This is not a valid bug report, but a riddle

@Todd:
for me that all looks rather similar, there is a little problem with 3.5, you
have to close preview and reopen to see the result.

If you want to get something fixed, please create a document comparing
screenshots OOo - LibO for every detail that does not look as expected.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44347] New: Docking some panes is very unintuitive on X11 systems

2011-12-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44347

 Bug #: 44347
Summary: Docking some panes is very unintuitive on X11 systems
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.3.1 release
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: rgrocottbugzi...@gmail.com

Under Windows, it's possible to redock a floating pane by dragging it to the
edge of the screen. This isn't possible under Ubuntu Linux 10.10.

Certain panes (in particular, the Slide Pane in Impress, and the Page Pane in
Draw) don't contain a dropdown View menu in their header. X11 users therefore
have no obvious way to redock these panes. Worse, undocking is a very simple
action (click-and-drag), so users are likely to accidentally undock such panes
and find themselves unable to redock them.

While it is possible to redock panes using Ctrl + double left-click, this isn't
indicated anywhere except in a difficult-to-find part of the help
documentation. Would recommend either that a Dock/Undock toggle button is added
to the relevant panes' headers on X11 systems, or (if possible) drag-and-drop
redocking is implemented on those systems as in Windows.

 ...
Why did you not attach the requested documents?
 ...
imprecise or can not work in the way you write (at least on my PC):
 ...

I believe I mentioned that I can only see this issue in LibreOffice for Mac OS
X and my description therefore referred to Mac OS X. That you have to use
different keys (there isn't even a cmd key on Windows systems!) and ultimately
cannot reproduce this bug under Windows does therefore not really surprise me.

The basic issue here is that pasting text into a cell that has already text in
it, changes font and font size of some of the existing text. One can hardly see
that effect by looking at a static document. Anyway, I'll attach a Spreadsheet
file that shows the end result.

ZIP Archive with the described files

The crash does only occur in LibreOffice 3.4.4. It does not occur in version
3.3.4. I can reproduce it for LibreOffice 3.4.4 on Windows XP 32 Bit and on
Windows Vista 64 Bit as well.

In order to reproduce the issue please proceed as follows:

Enter the attached basic macro (file onOpenDocument.bas from attached ZIP
archive) via Tools - Macros - Organize Macros - LibreOffice Basic... as a
(global) standard macros.

Assign this macro to event Open Document saved in area LibreOffice.

Create a small csv file with file extension .csv.

Now open this file with LibreOffice Calc, enter the proper setting on the Text
Import ... dialog, and press OK on the following msgbox popup. This will
successfully close LibreOffice according to the macro code in version 3.3.4 but
will crash in version 3.4.4. More precisely, the system show the LibreOffice
Document Recovery popup with description Due to an unexpected error,
LibreOffice crashed. Sometimes Windows sends a popup with an application
error. The recorded entry from Vista application event log is also attached.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44352] New: Unable to run Writer without Java without first installing Java

2011-12-31 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44352

 Bug #: 44352
Summary: Unable to run Writer without Java without first
installing Java
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 Beta2
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: vcr...@gmail.com

I have been using Libreoffice 3.4.4 without Java installed and had disable Java
from within the settings after loading up Writer. Before installing
Libreoffice 3.5.0 Beta 2, I uninstalled 3.4.4.

After installing Libreoffice 3.5.0 Beta 2, I opened Writer. While Writer
loaded, multiple times, a dialog box showed up, mentioning about Java not being
detected. After clicking the ok button each time (it is the only button in the
dialogue box), writer appears to have closed; ie I couldn't get Writer to
complete loading up.

I attempted loading Writer again, same result. I attempted re=installing, same
result.

It was only after installing Java 6 and loading Writer that I could get into
Java. I could then disable Java from within writer and uninstall Java 6, to
get Libreoffice to run without Java.

Based on this, a few issues:
1) Writer should useable when loaded, at least until the Java dependent
functionality is actually required.
2) Libreoffice 3.5.0 Beta 2 is not taking into consideration settings of a
previous version.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44337] FORMATTING: sxc format lost

--- Comment #6 from Todd toddandma...@gmail.com 2011-12-31 13:10:04 PST ---
Hi Rainer,

This is what the customer told me: I have a lot of forms that will need to be
modified if we continue using Libre. With the form I originally complained
about, I ended up having to remove a couple of lines and rearrange so that
everything would fit on the page. Shrinking the margin was not enough.

I can see this with my own eye balls. If you can not see this, I suppose I
could circle all the differences in red? You can start with the couple of
lines that have to be removed and the shrinking the margins. There are two
problems for you to fix.

And if 3.5 close preview and reopen to see the result there is the another
bug for you to fix.

Oh, and in 3.5 b2, I can not find preview in the View pull down. Another
bug to fix.

Let me know if you want me to circle anything in red for you.

-T

p.s. how is envelope printing coming?
