This is idea for improvement (sugesstion) which could make LibreOffice even better than Microsoft Office. Idea is the following: all toolbars will have the same (fixed) position while above toolbar you can select which toolbar to use. In this case, menus are still kept while ribbons from Microsoft Office is not imitated. I find this even better solution than Ribbons (image is attached). I believe this is not difficult to implement. Users could also select the way toolbars behave. Steps to reproduce: Since this is not a bug, but sugesstion (I came to this site by cliclinkg Help - Send Feedback), there are no steps to reproduce. Current behavior: Default way of appearing toolbars can disturb you. For example: you draw a line in Impress and Line and Formatting toolbar pop up or appear on toolbar line (in this case your content/ slide is moved or zoom out). Also, they take too much space since you use more that one toolbar at the time. Expected behavior: Existing toolbars will be used, but the way they behave will change. Toolbars will have fixed position. Specific toolbars will appear if you click on table or drawing a object, while users can easly click which toolbar to use. But solutions is good and different than ribbons. Existing toolbars will be used. Those toolbars can have fixed position already. The new code that should be done is that only one toolbar is visible at the moment and it always appear below menu. Also, a frame with toolbar names should be added which will control what is visibled. I am aware that this is pretty simplistic explanation. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80715] Writer Search and Replace, System Crash
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80715 --- Comment #2 from nsi...@sas.upenn.edu --- Here is the file that keeps crashing. What I do is search for $ and replace all with a space. Before doing that, I replaced the double paragraph marks (about 500 of them) with #, so that I can restore them later. I get an error message that says I have to turn off Undo. I succeeded in doing the replacement on the first 50 pages by moving the remaining 600 pages to another file. With 100 pages, I still get the crash. To get the file I am sending you, I moved the 600 pages back in (they are now the top of p. 49 on). It still crashes the system, except when I reply in the error message dialog by telling it not to turn off Undo. In that case, it tells me it has done the replacement, but actually it hasn't changed anything. If I don't do that, I get a complete system crash. Sometimes I can terminate it by forcing termination of Writer; otherwise I have to turn the machine off and then on again manually, and restore the file. I can't believe that Writer was designed so that one can't do a Replace All on 100 pages of text. In CALC I created a sheet, where i write down my training on bycicle. In this sheet I created a diagram, which shows me how much km I drove in average in the past time. In this Diagramm I draw a red line, which shows me, where I should be, to reach my goal to drive 5 km a day. This red line dissappeares after I saved, closed and re-opened the File. The same happened in another file, where I coloured some areas in a diagramm by drawind a red, a yellow and a green transparent square. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80583] EDITING: Analysis of Variance (ANOVA): DEVSQ returns Err:508, while direct DEVSQ formula returns correct result
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80583 --- Comment #7 from Kevin Suo suokunl...@gmail.com --- (In reply to comment #6) If I copy A1:B100 in a new sheet and generate ANOVA in D1, I don't reproduce the issue. When you were generating ANOVA in D1, are you sure you are using A1:B100 as data source? (not only a single cell?) I can 100% reproduce even I copy A1:B100 anywhere. Those numbers in A1:A100 were generated by using the Edit - Fill - Random Numbers. In fact, even the following simple numbers in A1:B2 will get the same ERR 509: 1,2 3,4 If now I select E11 and function wizard fx, I see the issue: Number 1 and Number 2 are together in the same input line, separated by a comma, wheras a semicolon is expected. There is no problem with Number1 and Number2 separated by comma. In calc, formula both accepts , and ;. For example, =SUM(1,2) and =SUM(1;2) all get the expected results. Input error? The formula in E11 was not input manually, it was generated by Data - Statistics - Analysis of Variance. So even there was input error, its not the user's fault. However, the reality is that, there is no input error. (If you copy and paste the exact same formula within E11 to another cell, it get the expected result, rather than ERR 508.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 77951] FORMATTING: Enhancement Request - Specify number of significant figures, not just decimal places.
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77951 --- Comment #6 from DF devonfy...@gmail.com --- For the last numeric example, 0.000890 is already 3 significant figures, and yes 0.00 is meaningless. From left to right, you start counting your figures from the first non-zero. Leading zeros don't count. Significant figures are an integral part in taking measurements hence why it is drilled into undergraduate science students (and likely engineers) and is ubiquitous in research. This is not an enhancement which I thought up overnight, I've been finding the lack of this feature a nuisance for years and found it to be void of all spreadsheet software I've tried sofar (and I've looked). I think it would make a great addition for productivity. I've consulted others (who use Excel) and agreed this would be a useful feature. A quick search shows me this is a commonplace, and there is no solution other than workarounds such as using scientific notation, or using a formula. http://spreadsheetpage.com/index.php/tip/rounding_to_n_significant_digits/ http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=231129 https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9t=25658 http://www.faculty.umassd.edu/michele.mandrioli/172cbook/fCHM1.B.3.html I've looked extensively through feature requests too, and found none.
