(In reply to comment #14)
 Yes, I think so too.

 for 1.
Different font substitutes is a bug. I suggest to track it in this bug
 report.

Updated summary to reflect this particular issue.

(In reply to comment #9)
different font substitutes are used in LO4.1 and LO4.3 in Writer. But
whereas LO4.1 uses the same font for Writer and for pdf export, LO4.3 uses
different fonts for Writer and pdf export. So it seems, something changed in
 font substitution.

Keywords: Per this note, marking as 'regression'.
Version: Keeping 4.2 beta2 (we can do some quick testing to narrow the time in
which this regression was introduced after 4.1
Status: NEW
Whiteboard: Removing 'norepro' as the bug has changed.

DeepJungle/Regina - Could one of you provide quick repro steps for the font
substitution regression?

 for 2.
Not using the contained paths is a missing feature. AOO too has not
 implemented it, see https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=122324
I suggest to write a new bug report for it.

+1

I don't see any filed bugs about lack of support for SVG font embedding, so
please do file one.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72825] New: FORMATTING: make master slides hierarchy with inheritance

2013-12-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72825

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 72825
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FORMATTING: make master slides hierarchy with
inheritance
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: jfe...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Presentation
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

When creating templates, you usually start with a basic branding which is after
declined over variations (backgrounds for instance), but should retain the main
attributes, such as styles, etc.

It would really be interesting, as with styles, to have a hierarchy of slide
masters, with the same workflow as styles (create new master from this master),
identical, which you can change the needed attributes only.

Currently, without the ability to even copy slide masters, the workflow is to
write down every single step of customisation for a master, and restart all
over again for another one with only different attributes (such as style list,
frame placement or just background).

With inheritance, it would enable to modify the top-most slide master, and have
attributes such as fonts, colors (to adapt to a different background image for
instance) et al. modified on all children, the same way it works with styles.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Go to View = Master = slide master
2. Try to create a new slide master from an existing one
3. Modify the new slide master for the only attributes needed.

Current behavior:
not possible. You cannot even copy an existing slide master. (BZ#45617 at
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45617)

Expected behavior:
There should be a context sensitive entry in the Slide pane on each slide
master, that enables the Copy slide master or better Create new slide master
from this one which would retain inheritance.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72830] New: Connectors do not snap to grid and do not react on Shift key

2013-12-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72830

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 72830
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Connectors do not snap to grid and do not react on
Shift key
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: nrb...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Drawing
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 90919
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=90919action=edit
ODG file with demonstration of the problem with Straight Connectors

As far I can understand - Arrows from Lines and Arrows sub-panel of Drawing
toolbar can:
1. be straight (horizontal or vertical = rotated by
45/90/135/180/225/270/315/360) if I press Shift key;
2. snap to grid.

I use LibreOffice Draw for diagram creating. So I use elements from Drawing
sub-panels Connectors, Glue Points and Basic Shapes.
It was a surprise for me, that Straight Connectors do not snap to grid and do
not react on Shift key. It is very difficult do connect Connector line to
some object without these two options if one of line ends is not connected.
The example is in attachment.

It demonstrates, that:
1. «Straight Connector ends with Arrow» line does not snap to grid and does not
react to Shift key, so it is difficult to keep it horizontal or vertical.
2. «Line Ends with Arrow» line snaps to grid and react to Shift key, but it
does not connect to another object (does not have glue-point, it is not a
connector).

Please, if it possible, allow Connector line to act as other lines (add snap to
grid and a reaction on Shift key). Without this changes it will be very
difficult to use LO Draw as diagram editor for real life tasks.

