[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72578] rtf created with Writer containing tables are saved but loaded wrong

--- Comment #6 from Alexandr alexpik...@gmail.com ---
I reproduce the bug with LibreOffice 4.2.5 and 4.3.0.3 as it is described in
comment 3.

The wrong rtf generated by Writer seems OK in other software as WordPad

But the second table in the .rtf is corrupted in MS Word Viewer. The file is
really wrong. It is FILESAVE issue.

I have been meeting the bug (appearing addition column in the first line of a
table after rtf save) for many rtf files from different sources which I tried
to edit with LibreOffice. Hence, I believe, priority of this bug should be
increased.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72825] FORMATTING: make master slides hierarchy with inheritance

--- Comment #1 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
(In reply to comment #0)
It would really be interesting, as with styles, to have a hierarchy of slide
masters, with the same workflow as styles (create new master from this
master), identical, which you can change the needed attributes only.

This will likely require a change to the ODF specification. Currently ODF v1.2,
Part 1, §10.2.4 states:

The draw:page element is a container for content in a drawing or
 presentation document.
 ...
The draw:page element has the following attributes: ...
 draw:master-page-name 19.194 ...

ODF v1.2, Part 1, §16.9 states:

In drawing and presentation documents, the style:master-page element is
used to define master pages as common backgrounds for drawing pages. Each
drawing page is directly linked to one master page, which is specified by
the draw:master-page-name attribute of the drawing pages style.
 ...
In drawings and presentations, master pages can be assigned to drawing
 pages using a style:parent-style-name attribute.[1]
 ...
The style:master-page element has the following attributes:
 draw:style-name 19.219.27, style:display-name 19.472, style:name
 19.498.2, style:next-style-name 19.499.2 and style:page-layout-name 19.504.

[1] Note that the wording here may be inaccurate (style:parent-style-name
should probably read draw:master-page-name). Refer
https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/OFFICE-3679

In other words draw:page (Draw/Impress page) can have a master page (via the
draw:master-page-name attribute) but there does not appear to be any mechanism
(parent attribute) by which a style:master-page element (master page) can
have a parent of another style:master-page element. Doing so would also
likely complicate ODF documents considerably.

Status set to NEEDINFO until developers / OASIS expert can comment further on
the feasibility of this enhancement.

I got consistent behavior with this simple steps:
1. Open attached file
2. Select any cell ranges
3. Find and Replace (ctrl-H)
4. Click 'Other Options' and verify that Current selection only ticked
5. Select any cell ranges outside previous selection

Reproduced with LO 4.3.0.3, 4.0.6.2, 3.6.7.2, 3.3.0.4 - Ubuntu 12.04 x86

AOO 3.4.1 and 4.1.0 doesn't select Current selection only by default, but the
check box greyed out with above steps. So this behavior likely inherited from
OOO.

Seems like a good feature to have (required for industrial prepress) so

Why should LibreOffice start adding file management features? If you find

Microsoft Office has never had a “Delete this document” command as well. That
simply does not belong in an office suite.

Summary|Dual x-axis on plots|FORMATTING: Set scale on

   ||x-axes independently
  Component|Writer |Chart
 Ever confirmed|0 |1

--- Comment #1 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
(In reply to comment #0)
In Microsoft Office it is possible for users to create a plot with dual
x-axes where each axis has a different scale.
 ...
I know it is possible to have dual axes but they must be the same,
it would be great if a user could specify what each axis scale should be.

This seems like a reasonable request although it would appear to require
further clarification as to whether this is possible under ODF v1.2 and what
this means for interoperability (if Excel is already doing this). Would appear
to either require:

(a) Setting a category child element in each X axis definition e.g. it is
possible to have this:

chart:axis chart:dimension=x chart:name=primary-x chart:style-name=ch4/
   chartooo:date-scale/
   chart:categories table:cell-range-address=Sheet1.A2:Sheet1.A5/
/chart:axis
chart:axis chart:dimension=x chart:name=secondary-x
chart:style-name=ch5/

... but having a separate chart:categories element for each X-axis would allow
specifying independent values.

