[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62396] New: Use native GTK+ drop-down menus

2013-03-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62396

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 62396
CC: emir_s...@msn.com
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Blocks: 42082
Summary: Use native GTK+ drop-down menus
  Severity: enhancement
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: fitosch...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: UI
Depends on: 62385
   Product: LibreOffice

+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #62385 +++

Hello,

Currently Libreoffice uses its own drop down menus, which are small in
diameter, and sometimes it is really hard to find stuff in it (especially in
crowded menus like Calc currency select).

Instead LO could use native GTK+ drop down menus, which looks aesthetically
more pleasing, and easy to use because of the expansion capabilities.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62398] New: FILESAVE: Cursor saved six characters to the left when document is reopened

2013-03-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62398

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 62398
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILESAVE: Cursor saved six characters to the left when
document is reopened
  Severity: minor
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: grof...@hotmail.com
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.1.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Using LibreOffice v4.0.1.2 on Windows XP. I would like to preserve the cursor
position when document is saved and reopened. I have noticed that cursor is
preserved in correct line, but it is placed exactly 6 characters to the left
instead of the real save position.

Steps to reproduce
1. Open Writer new document.
2. Tools | Options | LibreOffice | User Data. Make sure First/Last name fields
are filed in.
Note: If this data fields are empty then LibreOffice does not remember cursor
position on save. This is correct behavior, because LibreOffice remembers
cursor position by user - so if multiple user are editing the same document
each gets opened at the position he/she saved the file. If fields (user
ownership data) are empty then LibreOffice does not know if each of the save
was performed by the same user. To reduce confusion it just opens at the first
character in first line.
3. Now type in (or copy bellow) some text like:
987654321AA123456789
987654321BB123456789
987654321CC123456789
4. Place the cursor between BB characters (line 2) and save the document using
ODF format.
5. Close document.
6. Reopen document.
Problem appears: What you can notice is that cursor is opened in line 2 between
number 6 and 5. So cursor was remembered exactly 6 characters to the left.

Expected is to reopen at the position that was saved so between BB characters.

What works: It correctly reopens at the line it was saved, but it incorrectly
reopens at exact cursor position inside line.

Additional tests:
You can test the same saving inside AA or CC, save, reopen document and you
will see the cursor is remembered 6 characters to the left in every row you
save. The only exception is if cursor is placed before 6 character in the line.
For example put cursor inside 8 and 7 in third line and save/reopen the
document. If cursor is placed before 6 character in the line it is opened at
position 1 in saved line. So correct line, but incorrect character position in
line.

But it seems rather improbable that this simply is a BUS bug. On the other
hand, if I understand

@illumilore: How did you recognize that you were logged in (Comment 15)? My
experience (Seamonkey Browser) is that the BSA login is independent to the
direct Bugzilla login. I logged out in Bugzilla before I started submission of
Bug 62397 - VIEWING: Too long name Background in menu 'Tools - Macros -
Organize Macros - LibO Basic - Organize - New', but submission via BSA worked
perfectly.

So it seems we are back to the suspect concerning some Cookies Hodge Podge?

This might be some more general LibO Website problem.
Please compare behavior in
a) direct Bug View in Bugzilla

 and

b) view in LibO site frame(unfortunately I have no idea how to contribute a
link) with inner vertical scroll slider 5mm below top position and outer slider
so that Attachment link at top of visible area in browser

a) will show attachment.png with optimum visibility, vertical scroll slider top
position
b) inner scroll slider disappeared because no longer required, but leaves the
outer scroll slider where it was, so that the screenshot appears 1/2m above the
monitor ;-)

When opening a Word document emailed to me (both produced and raed on Mac OSX)

Attached is an example Word document (produced on Mac OSX) demonstrating a bug
that produces an extra page number on the opposite side of the page as the
correct page number. I have attached the .docx file (lo_bug_page_num.docx) and
pdfs showing the correct output (lo_bug_page_num_word.pdf) and LibreOffice

But, I do not think that this is a minor issue, because this behavior is really
inefficient and very annoying. Therefore, I changed the importance of this bug
report.
This behavior is for instance especially very annoying if you want to insert
several images one after another, because all these images will be inserted one
above the other and you will then have to mark all images manually as ANCHOR -
AS CHARACTER.
- Images should be inserted as standard as ANCHOR / AS CHARACTER as in other
word processors like Word and Works.

