Still [Reproducible] with parallel installation of LOdev 4.0.0.0.alpha1+ -
ENGLISH UI / German Locale [Build

22012-12-03 09:03:45} on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) with own separate
User Profile

I already found the reason.

With 'Format - CF - Manage - Delete' I deleted all conditional formatting,
and the bad effect disappeared.

Hope you won't become angry with me ;-)

--- Comment #31 from markusN nete...@gmail.com ---
(In reply to comment #28)
I decided to close this Bug because we never will get a fix (because the
 problem still is absolutely unknown).

Here we have a horrible bunch of documents,

This is a nonsense. Please take the time to count:

3 Open Documents
5 PDF as proofs
1 PNG as proof

nobody can expect what they are
for and under what circumstances it might be to reproduce what bug ever.

Then just read the related comments attached to the
uploaded documents.

Currently it seems that we discuss a PDF viewer bug?

Unfortunately not. Various viewers fail. The uploaded
test documents produce proper PDFs in OpenOffice as
stated above. Only LibreOffice fails to turn the test
document into a proper PDF file.

 So INVALID

Luckily reopened. I agree with other reporters here that this
level of arrogance is a bit disturbing.

 @reporter:
I see that the bug still exists for you, so please report a new bug. What we
need is an idiot proof description how to reproduce the problem.

Cough, see comments above.

This problem remains a showstopper for LibreOffice.

 @Markus:

No. It's good to find the bug reports early.

The problem is most likely the new copy conditional format code. It has to do
more checks and adapt the range of the conditional format. However I need to
profile it and see where we can improve the performance if it turns out that
this is the problem.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57922] New: PDF Export: Field Command Pages produces wrong count

2012-12-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57922

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 57922
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: PDF Export: Field Command Pages produces wrong count
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: richard.l...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.5.7.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 71042
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=71042action=edit
Example Spreadsheet

When using the PDF-Export Dialog (via File - Export as PDF...) in Calc and the
field command Pages (##) in footer/header. The field command Pages upon
export is entered with a wrong count.

How to reproduce:
1. Open attached Spreadsheet (Page-Test.ods)
2. Choose File - Export as PDF...
2.a Under Range, select Pages and 1-3
3. Hit Export
4. Open exported pdf-File with 3 pages

Current behavior:
5. On the footer of each page it reads x of 6 (pages) - although there are
only 3 pages in total.

Expected behavior:
5. On the footer of each page it should read x of 3 (pages).

This is especially annoying when passing the pdf to other people. Due to the
wrong count x of 6 instead of x of 3, people miss the other pages - which
triggers unneeded questions/answers i.e. phone calls/emails/etc.

The misplaced buttons appear at the bottom of the panel

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. start LibO without component to get the welcome view
2. made LibO window fullscreen
3. select View Toolbars Standard
4. close LibO
5. restart LibO on welcome view

Current behavior:
The three buttons More templates, More extensions and website are slightly too
low and a little bit outside the panel

Expected behavior:
These three buttons should be on the same place as in not fullscreen mode or
without Standard toolbar.

Workaround:
- do not use Standard toolbar, but I love it ;)
- change window size, and put it again fullscreen

Tested versions : LibO 3.4.0, LibO 3.4.5 (Portable), LibO 3.4.6, LibO 3.5.7,

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56953

--- Comment #3 from Antonis antonis...@windowslive.com ---
I installed 3.6.4 today and I can give more details now. If you type 2nd, for
example, press specebar and continue writing, nd goes to the exponent and
the following words have a normal position. However, if after specebar, you
press backspace, then all the following words are in the exponent and the
user must select manually normal position.
Maybe this is not a bug but an intentional feuture. Anyway, I checked out
Microsoft Word 2010, which allows the user to edit the exponent of the ordinal
and then goes automatically to the normal position for the next words.

Of course we need info what installer from what source for what OS you used.
Why did you check Estensions list and not available languages in menu 'Tools -

Rainer: ok to put NOTOURBUG?

