[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62422] Incorrect word wrapping of .docx files

Another word wrap example

Another example of different word-wrapping between Word and LO. This example
shows that hyphens in the text can lead to different word-wrapping.

lo_word_wordwrap_bug2.docx  is original Word document;
lo_word_wordwrap_bug2_word.pdf shows the output of Word;
lo_word_wordwrap_bug2_lo.pdf shows the output of LO.

Word and LO versions as in the previous example.

@ape:
are we talking about ruleRs? If not please attach a screenshot.

If yes, what's the problem with it? you can place an element at x=-4, why
should there be no ruler?

In writer you can't see anything outside the paper sheet area, so it's
plausible to limit the rulers

I can't see a difference to LibO 3.3.3. So why version Master

What is the real problem behind that?

I think this deserves to be marked as high importance.

Björn, the easiest way to understand this is just to have a look at what's
available in most word processors, e.g. WordPad.

I wonder if it's just me. On my Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, the recent docs
list for LibO only list extension (OXT) files. It never lists ODT, ODP, ODS,
etc. Wonder if someone else can confirm this.

Note: I'm *not* referring to the Recent Documents list within LibO. See

Hello

Steps to reproduce:

1. File New Spreadsheet (but same with an existing one)
2. Display the Drawing toolbar (if it is not already)
3. Select the Rectangle tool and draw (but same with another tool)
4. Right-click the object and then Assign Macro, dialog
opens.

Expected Result: The list Macros at the bottom left should
display the tree My Macros, Macros Libo, Untitled 1

Actual result: the list is empty

List existing Macros is empty even when the spreadsheet contains macros.

Note:
- Same to assign a macro to a picture
- ImageMap suffers from the same problem (which would have been a workaround
for pictures)

Verified (qa-fr) with:

There are 5 words here, but LibreOffice counts 6

Word count gives the wrong result if there are any dashes (-) in the text. It
counts them as words if they're independent - i.e., not if they're joining
two words.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62801] New: XLSX import does not read track changes document property

2013-03-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62801

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 62801
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: XLSX import does not read track changes document
property
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: robert.roth@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.1.2 release
 Component: filters and storage
   Product: LibreOffice

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new spreadsheet using Calc
2. Insert something in the first cell
3. Turn Track changes on
(in windows using File-Properties: Record changes)
   (in ubuntu using Edit-Changes-Record)
4. Insert something in the second cell (notice the text having a red border,
showing that it has been added lately)
5. Save as XLSX
(when manually checking the archive XLSX, it does contain the tracked
changes attributes, revisions directory in /xl/, so tracked changes setting is
saved in the document )
6. Close calc
7. Open the saved XLSX
Expected behaviour: revision history appears (the second cell appears with
another color, as it has revision history associated), the document editing
starts with track changes on, as the document was saved with track changes
turned on
What happens instead:
The track changes option is turned off, when saving, the whole revision history
is lost, and not saved in the resulting XLSX, thus causing data loss.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 42796] Macro assigned to dataform Before Unload or While Unloading events are not called when form container is closed

2013-03-27 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42796

--- Comment #3 from Alex Kempshall mcmurchy1917-bugzi...@yahoo.co.uk ---
Hi All

I've fallen foul of this bug in recent days so have decided to have a look at
it to see if I can provide a patch.

It's been around since November 2011 so possibly no one's looked at it
recently.

In the bug report it was confirmed that a macro assigned to either the Before
Unloading or When Unloading events of a dataform are not called when the form
document is closed.

However, when editing a form and the Design Mode option is toggled the events
are called. Also the events when the form is loaded are called under all
circumstances.

So hopefully here should be enough clues there to provide a solution.

As I haven't provided a patch for a couple of year might take me some time to
get back into the swing of things.

If anyone has any suggestions as to where to look fist it would be gratefully
appreciated.

Posted this to the bug report and the mailing list

Alex

there is quite some fun in the UI as/when it switches sheet.

