[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88848] New: In Calc charts, graph legend position is not saved if you drag it manually
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88848 Bug ID: 88848 Summary: In Calc charts, graph legend position is not saved if you drag it manually Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.4.0.2 rc Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Chart Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: silva...@katamail.com Open a Calc document; type in some numbers, select them and click on the create chart button. The default graph type is ok, just close the wizard and obtain the default graph. Now reopen the graph with double-click, and drag the legend (by default it should be placed on the right side of the graph) anywhere you like. Save the document and reopen it. Now, the legend in the graph has lost its desired position, and it is always placed at the upper left extreme corner of the graph. This was not happening in previous LO releases (I am not able to specify since when the regression took place). Notice that this is the behaviour when saving in standard .ODS format; if you save in .XLS format, the legend is no more visible when you reopen the file; if you save in .XLSX format, the legend is back at the default right-side position after reopening the file. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 80054] Enhancement request: Add option to allow user to select color of non-printing characters
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=80054 --- Comment #16 from Dan dan_hele...@email.cz --- Whereas I fully understand the concern of cluttering the prefs too much, I, for one, fully support the notion to make this setting user-definable. (A potential general solution LO would benefit from immensely in this respect in my opinion is Basic/ Advanced preferences toggle. This could accommodate for the needs of both standard and power users.) Some people want to non-printing characters to remain black, for me 100% opacity and solarised blue is too visible. (Currently and at least in the OS X version of LO, the space dots are way too large and slightly overlap surrounding text in certain cases, significantly limiting readability.) Also, 2 suggestions (seeking peer opinion before considering them as enhancement request posts): a) non-breaking spaces: currently rendered as grey-background space, a new symbol could be used for non-breaking spaces and changed to a standard non-printing character logic b) non-printing characters such as carriage returns, tabs, line breaks, non-breaking spaces, column breaks, page breaks etc. (i.e. ) should be displayed when a block of text is (being) selected even if show non-printing characters is turned off. (Similarly to the way non-printing chars are handled in Pages). It helps A LOT to see what you are really copying and prevents unintential copy-paste mess. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88851] New: Pivot Table: unstable behaviour selecting 'row' pull-down items after using 'filter'
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88851 Bug ID: 88851 Summary: Pivot Table: unstable behaviour selecting 'row' pull-down items after using 'filter' Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.3.5.2 release Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: medium Component: LibreOffice Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: nicholasdavidrobe...@googlemail.com I was just reading the interview with Kohei Yoshida and decided I must record this long-running bug. I am a 'power user' of Calc's Pivot Table functionality in the sense that I use it extensively to summarise data from large, complex databases; Kohei has done a wonderful job with its functionality! However, there is a really annoying bug that has existed over many versions and I thought I should raise it... When analysing a few thousand rows of data, if I use two FILTER criteria lines (say to restrict a date to = 1/1/14 AND = 31/12/14) and then under a ROW pull-down I deselect a few data items everything at first works like a dream. But, if I then delete the FILTER and try to select/de-select data items from the ROW pull-down I get mixed results. To explain: I select/deselect a data item and the check box behaves normally, but then I notice that my output is wrong and when I go back to the pull-down I find that the items I selected or deselected have reverted to their original state. Normal behaviour of these check buttons is now broken. Once this has happened, the only way to get proper functionality back for the ROW pull-down data selection is to re-create the Pivot Table from scratch. My work-around is to create a Pivot Table without a FILTER activated and then duplicate it to another tab. I use the FILTER function on the duplicate Pivot Table which works once and then 'breaks' the ROW pull-down functionality if I delete the FILTER and create a new FILTER. So then I delete the broken Pivot Table tab and make another 'clone' to use from the original Pivot Table without the FILTER. Not great, because I sometimes do a lot of filtering and selection/de-selection of ROW data items to analyse a given set of data; it would be great if I did not have to re-clone the Pivot Table each time. I have googled and not found anyone else experiencing similar problems, so perhaps I am just a big user of this functionality. If I remember correctly, the same problem existed in OpenOffice too. This is a great product and I do hope Kohei can fix this bug. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88853] New: SIDEBAR: No Possibility to Display more than one Panel with the Sidebar
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88853 Bug ID: 88853 Summary: SIDEBAR: No Possibility to Display more than one Panel with the Sidebar Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.4.0.3 rc Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: UI Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: harald.koes...@mail.de It should be possible to display more than one panel with the sidebar. This would improve the flexibility of the user. For example a user could use the Properties panel together with the Styles panel, the Styles with the Functions panel in Calc or the Styles with the Navigator Panel. The last mentioned combination “Styles – Navigator” is still possible with the version 4.4.0.3, if you open the Navigator with F5. But it looks a bit strange if you display 2 Navigators, one with F5 and one in the sidebar. If more than one panel is possible a display of the Navigator with F5 could be omitted. If it is possible to display more than one panel a click on the sidebar icons should only effect the visibility i.e. opening or closing the according panel. The visibility of other panels should not be effected. The current behaviour of version 4.4.0.3 is also a step backwards. For example in Writer in version 4.3.5 it is possible to display the Gallery together with the styles. This is no longer possible in version 4.4.0.3. Hence if you take it strictly it’s a regression. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 77590] Make LO's Start Center thumbnail views available for use from within components
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77590 --- Comment #10 from Andy silva...@katamail.com --- This enhancement is IMHO absolutely commendable. To say the truth, quite often I find myself in the incongruous situation where I close some files that I would actually leave open only to be able to get back again at the start screen, since this is the only way to have it back at the moment. The LO start screen is actually a simple but effective graphical interface to speed up managing and editing documents, I could actually find no reason why it should be available ONLY when you open the first document, especially in a modular, multi-format app like LO. Another proof that this would be sensible is the fact that most people I know who do not use LO keep on asking me why I do not go back to it when they look at me working with LO. A toolbar button and/or a keyboard shortcut to visualize it at any time would be the perfect way to effectively use this already existing functionality at 100% capacity. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88823 --- Comment #2 from Milan Bouchet-Valat nalimi...@club.fr --- (In reply to GerardF from comment #1) It would be more useful to create the same graph as if the whole column was selected (i.e. without unselecting manually the first cell). You will face the same problem. This have nothing to do with unselected the 1st cell. The point is, if you select the whole column, Calc is smart enough to understand that you don't want to use the empty cells that are below the data. From the user perspective, unselecting one cell currently has the effect of using those empty cells which were ignored one second later. I understand why this works that way technically, but it's not good for the user experience. Just select the needed rows instead of the whole column. Yeah, but in that case I had 10 columns with a few thousands rows, and scrolling by hand is very painful. And more fundamentally, the problem is that the operation I did, which is relatively simple, makes Calc appear to hang, which is really bad for a serious program. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88892] All formulas have webdings-like symbols instead of numbers or mathematical symbols.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88892 --- Comment #2 from allison_...@hotmail.com --- I don't know what version of LO I had, but yesterday after typing up this document myself I noticed an icon in the top right corner that offered an update. I downloaded and installed v. 4.3.5.2. The document was created new on my computer. I typed in the formulas. The auto-font that was assigned to all the text including the text in the formulas was called Liberation Serif. I have tried editing the font for formulas in the settings and I still see the same result. If I open a new document and go to InsertObjectFormula I still have the same problem because even the elements dock has these weird symbols. This is after changing the font in the program to Times just for a change. I'm not sure if there is a way to change the font on my computer outside LO that would affect LO. If so I will try it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
