[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95300] Impress stalls on 3-liner text block in Ubuntu 15.10 and 15.04 but not in 14.04 and 12.04
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95300 --- Comment #6 from ullix--- Well, the real cause for the bug is the screen resolution. The apparent correlation with age of CPU (my comment #5) is merely a consequence of older systems not supporting modern screen resolutions. When I give a presentation, I almost never know what hardware the host is providing and don't have the time to figure out, what setting of my laptop can be used to work. This problem must be solved, I am getting desperate! Keep in mind that this issue currently shows on the non-LTS versions of Ubuntu. Once the 16.04 LTS is available and more widely in use, and modern equipment becomes more generic, the issue will likely be hitting many others! I tested my DELL XPS13 with different screen resolutions on either the internal monitor, or an external one, or both: A-Rat is Aspect-Ratio Horizontal / Vertical Pixelcount in Megapixels Hori x Vert ... working? ... A-Rat ... Pixelcount 1920 x 1200 ... fail ... 1.60 2.30 1920 x 1080 ... fail ... 1.78 2.07 1680 x 1050 ... fail ... 1.60 1.76 1600 x 1200 ... fail ... 1.33 1.92 1600 x 1024 ... fail ... 1.56 1.64 1400 x 1050 ... fail ... 1.33 1.47 1600 x 900 ok . 1.78 1.44 1440 x 900 ok . 1.60 1.30 1368 x 768 ok . 1.78 1.05 1280 x 1024 ... ok . 1.25 1.31 1280 x 960 ok . 1.33 1.23 1024 x 768 ok . 1.33 0.79 640 x 480 . ok . 1.33 0.31 The aspect ratio can be excluded as cause, but the Pixelcount somehow may be the culprit. This is further supported from the result of using the internal monitor and the external one simultaneously. The 1280x960 resolution working ok on a single monitor failed on a 2-monitor setup, as if the total pixelcount of interal + external may be relevant. But there are too many variables to try further. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95381] New: FORMATTING: Autocorrect, changing 2 hypens to 1 em-dash
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95381 Bug ID: 95381 Summary: FORMATTING: Autocorrect, changing 2 hypens to 1 em-dash Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: Other OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: j...@cspv.hu Writing with Libreoffice Writer made me accustom to the behavior of this replacement... whenever I want to use an em-dash, I'll do my obligatory rounds, and it feels extremely stupid... note: I don't expect Writer to change ONE hyphen to an em-dash at all... what I'd expect is that when typing 2 hyphens it'd be changed into an em-dash.. without any considerations :) but it is NOT happening... strangely enough, on Linux (mint 17.2), it works like charm.. hitting 2 hyphens generates an em-dash, and THAT'S the thing... the thing what a writer would expect when writing with Writer :) as of now, when I type -- and one space after, NOTHING happens... I'll have to type another character(or string) PLUS one space, and then it'd change... which, I think, is bad behavior... I also don't like that after an end quote an em-dash is impossible (the change will never happen)... but that is another (important) thing.. that is, I'd expect 2 hyphens to be changed into an em-dash even if there's and end-quote before the 2 hyphens... - - - - to put it simple, I'd expect "hyphenhyphen" to be replaced with "em-dash" right after one space is typed after the second hyphen... I'd even expect an option in the config options to decide whether this change would happen ON hitting the second hyphen.. or only after a space has been typed... (both versions has advantages, without waiting for another space allows writers to use em-dash without framing spaces, which is the original use of em-dashes, I believe; the second, waiting for a following space allows 3 hyphens to be replaced to a one size greater dash) Of course, we (you) should first agree on what behavior would be the most ergonomic... thanks for your work! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

I am also maintaining a KDE application for more than 15 years, so I know about this topic from porting from KDE-3 to KDE-4. If you want some "external reference", please read here for the topic "library prefix": http://wiki.qt.io/Coding_Conventions -- citation begin -- Including headers In public header files, always use this form to include Qt headers: #include . The library prefix is neccessary for Mac OS X frameworks and is very convenient for non-qmake projects. -- citation end -- The lower case file names like "qwhatever.h" seem to be ok, but most people use the class name like "QWhatEver". https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95108 prc...@lykamspam.pl changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDINFO|NEW --- Comment #4 from prc...