Since working with Calc (almost 2 year now) the described bug is really slowing
down work because one first needs to copy the content of a target cell (for
the comment) somewhere, copy and paste special the comment, and then cut and
paste the original cell content.

If the paste-special only comments works with out deleting the content of the
target cells it saves a lot or work: 4 clicks plus 4 ctrl+key strokes.

If this is a designed feature - I call it a bug - please inform where in the
Help file this information (I could not find any information) can be found and
I will place immediately an enhancement request.

I changed the status to REOPENED

Thanks for cooperation.

--- Comment #7 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
Just an update on this issue. After the upgrade to Askbot v0.4.78 on 4th July
2013 all file types were excluded from being uploaded and existing attachments
no longer appeared linked. On 20th July 2013 I asked this question:

http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/20617/question-answer-attachments-for-asklo-not-showing/

...and a day later it was fixed (thanks Evgeny). The list of permissible file
types however appears to have been reduced, such that at present this is the
message displayed when attempting to upload an ODT:

allowed file types are '.jpg', '.jpeg', '.gif', '.bmp', '.png', '.tiff'

David, does this issue of typing in a search term and pressing ENTER still
cause problems under Askbot v0.7.48? For me, using Iceweasel v20.0 I now get
the appropriately reduced list of search results. If it is still an issue, we
may need to change the bug title. If it is no longer an issue, we can close

--- Comment #10 from Derek Keats de...@dkeats.com ---
This is a killer bug. What can be done to speed up getting it assigned and
getting a patch out there to fix it? It is forcing people to switch to
alternative packages to LibreOffice. Some of us upgraded because of awful bugs
in previous versions, so going back to older versions is not even really an
option. I am asking this out of innocence as a long time supporter of Free
Software. I cannot imagine having a bug that stops the application dead in its
tracks and then not fixing it. I would sell my soul to the devil for a
reasonable fix that is released so ordinary folk can use it.

What I could not (yet?) reproduce is a repair dialog appearing.
As it's reproducible only under Ubuntu 12.04, I guess it's caused by old
versions of GNOME\Samba libs. This explains the fact you can't reproduce
 that on a recent distro.

That makes it sound suspiciously like yet another fallout of GLib bug

Problem:

In all of LibreOffice, Spanish localization, as well as in all Windows 8,
Ctrl-E is set to select all text in the screen, or all files in a window. One
place where this expectation is not fulfilled is the Formula Editor, which uses
Unix-like keybindings and Ctrl-A is set to select all instead. A bit more
consistency would be desirable.

Expectation:
Ctrl-E should select all in all LibreOffice components.

What happens:
Some components use Ctrl-A, some others Ctrl-E

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68312

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 68312
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILEOPEN: Inserting picture from file opens users
Libraries\Picture folder every time
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: jan...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.3.3 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
When I for the second time wanted to insert a picture from a file in my
document, then LibreOffice opened the same folder as the first time again. It
did not open the same folder as the previous inserted picture where found. This
is not convenient and results in a lot of clicks finding the folder and
picture. I organise my document so I have all images and pictures in a
subfolder to the document.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a document in a folder. The folder is created some where else than
c:\Users\username\Documents.
2. Copy two images or pictures in a new subfolder named images to the folder
created in 1.
3. Insert the first picture from file and see that the opened folder in my case
Biblioteker\Dokumenter (En: Libraries\Documents).
4. Click and find the subfolder named images.
5. Insert the first picture.
4. Insert the second picture from file and see that the opened folder is
Biblioteker\Dokumenter and you have to find the subfolder named images
again.

Current behavior:
LibreOffice don't remember the folder of the last inserted picture.

Expected behavior:
LibreOffice remembers the folder of the last inserted picture, so a lot of
clicks and time is spared.

One line example with missing word between brackets

Problem description:

The attached .ODT file contains one line, including a table.

In v3.6.7.2 everything shows up OK.
In v4.1.0.4 the word between the brackets is missing.
in v4.0.4.2 part of the word is missing.

But if I turn on the display of non-printing characters, then I see a jumbled
mess between the brackets.

Or if I press space bar numerous times after the second bracket, the text will
appear.

The text displays correctly if I copy/paste the text from the table, as below.
But I have seen the same problem when typing text outside of a table.

The problem is identical on-screen or in the .PDF output.

This is an intermittent problem. Ninety-nine percent of the time things show up
correctly, but some words don't show up at all, and I'm not sure why yet. This
occurs with either IPA or Vietnamese characters.

I have the same crashing on exporting an opd with a lot of pictures (TIF files)
embedded.
By a lot I mean: with 270 pictures it was still OK, but now I got up to 360,
and now the process crashes consistently with
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::bad_alloc'
  what():  std::bad_alloc

I take the standard settings of the export, but include the notes, which are
not many.
I can provide you the odp I you want it . Currently 951Mb.

I have an .odb file which uses ODBC to connect to a postgresql database located
on another computer. Inside the .odb file there are several forms defined.
Since LO 4.0 whenever I change data in any of these forms and press the save
record button, I get:

Error updating the current record
the target rows is out of the rowset
SQL-Status: HY107
Error code: 20

And the next time I press the save record button, LO crashes.

This bug makes LO 4.0 completely unusable for me since I can do no work on my
database. I am stuck with using LO 3.6.x which works fine.

Imo very easy and highly important fix. Not sure why this is not in LO yet.

cmd + k is the standard on OS X for adding a link anywhere form Apples own
Mail.app to M§ Word. It's everywhere. Seems the situation is the same for
windows. So let's add this important shortcut and be done.