I see this behaviour on LO Version: 4.1.3.2 Build ID: 410m0(Build:2) and LO
3.5.7.2 Build ID: 350m1(Build:2). May be other versions are affected too.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72832] New: Other: CMIS check out process overwrites document's title property

2013-12-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72832

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 72832
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Other: CMIS check out process overwrites document's
title property
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: ibla...@binovo.es
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.3.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
When I open a document using the CMIS extension against Alfresco 4.2c, If I use
the check-out option so that a working copy is generated and the original
version locked, the working copy has the title changed.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Configure LibreOffice to access an Alfresco repository using CMIS
2. Open a document from the repository
3. LibreOffice warns you that you are editing the current version instead of
checking out the file and it gives you the option to check-out (by the way,
fantastic option).
4. Check out, in the repository the a working copy is generated and LibreOffice
loads this file instead of the original one.
5. If you go to documents properties and check the title metadata you will see
that it has been set to the full path of the file in the repository instead of
just leaving it as it originally was in the document.

Expected behavior:
The documents title metadata shouldn't be changed.

Operating System: All
Version: 4.1.3.2 release

Add more fonts

(PT Serif, Source Code Pro and Souce Sans Pro under OFL; Open Sans
under ALv2)

Its the OFL so we can't really delete the symbols locally and keep the name
IIUC. So its either drop the font and anyone that has used it already looses
out, or keep the font and suffer the problem that there are now incorrect
symbols used for the newly assigned currency unicode positions. Both options
suck.

@Lionel, Robert : does this ring a bell ? I can't seem to find a DUP in BZ

Hi Alex,

the bug you mean was about horizontal and vertical lines, which could be set
and aren't displayed in the executed report.
This bug is about horizontal lines in the editing-window on the left side.
The lines appear since the beginning of LO 4.2.0.0 - just tested with the alpha
from 2013-11-04_10:44:56. I haven't reported this, because I saw more important
bugs and thought it would have something to do with the graphics-card ...
Change the version to alpha0+.
Version here:

1) I took a look to the Paratype's website in Free stuff section and I read
this:
You may not place them on Web and FTP sites for free download, post them in
newsgroups or distribute them by other means!
Is it really ok to include fonts from them in LO package or ?

2) is there any chance Paratype releases a new version quickly which include
the new symbols?

Caolán: I agree both solutions are quite bad but IMHO I think the dlasher's one
(to remove the font until it's ok) is less bad.
Of course, this should be indicated in release notes with the detailed reason
of this.

Just out of curiosity I checked the box. That did indeed CAUSE the SAME TYPE

could have been onto something, but my bug is apparently different.

I then downloaded the currently offered version of LO (4.1.3.2) and re-tested
the files I'd had trouble with. Same issues (the above, plus the loss of color
assigned in paragraph styles in OOo files saved in RTF format - the other bug
you reported for me), so I guess I'll keep waiting before committing to LO.

CONFIRMED on 4.2.0.0.beta2 + Ubuntu 12.04.3

(In reply to comment #0)
 Steps to reproduce:
 1. Launch the attached accessible-event listener in a terminal.
 2. Launch LibreOffice Start Center and press tab until you move into the
 recent documents area.
 3. Now use the arrow to move between documents.

You will see in the listener log that the selection-changed event is
launched and it has the manages-descendants property set. That property
means, according to ATK documentation [1], that the object should handle the
state notifications of its descendants and it should trigger
active-descendant-changed events. As you can check in the listener log,
 these events aren't being emitted.

Yep -- I don't see any active-descendant-changed events in the log.

  They are not centered at
  the data points at all.
I agree with you. I wrote in comment #6
Actually the error bars with standard deviation
*have to* be centered on *mean* value.
It is the way they are in OOo since the beginning and the way they in Excel.
You may check on this page 4th and 5th diagram in Excel
 http://peltiertech.com/Excel/ChartsHowTo/ErrorBars.html

Other types of error bars produce the effect you need. You may consider that
error bars with standard deviation should be centered on the value, but it
is not the way they are handle in office suites from the beginning. Changing
now this behavior will introduce more compatibility problems.

An easy workaround is to add a column with standard deviation values and use
 error bar on selected range.

If I do not understand your request please give more details or some
 references.

OK, I understand. I will follow your advice and add a column with standard
deviation and put error bars there. Marking this resolved.

