[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50132] Provide as-is order for groups in Reports

2012-07-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50132

--- Comment #3 from rob...@familiegrosskopf.de 2012-07-11 06:02:55 PDT ---
How would you make a sort statement without a field, which must be sorted? You
only have to show this field in the query or SQL-Code. Ist must not be used to
display anything in the report. It must only be used for sorting.
The only problem I see is, that you can not get a report with non-graded
groups. But I don't know, if anybody would need such groups.

In a multi-user environment the input in the little filter-table must be
blocked during the time the query needs it. Could be a way to create a view.
The database knows, who long the view works. When the view is working the input
in the filter-field could be blocked through the user.
I have not tested it - don't work with Base in a multi-user environment.
Have set the Importance to enhancement, because the only way to connect with
a macro to the report is to open the report - nothing else.

Checked today with current version LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 as well as pre-release
version pre-release 3.6.0.0 beta 3. In both cases, the same problem with table
sorting was observed as noted before. I am testing only with Win 7 Pro x64 with
SP 1 and all updates. Perhaps it behaves differently in a 32 bit version of
Windows.

If I open the same document in MS Word 2010 v14 (64 bit), the table sorts
correctly.

I have tested this with LO 3.6.0.0 Beta 3. It's a horror: Opening of the table
last about 70 seconds, Scrolling to the last value 400 seconds. Must be a
stopper for the new LO 3.6 - nobody will work with base any more with such a
slow version of base.
Will make a new bug-report for this.

Changed Status to NEW, because even if the bug is solved for the original
reporter (see comment #5) by our workaround (a new user profile), this
workaround is still a workaround and no fix. Also this report is of some
importance for the handling of our meta-bug 43489, because this present bug
report has got the attachment of the problematic profile folder. So don't close
this one, but leave it as NEW, linked to the meta bug.

Also adapted the summary to reflect our increased knowledge (and to make it
easier to find this bug when searching for User Profile-related problems).

2012-07-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51976

 Bug #: 51976
Summary: FILEOPEN: Base is horrible slow, when opening ans
scrolling throug a table in internal HSQLDB
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.6.0.0.beta3
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: blocker
  Priority: medium
 Component: Database
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: rob...@familiegrosskopf.de

We have a bug for LO 3.5:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51239
There is a database attached. Table opens in LO 3.3.4 at once, in 3.5 it lasts
about 70 seconds, also in 3.6 Beta 3.
Scrolling through a table is horrible slow in 3.6. Beta 3: 400 seconds to the
last row - 3.5 about 200 seconds to the last row and 3.3.4 at once.
This isn't the old problem with JRE under Linux-rpm. Have tested it with
different versions.
When using LO 3.6 the old behaviour with the wrong JRE-Version under Linux-rpm
comes back - for all versions. The rows will appear after some times bit by
bit.

I am able to reproduce this partly with Version 3.6.0.0.beta3 (Build ID:
3e2b862) on Linux (SLED11-SP1, x86_64, official upstream beta3 build).

I can change all colors in existing text. I am unable to change highlighting
color for newly created text.

Steps to reproduce:

1. open new Writer document
2. select any highlighting color in the toolbar
3. write any text

Result: The background of the newly written characters is white

Expected result: The background of the newly written characters should be the
 selected color.

Observation: The toolbar icon shows the selected color in the box under the
picture. It shows yellow and ans some dark red by default even
when
it print black letters on white background.

A first hint: from the crash log we can infer that Ran Liwag uses LibreOffice
on MacOS X 10.7.4. More and more I get the impression that we have some serious
stability problems especially on MacOS X 10.7.x; because on 10.6.8, which I
use, LibreOffice works quite well (if no accessibility features are enabled and
if the user profile is clean). One reason could be the way Apple delivers its
JRE/JDK now (see, e.g., bug 44679).

