[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141619] New: Undoing of Replace All operation leaves a "dirty" spreadsheet, force recalculation needed

2021-04-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141619

Bug ID: 141619
Summary: Undoing of Replace All operation leaves a "dirty"
spreadsheet, force recalculation needed
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.7.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: plateauw...@qq.com
Blocks: 105948

Sample file

This is a bug report translated and forwarded form a Chinese LO user chat
group.

Description:
When "Replace All" is done for a certain column, and then immediately "Undo",
some cells containing a formula related to the replaced cells are not properly
undone. The displayed result for these cells are still using the replacement
string, not the original string. A forced recalculation is needed to restore
the whole spreadsheet to the state before "Replace All".

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Open the attached sample ODS file. There are some Chinese text in them but
they are not involved in testing, so not displaying them correctly (encoding or
font issues) are not critical. Make sure menu Data > Calculate > AutoCalculate
is enabled;

2. Click on the column header "A", the whole column is selected;

3. Open "Find and Replace" dialog by either menu Edit > Find and Replace... or
shortcut Ctrl+H. Type "A004" in Find field, "ABCD" in Replace field, check
"Current selection only" if it's not already enabled, leave all other options
(the ones under Find field, as well as all others under "Other options")
unchecked;

4. Press "Replace All" button, if search results dialog is enabled, it should
pop up and tell you 270 cells are replaced. Close this search result dialog,
then also close search and replace dialog;

5. Now all the cells in column A should show "ABCD", either directly replaced
by step above or as a result of a formula calculation. You can also see that
data in column B and column O also changed;

6. Undo the "Replace All" operation, either by menu Edit > Undo: Replace or
shortcut Ctrl+Z;

7. Observe that while cell A2 is correctly redone back to "A004", cells A3, B2,
O2 and many others still contain "ABCD";

8. Force re-calculation of the whole sheet by either menu Data > Calculate >
Recalculate Hard or shortcut Ctrl+Shift+F9, now all cells show "A004" like the
original state.

Expected Result:
Undo operation reverts all changes caused by Replace All, no forced
re-calculation needed.

Additional Information:

I reproduced this bug in (slightly old) 7.2 daily build, 7.1.1, and various
versions back to 5.2.7 (the oldest I have installed):

Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 722ec600e85cca2e94e82e69f8d13773061172b9
CPU threads: 2; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19041; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: zh-CN (zh_CN); UI: zh-CN
Calc: threaded
---
Version: 7.1.1.2 (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: fe0b08f4af1bacafe4c7ecc87ce55bb426164676
CPU threads: 2; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19041; UI render: default; VCL: win
Locale: zh-CN (zh_CN); UI: zh-CN
Calc: threaded
---
Version: 5.2.7.2 (x64)
Build ID: 2b7f1e640c46ceb28adf43ee075a6e8b8439ed10
CPU Threads: 2; OS Version: Windows 6.19; UI Render: default;
Locale: zh-CN (zh_CN); Calc: group

The original reporter also claims to reproduce on Deepin Linux (exact version
information not yet available).

The exact cells that are not properly reverted by undo seems to change a little
each time I test, maybe due to version differences, or just variations between
different tests. However cell A3 and B2, and all the other initially visible
affected cells (by "affected", I mean containing a formula that concerns cells
with the replaced "A004" string) are always wrong. Other cells that are not
initially visible and need scrolling to see may be correctly reverted to
"A004".

It seems, that it depends on zoom level.

Steps to reproduce
1. Open document with a zoom level 100% => Anchor position O. K. (more or
lesse)
2. Zoom out to 60% => Anchor reamins at the same position on screen and
therefore moves out of the document
3. Change position of image (zoom level ist still 60%) => Anchor moves to the
correct position
4. Zoom in to 100% => Anchor reamins at the same position on screen and
therefore changes position in relation to the document

This looks like a duplicate of bug 137213.

Vasily, do you get the same result?

Thank you for reporting the bug. When I open your document, the paragraph with
page break before is visible.

I've tried to reproduce your problem as follows:
1. Change paragraph style of first paragraph of second page
2. Modify that paragraph style: In tab "Font Effect" select "Hidden"

Actual result: Paragraph is hidden, but page break is still there

Does this desribe your problem? If not, please add some steps to reproduce.

Dear Andrew Panin,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141616] New: LibreOffice discards designated file folder names when moving from Writer to Calc and vice versa

2021-04-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141616

Bug ID: 141616
Summary: LibreOffice discards designated file folder names when
moving from Writer to Calc and vice versa
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.1.2 release
  Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: remout...@gmail.com

Description:
I set up Writer to load and save files to a specific folder.
Next, I have to work a spreadsheet so I load a file from spreadsheet folder,
work on it and finally, save it.
Some time later, I need to change the Writer file or create a new one so I go
to File Open but now I am presented with the spreadsheets Folder.
How can I assign specific folder for Writer files and another specific folder
for Calc files just like I can in MS Office?

