[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107942] Text is missing in dialogs in some remote desktop connections

2017-05-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107942

The host is a Windows 2008 server system, the client is Windows 7.

Hm, there seems to be some similarity between this and bug 107166, but here the
bug is much less aggressive, the text is mostly visible, except in certain
dialogs (quite many dialogs, actually).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 36867] [EDITING] Not currently possible to undo wrong autocapitalization in Calc

The problem still exists in Version: 5.3.1.2, Build-ID: 1:5.3.1-0ubuntu2
I resent, that this is classified as an "enhancement". If Ctrl-Z after an
autocorrect not only undoes the autocorrect but also everything the user typed
before, this is clearly a bug to me. There is no discernible logic in this
behaviour, the more so, because in Writer it works exactly as expected and
therefore differently than in obviously broken Calc. Please fix the mess.
Pretty please.

adding font information based on the fact that it is simply plain text of if
konsole is adding font information into the copy buffer (which it shouldn't).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107949] New: Export to xhtml document always has title of " - no title specified"

2017-05-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107949

Bug ID: 107949
Summary: Export to xhtml document always has title of "- no
title specified"
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.6.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rolfofsax...@gmail.com

Description:
In the header.xsl file there is the following:

- no title
specified

On Linux Mint 17 Libreoffice running with Language English UK any document
exported as xhtml whether it has a Title in the document or not always ends up
with the .html document having
- no title specified
Whilst this can be edited, it's an annoyance.
Even if the actual title cannot be extracted from the document for some reason
the default should at the very least be the filename of the document i.e.
"mydocument.html" not "- no title specified"

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Export a .odf document as xhtml
2.
3.

Actual Results:
- no title specified

Expected Results:
Bandwidth on Linux
Using the actual title in the document
or
bandwidth.html
Using the name of the file

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like

first cell A1 may change to #ref! but when closing the calc and reopen the
content in A5 may not change; the second behavior is not right.

MSWord created, saves OK, crashes on closing after removing header

This does not look (to me) like 99436.

Linux (Debian), LO 5.0.5.2, AMD64.

The attached file has been simplified to bare essentials! It can be saved as
.docx or .odt quite happily, and can be closed without problem. Any and all
text can be deleted, including from the page header, and it will save and close
properly.

Even as .odt, delete the header, even apparently empty, and it will save
without problem, BUT then close the file and LibreOffice crashes. Guaranteed.

As long as the page header has not been removed, there is no problem.

After crashing, the file can be opened and closed with no issues.

Help for About Converting Microsoft Office Documents from
https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/About_Converting_Microsoft_Office_Documents
should be updated so that it can be used as a reference in different bugs.

1. There's "general overview of Microsoft Office features that may cause
conversion challenges" but I hope they are not all there with LO 5.3.

2. For "Opening Microsoft Office Documents That Are Protected With a Password"
PowerPoint is not mentioned at all and as Bug 33538 says: "Unable to open any
password-protected PPT or PPS (PPTX and PPSX work)".
Open XML should be amended: "The Office Open XML format uses 128-bit AES
encryption."

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107952] New: EDITING: Undo of formatting and formula changes doesn' t show affected cells

2017-05-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107952

Bug ID: 107952
Summary: EDITING: Undo of formatting and formula changes
doesn't show affected cells
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: thomas.le...@gmail.com

When using the Undo feature I expect that the canvas view of Calc will jump to
the cell where something will be took back. With that I can see what is being
undone and can stop taking changes back.

If styles formatting (not direct formatting) or formula changes are affected,
then the canvas view doesn't bring the user back to that cell.

It must be (at least) partly a regression because formula changes are shown in
LibO 3.3.0 but not in current versions.

Version: 5.3.1.2
Build ID: e80a0e0fd1875e1696614d24c32df0f95f03deb2
CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Windows 6.2; UI Render: default; Layout Engine:
new; Locale: de-DE (de_DE); Calc: CL

LibreOffice 3.3.0
OOO330m19 (Build:6)
tag libreoffice-3.3.0.4

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a new Calc document.
2. A1: insert text
3. B1: insert a style of the Styles and Formatting sidebar like "Bad"
4. C1: insert a formula like =C2+C3
5. C1: change the formula to =C2+C3+C4
6. D1: apply a direct formatting feature like Bold or Align right
7. Go down to row 100 so that the first row isn't visible.
8. Take back a change and see if the view jumps to the first row.
9. If the view jumps, go back to row 100 and take back another change.

Actual result:
Canvas view jumps back to row 1 when undoing the changes in D1 and A1 but not
in C1 and B1.

Expected result:
All changes should be visible to the user.