@Ran Liwag:
Thank you very much for the bug report! I'm sorry that LibreOffice crashes so
often for you. We can, however, try to find out if the reason for these crashes
is a known problem (and therefore a solution/workaround exists).

1) Could you please first try to reproduce with a brand new LO profile (see
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile)? We have at least on similar
bug report (see bug 51323) which reports about many crashes on MacOS X 10.7.x,
which was simply solved by resetting the user profile. Maybe this will help
you, too, so please try this.

2) Do you have any accessibility utilities enabled? This is to say, have you
enabled any of the options in the section Universal Access of the MacOS X
System Prefererences? E.g., VoiceOver or Zoom or Enable acces for
assistance devices? Or do you have installed any other special utilities like
a screenreader for people with visual impairment, or some window management
application like Moom, or anything similar? This point is important because
many accessibility utilities are known to cause crashes with LibreOffice ...
(see e.g. bug 47368 with many duplicates). So please try to disable any such
settings and utilities.

There is a good chance that one of these suggestion helps you. Please try them
and report here if one of them has helped to make LibreOffice run more stable
for you -- or not. Thank you very much in advance! If no one of these
suggestions helps, we can take further steps to track down the problem.

(In reply to comment #6/#7)

I did some changes on the code this winter and changed the default colours of
the buttons on request of Stefan Knorr.
The colours on the buttons are set to default colours or set to the last
applied colour, which may be different than the text colour. This is done on
purpose for the split button to have effect (apply default/last used colour
directly).
Example: type 'long text' in black, select 'long' apply
(background/highlight/font colour and 'long' gets that colour; when you place
the cursor back after 'text' and continue typing, the text is black and the
button stays you colour).

With Libo 3.6.0beta3 on WindowsXP I see no problems (although I did not test
every button/colour/text combination).

I am willing to help/assist with this problem, but can only build with openSUSE
(11.4/12.1) or test daily builds with Windows XP.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51943] text color setting is broken

2012-07-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51943

--- Comment #9 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de 2012-07-11 09:34:26 PDT ---
(In reply to comment #6)
I am able to reproduce this partly with Version 3.6.0.0.beta3 (Build ID:
 3e2b862) on Linux (SLED11-SP1, x86_64, official upstream beta3 build).

So we have
* a big bug on MacOS X (text/higlighting color changing
  almost completely broken),
* a small bug on Linux (unable to change highlighting color
  for newly created text),
* no problem at all on Windows?!

Observation: The toolbar icon shows the selected color in the box under the
picture. It shows yellow and ans some dark red by default even
when it print black letters on white background.

The same is true on MacOS X; just like on Petr's screnshot.

(In reply to comment #8)
I did some changes on the code this winter and changed the default colours of
the buttons on request of Stefan Knorr.
The colours on the buttons are set to default colours or set to the last
applied colour, which may be different than the text colour. This is done on
purpose for the split button to have effect (apply default/last used colour
 directly).

Does this mean that Petr's observation is not a bug, but a feature? ;-)
OK, maybe this is even better, we just have to get used to it.
So let's concentrate on the indisputable bug(s) ...

FWIW, confirming also on Mac OSX 10.7.4

Tested the following on LO 3.3.4 and LO 3.5.5 RC2 :

1) Load ODB test file from issue.
2) Select Tables in left hand pane of main window
3) Open table.
4)Wait for table to load, then click on the go to last record arrow button on
the table grid.

LO 3.3.4 :
- approximately 25 seconds in all from start to finish

LO 3.5.5 :
- loading the ODB file takes significantly longer.
- after clicking on go to last record button, the Mac beachball starts
spinning and thereafter takes approximately 2 minutes to complete, i.e. to
reach the last record in the data set.

Setting platform to All.

A good number of views pointing to this bug at ask as well (it happens to annoy

un-moved mouse cursor over that region causing the popup.

Since there's a task about this, I put it as a dup.

I agree, but I'm not sure if this is the correct way to proceed. Should we
(a) mark bug reports of this kind as a duplicate of the task bug report,
or should we
(b) just add them to the Depends on list of the task bug report?

