Steps to reproduce: 1. Start and save 2 new Calc files (A.ods, B.ods) 2. Enter a data into cell A1 of A.ods and copy it 3. Select cell A1 of B.ods and go to Edit - Paste Special - Enable Link check box and press OK OR select DDE Link from Paste icon LO 3.5 does not insert a DDE link but only a regular file link and does not refresh link automatically when changes are made to A.ods. It has to be refreshed manually which defeats the whole purpose of DDE link.(It cannot be set to Auto via Edit - Link as it is greyed out.) Notice the formula on the input line is of a regular file link; {='file:///C:/Users/user name/Desktop/A.ods'#$Sheet1.A1} When it should look like this; {=DDE(soffice,C:/Users/user name/Desktop/A.ods,Sheet1.A1)} DDE links created with earlier versions are still there when opened with 3.5.x. Also, manually entering the DDE link formula works with 3.5.x as well.(It is too time consuming, not really a work around.) Therefore, the DDE link itself is still there. However, the function to insert it via Paste is not working properly. When pasting copied data as a link, be it a DDE link or allow user to choose whether to update the link manually or automatically. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Tabulator to subform not removable. First form: Tabs are sorted by position. When moving through a form the tabulator only works in the main-form. Second form: Tabs are sorted by automatic sorting. When moving through a form the tabulator works in main-form and subform. Most people wish this behaviour. When adding another subform and you wish, that the tabulator should go to the second subform, not to the first, you could not remove the tabulator from the first subform. Only way to remove a tab from a subform is to delete the subform. Could be a good idea to change tabulators in form and subforms manually, not only with automatic sorting. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43929 --- Comment #2 from rob...@familiegrosskopf.de 2012-05-01 00:21:54 PDT --- It's right. When creating tables there are many ways to set character-length to varchar-fileds and other fileds. But there ist no way to set max-value for pictures. There is only one way to put pictures in a table - controlfields in a form. There should be a possibiltity to set the max-value like it is in other fields of the form. The user should see a popup when the picture is bigger than max-value. So he can reduce the size of the picture. Example: database for a scool. Pictures of all students are in the database. Pictures where shot with digicam 12 MP. The database will immediately blow up to more than 1 GB. Pictures are only used at the pc-monitor and for very little pictures (passport photo). Could also be a good idea to reduce the pictures to the max-value, when the size is bigger. But I dont know if there is any function in LibreOffice which works like that from ImageMagic. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

The resulting bullet point list is still the ugly old one without identation etc. However, I figured out that the correct new defaults of bullet point lists are used if you create a text field and enable bullets on. Also if you choose a different layout that already uses bullet points, there it also works. It seems to me that the better defaults for bullet points were simply forgotten to be added to the default layout. However, I assume that must users create a slideshow on basis of the default layout (and don't use the other slide layouts). Can the new bullet point default setting also be added to the text area of the default layout? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 35459] EDITING second title page gets wrong page style
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35459 Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|NEW CC||b...@eikota.de --- Comment #2 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de 2012-05-01 08:42:24 PDT --- [REPRODUCIBLE] with LibreOffice 3.5.3.2 (Build-ID: 235ab8a-3802056-4a8fed3-2d66ea8-e241b80), German UI, running on MacOS X 10.6.8 German. Stepts to reproduce: 1) Start LibreOffice, create a new empty Writer (ODT) document. 2) Optional, but useful in order to make results visible easily: change the page style 'First page', e.g. by increasing the top margin and/or adding a background color, to make it look different from the 'Default' page style. 3) From the menu bar, select 'Format Title Page'; in the dialog window 'Title Pages', select 'Insert new title pages' (instead of 'Convert existing pages to title pages'); don't change any of the other settings, just click 'OK'. 4) A new page is added before the first page; the new page has the page style 'First page' -- good! 5) Repeat step 3. 6) A new page is added between page 1 (the title page) and 2 (the default page); but the new page has the page style 'Default' -- wrong! Expected behaviour: Step 5 should have exactly the same result as step 3: one new page of style 'First page' is added at the beginning of the document. Therefore, after step 5, there should be 3 pages in the document, both the 1st and the 2nd of page style 'First page'. Actual behaviour: After step 5, there are 3 pages in the document, of course, but only the 1st one is of page style 'First page', the 2nd is of page style 'Default'. * Additional observation: The results are the same if, in step 3 and within the 'Title Pages' dialog window, you change the count of title pages to insert from '1' to '2': two new pages are inserted at the start of the document, but only the 1st one is of style 'First page'. The results are also the same if, in step 5 and within the 'Title Pages' dialog window, you change the 'Place title pages' setting from 'Document start' (default value) to 'Page ...' and insert '1' into the edit field after the 'Page' value. But the results are DIFFERENT if, in step 5 and within the 'Title Pages' dialog window, you change the 'Place title pages' setting from 'Document start' (default value) to 'Page ...' and insert '2' into the edit field after the 'Page' value. Now both page 1 and 2 have the page style 'First page', as expected. * Some ideas: At the first glance, this looked like a very minor issue to me; I even wondered why someone should want to add more that one title page to a single document. But after thinking about it, I see at least three reasons why the current behaviour is wrong: 1) StefanW's description also has some ideas about the background of this bug, i.e. about what is going wrong here. If his ideas are right, there is an underlying problem (or error) behind the current behaviour which should get fixed. 