@lykamspam.pl --- I found, that the problem arise when scaling formulas (size change) even thought I used proportional scaling. Program (Impress) seems to change font size to adopt formula better to the scaling, but sometimes it fails to fit the new font proportions to proportions based on initial font size being resized. One can ask way I didn't use font size change inside formula editor that I could. I didn't know where it was and it is simpler to scale outside formula seeing effect shortly without blinking, flashing & jumping when opening and leaving formula editor! I think I can help myself with deformed formula symbols (thought not other letters) under scaling by: 1. Setting default size of the formula - as an object form outside. 2. Editing the formula again and setting symbol size from inside of formula editor basing on the experience what size was doing fine on the page or making 'trial and errors' effort to chose such one (every time living editor). At least It works for me but it doesn't solve the main problem: deformations of symbols in formulas being scaled from outside of the formula editor. I'm changing status to NEW since there are new "discoveries" about the source of the problem. Hopefully this time You will be able to recreate the problem on your computer. Otherwise I don't believe you would help that - thought it will be "user specific". https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87621 --- Comment #5 from Tor Lillqvist--- Re: comment #1: Unfortunately the type/subtype classification that exists in the code is not usable directly as basis for hierarchy in the UI, as for the (in theory optional) OpenGL transitions that were added in 2007 or so, we use an arbitrary mapping of invalid type-subtype pairs to transition types. Nominally most of these "new" transitions are of type "misc shape wipe" even if they have nothing to do with a shape wipe... with subtypes like "left to right", "top to bottom" etc that also have no relation to how the transitions actually look. (That these "new" transitions are implemented using OpenGL is an implementation detail which of course should not affect how they show up in the UI at all. Why they are "optional" is not entirely clear to me.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95397] New: Calc AutoFormat instructions
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95397 Bug ID: 95397 Summary: Calc AutoFormat instructions Product: LibreOffice Version: 4.4.5.2 release Hardware: Other OS: Windows (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Documentation Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: gmmell...@inwind.it Created attachment 120051 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=120051=edit autoform-newtest (screenshot) Having I performed various tests to understand the logic by which are initially stored and then applied the predefined models, I have reached these conclusions that it would be appropriate were stated in the help and guide instructions (please correct the imperfections of my English). Refer to attachment "autoform-newtest" and to my bug 95181. a) Rules for ADD the current formatting to the list of predefined AutoFormats: 1- Select all the range of the formatted "model" sheet (at least 4 x 4 cells) and click on Format - AutoFormat. (my note: about "Select all the range", it is wrong what I read in the IT guide PF1 instructing to choice Edit–Select all) The AutoFormat dialog then appears. Click Add, then enter a name and click OK. 2- Then, in the formatting options (usually selected), deselect those currently in your spreadsheet you want to keep into the predefined AutoFormat. In the preview field you can see a preview of the predefined formatting. Calc AutoFormat stores a predefined format using these criteria: the first row and the first column selected are considered to be “titles”, the last row and the last column are considered to be “totals” and other cells are considered to be "data". 3- Click CLOSE. (my note: don't click OK now, otherwise you can get a LO hang; see my bug 92506) b) Rules for APPLY a predefined AutoFormat to a sheet: 1- Select all the range of cells (at least 3x3) in the sheet to be formatted. 2- Open the the AutoFormat dialog clicking on Format - AutoFormat. 3- Select a specific formatting from the list of all predefined automatic formatting, select/deselect those options you want to be discarded/applied into the marked sheet. 4- Click OK to assign the format to the marked sheet. The predefined AutoFormat will be applied to new sheets regardless of the amount of cells to format (that is "titles/totals" formats will be applied to the first row and the first column in the selection, "data" formats will be applied to all other cells in the selection. c) Rules for DELETE/RENAME a predefined AutoFormat: 1- Open the the AutoFormat dialog clicking on Format - AutoFormat. (my note: the AutoFormat selection is usually inhibited; in order to disinhibit it, previously select fictitiously a range of any cells) 2- Select a specific formatting from the list of all predefined automatic formatting. 3- Click Delete or Rename. Cicking Rename you will be asked for a new name, enter it in and click OK. 4- Click CLOSE.