--- Comment #6 from Jean-Sebastien Bevilacqua ---
Your rtf document contains bookmarks defined as =C6 or =SUM(C12:C27).
Theses references don't seem to exist.

Moreover, in your file, some fields are defined as formula and others not.

Can you give more informations on this file, how do you generate it ?

The error you see come from the field formula format like this:

=curr_emp+curr_adm \\# "#,##0"

The last part is not supported, I should convert it to

=curr_emp+curr_adm

BUT it will no resolve your problem since variable curr_emp and curr_adm are
not well defined.
Before the patch, LibreOffice was taking the alternate part of the field
because it couldn't parse it. Now it can parse it (badly).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107953] New: Not enough precision when showing single-precision variable in BASIC debugger watch

2017-05-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107953

Bug ID: 107953
Summary: Not enough precision when showing single-precision
variable in BASIC debugger watch
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: lowest
 Component: BASIC
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com

As described on
https://randomascii.wordpress.com/2012/03/08/float-precisionfrom-zero-to-100-digits-2/,
to uniquely identify a single, it is required to show 9 decimal digits (and 17
for double). Currently, watch in BASIC IDE shows only 7 decimals for single, so
e.g.

> dim s1 as single, s2 as single, d as double
> s1 = 1.1754943
> s2 = 1.1754944
> d = s2 - s1

would show s1 and s2 *both* as 1.175494, while d would contain 1.192E-07,
showing that the shown precision is not enough.

The suggestion is to show 9 significant digits for single values.

So, the first time I open sample3 document, I have ~45 gdi objects, and if I
copy paste the OLE object once, I have ~95, so it needs to be copied 200 times
approximately. Indeed, it sound a bit like a corner-case, however, I think
there might be other objects that create more GDI objects every time they're
copied/pasted, and thus, easier to reproduce.

There are no simple ziP/archive executables to my knowledge, unless you build a
working application directory yourself from the source code.

Xisco: could you give another try with a build including
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=ba9b44270b56dfc6c416a55686d855a5b3c3c866

Indeed, searching in Opengrok about VirtualDevice, I stumbled upon this case.

(as advised by Markus, I'll use with std::unique_ptr at this place later)

Well, I wanted to send one sample document displaying this issue, but after I
anonymized its content and replaced all graphics with placeholder graphics I
noticed that this issue did not reoccur.

This might be an issue caused by the fact that the documents I work with are
old and have been worked on with OpenOffice and then almost every version of
LibreOffice since it was forked from OpenOffice. Also, these documents were
first in an older, deprecated format (SXW) the content of which I migrated to
ODT format.

ahh.. That's too bad :( :/
VideoLAN(ie VLC Media Player) creates archive versions for portable and
debugging
purposes...

ok so Admin install does loose files.. ok that works...
I created a .cmd bath file so I can make it quicker next time if I am testing a
newer version like a beta/nightly...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 107955] New: Implement an interpolation function

2017-05-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=107955

Bug ID: 107955
   Summary: Implement an interpolation function
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: frederic.parre...@univ-grenoble-alpes.fr

In an lot of scientific fields, we need to do interpolation of data.
That is, if you have a set of x_i and y_i, you want to know the values y'_i at
abscissas x'_i.
Currently, there is no interpolation function in calc, though.
I would greatly appreciate one.
The basic functionality would be to have a linear interpolation.
Other type of interpolation include staircase and cubic spline.
All these interpolations could be done by simply evaluating the function, or
also by using an averaging between two consecutive x'_i.
Such a function exists in another spreadsheet software called gnumeric, so it
is possible to take some inspiration from it (with a critical look, though).

Screencast (animated GIF) showing the problem

I have saved my color palette as a .soc file. When I try to load it in my new
installation of LibreOffice, the new palette is shown. But when I save it with
"OK" and go back to the palette settings, the old palette is there again.

I have attached a screencast (animated GIF) where I show the problem.

On the Linux platform after import of DOCX file into Writer custom properties
names showed as "??" in File -> Properties -> Custom Properties box. It
seems that because of Cyrillic names of these properties.

When "Show Fields" are enabled, field that uses that properties shows it
correctly.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 92770] thisComponent is not valid during "Open Document" at startup in non-document macro

2017-05-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92770

--- Comment #12 from Lionel Elie Mamane ---
Nah, using SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk does not make it disappear.

My local build is with --enable-dbgutil... Is that the difference? But the
Debian package that I test is a release build...

