but what problem? Unreadable text? Please, attach document with example
comment which creates problem on Windows. And tell locale of Windows (it is
 important to reproduce problem).

I've just posted an example of poor readability.

I certainly agree that comments should not use the default system font (that
is probably not portable among different machines). But I don't really agree
that comments should use default writer font.

IMHO, comments should use a style, just like everything else, only picking
those features (font, size, etc.) that are actually applicable to comments.

What's the default writer font? Is there such a thing? I suppose he meant the
font specified for the Default Style, which is of course a style.

Anyway, I second allowing for paragraph style in comments, with Default Style
as the default.

Dear all, I am sorry for answering little bit late.
Now I use the Libre Office 4.1.3.2
Build ID: 70feb7d99726f064edab4605a8ab840c50ec57a downloaded from The Document
Foundation site.

I have tested again the same file and it works well with this (my current)
installation.4.1.3.2
It looks very strange for me as I did not change any special thing in my
computer.

Till now I just keep updating the SUSE with the official offered update
packages, and additionally only had update the past version of Libre Office
with Libre Office 4.1.3.2
May be some package from the SUSE updates or in the new version of Libre Office
do the trick to solve the problem?
Any way for me the problem is solved but I do not know how exactly it get
solved.

No.

I don't really see the point in bringing up
theoretical restrictions that no real-life compiler that our code would get
 near to has.

This is not about bringing up theoretical restrictions. If we do such a huge
cosmetic clean-up like this, and there's two ways to do it, and one is
standards conforming (...) while the other is not (...): Then if there is
no good reason to deviate from the standard, it only looks natural to me not to
do so.

Good to hear :)!

One thing I noticed _this_ time was that the install process may collide
with w7 indexing (never happened before - and I've been using oo and lo
 since 1.0...
I don't use windows that much, but I never saw that collision too :).

I had to turn indexing off in order for the install to complete - but that
was OK, I got fair notice ;-)
I'll try to be alert for more problems related to this topic. Thanks for your

Lets mark this bug as RESOLVED WORKSFORME.

The SutonnyMJ is a broken font, it maps Bengali characters to Latin character
code points instead of using correct Bengali Unicode code points. The attached
document uses correct Bengali Unicode so selecting this font has no effect and
a fallback font will be used. No idea how MS Office showed the text coorectly
in the first place, but we do not support such broken fonts, so please use a
proper Unicode font and reopen this bug if the issues persists.

LibO 4.1.2.3 on Win7 :

After a number of trials and errors on the .ODT provided file, I manage to get
a situation which could be in relation with the present bug 70645. I had
noticed that the truncated text occured on the sole and unique paragraph with
direct formating in Dejavu Sans in the underlying Text Body native
paragraph style. After I tried to modify this paragraph style in the stylist,
Writer fell into an endless cycling error with undiscontinued disk activity.
After a few seconds I stopped abruptly the process (being afraid of what
happened to my PC), and I experimented then difficulties to recover the file,
in a new attempt to use Writer.

I'm just suggesting an area of search : modifying a standard template file,
which could have repercussions on other stored documents based on this
standard.

I'm unable to reproduce the sequence and to give more info for the time being.

This discussion covers several issues, please file a separate bug for each one.

How come this document is fine under LibreOffice 3? And how come it works
 fine in OpenOffice?

No idea, I have no access to either of them, but I’d guess it just happens that
a different font fallback is used, as I can’t see any way this font can be used
for Unicode Bengali text; it just does not support it.

--- Comment #11 from Daniel Wunderlich c...@wu-web.de ---
Okay, now I am totally confused ...

I used a clean Kubuntu 13.10 installtion inside a VirtualBox vm and created a
new spreadsheet only using natural numbers and
WENN(A1=KGRÖSSTE(A1:A30;1);1;0). No crash occurs. The same with 1,5; 2,5; ...
;30,5.

When I copied my original data row

26,5
25
34
23,5
28,5
28,5
...
31,5
34,5
17

LO also crashed. So it doesn't have to do with my personal Kubuntu setup, but
maybe has to do with KGRÖSSTE and the concrete numbers.

And one additional information: The bug also occurs when I only use KGRÖSSTE
without WENN.

Confirmed in L.O. 4.1.3.2 under WinXP.

Convering the file to xls with MS XML converter allows the content to be seen
OK in L.O.