Would be great if this could get addressed.

Well, its XMLTextExportPropertySetMapper::ContextFontFilter that kills the
export of the font info. The mentioned bibisect commits put all fonts into the
FontAutoStylePool and ContextFontFilter gets called multiple times and ends up
filtering out all info about the font via that GetFontAutoStylePool()-Find

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68319] New: Chinese Conversion Crashes LibO

2013-08-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68319

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 68319
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: Chinese Conversion Crashes LibO
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: kumara.bhik...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.4 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Something went wrong with the modified Chinese Conversion tool.

Paste this on a new doc: 出離, 出要, 遠離
Use the tool to convert from Traditional to Simplified.
CRASH!
Upon recovery, one character is converted: the first 離 to 离
The other 離 remains as it was.

Upon further testing, I found out that if I were to highlight just the Chinese
character before running the tool, it works find.

With more testing, here's what I notice:
If the range of conversion includes any non-Chinese character, in this case,
comma or space, upon reaching that character, CRASH!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68320] New: Impress count behaves oddly when printing handouts without hidden slides

2013-08-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68320

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 68320
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Impress count behaves oddly when printing handouts
without hidden slides
  Severity: trivial
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: g767...@rmqkr.net
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.4 release
 Component: Presentation
   Product: LibreOffice

I have an Impress presentation with 10 slides. Handout master contains
number/count (Page number / Page count) which is supposed to give page
numbering on the handouts: 1/2, 2/2. Works fine so far. I'm using 6 slides per
page on the handout.

When I hide slides 1-5 and print a handout (or select Range and copies -
Slides 6-10 in the Print dialog), I expect to have one page of handout, thus
numbered 1/1. Instead, I'm getting one page numbered 1/2. So the count is
calculating the hidden (or not selected) slides though they will not be
printed. Seems to work equally with 1 or 4 slides per handout.

Please either change the count to include only the slides to be printed, or
change its name to Total page count instead of Page count. At least to me,
Page count means the number of paper sheets that will come out from the
printer.

I can reproduce the loosing of grouping in other calc documents as well:
-select sheet before sheet with grouping
 -select row n
 -paste somewhere
-undo : the grouping in th enext sheet is lost
I have not tried other combinations, the steps in comment 58 and above
should be a sufficient starting point for a developer.

Instead of rows, columns can also be used to reproduce the loosing of grouping
in the next tab sheet.
I have not been able yet to loose the comments with these steps.

Shows the font stretching.

The system where this is running is a Debian Testing AMD64 Linux Distribution
running KDE Destktop Environment 4.8.4.

What happens is that after some random time that the Writer (have also seen it
on Impress and much less commonly in Calc) shows the lines as in the picture
attached. This has happened after both a graphics driver update and a system
update.

One way of reproducing the problem (I have seen it work anywhere from all times
to being a one shot thing) is to do the following.

Open Writer and a Document
Open Kate or Kile (seemed to work more often with this).
Open an existing file with Kate or Kile
Save As (input another name) with Kate or Kile.
When the operation is done what the writer shows should be corrupted in a way
similar to the picture.

There is a variant of the bug where the letters get compressed in a single
column to the margin of the page.

The value in A1 is of type text, not date or serial date number, therefor
MONTH(A1) gives a #VALUE! result that is propagated to the remainder of the
formula. In the earlier versions of OOo and Excel you mentioned that worked
only if the document is loaded in a locale where month names match the one used
in A1 and produces an error in all other locales. Which is the reason this is
not accepted anymore.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 53032] Undo does not undo middle-click pasted test

2013-08-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53032

--- Comment #2 from Michael Meeks michael.me...@novell.com ---
If a complex chunk of text is pasted; undo is fine; I suspect viewfun4's

void ScViewFunc::PasteRTF( SCCOL nStartCol, SCROW nStartRow,

has no undo logic.

The file to test the paragraph format coping.

I tried Libreoffice 4.1.1-rc1, the Format Paint Brush can copy the Font Format,
but it can not copy the Paragraph Format.
You can download attachment PaintBrush-paragraph.odt to test this problem with
Libreoffice 4.1.1-rc1.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68327] New: SVG: draw:glue-points cannot be defined outside svg:viewbox

2013-08-20 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68327

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 68327
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: SVG: draw:glue-points cannot be defined outside
svg:viewbox
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: jumbo4...@yahoo.fr
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.3 all versions
 Component: Drawing
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 84327
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=84327action=edit
Example file with a glue point defined outside viewbox

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. create a new document with a shape
2. save it as flat XML (fodg) to ease next step, and close it
3. edit file with a XML editor
4. jump to the draw:custom-shape... shape
5. inside draw:enhanced-geometry... add draw:glue-points=5400 43200 (at
least one value higher than the values define in svg:viewBox (default 0 to
21600))
6. save file
7. open file in LibO
8. select shape
9. activate glue-point tool

Current behavior:
defined glue-point appears at the limit of the view box and not outside

Expected behavior:
defined glue-point should be set where it has been defined

OASIS specifications do not mention this limitation
http://valhalla.fciencias.unam.mx/odfdomdoc/doc-files/OpenDocument-v1.2-part1-cd04.xhtml#attribute-draw_glue-points

If file is saved, larger value for glue-point position is kept in XML code.
Operating System: All
Version: 3.3 all versions