Julien, you have asked the same question in some other, very similar bug
report. Did you get/find an answer?

I just want to get a consensus about this question to ensure that we all handle
such bugs in a consistent way. At the moment we use a mix of both ways ...

FWIW, I gave up trying to scroll down on the Mac in 3.5.5, doing so sends the
machine into a continuous loop/spinning beachball cycle.

I think the small bug on Linux is a feature too: The split button has three
functions;
-when no text is selected, you can select a colour. the mouse cursor changes to
a paint can (in Windows, my Linux machine here is building, which takes hours)
and any selection you make will be coloured.
-give the selected text the default/last used colour (left side of button)
-give the selected text the colour chosen from the pallet (right side of
button)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51976] FILEOPEN: Base is horrible slow, when opening ans scrolling throug a table in internal HSQLDB

Hello Lionel,

this isn't a duplicate of
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51239

With LO 3.5 you could work - its slow, but not so slow as LO 3.6 Beta 3. LO 3.6
Beta3 is a horror for everybody, who will work with the internal database. Its
a little difference between 200 seconds and 400 seconds scrolling with the same
JRE trough a table. Is a great difference to LO 3.3.4 with about 3 seconds ...

When this is a duplicate we have to change Importance at 51239 to highest and
blocker. 51239 was reported for LO 3.5. Opening in LO 3.5 isn't like it is in
LO 3.6 Beta 3, where rows appear step by step.

I had reported a bug, which should show a difference between LO 3.5.* and LO
3.6 Beta 3:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51976
This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 51239.
When you write here, that it's extremely slow, you will get a shock if you try
to open a table like the examples above in 3.6. Beta 3.
For everybody who will use base 3.6 Beta 3 is not usable so. But I can't change
the Importance of this bug, because it is reported for LO 3.5.*. What should we
do?

Hi Alex, the profiler report looks rather interesting (thanks so much for
trying all these tools at LibreOffice !). Having said that - its' hard for me
to see where the profiler thinks most of the time has gone ... is there any
%age estimation / call-count or absolute time measurement in there to use ? I
just saw traces.

sberg - IIRC Lionel is fairly convinced this is a Java stack-guard slowness,
and I guess we're hoping to have that ruled out before digging much further. I
believe we fixed that - right ? There is a whole lot of:

Is it possible that there is some horrible leak / performance problem /
re-marshalling in the inter-apartment code ?

- I see a windows where there's a button SWT Browser but when I click on it,
nothing at all.

nothing at all means there is no SWT window shows?
the addon shows a simple SWT Browser window when the button clicked. if
nothing at all means this window doesn't show then i have no Idea.

thanks.

Yes, there's no new window when I click on this button.

Could you do this test on newer version (like 3.5.4) ? Perhaps there has been
changing on the api or config parameters.

 this isn't a duplicate of
 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51239

With LO 3.5 you could work - its slow, but not so slow as LO 3.6 Beta 3.

I see; it is even slower. I had not understood that. Then, indeed it is
probably yet another problem that piles up *on* *top* of bug 51239, and needs
its own bug.

@Giuseppe Simonetta:
Thank you very much for attaching the document! It is an impressive sample ...

NOT REPRODUCIBLE on MacOS X 10.6.8 (Intel) with
* LibreOffice 3.5.3.2
* LibreOffice 3.5.5.3 (Build-ID: 7122e39-92ed229-498d286-15e43b4-d70da2)
* LibreOffice 3.6.0.0.beta3 (Build ID: 3e2b862),
all with German langpack installed. Exporting the document as PDF file takes
some time, but works well. (Some of the formulas look wrong, of course, but
this is another bug!)

This suggests that the crash is
* either confined to LibreOffice on Windows
* or was already fixed in LibreOffice 3.5.3 ... (comment #2 mentions 3.5.2).

