You can see that the height of circles are bigger than their width. Please compare it also with the size in the odg-file. There are nearly perfect circles with Width/Height = 0,7cm/0,69cm. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 68432] MS WORD conversion error with numbering
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=68432 Orwel orwe...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added Status|RESOLVED|UNCONFIRMED Resolution|WORKSFORME |--- --- Comment #6 from Orwel orwe...@gmail.com --- Thank you for checking my post. I have repeated the test. I can confirm in Win7/LO 4.3.0.2/MS Off2010 the problem is less significant than in the past. But I do not think it is fully solved. In the origin document the numbering (as the whole text) is Times New Roman. After saving the .odt file to .doc/ opening it in MSO2010 and adding and deleting something in the text (I have track changes on), re-saving it in MS Office and opening in LO again, the numbering format changes to Liberation Sarif (if you click on the numbering you can see it) although the text itself remain in TNR. So the good new is, the font does not change to Symbol anymore, but I think the numbering font should not be changed neither. Let's continue...If you change manually the Liberation Sarif numbering font in .doc document in LO again to TNR, save it, open it in MS Office and save it again, now the font remains TNR also when opened in LO (BUT only the level you have manually changed in previous step, the next sub level - if not changed to TNR - still changes to Liberation Sarif). IMPORTANT! THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN TO DOCX file, the numbering font remains TNR if you reproduce the same steps as with the .doc. I am not sure if this is enough to re-open the bug, but will do it so you can take a look at it one more time. If you think it should be even though closed be free to do so. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81475] Meta: enhancing Writer's standard and formatting toolbars
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81475 --- Comment #2 from Jay Philips philip...@hotmail.com --- Created attachment 103175 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=103175action=edit Step 2 - Grouping Similar Items Together Step 2 - Grouping similar items together Buttons with similar features or with mutually exclusive behaviour can be grouped together to increase the available space for the addition of more buttons, as well as to keep the accessibility of these features in the toolbar. The grouped buttons will look similar to the New and Open toolbar entries, i.e. that the group icon will have an arrow to the right of it, which can be clicked to see the underlying grouped entries. * Step 2a - Grouping in the Standard Toolbar 'Word Functions' group button - A group button should be created with 'Spelling and Grammar' (.uno:SpellingAndGrammarDialog - 3rd most popular dialog window) as its main button, as it takes up ~7% of toolbar total usage and 'AutoSpellcheck' (.uno:SpellOnline), which takes up 3%, should be grouped underneath it. Additional related entries can be added to the drop down including Word Count (.uno:WordCountDialog - 8th most popular dialog window), Thesaurus (.uno:ThesaurusDialog), and AutoCorrect (.uno:OnlineAutoFormat). I think the 'AutoSpellcheck' toggle entry should be available in the tools menu, under a menu item group titled 'Spelling', which will also contain the 'Spelling and Grammar' entry. Here is an example of the hierarchy: Tools Spelling Spelling and Grammar (F7) AutoSpellcheck I hope that in the future, additional entries can be added to the drop down, like a translation option using online translation services from google and bing. An enhancement request was submitted [bug 80722] for a shortcut key to jump to the next spelling error, and maybe a 'Next Spell Error' and 'Previous Spell Error' could also be included in the drop down list. * Step 2b - Grouping in the Formatting Toolbar 'Paragraph Alignment' group button - A group button should be created with all the alignment buttons (.uno:LeftPara, .uno:CenterPara, .uno:RightPara, .uno:JustifyPara), as all of them are mutually exclusive. I would recommend 'Centered' as the main button, as it has the highest toolbar total usage (27%) among the four buttons, while others have recommended that 'Align Left' be used as default for non-RTL languages, and it has the second highest toolbar total usage (16%). Another suggestion has been that left, right and justify be the group button as it has a 53% of usage of the four buttons, and center should remain its own button with its 47% usage. If space is available, i would recommend this option over the single group button. 