Okay, I dug some more into this.

To get the Asian Typography tab you need to go to Tools > Options > Languages >
and click the Asian checkbox.

This is an unreasonable requirement to get to a CTL setting.

I understand this Bug should change to a wrong default behavior and wrong
placement of a setting (CTL setting that requires enabling Asian languages).

According to the backtrace, it seems linked to a dictionary.

For the test, could you rename your LO directory profile (see

With the attached docmument the steps are more clear and I could reproduce it:

1. Open an new document (page size A4)
2. Write some text and set it to center aligned
3. change page size to 100cm x 50cm

result: text is aligned to the left, although the toolbar button "center
horizontally" is active. It's not possible to change the alignment.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116358] New: Writer doesn' t keep a table row with the next in RTF documents

2018-03-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116358

Bug ID: 116358
Summary: Writer doesn't keep a table row with the next in RTF
documents
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.2.1 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dferrar...@gmail.com

Description:
When opening an RTF file with a table row that has the \keepn control word in
the related paragraph, the row is not kept with the following row nor
paragraph.

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Create a new Writer document
2) type "a" and then return
3) add a 1x2 table
4) below the table, type "b"
5) right click on the first row of the table, select "Table properties"-"Text
flow" and click "Keep with next paragraph"
6) save as RTF
7) set the cursor right after the "a" and start entering returns, till a page
break occurs. The two rows and the "b" are kept togheter
8) close the document without saving and reopen it
9) repeat step 7) and you'll notice that the two rows and the b are not kept
togheter
10) open the saved RTF with MS Word and repeat step 7) and you'll notice that
the two rows and the "b" are kept togheter

Actual Results:
the table row is not kept with the following row nor paragraph.

Expected Results:
the table row should be kept with the following row or paragraph.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Writer adds the \keepn control word to a paragraph if you do one of the
following actions:
check "Keep with next paragraph" in "Paragraph - Text flow" Tab.
uncheck "Allow table to split across pages and columns" in "Table properties -
Text flow".
check "Keep with next paragraph" in "Table properties - Text flow".
MS Word 2016 allows you to control the text flow only in the paragraph
properties, not in the table properties, but if the paragraph is in a table,
then \keepn keeps the row with the followig item, either if it's a row or a
paragraph.
To be noticed that, based on RTF specifications, there's the control word
\trkeepfollow specific for tables that in my opinion is better than using
\keepn for a paragraph in a table row, but MS Word itself seems to ignore the
existence of this control word (and so does Writer).

the problem is not the same as 112671. the edge does not change by varying the
thickness or even increasing or decreasing the zoom.
The file sent is not a copy but an original product with libre office.
In theory, the border should be displayed as two edges, but instead only one
edge line appears, varying thickness or zoom.

Ok, that is interesting. Could you create a zip file of your profile folder and
attach it to this report?

After you have done this, you can reset the profile according to the
instructions in the wiki article. Note that resetting the profile makes all

This actually works. Interesting. But this means the default behavior is wrong,
as far as Hebrew is concerned. And this is something that you need to change
manually in all styles... Really unapproachable...

Another problem is while working with MS Word files. This setting isn't saved
in Docx files, and so you need to reapply it manually every time you open a
Docx file.

To reproduce:
1. Edit a style and uncheck "Apply spacing between Asian, Latin and complex
text" in the Asian Typography tab.
2. Save the file as Docx.
3. Close and reopen the file. Checking the edited style you'll see "Apply
spacing between Asian, Latin and complex text" is checked again...

Actually, it's worse than that. It means that the dichotomy expressed in this
boolean setting, i.e. you might want to add space between Asian and Latin, or
Asian and RTL, but not between RTL and numbers. I believe there needs to be a
better mapping of this option space by people who have experience both with an
RTL language and an Asian language. Also, it's not clear that digits should be
considered together with Latin characters .

For now, I suggest the "Spacing between RTL and Latin-or-Number characters" be
_split_off_ into its own setting, with the other setting being "Spacing between
Asian and everything else".

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116237] When selecting certain Border formats and a Border Style, the style is not correct.