2) The dialog window 'Title Pages' always speaks of 'title pages' in plurality -- the controls are labelled 'Insert new title pages', 'Place title pages', etc., and you can even insert more than one title page at once. So this function clearly should be able to insert more than one title page. And, well, a title page should have the page style 'First page' -- at least, this is the setting at the bottom of the 'Title Pages' dialog window. 3) The current behaviour is inconsistent: see my additional observation. Just changing the 'Place title pages' setting does not only change the place where the new page gets inserted, but also changes the page style used for it. We should either NEVER allow more than one page of style 'First page' per document, or the 'Format Title Page' function should always add pages of the page style selected at the bottom of the 'Title Pages' dialog window, which is, per default, the 'First page' page style. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49342 Bug #: 49342 Summary: TABLES Libre Office 3.5.2.2 (64 bit) crashes while trying to merge cells in an sxw table. Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: LibO 3.5.2 Release Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: maciej_powalow...@wp.pl 1. File in sxw format containing table with some merged cells and SUM cells, also saved as odt format (see attachments). 2. The 2 cells that are important for me to merge are highlighted in red, but in fact the crash happens with any other cells in this file (both the original and the saved as version). 3. This is a bug serious enough for me, as the merger IS IMPOSSIBLE, so in effect I have to make the table over again: not something to look forward to, especially that I've got a few of those old format files to work on. 4. Perhaps this bug will help resolve the other (reported) crash-bug, which is trying to merge cells in table pasted from spreadsheet as rtf. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 35900] Last page loses headers footers
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35900 Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|RESOLVED Resolution||NOTABUG CC||b...@eikota.de --- Comment #4 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de 2012-05-01 09:33:35 PDT --- I tried to reproduce this bug today. Using LibreOffice 3.5.3.2, German UI, running on MacOS X 10.6.8, I created a similar document (according to the sparse information given in Summary and original description) with 24 pages and a single endnote, and will attach it to this bug report for easier reference. Finally, I found that most probably there is NO bug here at all, but IMHO a simple misunderstanding. If you add headers and footers to a simple document, they are added to the 'Default' pagestyle. But if you create an endnote, it is placed on a new page at the end of the document which has the 'Endnote' page style. For the 'Endnote' page style, the header is empty by default (and there is no footer by default). If you want to have the same headers and footers on the endnote page(s), just go to the page(s) where the endnotes are placed, enable header and footer and add the same header and footer texts as on the other pages of your document. Then the pages with the text of your endnotes will just look like the other pages of the document. So IMHO this is no but at all, but a simple misunderstanding. Its background is the fact that the change of the page style before the (1st) endnote is not emphasized visually (no manual page break etc. -- why?), and therefore the user can easily overlook that the page style has changed and that he must add headers and footers again. Maybe we could improve the visual experience of endnotes handling a bit ... I close this bug as RESOLVED/NOTABUG. If my explanation of the problem is wrong, and if there is a real bug here, feel free to re-open this bug, but then please add a long and helpful description explaining what exactly goes wrong and why this is really a bug ;-). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Following the steps given by shumisha in his/her original description, I can report that the results are better now: if you open the .doc file again (step 4), the 1pt wide border is still present now. But two issues remain and should get fixed: 1) The shadow has the wrong color (it is black now, like the border, instead of grey). Also, if I manually change the shadow color to any color, this setting is lost after saving and opening again the .doc file: the color is black now again. 2) The 'Distance' setting for the shadow has changed (from 0.18cm, which was the default setting when I created the document, to 0.07cm). Also, if I manually change the 'Distance' setting to some other value, e.g., 0.5cm, this setting is lost after saving and opening the .doc file again: the value is 0.07cm again. I have also tried the other settings for the border. The border width and the border color (even if you use another color than black) are still correct after saving the file as .doc, closing and opening it again. The distance of the border from the contents are still present, too, but there are some rounding problems or like that: if I enter 0.4cm, 0.5cm, 0.6cm, 0.7cm, close and open then document again, the values are now 0.39cm, 0.49cm, 0.6cm, 0.67cm. The last value is, hm, a bit too different from the 0.7cm I entered ... So: 3) The distance of the page border from the page contents is saved inaccurately to .doc files. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I agree with you. Jan Holesovsky demoted the bug but I disagree with his/her decision. This is such a basic compatibility issue that it should be on the front burner. Rather than spending the time fussing and fiddling over the importance of the bug, I would truly appreciate it if Jan got his or her hands dirty solving the issue. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 49319] EDITING: Cannot change a polygon point to Smooth Transition
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49319 --- Comment #2 from David F Smith davidjudysm...@gmail.com 2012-05-01 13:05:53 PDT --- Created attachment 60867 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=60867 Shows creation of a polygon, then attempts to convert point to Smooth Transition In the movie, I create the 5-point polygon. Then I select the second point, a Corner Point, and click Smooth Transition repeatedly. The Smooth Transition button does not stick, and in fact the point is still a Corner Point, as I demonstrate by moving one of its control points.