(b) Allowing data series to be attached to X-axes e.g., it is possible to have
this for Y-axes:

chart:series chart:attached-axis=primary-y chart:style-name=ch9
chart:values-cell-range-address=Sheet1.B2:Sheet1.B5
chart:label-cell-address=Sheet1.B1:Sheet1.B1 chart:class=chart:bar
   chart:data-point chart:repeated=4/
/chart:series
chart:series chart:attached-axis=secondary-y chart:style-name=ch10
chart:values-cell-range-address=Sheet1.C2:Sheet1.C5
chart:label-cell-address=Sheet1.C1:Sheet1.C1 chart:class=chart:bar
   chart:data-point chart:repeated=4/
/chart:series

... which again allows separate ranges to be specified for the primary / second
axes. I agree it would be great if the scales could be set independently. It
would seem to be compatible with ODF v1.2 but this really needs to be
determined by an expert. Confirmed. Status set to NEW. Component set to Chart.
Platform set to All/All. Summary edited for clarity.

I forgot to mention before that those test have been made with fr and oc
 languages packages.
Perhaps it could be the trigger since I'm using standard English package.
Could you try an en-US package or change the languange to English?

And 1 more thing Marc..please see Bug 80849 which is derived from Bug 46447.
Looks like content.xml modified (somewhat) the same way as this bug report.

Could you try turning off autosave as suggested here in the following link?
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46447#c85

Possibly your report is a dupe to Bug 80849

On windows corel draw is showing the text boxes for the bottoms of the notes
as starting where the top chord line is and going down to where the lower
text is, however in libreoffice it starts about half way down from there.

On screen rendering and PDF output (refer attached) is the same under:

Anything that reduces the Java-dependency of LO is worth pursuing IMO. Having
said that I am not clear what the statement on the wiki page about extensions
means in terms of LT development:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Extensions

Supported programming languages are Basic, Python, JavaScript and Java.
For the higher level of integrity and possibilities you can use C++,
Python and Java languages to develop UNO complements based extensions.

Is LT a UNO complements based extension? Status set to NEEDINFO. Please set

Is there a reason for LibreOffice Base not to allow writing into non-indexed

Other than that it has always been this way with the C++ native connector, not
that I know of. There is probably some discussion about this in a similarly,
closed, previously filed bug report, but I don't remember where.

Note also that the connector itslef is a non-bundled extension, i.e. a kind of
external project, despite having hooks in the code tree. It is not built by
default with the application code, but rather it is the distribs that build the
connector as a separate add-on and then provide it in their packaging systems,
so in order for this to change, it would require someone to write handling code
that would allow non-indexed fields to be writable via the connector. I don't
think that this is as trivial to achieve as it might first seem (although I'm
not a programmer, so can not estimate the effort required).

At best, this is a RFE, but whether there will ever be any takers to actually
do the work is another matter.

(In reply to comment #0)
word doc with embedded SoundRec objects (wav format)

Objects are inserted / stored as compound OLE objects, so this appears to be an
OLE handling issue, rather than an audio-related one. Even using MSO 2007 to
resave the DOC as DOCX does not help gain access to playing the embedded sound
files. Tested under GNU/Linux using:

- v4.3.0.2 Build ID: 14ed55896fdfcb93ff437b85c4f3e1923d2b1409
- v4.4.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 3fdd4f069d5436cf39708004af7fda8175fbc4c2

(In reply to comment #0)
 * After upgrading to LibreOffice 4.x, it stopped to work (while it still
works with the latest 3.x of Apache OpenOffice).
 * The bug now appears in the most recent Apache OpenOffice 4.0.x.

Kurt, you have not indicated which specific versions of LO you have experienced
this problem with. Can you try either v4.2.5.2 or v4.3.0.2 to see if the
problem persists? Status set to NEEDINFO. Please set status back to UNCONFIRMED

--- Comment #2 from ign_christian ign_christ...@yahoo.com ---
I can confirm this bug with following test conditions:
- AutoRecovery (auto save) activated every 1 minute
- with a PNG file
*) But I guess this also happen with any auto-save intervals and any image file

Step to reproduce:
1. Create new presentation
2. Insert Image From File
3. Select an image file and tick Insert as Link in the bottom left Open
Keep Link
4. Wait for at least 1 minute to let auto-save executed
5. Save as an ODP
6. Close reopen the ODP file

Reproduced with LO 4.3.0.3, 4.3.0.1, 4.2.6.1, 4.2.5.2 - Ubuntu 12.04 x86

Not reproduced with LO 4.3.0.0.beta1, 4.2.4.2

Upping the Importance since AFAIK this is a quite common function and dataloss

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81091] Images in help not visible

2014-07-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81091

--- Comment #10 from Regina Henschel rb.hensc...@t-online.de ---
I have got Version: 4.2.5.2 Build-ID: 6ff819b65674ae6c83f3cbab9e4a4c2b292a7a94
and work on Windows 7 32Bit. If you do not have the same version the checksum
will be different. My md5 sum is 90a558acd73fe7e7d76133a07b2cec3b.