'Bullets and Numbering' group button - A group button should be created with 'Bullets On/Off' (.uno:DefaultBullet) as the main button (15% toolbar total usage) and 'Numbering On/Off' (.uno:DefaultNumbering) grouped underneath it (6% toolbar total usage), as the two are mutually exclusive buttons. Another reason for Numbering to be underneath, is that more than half of users toggle Numbering with its shortcut key, while 99% of users toggle Bullets from the toolbar. The opening of the drop down would reveal a selection of bullet and numbering styles, similar to how it is displayed in the sidebar, but smaller in size, similar to the borders drop down found in calc. The mockup continues on from the mockup of step 1 and shows how the grouped items would appear in the toolbar and how their drop down feature could possibly look. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 81592] New: Regression 4.2.5 over 4.1.x: Quality/Rendering of EPS graphics is much worse (unusable) in LibreOffice 4.2.5
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81592 Priority: medium Bug ID: 81592 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: Regression 4.2.5 over 4.1.x: Quality/Rendering of EPS graphics is much worse (unusable) in LibreOffice 4.2.5 Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: gerry.trep...@googlemail.com Hardware: Other Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.2.5.2 release Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 103176 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=103176action=edit Screenshot-EPS-rendering-quality-regression_Left-is-LO425-Right-is-LO414.png It seems that LibreOffice 4.2.5 has a severe issue with handling of EPS files. The rendering quality of (some) EPS graphics in LibreOffice 4.2.x has dramatically deteriorated over the 4.1.x line, making it unusable for publications. The problem exists in on-screen rendering in LO, in printing and PDF export. While the quality on 4.1.x was perfect, the quality of EPS in LO 4.2.5 looks on screen like a bad scan of a newspaper. Please have a look at attached screenshot showing on the left side the quality of the same EPS graphic in LibreOffice 4.2.5 and on the right side in LO 4.1.4. Quality has deteriorated a lot! Please also find attached a sample .eps file. If you insert it in a Writer document on 4.1.x and then on 4.2.x you will notice the difference. BTW, the same quality difference exists if the document with image was saved in 4.1.x and then reopened in 4.2.x. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=81571 --- Comment #10 from tommy27 ba...@quipo.it --- (In reply to comment #9) ... It's just that it seems to me that the community's valuable time and energy should be spent on creating real solutions, not work-arounds. so you are complaining again... please avoid this type of comment that do not help fixing things but just piss of the people who's trying to help. you opened a bug report yesterday and after just 1 hour you already got a solution that fixed the special symbols (© ™ ®) issues. after 14 hours you received another hint that fixed the number dash issue for single digits only, and a developers has already been alerted to ask for a better solution for double and triple digits, which I agree with you is not yet resolved. so it seems to me that the time and energy of the community (which is mainly composed by volunteers) are showing good results in a very limited amount of time. I'm also confident that Lazlo will find a solution to improve the wildcard autocorrection and use it in the scenario you describe. we need to understand why the .*--.* doesn't do what we are expecting from it. please be patient and show appreciation for what has been done till now. :-) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I cross-checked a long document with multiple EPS files and I found two regressions over LO 4.1.x that are still related to this bug. 1st problem: If an EPS graphic exceeds 100% (relative to text width), it is lost in PDF export. This is an regression over LO 4.1.x where this was no problem. Attached is a sample .odt and .pdf file showing on the first page a EPS graphic with 101% width which is entirely lost in the PDF export. The EPS grpahic on the second page (100% width) has no problem. 2nd problem: Severe regression of rendering quality of EPS graphics in 4.2.5 over 4.1.x. I have been living with this problem for at least a year, but it only this week that I decided to try to get a proper solution. I spent a considerable amount of time reading the Help documentation etc. before posting a bug report. Clearly I am not the first person to have raised the issue; see here, for example: http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/11581/automatically-place-en-not-em-dashes-between-numbers/ If the response to my bug report had been: We're aware of the problem, and working on it, that would have been fine. I would have been patient and maybe sent a reminder 3 or 6 months later. But to be offered an imperfect work-around and to have the status changed to RESOLVED did not seem to me to be a good way to proceed.