Michael: I didn't find this extension on http://extensions.libreoffice.org .
If we wanted to maintain this extension (for example to have a localized

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57929] New: Switching between absolute relative external references not possible (regression)

2012-12-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57929

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 57929
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Switching between absolute relative external
references not possible (regression)
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: gerry.trep...@googlemail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.5.4 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description: It does not work anymore to switch between absolute
relative references in Calc if the reference comes from an external file. This
used to work in previous versions, so it is a regression. In the tested
version, Calc gives an error message No references found.
IMHO this is a very often used feature in spreadsheet programmes, since many
values may be imported from other files (e.g. financial calculations). This
regression makes Calc almost useless when working with external references.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new Calc spreadsheet and write the value 1 in cell A1. Save the
file.
2. Create a second file
3. Type in the second file in cell A2 = and pick with the mouse the cell A1
from the first file. You will see the value of the first file in the second
file. So far, everything works fine. What you see is a relative reference.
4. Click in cell A2 in the second file and try to hit Shift F4. This
should switch from relative references ='file:///test.ods'#$Sheet1.A1 to the
absolute reference ='file:///test.ods'#$Sheet1.$A$1. This does not work
anymore. You get the error message No references found.

Cross-check: This feature still works if the reference is in the same file:
5. In the second file write the value 2 in cell B1.
6. Type in the second file in cell B2 = and pick with the mouse the cell B1
in the same file. You see the value as relative reference.
7. Hit Shift F4 and you see that the relative reference switches to an
absolute reference =$B$1.

My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium.
In the list of available dictionaries I can see English (GB-USA) and Slovenian.
However, no english word is underlined with red, even if I set the main
language of the text to English from Tools - Options - Language Settings -
Languages.
What is more, in the same tab, in the default language menu, there is an ABC
tick only for Greek. In 3.5 all the installed dictionaries were shown in the

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57930] New: Intermittant freeze in splash screen when starting with a file to open

2012-12-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57930

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 57930
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Intermittant freeze in splash screen when starting
with a file to open
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: jwoi...@just42.net
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.2.2 release
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

A number of my Linux users are having Libreoffice freeze during the splash
screen on an intermittant basis (that is, the splash screen freezes up before
the progress bar has completed its move to the right, and no other Libreoffice
windows appear). It has been determined that this only happens if they are
starting Libreoffice with a file to open (eg: from the command line with
swriter foobar.odt or double-clicking on an ODT file in a file manager
environment). However, the fault does not occur every time this is done. It's
hard to estimate the frequency, but my first order guess would be perhaps one
in every 20 starts. If Libreoffice is started without a file to open (eg: from
the command line with swriter or via a desktop icon) the fault does not seem
to be triggered. Similarly, opening a file when any component of Libreoffice
is already running successfully also does not trigger the bug in our
experience.

Attempting to open other documents with Libreoffice when the fault condition is
present is unsuccessful; unsurprisingly they appear to be blocking until the
first instance has started correctly.

This problem has most recently been observed in the Libreoffice 3.6.2 release.
We have been observing it at least since 3.5.0.

The bug appears to be far easier to trigger if the file being opened resides on
an NFS volume.

Libreoffice quickstart is not running on the affected system.

I have tried various hacks to work around this but they all fail to prevent the
intermittant freeze. Firstly, in the soffice script SAL_ENABLE_FILE_LOCKING
was set to 0. We then tried with it undefined. The SAL_NO_XINITTHREADS line
in the soffice script was commented out but again the fault recurred. Finally,
oosplash was made into a symlink to soffice.bin. Curiously the splash screen
was still shown, and disappointingly the intermittant fault sill occured when
this was in place.

The system on which this fault has been observed the most is a stock 32-bit
Slackware 13.1 Linux distribution (2 GB RAM, Pentium D (dual core) at 3.4 GHz,
Intel 82945G/GZ integrated graphics, intel Xorg driver, 2.6.33.4 kernel, xfce4
desktop). However, it has also been seen on a PC running 32-bit Slackware
13.37 (1 GB RAM, Athlon XP CPU at 2 GB, Nvidia GeForce2 MX graphics, Nouveau
Xorg drivers, 3.6.3 kernel, fvwm2 window manager, libreoffice started only from
command line).