The link is OK. It has /cmd/. Other versions would have /commandimagelist/.
I have overseen, that the same link works in a Write document for you.
Therefore I think, that help text and image file are correct.

It seems, that there is something special in your installation. If there would
be a general problem with totally missing images, we had more complains.
Therefore I suggest, that you move to a mailing-list or forum to investigate
the problem. A bug can only be fixed, if it is reproducible.

The usual starts for investigation are:
Try it with a new user profile.
Try it with another language of the UI.
Do you have any extensions installed? Try it without extensions.
Try it in a fresh administrative installation.
Try it on another machine.

Nevertheless the problem which I described in comment #c3 remains.

This appears to be a request for a feature that is already provided by the
Master Pages facility in Impress. Please have a read through chapter 2 Using
Slide Masters, Styles, and Templates of the Impress v4.0 User Guide, which is
available here:

http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/documentation/

From p.34:

A slide master is a slide that is used as the starting point for other
slides. It is similar to a page style in Writer: it controls the basic
 formatting of
all slides based on it. A slide show can have more than one slide master.
 ...
A slide master has a defined set of characteristics, including the background
color, graphic, or gradient; objects (such as logos, decorative lines, and
other graphics) in the background; headers and footers; placement and size of
text frames; and the formatting of text.
All of the characteristics of slide masters are controlled by styles. The
styles of any new slide you create are inherited from the slide master
 from which it was created.

Status set to NEEDINFO. Summary amended for clarity. Please confirm if this
feature provides what you require. If it does not, then we may need to clarify
exactly what is required. Set the status back to UNCONFIRMED once the requested
information is provided. Thanks.

 - Windows XP sp3_32-bit\sp2_64-bit: LibO 3.5.7; 3.6.7; 4.0.6;

Let’s set “Version” field to the oldest.

The bug with table of content duplication is not reproducible with LibreOffice
4.2.5 and 4.3.0 on Debian x86_64 and Windows 7. I do not know which patch
solved the issue, so, I set status to resolved worksforme. Feel free to reopen
it if you can reproduce the problem with LibreOffice 4.3.0 or later.

The header “Введениевиктор” is visible only in Word Pad. MS Word 2007 and MS
WordViewer do not show it. Please, report another bug if you think LibreOffice
should show the header.

Interline spacing is different in MS Word and LibreOffice. I believe it is the
same issue as bug 68201.

the rectangle is really a horizontal rule that should be

the horizontal rule shapes look right now, they are just
wrongly positioned, sometimes even outside the page
so not visible; but that is a separate bug and not
a regression and is not fixed yet.

For the sake of those who do not have MS Office this is what I see (per click)
during the slideshow in MSO2007:

1. Slide with Sales title and legend initially displayed.
2. Blue segment of pie slides into place from bottom.
3. Red, green, and purple segments slide into place (one after the other), also
from bottom.
4. Purple segment slides off to bottom.
5. Green segment slides off to left.
6. Red segment slides off to top.
7. Blue segment slides off to right.
8. Sales title and legend slide off to bottom.

Under GNU/Linux using v4.3.0.2 and v4.4.0.0alpha+ (2014-07-09) these are the
main differences in handling:

- No Sales title is displayed.
- Entire chart is animated (rather than each segment) along with the legend.
This tends to cause apparent repetition (step 3) or nothing (steps 5-8).
Confirmed. Status set to NEW.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open file in LO
2. Save as docx in LO
3. Open the original file and the round-tripped file in MS Word 2010

Hyperlink is lost (visual disparity).

=
Root Cause
The fldData is getting added as instrText.
So in RT file the w:instrText has both the instrText and the fldData, from
the

Format - Bullets and numbering - Numbering type

The original report (and Apache OO wiki page) only mention bullet (i.e.,
unordered) list points. This does indeed appear to have been fixed. There is
however still a problem with ordered lists. Bug 73404 has reported the issue
with there being little or no space between the identifier and the item text
for ordered list items.

Not reproducible with LibreOffice 3.5.4 from Debian Wheezy. Hence, it was old
regression. More than it, spacing in 3.5.4 is correct.