So, more testing is necessary.

sberg - IIRC Lionel is fairly convinced this is a Java stack-guard slowness,

At the time of comment 6, this looked like the best guess. Information in later
comments seems to suggest that maybe not, or at least a *different* stack-guard
problem than bug 35023, but it could also be a *different* Java - C++
interface problem.

I've a few ideas why it could be slow in general, but none of them explains why
this is a regression in 3.5 with respect to 3.4:

 - HSQLDB I/O is redirected to our ZIP-file structure; unless we cache
the whole thing, this must be problematic if HSQLDB tries to read the
*end* of the file or write to the *begin* of the file: the whole file
   has to be (de)compressed.

   This happens in connectivity/com/sun/star/sdbcx/comp/hsqldb,
git log suggests no change since Oct 2010 there!

 - There seems to be codepaths where information that has *just* been fetched
is refreshed (and thus fetched again) a fraction of a second later.
But even if there were a regression in that in 3.5, that would be
a factor 2 or max 5, not the horrible times seen here.

I think the small bug on Linux is a feature too [...]

OK; so what is left seems to be yet another MacOS X-only problem.

@Thorsten Behrens:
This is yet another MacOS X-only bug, and you are our MacOS expert, therefore I
add your address to the CC list of this bug. Please have a look at it, and
please (I know there are many other bugs, I know ...) try to do it soon,
because this is a really annoying regression which makes changing the text
color or text highlight color impossible on MacOS X. It is embarrassing to ship
3.6 with such an obvious regression, so we should try to fix this soon.

@Winfried Donkers,
@Caolán, Cédric, Michael Stahl:
Please try to help Thorsten with this issue, if possible, because there are
already so many MacOS X-only issues assigned or CCed to him (not to mention the
Impress etc. issues) that he will hardly find time to fix them all ... ;-)

MS Word 2010 (Starter) colour selectors

Just adding to comment 8 here:
Yes, what Petr observed is indeed intended as a time-saving feature with which
you can quickly select a useful new text/highlight colour. This feature has
also been available in MS Office for quite some time – see attached screenshot.
There's one difference between LibreOffice and MSO, though, and that is that
MSO doesn't preselect a new paragraph background colour – I'm not sure why.

(Yes, this means that the colour selectors aren't indicators any more, but then
again, the actual (usually clearly visible) text/highlight colour should serve
be the ultimate indicator.)

---

Regarding the little bug on Linux mentioned in the previous bug: that clearly
is intended behaviour, although, I don't really know if it is still sensible –
personally, I find the paint can mode rather counter-intuitive. In any case,
it should be discussed in a different bug.

NOT REPRODUCIBLE with LibreOffice 3.5.4.2, German UI, on Windows XP --
exporting the sample document works fine.

So the reported crash
* does either depend on some special circumstances, e.g. on the Windows version
or on the presence of a specific (buggy) font,
* or was already fixed in between.

@Giuseppe Simonetta:
Please download a recent version of LibreOffice (3.5.4 at the moment, or 3.5.5,
which contains many more useful fixes and will be released in some days) and
try if you can still reproduce the crash or if the problem is fixed for you,
too. And please report here the results. This would be very helpful. Thank you

 - If the SQL command has an ORDER BY *and* the report does not

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50132] Provide as-is order for groups in Reports

--- Comment #4 from Ulf Zibis ulf.zi...@gmx.de 2012-07-11 13:47:01 PDT ---
(In reply to comment #3)
How would you make a sort statement without a field, which must be sorted?

Yes, you can't, but one could have a data source with no ordering field, but
wants to create a report, ordered as is. Examples:
- table with given order
- imported/bind spread sheet
- query form external db where user has no access to create additional query
with ordering field

Regardless of above, in any database operations, the order by facility is
optional, why should it be mandatory in report builder?

The only problem I see is, that you can not get a report with non-graded
groups. But I don't know, if anybody would need such groups.