At the time of the freeze there are two processes running: oosplash and
soffice.bin. The attachments gdb_info-oosplash and gdb_info-soffice provide
thread information about both these processes as recorded during a freeze. I
have tested through strace, and will attach an trace from a working
(strace-ok.log) and frozen (strace-freeze.log) invocation so long as I don't
run into size limitations. All these attachments were recorded while using
Libreoffice 3.5.5.

Finally, this may or may not be related to bug 50686. The description offered
in that bug suggests that the problem in bug 50686 is a freeze or immediate
quit, with no normal behaviour being observed. We are not seeing any
spontaneous application exits and the issue we're seeing is intermittant, so I
expect 50686 is a different issue.

--- Comment #2 from BrendaEM brendieel...@yahoo.com ---
By placing a textured background representing paper, eyestrain may be reduced
as the eye has additional geometry to focus on rather than just the edges of
the fonts. For this reason, most ebook readers offer such an option.

Optimally, the user could specify a repeating texture for the background of
Writer, which is not embedded or saved in the document. The purpose of the
background is only to ease reading eyestain.

(Having written 250,000 words in writer, I wish this option existed before.)

Additionally and currently, the horizontal scrollbars appear even when the
entire width of the text can be seen, which is suboptimal for zooming.

We have a choice, Librieoffice can play catch-up with commercial applications
in a minefield of patents, or it can move ahead.

  @Markus:
Hope you won't become angry with me ;-)

No. It's good to find the bug reports early.

The problem is most likely the new copy conditional format code. It has to
do more checks and adapt the range of the conditional format. However I need
to profile it and see where we can improve the performance if it turns out
 that this is the problem.

Oh. Can you please retest this with beta1? Before that the old bug that cond
format range was not correctly updated during the copy sheets operation would
have resulted in some of the problems mentioned here.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57931] New: Text Import dialog does not take focus, which causes it to be lost in the stack of LibreOffice windows

2012-12-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57931

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 57931
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Text Import dialog does not take focus, which causes
it to be lost in the stack of LibreOffice windows
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: b...@indietorrent.org
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.3.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 71067
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=71067action=edit
Screenshot demonstrating that the Text Import dialog is not visible within
LibreOffice's jump-menu on the Windows Taskbar

If I already have one or more LibreOffice spreadsheets open, and I then open a
.CSV file that requires me to choose some Import options, I find that the Text
Import dialog does not take focus. This behavior causes me to think that the
file failed to be opened for an unknown reason.

The Text Import dialog doesn't appear in the stack of LibreOffice Taskbar
icons, either. Nor does the dialog appear in Windows Explorer's Alt-Tab list.
So, even if I suspect that the dialog is there, somewhere, I can't ever find it
-- unless I guess the parent window to which it is attached and select said
window.

I notice that the dialog attaches itself to a parent window. If I have four
(4) spreadsheets open in LibreOffice, the dialog seems to attach itself to one
of them at random. I know better than to believe that it's at random, but
there's no readily-discernible logic behind to which open window the dialog is
attached.

The attached screenshot demonstrates clearly that dialog does not appear in the
so-called jump list on the Windows Taskbar. So, how is the user supposed to
find this dialog when he opens a document from his Desktop, for example?

It bears mention that this issue is particularly annoying when restoring a
crashed LibreOffice session. All of the restored documents open, except for the
document that is waiting for me to choose Text Import options. And, again,
the dialog does not steal focus, as it should, which leaves me guessing.

Worse yet, once the dialog is open (and lost somewhere within the parent
stack), further attempts to open the document (e.g., from the Desktop) yield no
action whatsoever. The Windows waiting cursor appears and spins for a moment,
and then it disappears without LibreOffice, nor any of its attendant windows,
ever taking focus. Bad for business.

Screenshot demonstrating that LibreOffice will not open multiple documents
simultaneously from within Windows Explorer

If I select several LibreOffice documents simultaneously and attempt to open
them all at once -- either by pressing the Enter key -- nothing happens. If I
then attempt to right-click any of the selected documents and choose Open
from the right-click context menu, I find the Open option to be missing from
the context menu.

Please see attached screenshot for example.

I modify Version due to original report.

