Steps to reproduce (As Telesto mentioned):
1. Open the document
2. Use select cursor to drag a selection box around objects
3. Wait for selection box to show up because it is lagging
4. Wait for selection box to catch up with mouse after it shows up

Also, this happens whether or not I have OpenGL turned on.

2. Press the dropdown button in a header row cell to get the sort/filter dialog
3. Uncheck/check filter criteria

No filtering or sorting.

OK, so I think the confusion here is that the dialog that shows either with
Insert -> Page Number... or Insert -> Header and footer... is mis-categorized.

It is not an insert function at all; more like a formatting one (a bit
equivalent to Format -> Page Style... (tabs Header / Footer).  In the Writer,
Insert -> Page Number inserts a field with the actual page number, and Insert
-> Header and Footer inserts the actual header / footer.

I think the best solution would be to move the dialog to the Format menu, and
remove both "Page Number..." and "Header and Footer..." from the Insert menu;
but no idea what would be the impact on the user who are used to this location
of the dialog.

Interesting side bar, when I export the .ppt through PowerPpint 2007 to OOXML
.pptx and extract, the images are EMF.  But, LibreOffice open the .ppt and
saves the images as WMF.

This is a duplicate of 104252, also the other EMF image in the .ppt/.pptx
causes bug 104034 when opened with OpenGL enabled ;)

Description:
To be specific: The German word construct "Kraftwerks-", i. e. "Kraftwerkspark"
does not work for the font "Linux Libertine G" correctly. LibreOffice is used
in German, the autosyllabification ("Silbentrennung") is working. If a word
with "Kraftwerk-" is separated between "Kraft-" and "-werks-" the letter "w"
and "e" are displayed at the same place. This means, that you really can not
read the word part "-werks-". As far as I see, the problem does occur with the
font "Linux Libertine G", for other there is not similar problem. Therefore I
am not sure, if this is really a problem of Libreoffice but rather of the font
type. This Problem occured in the release 5.2.1.2 and in the new 5.2.3.3.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Textdocument in Writer with syllabification and language switched to German
2. Use font "Linux Libertine G" size 12 and use justified typesetting
3. Write "Kraftwerkspark" at the end of a line, so the word will be separated
"Kraft-" and "-werkspark"
4. See wrong typeset

Actual Results:  
The result will occur everytime.

Expected Results:
"w" and "e" are displayed at the same spot in companion with "r" creating a
wonderful new letter.

Inserting a sheet as described takes ~6s on a fairly fast laptop. 70% of the
time is spent under EndListening(). Taking.
Though the crash during load mentioned above is completely unrelated and should
had been a separate bug. Removing regression keyword here.

Description:
I'd love to be able to set the default window size of a writer document so they
don't keep opening up full width and taking up my screen real estate.

This is just an enhancement/idea, not a bug.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Libreoffice
2. Create new Writer document
3. Notice that every time, the document opens up in an extremely wide window
every time.

Actual Results:  
A very large window presents itself, taking up a lot of screen real-estate.

Expected Results:
I might expect this to happen the first time I open up a window, but then after
resizing a writer document, I'd expect the software to remember the previous
document window size when I go to open or create a new document. There could at
least be a setting in preferences for the default window size.

Miklos, David, Michael(s) -- before I reject this "enhancement" out of hand,
any perspective from the development side. 

Beyond requiring a PDF password if set, with our new insert PDF as svm image or
the "legacy" open PDF filter do we have any obligation to honor the encryption
dictionary settings and Adobe security handler for any /P values if set?

Once we have filter imported a PDF for use (as Image or as Draw objects) seems
counter productive to then try to limit what we do with the the result
internally.

I'm sure it could be done but personally I don't see this as necessary or
desirable. But is it something we are obliged to do? Again, I don't think so.

JBW: how did you create this document? In LibreOffice? Can you give us steps
that lead to this effect reliably?

I tried inspecting the styles.xml and document.xml inside the .docx, but didn't
discover the problem (.docxes are just .zip files).

Set to NEEDINFO.

In my experience LO runs once after installing and then crashes every time
afterwards. For a time I also associated this with installing the language pack
(PL in my case), but it seems to have no bearing (I was simply installing LO,
running it once and then installing the language pack, running it again and
crash).

The workaround mentioned by someone on IRC to disable graphics card switching
in power saving options works for me.

I'm on MBP 6,2 (dual graphics Intel and Nvidia 330M), macOS Sierra 10.12.1,
trying to use LO 5.2.3.3.

I also have a Mac Pro at work which I think had the crashing, too, despite not
having dual graphics. I'll try to look into it tomorrow.

Is it time to confirm the bug?

I'd like to report that this bug is also/anymore in LibreOffice V5.1.4.2 Build
ID 1:5.1.4-0ubuntu1 using calc.(On Ubuntu 16.04 LTS, latest update)

Have a spreadsheet (mine has 25 Sheets) use file -> export as PDF ->
select "page" -> type Nr.-> Export -> type filename, press Enter.

Error message [Error saving the document name: WriteError.The file could not be
written ] (Yes, I have the rights to write for the folder, the spreadsheet will
be saved in the same folder)

A file with validity list in A1 having a "2,3" item

This is a complex problem.
1. When saving the file from LO, it creates the following items in sheetN.xml:

When opening the above Excel-saved file in LO, it doesn't import validity
condition (incl.list) properly (test the attachment).

3. I don't have Excel 2010 to test, but testing with Excel 2007, it seems to be
unable to create such items itself, so possibly it's missing functionality in
versions prior to 2013.

To respond to your questions. No, the document was created in Word 2016, and I
was trying to recreate my styles in the LibreOffice document went things went
awry.

But I'm not sure what your comment is saying. Are you saying that you cannot
reproduce my observed problem when you open this document? To perhaps repeat:
my difficulty is that some headings seem to be negatively indented--hanging
1/4" to the left of the page/text margin. And I cannot seem to correct this
because the style (cleared, deleted, added again, changed to "normal", etc,
etc) says that there is no indent! By every means of reckoning, the style
specification asserts that the heading text is already lined up with no hanging
line or indent.

I'm afraid that I have now abandoned LibreOffice and moved that document back
to Word (where it gave me a similar problem but I think I corrected it there).
In short I'm afraid I've moved on. 

I'm disappointed. I am quite frankly amazed at the quality of LibreOffice and
very disappointed that it didn't work out. But stumbling this early on a
difficulty that proved to be so stubborn is something I don't want to deal with
at this point. Good luck with it. Will check back in a year or so.

Alright!, I didn't know the Print Dialog window I got was because I was using a
CUPs print server. I was getting worried they removed some functionality for
sake of simplicity. 

Is there a way to get the main printer dialog windows to be used instead of the
CUPS one? On my other OS X machine if I removed all my printers it seemed to
fix it. On my MacBook I have a few printers I don't really want to have to
re-add.

I'm was wrong. Resetting the user profile doesn't fix the issue.

I did not confirm this bug again so sorry if this has been fixed. However, I
don't think so. I know a lot of time has passed but to answer Buovjaga's
question, it depends on whether LibreOffice wants to support Opera 12. In
reality, Opera 12 and Opera Mail seem to have been updated in February. I have
no idea whether any new updates are in the works.
