipulating of a picture have got visible. 
2. Paste operation by "Ctrl + V" and "as Draw 8" created missing illustrations
in the frames after reopening the file.
3. Paste "as Picture Format" had created some picture with bad image quality -
distortion of the measurement lines and some thin lines have go missing.
4. Only paste "as GDI meta file" and "as raster image" could produce usable
results.

Error still happens with 5.0.4 installer so can't force en-us installer UI.

Would be nice if the installer could just follow the set UI language or even
system locale and not use location/input layout/region format/whatever like it
seems to do now.

When the new para format is applied to a para which was manually set to RTL, it
is reset to LTR. Direction should not be changed unless the style set it

Reproducible with LO 5.1.0.1, Win 8.1

If you copy the sheet to a new sheet within the same workbook then the format
settings are copied.  But if you copy it to a new workbook then they are not
copied.

I have forgotten to inform some thing in addition.

Unfortunately even the paste "as GDI meta file" produces very readable picture,
it also makes still not acceptable illustrations in the document.

This is because the pasted image becomes bigger due to some added wide empty
area around the expected image and so uses far bigger area in the document,
compared to the the original drawing. This is contrary to the needed behaviour
where it need to preserve the area copied in the Draw instead of wasting the
area around in the Writer documents.

Unfortunately, I mean that if one would like to produce a serious document in
Writer, with many illustrations done in Draw, He may get a lot of troubles with
the current status of the Libre Office 4.4.7.2.

Based on this, may be this bug should be considered as Major?

In the Bulgarian help for Natural sort is stated as follows:

ред. Например, да предположим, че имате поредица от стойности от рода на A1,

Last sentence in free translation says: If it will be switched on, the valuses
as in the example will be ordered "correctly".

It is not clear what to expect as ordered correctly.

My kind suggestion is possibly to change this last sentence and show example
what to expect. Some thing like  A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, A6, …, A19, A20, A21 if my
understood of Natural sort is correct.

I use Kubuntu 15.10 :

1- when I right-click on a cell and select in the context menu : Formater les
cellules (Format cells), it add a row below, like the icon says in front of the
text (see picture in attachment).

2- Merge cells (Fusionner les cellules ...) and Split cells (Scinder les
cellules) don't work (no effect).

On Windows7 (same libreoffice's version), there is no problem, 1- and 2- work.

I don't see this a appropriate for the 4.4 releases, although issue of an
indistinct application icon is certainly present--it is just too late in that
branch release cycle to be changing it.

So, I like the idea of lifting the LibreOffice 5 design layout from the about
banner as the core of the primary application icon! No confusion there.

Agree it would be nice if the bit level and the branch could be displayed as
you have done. The Yellow for the release and green for bitness reads well. But
think the symbology for the 5.x would probably not be needed.

Down side to this is having to generate a release specific icon for each--but
once started should be simple enough to maintain.

Format - Print ranges - Edit - change none to entire sheet for the topmost

Bug affects all LibO applications (write, draw, impress, etc.), at least on
Linux, KDE.

The 5.1 RC 1 LibO introduces a new insert image dialog wrt LibO 4.
Unfortunately, this new dialog has broken functionality:

- There is no preview pane
- The preview ticbox at the bottom seems to do nothing
- The preview button at the top activates thumbnail previews on the side of the
filenames, but only a little fraction of file types can provide a preview, wrt
the preview pane in LibO 4. For instance svgz files do not have any preview.

It`s not a propose, I'm not a designer, only to show what I have done.

But it very well serve me, with more than a dozen of LibreOffice versions
installed. The image from welcome screen I think does a very readable icons.

If we can achieve a good mix of design and productivity, would be nice. Many
icons on desktop don't allow to know what they are at the first glance, even
they are pretty.

Here the before, and the after screenshot of the problem. When i try to erase 2
char, blanck block appear.

How i have found it:
1) I've open a new Writer Document.
2) Save it.
3) Write something.
4) Create a table with 4 columns, and filled it with text.
5) Resize the window width, making it less than the width of the table.
6) I've correct something in central column, second row.
7) Blank blocks appears, and i cannot see the cursor.

I've tried to close and re-open Writer, but the bug still remain with the same
condition.

When Writer is full screen or window width is more than table width, all the
view is correct.

I'm using:
- Libre Office Version: 5.0.4.2
- Libre Office Build ID: 5.0.4.2-3.fc23
- Libre Office Locale: it-IT (en_US.UTF-8)
- System Graphics: Gallium 0.4 on AMD TURKS (DRM 2.43.0, LLVM 3.7.0)

I see the reported problem both in Linux daily dbgutil repository
version 2016-01-02 and LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 as delivered with
debian-wheezy.  I am setting version "3.5.4 release" and keyword
notBibisectable.

I notice that the paper format *is* copied into the new workbook.
This lends support to the idea that the reported bdhavior is a bug.

The item "Templates" in the menu "File" is associated with the command
".uno:TemplateMenu". With this uno command as hid you get the help file
source/text/shared/01/0111.xhp

So it makes sense to keep this file and adapt it to the new submenu.

The variable id="dokuvorlage", which has been deleted from file
source/text/shared/00/0401.xhp, is only used here. Therefore there is no
need to restore the variable. But the problem is solved, when inserting the
needed text directly.