@Antonis
Please excuse me, my mistake, I lead you to the USER-dictionaries, but
interesting are the standard directories you find under 'Tools - Options -
Language Settings - Languages - Default languages for documents '. There you
should see lots of languages with checkmark (Means Available, for example
English (UK) and French (France). Our further discussion should be concerning
French (France).

If you do no see thatwith checkmark in the languages list, please try whether
your problem persists when you renamed your user profile before you launch LibO
(please see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#User_profile_location)
and report your results.
From what Version did you update?

This is definitively NOTORURBUG (and more or less not a bug), we can't force
anybody in the world to create localized Extensions working with Libo.

But:
The Extension is Public domain, and it should be easy to create translated

Status: UNCONFIRMED

When writing, editing, scrolling and reading. Every minute it states not
responding. This is frustrating when editing and I highlight a word to change
and I have to wait for LibreOffice to respond. When writing the text does not
appear until LibreOffice responds again. If I need to add a comma during
editing, I will click in the space and not responding shows and I have to
wait for LibreOffice to respond again before I can continue. When scrolling
down a page it just stops and not responding is showing. Then all of a
sudden LibreOffice will respond and I find I scrolled too far due to
LibreOffice not responding while I was scrolling. This never happened
before. The problem just began today. Thank you for your time with this
issue.

Hello Florian,

this little bug about the front/home page of www.libreoffice.org/ is

And that is bad ...

Do you know who is responsible for the website, especially for the script which

I have reopened this bug.

Bug 56316 which it has been marked as a duplicate of has been fixed in 3.6.4.3

However, this exact bug still remains.

I have attached two files; one shows the original file and the other the same
file after copying the sheet (suing the right click menu on the sheet name).
The conditional formatting is missing from the copy.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the original file (or any .ods file with conditional formatting).
2. Use the right click menu on the sheet name to copy the sheet (to the same
file).
3. Conditional formatting is visible on both the original and the copy.
4. Save the file.
5. Open the file.
6. Conditional formatting is now missing from the copy.

OR

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the original file (or any .ods file with conditional formatting).
2. Use the right click menu on the sheet name to copy the sheet (to a new
file).
3. Conditional formatting NOT is visible on the copy.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43692] FORMATTING text:use-soft-page-breaks not honoured

2012-12-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43692

--- Comment #4 from sasha.libreoff...@gmail.com ---
Copy-pasting from:
Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenDocument) v1.1:
Use Soft Page Breaks
The text:use-soft-page-breaks attribute specifies whether the document contains
soft page breaks.
A soft page break is a page break that a has been included by a page oriented
processor at a position where the document itself does not include a page break
(e.g. by using the fo:break-before and fo:break-after formatting properties
described in section 15.5.2).
Soft page breaks are specified by the text:soft-page-break elements described
in sections 4.7 and 5.1.1:Soft Page breaks.
The use of the text:soft-page-break elements is always optional. An
application generating the format may include the element if it has computed a
paginated layout. A consuming application may handle the element while
computing the layout, but it shall not depend on its existence. Soft page
breaks are only supported within text documents.
A generating application that stores soft page breaks shall indicate this by
setting the text:use-page-breaks attribute to true. A generating application
that does not store soft page breaks shall indicate that by omitting this
attribute, or by setting it to false.
An application that does not support pagination and soft page-breaks, that
modifies an OpenDocument file, which includes soft page-breaks, shall at least
set the text:use-page-breaks attribute to false (or remove it). It should also
remove the text:soft-page-break elements from the document but is not required
to do so.
An application that computes a paginated layout of a document should provide a
facility to turn on export of soft page breaks for the purposes of consistent
page breaks and for proper conversion to digital talking book formats (such as
[DAISY]).
For text:soft-page-break elements that appear within table rows, the maximum
number of text:soft-page-break elements that appear within the single table
cells determines the number of page breaks that appear within the table row.
The text:soft-page-break elements contained in each cell determine the
positions where these page breaks appear within the cell content.
Similarly, text:soft-page-break elements that appear within text boxes and
other content displayed outside the text flow, do not start a new page, but
only indicate where the text-box's content breaks between two pages.