Spreadsheet with #VALUE Errors

I changed the standard option for formula behavior to true how it is
described in the Bug ID 44720!

LO 4.1.3.2 with Kubuntu 12.04 and 4.1.1.2 on Windows generate the Error
regardless.

I can resolve the Error in two ways:

1. Editing the formula: clear the two characters an input them again

2. Simple add a new table and all formulas has no errors

It works fine and without errors in LO 4.0.5 and 4.0.6.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71135] Crash at formula 'KGRÖSSTE'

2013-11-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71135

--- Comment #12 from Michael Meeks michael.me...@collabora.com ---
LO also crashed. So it doesn't have to do with my personal Kubuntu setup, but
maybe has to do with KGRÖSSTE and the concrete numbers.

Wonderful - can you get another stack trace in gdb with the export
SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen - the best way to do that is run and then:

ps auwx | grep soffice.bin
gdb
attach pid-of-soffice.bin
continue

Hopefully we can get a trace that is related to the underlying issue then ! :-)

Thanks for chasing this - it sounds really annoying !

Writer 4.0.6.2 (Build ID: 2e2573268451a50806fcd60ae2d9fe01dd0ce24) inserts
unwanted page-breaks, if the Update All (Alles Aktualisieren) command is

Hilfsdateien.

This document has grown and changed over the years and has been edited with
several versions of OpenOffice/LibreOffice. I have removed as much content as
possible without removing the bug.

I believe what you experience is that the cached result values are displayed
that change when the formulas are recalculated, as when adding a sheet or on
other operations. You can also force a recalculation with Shift+Ctrl+F9, or
change the option under Tools-Options-Calc-Formula Recalculation on file
load.

I didn't check your uncommented 52 sheets file if I could spot some error
somewhere, so if the above assumption is not what you meant feel free to reopen
this bug and explain the details.

Problem description:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70645] : Sudden erasure of partially completed letter

2013-11-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70645

--- Comment #9 from Michael Parker mspwooda...@talktalk.net ---
Many thanks Dominique for the time and trouble you are taking.
I understand most of the detail to which you refer and it does
look as though you were able to, more or less, reproduce the situation I
experienced.
If it will be of any help, I can mention that the Writer document
was started by first erasing an older piece of correspondence. The old text
appeared half way up, and in between, the logo and address panel with the email
address above that. It was not originated in this fashion but for some reason,
was stored this way.
The original letter, before erasure, was formed using Times New
Roman font name and font size 9. .The content of the original letter
was erased, i.e. the 1st. sheet of A4. However, text was typed on to a 2nd.
sheet, about a quarter of a page, but I'm unsure whether or not this was erased
at the same time as the 1st page, but my thoughts probably were, at the time,
that this did not matter, for if I required a 2nd sheet on which to continue,
then erasure could be done accordingly.
I made a decision, when I created the new text, to change the font
name and sizing, as you mentioned.
I wonder if trying to mix styles and sizing, together with erasing
an old document, was a sensible thing. With hindsight, it would be better to
start with a blank document only containing the logo and address. In the
interests of not reproducing the same problem again, it would sensible not to
try again my original method of creation. I can understand that any new
document being created could be confused by any such changes.
I hope this information is of help.
   Sincerely.Mike Parker

Comment # 8 on bug 70645 from Dominique Boutry

This is weird - why is retyping even needed. I saved ODS to XLSX and then
reopened the XLSX file and saved as XLS. In this case there was no prompt to
retype the password and the XLS was still protected. If it goes from
ODS-XLSX-XLS then it must also go from ODS-XLS without the prompt to retype
the password.

Anyway - all we need to do is to add a check for the old password in the
Re-type password Dialog.

There are 3 proposed scheme, as I read it:

1/ use systematically (well except for stdio assert and other true
system include I suspect

2/ use systematically

3/ use for 'local' include, i.e in the same directory than the cxx and
for the rest

4/ use for include private to the module you are in and for include that
are 'public' header (iow system from the point of view of other module)

I favor 4/ because a/ that does solve the original pch problem b/ that convey a
useful semantic content to the reader of the code: where is the include in
question supposed to be.
iow in 'standard speak' considering $(SRCDIR)/include as a system include path

--- Comment #6 from Eike Rathke er...@redhat.com ---
It turned out that the ScRefFinder::ToggleRel() method in
sc/source/core/tool/reffind.cxx is not prepared at all to handle references to
external documents. Currently that methods operates on the string obtained from
code tokens and can't be easily enhanced to take the various external
references' document notations into account. Best a new approach would be
implemented that operates on a copy of the compiled tokens instead. I wouldn't
call that an EasyHack anymore though.. removing from those.