The file source/text/shared/01/0111.xhp has text for "Address Book Source",
but that is no longer part of the submenu "Templates". Actually the menu item
has been the dialog "Templates: Address Book Assignment". This assignment
dialog it now in menu Tools.

The submenu "Templates" has in LibreOffice 5.2 the items
 "Manage" (.uno:NewDoc), help in file source/text/shared/01/0101.xhp
 "Save as Template…" (.uno:SaveAsTemplate), help in file
source/text/shared/01/01110300.xhp
The links need to be adapted in file source/text/shared/01/0111.xhp.

Well I was never able to repro with my test case :)

This issue is not WFM.

PMouse: our Bugzilla now accepts files up to 10 megabytes. Could you attach
your arrangementTest2.v5.odt document? I don't actually remember how big it
was, but hoping it was under 10 megs..

Not sure that bug 96315 and issue here are the same. Unfortunately documents of
OP are no longer available--and your test case attachment 107112 does not seem
to reproduce issues any longer at the 5.0.4.2 release.

attachment 121114 from bug 96315 has three PNG with alpha channel transparency,
and an SVG.  All are present within a single writer Frame. As they are arranged
to bring forward or backward--on export to ODF that arrangement is being lost
in somewhat random fashion.

Since issue of OP here seems to be resolved, suggest this could be closed WFM.
And reopen bug 96315 but maybe refine the test case there?

As you will remember, graphics in the original file were links.  So, it is
nearly impossible to share a test case.  And if I replace the links with
embedded graphics, the file is 30 MB.  Also, the problem may be associated with
linked graphics, so I'm not sure that will be much help; but, I can post it
somewhere else, if you think that will help.

I've put conclusive evidence for this bug in this report.  It's a matter of
locating the bug, now, and someone with knowledge of the relevant code will
have to help me generate a test document that I can send you.

I've had this problem several times over many years, but only with large
documents containing many graphics.  I'm not sure constructing a document is
the best way to fix this bug.

...Ha!  Okay, I have a test file.  I was just playing with my old test document
and got it to work.  Unfortunately, it's the 30MB one.  All I did was take the
document with proper arrangements, save two embedded images to a directory,
then change those two images to links, save the document, reload, reload,
export to PDF.  Interestingly, it wasn't the two new linked images on page 25
that broke--it was all the other images on the remaining pages.

You tried the back and forth zooming? I still get a CPU core to max out.

The bug is due to the use of system dialogues in place of LibO ones. If one
selects 'use Libreoffice dialogs' in 'open/save dialogs', then the traditional
interface is used that is fine.

I think that at least the 'preview' tickbox should be removed from the insert
image dialog when the system dialogs are used, unless they can provide a proper
preview.

Ditto for LO 5.0.4.2 on Ubuntu 12.04 and HP 3800 Color Laserjet printer.
Work-around is to have driver set to rotate by 180 degrees.

Hi,

As I wrote: it is possible already now.
But indeed, you need to perform two steps: create a character style and assign
that to a short cut. (Macro's linked to a short cut would work too.)
I think for someone making heavily use of these settings that would be doable?

Nevertheless, when I closed this as WorksForMe, I wrote (implicitly) that I'm
willing to look at further proposals. It might of course be that I missed
something.
Looking at comment #1 and the Format>Character menu in 5.1.x, one can see that
Outline and Shadow are already available.
So I'm always a great fan of asking people enough explanation and examples, use
cases before setting something to new. There are enough orphan issues and ideas
probably. So I don't like to award half baken ideas with a enhancement status. 
Apologies if that might be to strict :)


Of course the idea to create separate UNO commands - if needed - for additional
font effects would make it easier for people to assign shortcuts.
Recording a simple macro to set the effect Embossed, shows uno:CharacterRelief. 
So maybe all effects are already available?

If the user that came up with the wish could be so kind to check that, it would
be helpful.

More and more Windows tablets support the stylus pens, like Microsoft Surface
series and my ASUS VivoTab Note 8 (M80TA).
The M80TA's Wacom stylus pen has a button. I can set it to eraser to erase pen
drawings in e.g. OneNote and PowerPoint Slide Show mode.

However, Impress doesn't support the stylus pen. I can't use the pen button to
erase the pen drawings. Impress also doesn't support to automatically enable
drawing pen when the pen approaches the tablet screen and disable drawing pen
when the pen leaves the tablet screen. If it supports that, we can use our
fingers to forward slide pages and not to draw something (the stylue pen is
responsible for drawing instead) as PowerPoint Slide Show mode.

I am not a professional Windows programmer. However, in my impression, Windows
has special APIs to support the stylus pen (including the erase functionality).
Could Impress support the stylus pen on Windows? Thanks very much.

With the hotkeys support, we can use the software, AutoHotKey, to map some
input controller, e.g. the Wacom stylus pen buttons, to these hotkeys. So, we
can easily switch the pen mode immediately by pressing the pen button in Slide
Show mode. This fast switch action doesn't make the audiences lose their
focuses on the slide content. Actually, I confirm this is workable with
PowerPoint on my ASUS M80TA tablet.

callgrind, "tree" output

I created a report file by ...
(*) delete all but first 40 records in the .odb
(*) run the report and copy the generated .odt
Then I opened the saved .odt under callgrind.

The callgrind dumpfile is 64MB, so probably not worth attaching.

I shall set whiteboard haveCallgrind.