I found out that the Family names of these two fonts differ. One is
Cleanvertising and the other one Cleanvertising (with whitespace at the
end).
That's an error in the font, and I reported it. But maybe we can also fix this
in LibreOffice by stripping the Whitespace at the beginning and the end of a
font family name?

I might be able to do it, if you point me to the code.

Hi all,

The issue has been resolved with building a new user profile. Looks like this
issue is due to updates of LibreOffice version.

However, updating version of LibreOffice should be able to handle the user
profile without this kind of issues.

Table is not displayed with the attached script generated rtf.

It is well displayed on MsWord.

The problem is that it is there is no \pard after the \row control word.
Instead the table is include in a group.

I already create a patch to solve this problem and will push it on gerrit soon.

Just lost all my unsaved data because an incomprehensible message during
Uninstall of a LibreOffice Help package only had two options: Yes or No.

Turns out the message asked if I wanted to reboot immediately. Unfortunately I
thought that it was confirming if I really wanted to uninstall the package...

This is NOT cosmetic!

Can someone please rise the Importance?

I have the similar problem, tested in LOdev on Windows 7 64bit. I noticed that
Export as PDF works fine, it's only Print which doesn't.

Since this one has been already confirmed, I suggest that Bug 62197 be marked
as duplicate, if that's the same problem, although it's older - or otherwise.

5. save as dd1-1.docx
6. close dd1-1.docx

9. close dd1-2.docx
10. open dd1.odt - shows as expected
11. open dd1-1.docx - shows error where image should be visible
12. open dd1-2.docx - shows as expected

It seems that saving a new document as docx results in a corrupted docx where
saving an existing odt as docx does not.

It scales LibreOffice content too. For example it renders horrible font on
Impress presentation in fullscreen especially with contribution of Bug – 46817
to that.(I run LibreOffice 4.0.1.2 on Windows7 x64 SP1.)

Actually DPI aware should be enabled by default, because developers do not
usually program/test with DPI scaling in mind and it can( does in some
applications ) thus even cause GUI layout to break.

   Version: 4.0.1.2 release
 Component: Installation
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install 4.0.1
2. Immediately install the French resources
3. Launch translated 4.0.1

Current behaviour:
OS pops up a window advising that the app is broken, with choice of cancelling
the launch or moving the app to the trash

Expected behaviour:
Ability to launch translated LibO on first try

Workaround:
1. Install 4.0.1
2. Launch UNtranslated 4.0.1
3. Quit LibO
4. Install the French resources
5. Launch translated 4.0.1

Interpretation:
The French translation modifies the file substantially so that the signature
provided by The Document Foundation does not fit the file's content. Of course,
once the file has been launched the first time Gatekeeper doesn't apply, so
LibO can be launched even id modified.

Solution:
The Language installers should also install an updated signature ?
-or-
The Language installers should first launch LibO, quit it, then try to install
the language content
-or-
Do like on Windows and pre-install all languages without requiring an
independent download.

I think I might have made a mistake and attributed an improvement in the
situation to LO instead of to a faster computer. It is true that now
Libreoffice does not render the system unusable after waking up from suspend
but the problem somehow persists.

With a modern computer what you would notice now is a CLEAR slowing in LO (e.g.
when scrolling down the page LO is slower than normal and somehow
unresponsive).

You still have to completely close LO and reopen it again for it to work
properly.

With a clean installation of 4.0.1 and removing the registry entries, the
problem is solved for my friend too.

I'm very happy this bug is solved with the 4.0 release.

Also my friend said me to transmit his salutes and gratitudes to the Calc
hackers. He said that he was so happy of its performance and deinstalled MS
Excel.

The bug is solved.

Thanks to whom had worked on it, especially Kohei Yoshida for the personal
disturbances i've given to him :)

Best regards,
Zeki

Problem description:
For all fields in the report of LO-Base it is possible to define specific
fonts. This usually works fine, but not for text fields (there it seems like it
is Times New Roman).
I've tested this with Ubuntu 12.10 and Mac OS X - with several user-defined
fonts.
For number-fields everything is working fine (see in the screenshot). If I
remember correctly, this bug was not existing in version 4.0.0

Steps to reproduce:
1. Edit a report
2. Define a new font (you can also vary the size) for text-fields
3. See the result in a real report.