Thank you for the help!

Problem description:
The attached document originally included charts when I saved it to
www.dropbox.com, for example on page 38, I was expecting some chart objects to
be rendered within LibreOffice Writer.

I originally saved the document using Microsoft Office 2007.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Save a document like the attached using Microsoft office word 2007, and,
upload it to a shared folder e.g. on www.dropbox.com.
2. Open the document using LibreOffice Writer 4.0.1.

Current behavior:
No charts are being displayed.

You have to choose a layout with title and text for the new slide,
Title,Content for example. When inserting a new slide, the layout of the
previous slide is used as default, which is Blank Slide in this case.

Having a title or not, is not a property of the master slide, but set by the
Layout.

Just tried 4.2.0RC1 64bit on OSX with Slovenian lang-pack.

The problem persists.

Now the start center looks localized (as the English strings got
updated/changed in the last week or two and were also localized by me, this
obviously took care of them).

But the Settings menu still has all general entries in the left tree view (the
LibreOffice subitems: User Data, General, Memory, View, Print, Paths, Colors,
Fonts, Security, Personalization, Appearance, Accesibility, Advanced, Basic IDE
Option, Online Update) in English, the same goes for the titles of settings
subpage in the title bar in English.

A serious bug, for me a stopper for international OS X versions.

Hi, for me this is not a bug but by design that the icons are grayed, you can
increase of decrease the font of several paragraphs by applying character
styles. Being able to apply manual formatting would mean that the paragraph
style may be overwritten by the manual formatting.
Closing, this is not a bug nor an enhancement - Sophie

regression in LO 4.1.4.2, worked in 4.1.3.2/

the file is not WW8 but DOCX, regression from:

commit d41fc60d4443e3ff22ac3ef0e56cb9131cd49cc9

AuthorDate: Tue Oct 1 16:57:56 2013 +0200

bnc#779620 DOCX import: try harder to convert floating tables to text
frames

Since 78d1f1c2835b9fae0f91ed771fc1d594c7817502, we convert floating
tables to text frames only in case it's possible that there will be
wrapping, to give better results for multi-page tables, which are
multi-page, and technically floating ones, but that has no effect on the
layout.

The problem was that we try to do this decision too early, effectively
the page width and margins were counted from the default letter size,
instead of the actual values, which did not arrive at the time of the
decision. Fix this by moving this logic at the section end.

Ah, I think I mis-understood it. It was not what I thought it was. Sorry
about that.

Either way, I won't have time to do bug fixes at least until toward the end of
the month. Given that fixing bugs in pivot table is generally very
time-consuming in general esp when it involves grouped date fields, it'll be
probably until next year before I can sit down and look at the remaining
issues.

I really need more help fixing pivot bugs...

TESTING on LO 4.2.0.0.beta2 on Ubuntu 12.04.3

(In reply to comment #0)

Repro steps:
1) Open LO Writer
2) Tools - Macros - Organize Macros - LibreOffice Basic
3) Click on 'Untitled 1', then the 'New' button
4) In the code window that appears, dump the BASIC code (Comment 0) into the
file above the opening of the Main sub.
5) Inside the Main sub, call the function;

Sub Main
  Example_Code_For_Integer()
End Sub

6) Run the code (F5)

Result:
See dialog box: Cint(H0): 0 with OK button

7) click the OK button

Result:
See dialog box: Cint(H7FFF): 32767 with OK button

8) click the OK button

Result:
See dialog box: Inadmissible value or data type.\nOverflow.

(At this point program execution ended, so we didn't see the last msgBox)

Program execution is halted and the error message displayed is:
“Inadmissible value or data type. Overflow”.

Yep.

It's not clear to me if this behavior is as-expected, or is a bug.

If the same BASIC code is run on Visual Basic V6.0 or the Visual Basic V6.5
included with MS Office 2003, then it executes without errors.

Interoperability is a strong reason to try to accept this input, even if it
does take some development and testing.