Reproduced by the following steps:
1. Open WRITER
2. Go to INSERT - FIELDS - DATE
3. Select the inserted date (dialog box EDIT FIELDS: DOCUMENT opens)
4. Change the FORMAT

Result:
You have here in the German release of LO two field types 31. Dezember 1999
(in English 31 December 1999), but with no differences. Because of this I
kept this bug report as a bug.
There should be an option as described in the bug report to distinguish between
01 December and 1 December and between 31.08.1999 and 31.8.1999. This
would actually be an enhancement request.

Note: With DATE the current date will be inserted - today for instance
16.03.2013. To test it you will therefore maybe have to change your computer
date.

on the small example file but also on the private file, which is thousands of
pages long and had around 50-ish incorrect headers, all of which are now
corrected.

Many thanks for sorting this out, Michael. Will this fix go into the 4.0

Is it ok for the reporter (me) to mark this 'resolved'?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62405] New: Extensionname: Does not save using Webdav protocol (after a webdav save or webdav open)

2013-03-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62405

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 62405
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Extensionname: Does not save using Webdav protocol
(after a webdav save or webdav open)
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: potte...@yahoo.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.1.2 release
 Component: Extensions
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

If you open a file on a webdav server (https://) using windows explorer, LO
opens the file without asking your webdav credentials however LO sets a webdav
lock.

You try then to save the file more than once, LO seems to try to save the file
normally using the network share ie Y:\\...

This lead to a general i/o error, because the webdav server refuses to write
on a locked file

Steps to reproduce:
1. Mount a webdav network share using the windows explorer
2. Browse and double click on a test file (test.odt)
3. Modify the file and click save

Current behavior:

You will get Error saving the document XXX: Access to
\\subdomain.domain.com@SSL\x\webdav\test.odt was denied. then General
input/output error

Expected behavior:

if a document is opened on a webdav share, LO should save it using the webdav
protocol and therefore asking you the credential before saving.

when trying to do 'save as', it should also try to use webdav

Hint: perhaps that LO is misled by Windows that transform the
https://subdomain.domain.com in \\subdomain.domain.com@SSL

Final remark: this seems to be a longstanding issue and very annoying. In some
case could avoid corporation to migrate from Office to LibreOffice when using a
dav server

Status: UNCONFIRMED

   Product: LibreOffice

I created a document with LibreOffice 3.6.4 using Garamond Premier Pro as the
default font. When opening the document using LibreOffice 4.0.1, the font name
is still shown in the font selection combo box, but if I choose Format -
Character … , the font is listed as uninstalled. As far as I can see, the font
is now called Garamond Premr Pro, i.e. the font name is somehow shortened.
LibreOffice 3.6.5 lists both fonts, but with different weights (the Premier
variant has a semibold variant while the Premr variant only offers a simulated
bold weight). To use semibold with LibreOffice 4.0.1, I have to explicitly
choose Garamond Premr Pro Smbd.

Since this is my default font, I'll stick with LibreOffice 3.6.5 until this
gets fixed.

Thanks,

Burkhard.

I can confirm this bug on with LO 4.0.2.1 pre-release but I can't confirm it
with LO 3.6.5.2, so this appears to be a regression introduced with 4.x.

I have attached two additional test cases, one rendered in yEd and one with
LaTex/Inkscape. Scrolling speed seems to depend on the scaling: The larger the
SVG, the worse the performance.

I can confirm this bug on 4.0.2.1 pre-release / Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS but not on
LO 3.6.5.2.

General SVG display performance seems to have drastically decreased with 4.x.

no problem up to LO 3.5.5. It started with LO 3.6 and lasts until LO 4.0.1.2

supposed to be any divison by zero by just selecting cells d1:d5 and dragging
this column to the right. By the way, MS Excel does not show this behavior.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62279] : Autosum (Sigma) Function ignoring existing sum cells