Current behavior:
Font is not like defined

Font should be like defined

This is not a critical bug if it exists.

Also what are you using to do your batch conversion? Marking as NEEDINFO as we
need more explicit steps on how to reproduce the bug. Please be as explicit as
possible when describing steps for a bug, especially slightly more complicated
bugs that include batch changes.

Once you provide steps please mark as UNCONFIRMED and we shall try to triage
the issue.

 I think it's actually in sd/source/ui/animations/SlideTransitionPane.src
sd/source/ui/animations/SlideTransitionPane.cxx and the system only support
 whole seconds now...

My bad - you're right, this was referring to slide transitions. If we're
talking about the time the transition takes, there is
SdPage::setTransitionDuration() (from sd/source/core/sdpage2.cxx) already.

For the autotime, this is a slightly more advanced hack then, as it needs
changes in

offapi/com/sun/star/presentation/DrawPage.idl (additional, optional property),

sd/source/ui/unoidl/unopage.cxx (handling of new property),

xmloff/source/draw/animationexport/import.cxx (odf impex),

and the dialog as noted above.

When navigating the dropdown menus in (at least) Writer and Calc, check marks

For example, after choosing Edit Track Changes Record, no check mark

When choosing View Toolbars, no check marks appear next to the toolbar names,
regardless of whether any toolbars are visible or not.

This creates major usability problems.

--- Comment #3 from Rainer Bielefeld libreoff...@bielefeldundbuss.de ---
I can't see any difference to known behavior in 4.1.0.

And that the ruleR exceeds the paper sheet causes no problem at all, but might
be a feature for some users.

So NOTABUG

@ape
Please consider that it's not useful that you simply describe what you see. We
also need information why you rate it as a bug.

Please do not change the status from NEEDINFO, it's requesters decision whether
reporter's new information is sufficient
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugTriage#Step_5._Set_Status

Please feel free to reopen this bug if you can contribute a well founded
reasoning why the behavior you observe might be a bug.

Problem description: When I view a document in print layout, the space on the
screen beside the document (about half the screen) is bright white although my
colour scheme has a black background (I succeeded in telling the text
background to be black but not the window background; this causes problems as I

Sorry, it possible that it is my confusion:
Digitization allows you to determine the size of the page, if the image does
not fit on this sheet.
Also Microsoft Visio works like Draw.

DOC file which freeze LibO

Problem description:

1. open attached file LongTable.doc

Current behavior:
LibO freeze

Expected behavior:
File should be opened with a long table embedded in a cell. The table is longer
than 1 page.

If the content of the table is reduced so that table is fitting in less than
one page, then LibO is able to open it. See ShortTable.doc which is the same
file modified with Word 2003 to remove some lines.
However, I was not able to reproduce with a new document from Word 2003.

I reproduce with LibO 4.0.1.2, 3.6.6.1, 3.3.4, AOO 3.4.0, OOo 3.2.0 portable.
I do NOT reproduce with OOo 2.4.1 portable

Status: UNCONFIRMED

Problem description: When I search for ß (German name scharfes s, unicode

ß and ss. When I search for ss, it does the same.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Use German localisation of LibreOffice
2. Use document (text or spreadsheet) containing ß and ss
3. search for ß or ss

Current behavior: can't distinguish ß and ss in search

Expected behavior: when searching for ß find only ß, when searching for ss find
only ss (they are different letters! When checking all ß in an old document to
see if they have to be changed according to the German spelling reform, this
bug at least triples the work).

Josep, could you also attach the document that produces the crash?

Does the crash happen with every document you use writer with or only one
specific.

I'm on 10.8.3 and use LO 4.0.1.2 without any hiccups so far.