--- Comment #4 from Jean-Baptiste Faure jbf.fa...@sud-ouest.org ---
In version 4, to remove an hyperlink, do that:
1/ hyperlink as text: right click on the hyperlink - choose Remove Hyperlink
2/ hyperlink as button : select the button then press the delete key
2 bis/ hyperlink as button: if in fact you wanted an hyperlink as text instead
of button, select the button, open the hyperlink dialog, change the form from
button to text, validate.

Where is the problem? I propose to close this bug report as NotABug or WontFix.

Argh, the button of an hyperlink seems to be selectable without entering the
design mode, only if the document has not been saved since the creation of the
button. So my previous comment is applicable only if you have a remorse just
after having added this button.

A context menu remove hyperlink for the button would be a good thing. Or at
least a context menu remove the button.

Thanks. I agree, this is a worthwhile request. This feature does not exist in
MS Office either AFAIK, so there may be interoperability issues. It may relate
to the caption (generally set above a table) being modified if repeated,
although I suppose an alternate implementation may simplify this (in relation
to indexes only needing to pull in one entry). An example is given in this
Indian TeX group presentation on longtable:

http://www.tug.org.in/tutorial/chap07-scr.pdf

Chicago Manual of Style (CMS) 16th Ed. §3.85 specifies this use of indicating
when a table is continued and gives a basic example in Figure 3.25. Cambridge
(Butcher's Copyediting) mentions this feature (briefly). Oxford Guide to Style
(2002) states: Insert a 'continued' line, such as 'Table 2 cont.', only if the
table turns over to a verso page, not if it extends over facing pages.
Obviously there are (as also originally pointed out) several variations, but
even a basic facility would be useful.

Status set to NEW.

--- Comment #12 from David genericinet+libreoffice@gmail.com ---
It looks like there have been some things that have changed in 4.3.0.2. It
doesn't look like exporting to a pdf wants to recalculate the page formatting
now if it's already been done. But in checking through the document there are
many times when the footnote numbering is not correct. As an example, after the
page formatting is done, on page 196, on my system, the first footnote is
labeled #3 and the second one is labeled #1. This document was originally
created as an .odt document. It was not converted from another file type.

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: rug_ro...@yahoo.it
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.5.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

I upgraded to SuSe Linux 13.1 recently (Libreoffice 4.1.6.2).
I discover that crtl-clicking over a hyperlink, when the hyperlink path
contains a space, or a non ASCII character like , gives the message no such
file or directory.
The hyperlink can be created.
I upgraded to Libreoffice 4.2.5.2. The problem persist.
I try to delete my user profile (rm .rf ~/.config/libreoffice -- no change

However the problem does not appears on windows (Liberoffice 4.2.4.2).

NOTE: previous version of Libreoffce (unknown), used to open hyperlinks using
firefox, that resolved what to do with the file. Both versions 4.1.6.2 and
4.2.5.2 now open my pdf files directly, calling evince directly.
The bug could be something as trivial as %s instead of '%s' in some
configuration file, but where?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81461] FILEOPEN: FB2 files encoded in windows-1251 don't open on Windows

2014-07-18 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81461

(In reply to comment #1)
AFAIK the problem is in libxml2, which only handles a few major encodings
internally and uses libiconv for all the others. But we do not bundle
libiconv, only libxml2, and libiconv is not generally available on Windows.
 There are three possible solutions:

 1. We bundle libiconv with libreoffice (on Windows only; could even be
 pre-built, I think)
 2. I work-around this in libe-book by converting the input to UTF-8 before
passing it to libxml2. This would mean also changing the input, as the
encoding is recorded in XML declaration, so I would really like to avoid
having to do this. (But it is possible that libxml2 allows to override the
encoding recorded in the XML input. Then this would probably be the easiest
 solution.)
 3. (Speculation) There might be a way to plug a different encoding
converter into libxml2; then I might use ICU which libe-book already depends
 on anyway.

Again sorry for my english
Thank you. I replaced the library catalog on the library libreoffice taken here
with this address: http://www.zlatkovic.com/libxml.en.html
All earned.

I do not feel this feature comes under the role of an office suite i.e.,
document editing / creation. Version Control Systems (VCS) and Content
Management Systems (CMS) are designed to be used in conjunction with front-end
editing / creating software and fulfill the role of managing document libraries
more effectively.

Actually libxml2 can already use ICU instead of libiconv. So all that is needed
is to build the bundled libxml2 with ICU support on Windows. This will solve
this bug and several others too (bug 63756).