2013-03-16 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62279

--- Comment #8 from Colin that.man.co...@gmail.com ---
Hi there again, Jacques,
Sorry if this is becoming verbose, I have now had the opportunity to perform a
more systematic test. It is questionable as to whether it is a genuine bug or a
simple but fairly significant inconsistency in the manner in which cells can be
identified for the SUM and Sigma functions. There appear to be three methods.
Firstly, delete the contents of cells B11, B18 and B21 from the sample
spreadsheet.
1. Cursor in B11 Sigma -- result = selection marquee for SUM of B2:B10
(the selection marquee may be re-positioned and re-sized according to
requirements) CR to accept the formula and parameters -- result = SUM of
B2:B10 automatically placed in B11 which is the first available empty cell.
alternatively (clear B11)
2. Cursor in cell B1 left mouse and hold, selecting range B2:B10(orB2:B11)
Sigma -- result = SUM of B2:B10 automatically placed in B11 which is the first
available empty cell.
alternatively (clear B11)
3. Cursor in cell B11 type =SUM( manually select cells B2:B10 CR to
accept the formula and parameters -- result = SUM of B2:B10 automatically
placed in B11 which is the defined target location
All reasonably logical
Now try
4. Cursor in B18 Sigma -- result = selection marquee for SUM of B13:B17
(the selection marquee may be re-positioned and re-sized according to
requirements) CR to accept the formula and parameters -- result = SUM of
B13:B17 automatically placed in B18 which is the first available empty cell.
alternatively (clear B18)
5. As 4 above but re-position and re-size the selection marquee to include
cells B11:B17 -- result = cumulative total of B11:B17 in cell B18.
alternatively (clear B18)
6. Cursor in cell B11 left mouse and hold, selecting range B11:B17(orB11:B18)
Sigma -- result = SUM of B13:B17 automatically placed in B18 which is the
first available empty cell but NOT The Required (SUM(B11:B17)) Calculation. The
formula can be edited to provide the desired result.
Now try
7. Cursor in B21 Sigma -- result = selection marquee for SUM of B18:B18
(the selection marquee may be re-positioned and re-sized according to
requirements) CR to accept the formula and parameters -- result = SUM of
B18:B18 automatically placed in B21 which is the target cell.
alternatively (clear B21 but leave existing formula in B11)
8.Cursor in cell B11 left mouse and hold, selecting range B11:B21 Sigma --
result = SUM of B19:B20 automatically placed in B21 which is the first
available empty cell but, ironically, the SUM is 0 all real data in the range
B13:B17 and the preexisting sub totals in B11 B18 have been completely
ignored. Definitely NOT The Required Calculation. The formula can be edited to
provide the desired result.
It could be argued that it is illogical to include the real numbers and their
sub total in a later total but that should flag an error condition rather than
just ignoring all data elements and providing the false result of 0.

For the record
clear B21
Cursor in B21 type =sum( select the range B10:B18 CR -- result =
mathematically correct but a totally illogical use of the data.

We cannot program user data abuse out of the product but we should not leave
illogical operation of valid requests in it either

As demonstrated, the results of a manual selection of a range for Sigma are not
only handled incorrect but also inconsistently, depending on just how many
Sigma'd cells are included in the selection.
I have not attempted to test for a greater number of data blocks with sub
totals but could undertake that fairly easily if it becomes a requirement.
It could be that further input from the original analyst may be necessary to
ascertain just what they think the procedures should be, or, we can cheat a
little and see what happens in Excel :).
Best regards,
Colin

Do you have a sample file which you could attach to test it and could you
please give more information about all the single steps to reproduce it?

Steps:
Open LibreOffice Writer (I still have 3.6.2.2) with a default blank document.
Write Test on the first line, add two new lines and write Test on the last
line, leaving the second line empty.
Go to the second line and insert a formula (insert-object-formula).
Type This is a test newline newline newline, then remove all occurences of
newline again.

The space taken up by that particular line of text with the formula will be the
space the formula took up with its maximum size.
The size of the object will not be re-evaluated unless you 1) re-open the
document or 2) add another character to the line with the object (in this case
line 2).

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I don't reproduce this.
On slide 2 and 3, I've got a small icon indicating it contains an OLE object.

On Win7 with 4.0.1.2 (French localization), I have same behaviour as Debian.

Pedro: could you rename your LO directory profile and give it a new try?

a Writer window and 'top' command's output

I've created a diagram in LibreOffice Draw, and then I've copied it into
Writer.
Now when I'm viewing this diagram in Writer (when I am ONLY VIEWING!), it loads
CPU rather high (50-75%).
When I am viewing a simple text, this problem cannot be registered.

On the screenshot at the bottom you can see a Writer window and 'top' command's
output.

I think, it is not all right?

--- Comment #8 from Cor Nouws c...@nouenoff.nl ---
some time ago it's fixed that styles are included when one copies a full
page/slide:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=24578b804007d8c3201e5ed32b8485e1725c33c1

I guess that what is done with
// Copy styles. This unconditionally copies all styles, even those
  ...
// remove copied styles not used on any inserted page and create
  ...
for the pages could be done for the objects too.

However in any case we have a simple workaround now:
copy a full page and the styles are copied to the target document.
So IMO it's OK to set the severity to 'normal'

The odb file you attached does not contain a form, let alone on showing the