Actual Results:
1. Save a Writer file to specific folder for Writer files.
2. Save a Calc file to a different specific folder for Calc files.
3. Open the Writer file saved a short time ago.

Expected Results:
After completing the first two tasks I try item 3. to open the Writer file but
Writer is looking in the folder for Calc files.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Writer should remember where its files are saved and Calc should remember where
its files are stored . . . . just like MS Office does.

This is the screenshot of the working LO6 (6.4.7) built from FreeBSD ports on
powerpc64 FreeBSD 14-CURRENT. Built with the same options as LO7, which
includes:

COINMP off
CUPS on
DOCS on
GNOME off
GTK3 off
JAVA off
KF5 off
LTO off
MARIADB off
MMEDIA on
PGSQL off
QT5 on
SDK off

WEBDAV off

I'm guessing just the QT5 setting is significant here, since it's a rendering
issue.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131487] Words whose characters span multiple languages should not undergo spell checking

2021-04-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131487

--- Comment #10 from sergio.calleg...@gmail.com ---
@Mihail Balabanov, can you please expand a little?

It is unclear to me how the proposed change about not spellchecking mixed
language words could conceal typos that are now caught, or do you mean that
there is a need to add an additional mechanism so that also multi-language
words can get spellchecked to catch typos that cannot be caught now?

I have a feeling that the mechanism that you propose requires a big overhaul of
all the spellchecking mechanism and entail a lot of corner cases. For instance,
consider the Italian "sull'International Conference". You would need a
mechanism to say: "quell" can be considered a valid Italian word only if it is
followed by a "’" followed by a non Italian word whose initial sound is
vowel-like. Seems a bit impractical to me.

Possibly, what you need is to differentiate just by language: when you have a
multi-language token if one piece is in Italian, I think that it really should
not undergo spellchecking that would lead to wrong results in 99% of the cases
anyway. Furthermore, an author would already put some greater care on it due to
its particular form. Maybe if you have a multi-language token where one piece
is in Bulgarian there should be another approach or the current one is already
OK.

As a side note, given the ongoing discussion I wonder if the issue could be
marked as confirmed.

Description:
I found a rather annoying bug that I was surprised not to see in this tracker
yet (unless my 40m of searching was incomplete). While f you select an entire
column, you can see the SUM in the lower right. No matter what column of
numbers I select, I get a deviation of +/-0.0001 or +/-0.0001
added to the real sum. So, if the real sum is 123.45, I will see
123.4502 reported by Calc...or I'll see 123.4499.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 131487] Words whose characters span multiple languages should not undergo spell checking

2021-04-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=131487

Marking the multi-language words as ‘do not check’ would eliminate any false
positives but also conceal typos when they do exist.

In Bulgarian, we use a hyphen when adding a plural and/or definiteness suffix
to a foreign word or abbreviation in a different alphabet – like ‘DVD-то’ (the
DVD), ‘Oscar-ите’ (the Oscars). Like in the languages mentioned above, the
suffixes are not correct words by themselves. Considering that Estonian uses
the apostrophe for such suffixes, Italian has apostrophe-separated prefixes,
and other languages may have other separators, it makes sense to have a
generalized mechanism to configure the allowed affixes for foreign words –
together with any separators – per language. For example:

aff file:
FOREIGNWORDSFX S
FOREIGNWORDSFXSEP '-' # Would be ’ for Estonian

dic file:
ите/S # valid only immediately after a word in a different language and
separated by ‘-’

2021-04-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141611

Bug ID: 141611
Summary: Lock icon does not appear on newly protected sheets in
a new window
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.1.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: smilingf...@shaw.ca

Description:
In a new spreadsheet, with 2 windows displaying the same sheet, if sheets are
locked on one window, the lock icon does not appear on the sheets of the second
window, despite them being locked.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open an new spreadsheet
2. Open a second window
3. Add new sheets (will appear in both windows)
4. On the first sheet, protect the first sheet. A lock icon appears.
5. Trying to edit the first sheet in the second window yields a 'Protected
cells can not be modified' error, but no lock icon appears next to the sheet

Actual Results:
Sheet is locked, but no icon appears on the second window.
The icon does appear if another sheet is added or removed after being locked.