See above + why should user create a duplicate query additionally to a still
needed query without the ordering field?

Original PNG file that doesn't render correctly in Writer.

This picture is one of several I have drawn of this style.

I thought maybe the problem was the size, but was unable to find a shrunken
size which would render clearly. Any shrinking results in the image being
de-focused, as though the program was being forced to enlarge it to import it
into the file.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 37361] LibreOffice 3.5 most annoying bugs

2012-07-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37361

Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Depends on||47368

--- Comment #342 from Roman Eisele b...@eikota.de 2012-07-11 13:58:33 PDT ---
I have resisted for a long time, but finally I have to nominate bug 47368 -
Many crashes when accessibility enabled on Mac.

I have resisted for a long time, because this is not an easy candidate:
* the problem is limited to a single platform (MacOS X);
* it is not always reproducible out of the box;
* it is not clear where the problem comes from, i.e. if the bug is in our code
  or in Apple's code.

But nevertheless, it is definitely a most annoying bug, and so I *have* to
nominate it:
* it affects quite more users than you may think (see the duplicates
listed in bug 47368; and there are even more similar bug reports
which are just not marked as duplicates of bug 47368!)
* it causes crashes about crashes for the users which suffer from it;
* these crashes appear in many different actions, giving our users
  the (wrong) impression that every piece of LibreOffice was unstable;
* therefore this bug has the potential to drive users crazy;
* and to make them leave LibreOffice once and for good.

You may object: We have an easy workaround: just disable the MacOS
accessibility features, and LibreOffice is stable again; this is true, but
IMHO it does not make this bug less annoying:
* It is very difficult for normal users to discover any connection between
the crashes in LibreOffice and the MacOS accessibility features,
* therefore normal users will not discover the workaround easily;
* we, the QA volunteers, have to ask people again and again to check
their accessibility settings, which shows that people even forget
about these settings (and therefore will not use the workaround,
  even if we list it in the release notes and read_me files);
* for many people which are physically disabled/handicapped in one or
the other way the accessibility features are vitally necessary,
so they just CAN NOT disable them
* and have to leave LibreOffice instead;
* therefore this workaround is NOT a workaround for them.

In addition, it gives me a rather bad feeling about LibreOffice that we
unwillingly discriminate people (physically disabled/handicapped people) which
are already discriminated by our way of live in many ways. This is a bad thing
to do for free and open software -- it should be free and open also in the
meaning of being easily accessible and usable for as many people as possible.

Therefore, we need to track down this issue some day. Even if we can't fix it
because the problem is in Apple's code (I don't believe this, because many
other applications seem to work fine with accessibility features enabled,
including other office applications!), we need to find out about this, either
in order to fix it (together with Apple) or at least to explain to our users
that the crashes are not our fault.

Sorry for this rant -- no offence! -- I just wanted to state clearly why this
bug, even being limited to a single platform and not easy to track down, is
nevertheless an important (!) candidate for our most annoying bugs list. So
please don't remove it from this list, but let's think together about what we
can to do to solve this issue.

Another test kit, confirming that the bug is reproducible with Writer on
Windows

This bug is not limited to MacOS X; it is reproducible in the same way with
LibreOffice 3.5.4.2, German UI, on Windows XP.

The attachmend contains again:
* an .odt document with lines of text including em-dashes in different fonts,
* a Windows screenshot which shows that all em-dashes look OK in LibreOffice,
* and an PDF file created on Windows XP showing again that every em-dash,
which uses a font in .otf format, is converted to an en-dash in the PDF file.

NB: to view the .odt files in both of my test kits, you may need to install
(some of) the fonts which I have used. This should be no problem, because many
of them are freely available on the web (see the list in my original
description above); just be sure to install the .otf version of these fonts
(some of them are also available in other formats). If you have any problems to
get the fonts to test with just contact me. But even without installing the
fonts, everybody can compare the PDF files with the screenshots ;-)

Classification: Unclassified

  Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Presentation
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: gbpach...@gmail.com

Paste as a link on Impress could be a good choice in many instances when
copying a chart from a Calc spreedsheet.