2018-03-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116237

If you know how to use the icons on the Menu bar then do this
1) left click on the drop down arrow for Borders
2) options are displayed in a 3 x 4 matrix. click on the option to surround a
cell or range of cells (hint: it's on the second row in the fourth column
(right)
3) left click on the drop down arrow for Border style. drag the slider down
until you see the third from the bottom wide bar and left click on it.
That's all that I do, LO Calc does the rest by putting a thick border
horizontally both top and bottom and incorrectly putting a skinny border line
vertically both on the left and right.

To help you visualize this I prepared and attached an ods file named Borders.
It shows the borders for all 14 options

I have only Calc V 6.0.1.2 installed.
If I create a new ods, the borders are drawn incorrectly
If I open an old ods created by V5, the borders are drawn correctly

This makes me think that, when a new ods is created, Border definitions are
retrieved and stored within the ods rather than being retrieved from Calc each
time the ods is opened.
This raises the issue of how a correction can be designed and applied to:
1) correct the definitions in Calc itself and
2) how to transfer those correct definitions to each ods with the incorrect
definitions.
We’d need to know what an incorrect definition looks like, test for it and if
found, replace it with a correct definition.

On a side note: There are only 5 Border style variations that make sense to
have, but 2 need fixing. The other options look just like an other option and
are therefore redundant and should be removed. I documented this in the ods
which I’ve attached.
This makes me think that at one time all 14 looked different but over time were
converted to what we see now.

Right, there is a discrepancy between the Format cells dialog and the toolbar
dropdown button. The toolbar button contains more styles than the dialog. I was
working in the dialog this whole time.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 111675] IFS() and SWITCH() should short-cut evaluation like IF() and CHOOSE()

2018-03-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon

   What|Removed |Added

 Status|REOPENED|NEW
Summary|UI: Functions IFS does not |IFS() and SWITCH() should
   |work together with function |short-cut evaluation like
   |CURRENT |IF() and CHOOSE()

I'm repeating myself:
"IFS() evaluates conditions until it finds a matching one, sprinkling CURRENT()
all over makes it depend on internal behaviour what arguments will be evaluated
first, which currently may be all before IFS() is called and in future may be
only the ones until one is matched."
and
"Using CURRENT() multiple times at the same function level within one
expression means relying on internal implementation details. One should not. It
may change without notice."

> =B2+STYLE(IFS(CURRENT()B3;"Rot"))
>
> And my question is: For B3 constantly being e.g. "4", how could a value of
> "4" for B2 lead to the condition "CURRENT()>B3" being selected by IFS() ???
Because here the state of CURRENT is not what you think it is. For the first
CURRENT()B3 it is "Gelb"
that was just pushed on the stack, and a string is greater than a numeric
value.

Anyway, I'll keep this and close bug 113595 instead, they have the same reason.

IFS() and SWITCH() currently evaluate all parameters' arguments in order
encountered from left to right for IFS() and right to left for SWITCH() and
return the result matching for the condition(s). They do not short-cut
evaluation like IF() and CHOOSE() do. Hence for a function that has side
effects like STYLE() all styles are applied and the last one evaluated wins.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116369] New: 3 quick and needed changes

2018-03-12 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116369

Bug ID: 116369
Summary: 3 quick and needed changes
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.2.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: webbusin...@humanitysgoal.org

Description:
1. When you save a document, it should assume the title of the page (like Word
does)
2. When autosave completes, it moves back to the page where the cursor is!
Very annoying when you are reading a long document and are on another page.
3. on Macs, when you ALT-TAB to choose a new window, it only shows one
LibreOffice doc even though you may have two or more open.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. When you save a document, it should assume the title of the page (like Word
does)
2. When autosave completes, it moves back to the page where the cursor is!
Very annoying when you are reading a long document.
3. on Macs, when you ALT-TAB to choose a new window, it only shows one
LibreOffice doc even though you may have two or more open.

Actual Results:

Expected Results:
See steps to reproduce

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I'll gladly show you these three issues remotely. These have been basic
problems from the beginning.

Saving a document:

if the title of your page shows "Close to the Vest", when you go to save the
document for the first time it should autofill the name of the doc as "Close to
the Vest" automatically.

VerySleepy (Windows) is a very basic profiler, which could give some insight..
(no guarantees)
http://www.codersnotes.com/sleepy/

1. Launch it when LibreOffice is using 100%
2. Select soffice.bin as process to profile
3. Select the top thread (probably the post active one)
4. Set profile for time set. And configure it to, say 30 seconds
5. Profile selected, wait until done
6. Select File -> Save As. and attach it