Expected Results:
A lock icon should appear on the windows open for the same file.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 141609] New: LibreCalc IF function incorrectly evaluates negative numbers

2021-04-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141609

Bug ID: 141609
Summary: LibreCalc IF function incorrectly evaluates negative
numbers
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 7.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: chuckarnett2...@gmail.com

Description:
My IF statement, comparing a negative sum in one cell to the sum of two
negative numbers from other cells, returns a false response when it should
return a true response. The IF statement is:
=IF(B18=B39+B59,"OK","No Match")
where B18 contains the formula =B8-B17 equal to (1,629.93), with B8 containing
=SUM(B3:B7) equal to 137,962.60, and B17 containing =SUM(B10:B16) equal to
139,592.53;
where B39 contains the formula =B29-B38 equal to (1,230.69), with B29
containing =SUM(B24:B28) equal to 136,936.06, and B38 containing =SUM(B31:B37)
equal to 138,166.75;
and where B59 contains the formula =B49-B58 equal to (399.24), with B49
containing =SUM(B44:B48) equal to 1,026.54, and B58 containing =SUM(B51:B57)
equal to 1,425.78.
So,B18=B39+B59 is (1,629.93)=(1,230.69)+(399.24), and is true. The IF statement
should return "OK" but it doesn't. Instead, it returns "No Match".
If I change the IF to read =IF(B18=B39+B59,"OK",B39+B59), it returns
(1,629.93). So it is doing the simple arithmetic correctly, but it does not
recognize that (1,629.93) is equal to (1,629.93).

Steps to Reproduce:
1.See the attached Calc spreadsheet. The formula is in B79. The modified
version is in B80.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
The IF statement is evaluated as false. Similar statements (in cells B64
through B79) evaluating components are all true. It appears that the problem
only occurs when negative numbers are compared.

Expected Results:
The software should recognize that B18=B39+B59 is
(1,629.93)=(1,230.69)+(399.24) and is true.

Reproducible: Always

Actually, in my case at hand, it would have been quite difficult to do the
summing first, if there is 16% VAT on the first amount and 19% VAT on the
second amount.

Apart from that I completely agree that this is a well known problem, like i.e.
here https://www.manager.io/guides/9499

But I think that most people would agree that in an invoice the numbers as
displayed or "on paper" have to add up, even if this means that the result is
mathematically less exact. The problem is that this case (see attachment
"screenshot calculated in normal way" ) does not happen every day, so a person
(like I) will be caught by surprise. Thus my request for a tooltip.

About Debian, I personnally use Debian testing (which has LO 7.0.4).
Stable is more for servers.

Could you indicate parameters you provided to the function?

About backtrace, when you got "??", type "c" (for "continue") until there's no
"??".
Then you can type "bt" (for "backtrace")

@Mike, *

Not opposed, but if we abandon the current view shell based ViewTop ViewLeft
calculations [1] on bIsOwnDocument, think we'd still like some way to use the
+ for a stack of recent cursor positions, i.e. bug 92821

Jim R. had tweaked the Navigation stack for the "Recency" mode of the
Navigator, but 115817, are those view shell cursor positions also, or something
else that could be picked up and written out to ODF?

@klsu: if you select cells C1 or C2 and look at the input line you will see a
deviation,
you may also get it visible with: '=RAWSUBTRACT(B2;E2)',
calc does some 'tolerant compare' to cover such small imprecisions, but keeps
the odd value and uses it for downstream calculations, one can argue the hour
and the day whether well done or not,
the source of evil is 'cancellation', and that no spreadsheet has good handling
for that so far ... :-(

in fp-math '=24,09 - 24' and thus '=mod(24,09;1)' unfortunately results in
8.986E-2, it's the effect of 'cancellation', and not avoidable by
successively subtracting '1', the step '=2,09 - 1' will fail too,

and calc doesn't apply rounding on date, year, month, day, hour or minute
values but 'truncation', rounding is only performed on seconds, there violating
it's own 'wall clock concept',

self-help for troubled users: round to meaningful amount of decimals digits,
e.g. '=Mod("value with two decimal places"; integer)' can have at most two
decimal places in the result, 'healing rounding', if you get the 'cut'
somewhere between the needed value and the fp-artifacts you are done,

or try 'literal calculations' with the digits given in the string,
'=RIGHT(C13;2)' or '=VALUE(RIGHT(C13;2))' would make it for this case,

idea for programmers: it is an old problem, concerning many areas /
calculations, and causes many irritations up to quarrels, whoever comes first
with a universal solution 'around the corner' will reap fame and glory, i don't
think the task is proven as 'unsolvable' ...

would like to reopen, but would also like to 'not enrage' @Matthew Francis,
choosing the latter ... ;-)

@k...@cox.net: 'Some people need to learn that computers and software are
supposed to work for people.' - thumbs up

besides: repro in 7.2.0.0.alpha0+

I confirm the problem with

Version: 7.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 807d059d99e7b99fe45a712428befa17ffa44858
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: en-GB
Calc: CL

But I agree, that the problem is about the image

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open attachment 170603 => TOC is splitted
2. select image on page two and drag it a litkte above, so that it is still
after the text, abut TOC is now on one page. Notive, that there are five empty
paragraphs between image and TOC
3. Save
4. Reload

Actual result:
TOC is again splitted on two pages and an extra empty paragraph is above or
below the image.

Gaido, do you get the same result?