The difference from the other paste options would be that each time the
spreedsheet data is changed, the pasted chart on presentation will reflect this
new data.

So the presentation will always current with any new data changes from the
spreadsheet file. This option is very useful for users who migrated from
Microsoft Office 2010 to LibreOffice.

Thanks!

Calc test kit

And this bug is not limited to PDF export from Writer -- it is also present in
Calc. Attached you will find a ZIP file containing:

* a simple Calc spreadsheet (.ods) containing samples of different fonts;
* a screenshot made with LibO 3.5.5.3 on MacOS X 10.6.8,
  showing that LibO displays all fonts correctly, including the em-dashes;
* PDF files created from the Calc file with LibO 3.5.5.3 and 3.6 beta 3,
which both show that all em-dashes with fonts in .otf format
become en-dashes + following empty space in the PDF export.

Again, the most impressive lines are the ones comparing the output from Linux
Biolinum G to Linux Biolinum O and Linux Libertine G to Linux Libertine O:
while the lines in the G fonts (.ttf + Graphite) contain correct em-dashes, the
lines in the O fonts (.otf fonts) are almost identical, only that the em-dashes
become en-dashes.

It seems that if the user fails to press Enter after typing a directory name
in the file Open dialog, the the program ignores the changed directory name.
I describe a situation leading to a message filename not found, but it is
possible to make the program open a same-named file from the wrong directory.
I remember seeing comparable behaviour saving a file, but it is the other way
around in that the program's complaint is that the named file already exists.

The good news is that a simple workaround exists: press Enter after typing
the directory name and before typing the file name. The program then
refreshes the list of files in the named directory and goes on correctly from
there.

I have master commit id a3a0b81, pulled around 2012-10-10 17:45 UTC and built
with options

--enable-symbols
--enable-dbgutil
--enable-crashdump
--disable-build-mozilla
--without-system-postgresql
--enable-debug
--enable-werror

and configured in Tools Options LibreOffice General to use LibreOffice
dialogs. My platform for build and execution is

$ uname -a
Linux cougar-natty 2.6.38-15-generic #60-Ubuntu SMP Tue May 22 11:30:47 UTC
2012 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux
$ gcc --version
gcc (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.5.2-8ubuntu4) 4.5.2

The full steps to recreate would consist mostly of creating a LO file in a
place accessible to users on different systems. Perhaps you will let me get
away with some steps along the way to the problem:

(1) Shell command shows existence of file.

$ ls -l /home/terry/Documents/rzkh.odb
-rw-r--r-- 1 terry terry 4270 2012-06-01 11:55
/home/terry/Documents/rzkh.odb

(2) In LibreOffice, I took menu option File Open. Program presents dialog
Open, showing directory name /home/terry/lo_hacking/notes/bug_047520 and
blank file name. Attached document has an image of the dialog.

(3) In the open dialog I changed directory name to /home/terry/Documents/ and
typed file name rzkh.odb and clicked Open. Actual behaviour: the
program (seems to form full pathname using the originally presented
directory name and the file name that I entered and) presents dialog
complaining that a file does not exist; attached document has an image of
the desktop.

Expected behaviour: the program should connect to the backend database and
display the Base window.

screenshot, different result but still wrong

( Yes, I know that this bug is RESOLVED NOTOURBUG, but I had already started to
prepare this comment. )

In the environment described in the description of fdo#51987 (short version:
Linux, master pulled yesterday), my results are changed but still wrong.

First, the results from isql, which I take to be right:

$ isql bug_047520

SQLRowCount returns 4

But Base shows rows with nr 1, 2, and 2, and the bottom of the Table
Data View indicates that the table has three rows. Attaching
screenshot of the Table Data View.

@LEM ...