I can confirm that the sub-title problem is related to xls files. Saving a file
as ods i do not have this problem. Saving the same ods as xls, the sub-title
start to appears in all graphs when we interact with then. i'm using 4.1.2 on
ubuntu 64bit 13.10.

So looks like the internal conversion from xls is messing up this.

displayed incorrectly
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: jore...@libreoffice.org
  Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.3.2 rc
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

How to reproduce:

* Download https://www.libreoffice.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=80191
* Open it using LibreOffice
* File  Save
* Re-save it with another name as .docx
* Close
* Re-open it

Behavior: at the first seconds when the file is loaded, the figure numbers are
correctly showed ('figure 1' for the first picture, 'figure 2' for the second).
But a second afterwards, 'figure 2' changes to 'figure 1'. So in general the
number is correctly imported, but is recalculated somehow which result in an
incorrect figure number.

Tested on 3 independent computers; Windows 7 x64, windows 8 x64 and Linux Mint
15 x64 (build today).
All with master Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+

Log on IRC with instructions related to this problem:

[17:02] @vmiklos jorendc: aha. so after the import on the first onfocus
event some field is updated. that happens in
writerfilter/source/dmapper/ModelEventListener.cxx. my first try would be to
see if i disable everything in notifyEvent(), see if that helps.
[17:02] @vmiklos jorendc: if so, then the cached result of the field is OK,
but not the field instruction, that's why you get bad results after the field
update.
[17:03] @vmiklos if you look into the docx file manually, that may help to
decide if the field instruction is already wrong (export problem), or that's
ok, then you have an import problem.

Demonstration of Problem

Bug confirmed on 4.1.2.2 release as well as 4.2 master built yesterday

Reproducible Steps:
From a fresh document I can't figure out what's triggering it but attached
document shows problem:

1. Open document
2. Scroll to page 3
3. Look at where I put BLANK (two places) - as you can see the numbering is not
a continuance but it's just the same number(letter) as the previous one.

Note: From what I can tell I can't get it to change (for instance can't get the
second b. to change to c. no matter what I try). Therefore I put in a place
marker as BLANK just so numbering continues

Marking as:
Normal - can prevent high quality work
High - numbering is very common

PossibleRegression (maybe, I'll have to test it to find out)

Ubuntu bug. (The Debian packaging has that bug because of a installation change
in 4.1.2 and Ubuntu apparently merged it - and it got fixed later on when
merging the fix from Debian again.)

In any case, this is not Ubuntu here - NOTOURBUG

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57189] TABLE Ability to insert/delete cells

2013-11-06 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57189

--- Comment #10 from Lukas Jelinek de...@aiken.cz ---
I would like to clarify what Urmas probably means.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Select some cells in Calc.
2. Copy the selected cells.
3. Create a table in Writer and place the cursor into it.
4. Paste the clipboard content (Edit - Paste or Ctrl+V).
-- or alternatively --
5. Open special paste dialog (Edit - Paste special or Ctrl+Shift+V) and then
select any paste method.

Expected result:
The table is inserted as cell-to-cell. Roughly speaking, each source cell's
content is inserted into the appropriate destination cell. If the source cell
set has more columns and/or rows then the destination one a dialog should be
displayed. The user then choose how to handle this situation (truncate or
extend).
-- or alternatively --
The default behavior remains the same as now. But the special paste method list
contains another item (e.g. Cells) which provides the way described above.

Current result:
The whole table is inserted into the current cell (where the cursor is
located). There is no way (even in Paste special) how to accomplish the
expected behavior.

s/has/had/, of course. No idea actually whether it's fixed, no idea about

that patch) to fix it. In Debian we had that bug only in unstable..

Using version 4.1.3.2 on Windows, I cannot replicate.

Try updating LO and reporting whether the problem persists in the new version.

If you still can replicate using a newer version, perhaps attaching an example
would help.

Sample file with the bug

When a picture is inserted in a paragraph using before text indent,
word-wrapping is incorrect. Before text indent is set on the right side of the
picture, instead of being set to zero.
Old versions of OpenOffice/LibreOffice didn't have this behaviour and the
text used to stick to the picture.