Reproduced with

(TDF build)
Version: 5.2.7.2
Build ID: 2b7f1e640c46ceb28adf43ee075a6e8b8439ed10
CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Linux 4.9; UI Render: default; VCL: gtk2;
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.utf8); Calc: group

I tried again several times with

Version: 5.3.2.2
Build ID: 6cd4f1ef626f15116896b1d8e1398b56da0d0ee1
CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Linux 4.9; UI Render: default; VCL: gtk2; Layout
Engine: new;
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.utf8); Calc: group

Often it works, sometimes not. So it definitely smells like a race condition.

Ah, now reproduced with

Version: 5.5.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: d880df3a44497cdec49017538a9d38d48e543bad
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.9; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2;
TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@70-TDF, Branch:master, Time:
2017-05-19_07:51:21
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.utf8); Calc: group

after several tries... like 10.

Ah, I found a way to reproduce each time:

settings: medium security, giving a warning and a choice "enable macros" or
"disable macros".

$ /opt/libreofficedev5.5/program/soffice attachment_117261
# give focus to another non-LibreOffice window
# give focus back to security warning window WITHOUT GOING THROUGH focus to
LibreOffice main window (which would "pass" its focus to the security warning
window)
# click "Enable Macros"

On the other hand, this *always* works (bug does not appear):

$ /opt/libreofficedev5.5/program/soffice attachment_117261
# give focus to another non-LibreOffice window
# give focus back LibreOffce main window; it "passes" its focus to the security
warning window
# click "Enable Macros"

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58874] OFFSET function in array context compatibility with Excel

2017-05-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon

 Status|NEW |ASSIGNED
   Assignee|libreoffice-b...@lists.free |er...@redhat.com

So indeed, for OFFSET in array context Excel returns an array of references,
e.g. OFFSET(A1,ROW(1:3),0,2) returns
A2:A3
A3:A4
A4:A5
which then fed to SUBTOTAL calculates each independently and returns an array
of results.

With A1:A5={1;2;4;8;16} and =SUBTOTAL(9,OFFSET(A1,ROW(1:3),0,2)) the result is
{6;12;24}

Same for =SUM(OFFSET(A1,ROW(1:3),0,2)) in array context.
I assume the same works for all functions that can be specified as SUBTOTAL
first argument, at least it does for AVERAGE as well.

(Note: {1;2;3} should be the same as ROW(1:3) but Excel does not accept the
inline array.)

This looks to be another font with bad metrics.

Bibisecting with builds on hand, the line heights are as legacy through this
build:
Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha1+
Build ID: 0f3861e65d8e652dcc31cf9a2f2b5c1a0a73b86d

TinderBox: Win-x86@62-merge-TDF, Branch:MASTER, Time: 2016-11-19_23:33:29

And first note bad with the build:
Version: 5.4.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 9691cea443a74885b3f81c602efdd3345de1e3f9
CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Windows 6.19; UI Render: default; Layout Engine:
old;
TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2016-11-24_14:26:28
Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: CL

So that is in the range for the refactoring for bug 55469 with ref commit.

Should have simple workaround to correct the installed font metrics (with
FontForge, TypeLight, FontCreator, etc.)

@Khaled, for users as in this case needing to correct their font metrics--they
uninstall the font. Then edit it to set the hhea and Typo to match the OS/2 Win
Ascent/Descent, right? Testing, I just did that and it restored the formatting
of the earlier builds to 5.3 builds.

The patch was refused favoring a new palette (discussion also on Telegram). As

Thanks for repoing it. Can you provide some simple steps for its repoing and
can you test if its inherited from OOo or is a regression.

The third line break appears at 1:57 after the presenter clicks off the notes
textbox, so that seems to be something unrelated.

Part of this was fixed in bug 86018. In order for the zoom controls to never
disappear, we would need to have a mechanism to hide statusbar elements based

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99528] Better handling for multiline tabs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99528

--- Comment #10 from Yousuf Philips (jay) ---

> Most people are used to read LTR or RTL, not top to bottom or reverse.

The contents of the tabs are ordered top to bottom in columns.

> Also there is much more horizontal than vertical space.

That all depends on how the controls are organized. Many tabs have extra wide
controls for no reason (e.g. Character dialog's hyperlink and highlighting
tabs, nearly every tabs in the Paragraph dialog)

> Using a scrollbar would be a usability disaster. A vertical layout should only
> be an option for very few (~handful) points.

Cant say i agree with you, as when you have content that is larger than the
available space, scrollbars are common and useful (e.g. browser, file manager).
Alternatively you would have to have more vertical tabs, but you wouldnt be for
scrolling within the vertical tabs.

As built-in styles arent deletable, the user can only delete user-defined
styles, so the entry should only list unused user-defined styles. As we have an
entry for 'Custom Styles', so the new entry should be 'Unused Custom Styles'.