We have LibreOffice updated from version 3.5.6 to 3.6.4. PDF documents that
were produced with the new version show a misrepresentation of umlauts in this
font Liberation Sans Bold. See the attached screenshot of the program

I reopen this bug because the last correct daily dates from November 28
(master~2012-11-28_00.26.43_). Build of master~2012-11-30_15.22.24_ is not
valid (only 34MB size). From then ... there is no daily-build anymore. Windows
still have daily builds, so this is a bug.

We can't test the new changes anymore! Please fix as soon as possible. We can't
locate the time range where a bug was entered (if a bug appears).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44463] FILEASSOC Uninstalling Libreoffice removes Microsoft Office file associations

2012-12-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44463

--- Comment #3 from Marco Ciampa ciam...@libero.it ---
Perhaps I have an answer to the apparently strange and random behaviour I've
observed. If I have installed Microsoft Office but, for some reason, I haven't
used it _yet_ or not used yet with the user (I do not know which of the two
actions is acting here) that I use for both Microsoft and Libre Office install,
then the LibO installer/uninstaller do not see any MSO associations which are
present as system but currently not as the current user, -or- not present yet
and configured just by the first run of the current user (again I do not know
which action it follows here), and take precendence.

May be an explanation? If yes it could be without any real solution ... but we
can find out just a best way to do it inserted in the i.e. FAQ or INSTALL or
the manual or somewherelse that could be very useful for system administrators
like me or for an help for massive installs help for i.e. P.A.s ...
Something like:
1) Install MSO
2) _RUN_ it as administrator
3) _then_ install/unistall/upgrade LibO

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57944] New: Impossible to select a frame with the mouse when located inside the top margin.

2012-12-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57944

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 57944
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Impossible to select a frame with the mouse when
located inside the top margin.
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: ppye...@gmx.com
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.4.3 rc
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Version :
LibreOffice Version 3.6.4.3 (Build ID: 2ef5aff) french version + Windows XP SP3

Problem description:
Impossible to select a frame (cadre in french, I'm not sure of the name in
the english version) with the mouse when this frame is located inside the top
margin.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new blank writer document
2. Menu : Format Page...
3. Fix Hight margin to 12,00 cm (for instance) and confirm by OK
4. Menu : Insertion Frame (cadre in french version)
5. Create a frame anchored to the page with vertical position at 2 cm (for
instance) from the top of the whole page
6. Click anywhere else in the document so that the frame is not selected
anymore
7. It's impossible to select again the frame by the mouse

Current behavior:
Impossible to select a frame with the mouse when this frame is located inside
the top margin.
If you want to select it to add text or anything else, you have to use the
navigator to change the vertical position in order to place the frame outside
of the top margin.
Next you have to modify again the vertical position to place the frame in its
initial position.

Expected behavior:
Should be possible to select a frame with the mouse when this frame is located
inside the top margin, and was possible in 3.5 versions.

(In reply to comment #0)
I installed LibreOffice: Windows, version 3.6.4, Greek, the main installer.
I chose the default installation which informed me that all dictionaries
would be installed. However, only the greek dictionary is installed and is
shown in the extensions list.. The same applies to the previous version of
the 3.6 series, but not to the ones of the 3.5 series where the dictionaries
of all main languages were automatically installed.

Where exactly does it inform you that all dictionaries would be installed?

What changed with the fix for bug 53009 in LO 3.6.3 is that now by default only
a subset of the dictionaries that are available in the installation set is
actually installed, where that subset is based on your locale. According to
setup_native/source/packinfo/spellchecker_selection.txt that would mean that
for a Greek locale (el) indeed only the Greek dictionary would be installed
by default (unless you explicitly change that in the installation dialog).

 No Progress yet?

This is a volunteer project - it is everyone (including you) that has not made
any progress on this yet :-) What would really help here - since few of us have
Macs - would be to have a stacktrace on a build compiled with symbols: with
that we can most likely fix the bug in minutes. Absent it - life is much harder
and since I can't test the fix easily it will just consume tons of developer
time pointlessly. The crash dump data is nice but really rather unhelpful /
non-specific.

Thanks !