I have built the driver, sqliteodbc-0.87, with debug symbols to make
it easier to look into this bug. But the dynamic typing used by
sqlite makes me doubt the possibilty of a robust solution. And now I
see that fdo#38811 default to SQLite not HSQLDB in Base has been
declined; I wish I had been following that bug report. These two
downers just about kill my interest, unless you want to tell me
otherwise.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51666] Formatting

2012-07-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51666

--- Comment #2 from Pincus Weitzman spweitz...@gmail.com 2012-07-11 16:47:55
PDT ---
Dear Valek:

I shall try to be as detailed as I can.

My spreadsheet worksheet was designed when I was using Open Office.
It has solid vertical lines dividing columns.
Now I want to alter some of the solid lines to either dotted lines or
no line at all.
I select a column, right click, choose formatting, select borders,
select what I require, select the right or left vertical line, click
OK. Vertical line is changed. Good. Try to do the same with another
column doesn't work. Choose a different new line and it works
- also only once.
It does not matter what type vertical line you start with, the process
will only work once for a given replacement line.
Close the program, reopen it and you can change another vertical line,
but only once.

I hope this has given you the picture of what is going on. This did
not occur in Open Office. Please try to fix this. I do not want to
reinstall Open Office simplt to format my vertical lines more easily.

Regards
Pincus Weitzman

 Hello Pinkus,

Could you provide more detailed description of what you are doing (how to
 reproduce it)?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51890] On MacOS X, the progress bar and the new splash screen graphics are mis-aligned

2012-07-11 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51890

--- Comment #4 from Astron heinzless...@gmail.com 2012-07-11 16:56:04 PDT ---
Hi Roman,

actually, it should be easy for you to help, as all you need to do is edit a
configuration file. See here on how to do it on Mac OS:
http://maketecheasier.com/how-to-remove-openoffice-splash-screen-for-good/2008/10/15

Naturally, you don't want to disable the splash screen in this case, so don't
set Logo = 0, instead set
NativeProgress = false
in the same file.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48681] : Grid display of a query in a subform does not show all fields correctly

Could be a problem with Java and LO 3.5. In your form are listfields. The
listfields aren't shown - only the values that were in the table. When you
click at the column-header it could be, that there appear the listfields with
the text, as in the example of OpenOffice (which version?).
An attachment with an example-database would be helpful.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by listfield. Of the fields which don't
appear correctly, two are simple text fields (Name, Comment), the third
(Supplier) comes from a linked table.

Clicking on the column header does nothing at all.

I did not mean a magical URL that always redirects to the newest available
version, but a stable URL for each available version including the newest.

The download scripts at the websites fetch the content of
http://download.documentfoundation.org/stable/
so this is the permanent link, any further subfolders have to be temporary due
to ongoing releases.

Corrected database - problems with macros inside

Opening the original database the macro-warning appears. Disabling macros an
openening the form in OOo 3.3, LO 3.3.4 and LO 3.5.5 - all the same: 0 is show,
not any text. First I thought that were listfields, were you can change the
text and the number is written in the table. But that are fields for text.
Haven't seen such a behaviour before. So I tried to delete all macros inside. I
could delete the macor for executing xray - nothing else. When I deleted the
Module1 it appears again by next opening of the file. Don't know, what it is.
After deleting the macro it works with all office-versions.
There is something corrupt in the file, because the macro-warning appears and
Module1 exists again after it was deleted.
Remark: You could get a smaller file, when you run SHUTDOWN COMPACT in Tools
→ SQL, after you have deleted much rows of a table.

There's only the Xray macro (linked to the button) in there. If you delete it
the macro seems to disappear, but the module remains. Is this a bug?

I didn't know about SHUTDOWN COMPACT - thanks. Would have saved some upload
time!

When you say it works without the macro, you've already said that you couldn't
delete the macro. I don't quite understand! I've deleted the macro and still
have the bug. I've shut down LO, but not rebooted, so maybe I should try that
just in case.
