[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99110] New: Calc format shows incorrect translations for dates written in words in Ukrainian language

2016-04-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99110

Bug ID: 99110
Summary: Calc format shows incorrect translations for dates
written in words in Ukrainian language
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Localization
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: sun...@hotmail.ru

How to reproduce:
Open Calc -> Moth Right Click -> Format Cells -> Numbers -> Date -> choose any
format that shows month in words for example "DD "

What it shows:
30 Листопад 2015

What it should show:
30 листопада 2015

what's now -> what's expected
Січень -> січня
Лютий -> лютого
Березень -> березня
Квітень -> квітня
Травень -> травня
Червень -> червня
Липень -> липня
Серпень -> серпня
Вересень -> вересня
Жовтень -> жовтня
Листопад -> листопада
Грудень -> грудня

Also a capital letter is generally not required for dates(in our country) if
day is specified though having both variant would be nice.

I don't know if you're reusing those dates somewhere else but dates that are
under "what's now" aren't useful for dates that specify the day only if there
is a month and/or a year in the cell(example: 30 липня OR 30 липня 2017 OR
Липень OR Липень 2017)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 89960] Suggestion to Change Style Behavior in Relation to Direct Formatting

2016-04-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89960

I agree with both Joel's cases, although personally I think that the user's
last election should overwrite all previous ones.

For example often you are working with documents created elsewhere. Power users
need to be able to apply styles over existing direct formatting.

Naive users will continue with direct formatting.

My experience is that I will apply styles first, then overwrite specific parts
with direct formatting where I need an uncommon local style. To do it the other
way round makes a difficult workflow where you can't see the look and feel of
the document until you've finished.

LibreOffice Writer is the only package I've seen which does not overwrite
previous selections with more recent ones.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83726] Applying Styles Does Not Consistently Set Character Properties

2016-04-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83726

I've just spent the last two hours trying to figure out why my styles aren't
being applied correctly (to a document written elsewhere) so I'd support Joel's
proposal.

This is just a terrible UI decision. Witness the fact that AFAIK LibreOffice is
the only package I've seen to follow this approach.

And it makes it excessively troublesome to use styles rather than direct
formatting which at least gives you what you expect.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99109] New: Program freeze and maxed-out RAM on undo frame-style.

2016-04-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99109

Bug ID: 99109
Summary: Program freeze and maxed-out RAM on undo frame-style.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.4.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: theirw...@netzero.com

I applied a custom frame style to a non-floating frame (by double-
clicking it in the list of styles in the sidebar). When I tried to
undo the style change, the Writer froze and RAM use maxed out. I had
to try several times to get Task Manager to close it. I tried the
same thing again later and got the same problem.
It appeared that the frame was converted into a floating frame by
the style application. My guess is that the undo data for a float-
ing frame is incompatable with that of a non-floating one and con-
fused Writer.

Having reverted back to 5.0.4.2, I have noticed another thing that may point
the developers to the problem.

In 5.0.4.2, when there have been no modifications to the Workbook, the SAVE
button is disabled. In 5.1.1.3, the SAVE button is ALWAYS LIVE even if there
have not been any edits ..

And, to repeat, it is when the file is saved that all the corruption happens in
terms of WRAP TEXT and BACKGROUND COLOUR settings.

Wrap Text and Background Colour for cells is broken in all versions of 5.1.

First : Wrap Text does not persist.

Second : Background colour randomly disappears.

This happens on XP, Win7, Win8.1, Win10.

And it is not just a cosmetic issue : if you open the file in Excel, the same
things show as taken off - it all happens when SAVING the file.

Actually there is a second problem. The validation import does not set the
position because as we can see in the mso-dumper output that the range is
imported after the formula. I fear I need to think a bit about that.

Awkward gaps have been the norm in the .src-based dialogs. This change is

Bug isnt there in master.

I believe the cause of the problem is the formula renderer, as 5.1 doesnt
render formula's correctly, as can be seen in the screenshot. The bug happens
after scrolling past the metafile on page 3, which is the formula "S = πR^{2} -
πr^{2} = π(R^{2} - r^{2})".

Clearly #2. The preview needs alignment - or whitespace. And "Do not show on
first page" title and indentation. The HR has no reason, or does it?
'Apply to All' is same confusing as 'Apply to Current'. Better solution would
be to start the dialog from different origins, like master = apply to all vs.
context menu = apply current. Somehow.

Is there any update for the issue? I believe it has to do with openGL and the
KDE environment. Enabling openGL in the gnome shell fixes the blacked icons.
Enabling openGL in KDE plasma 5 does not actually enables it (I get the
"openGL: Not enabled" message below the option) even when forcing it (the
second option).
Is there a fix or a manual way to enable openGL? (some command?)

I did not manage to install those builds on Arch Linux, it was problematic
since it doesn't use rpm or deb.

So I compiled it myself from the git repository. That should be fine, right?
Even never if anything.

The problem persists though, sadly.

Your export is correct when I view it though, so the problem doesn't seem to be
with my PDF viewers.

Here's the info:

2016-04-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon

   Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED

current vs two mockups

While watching a video tutorial i noticed now badly aligned the header and
footer dialog was and decided to do so mockups for its improvement. Here are
the list of improvements illustrated in the mockup.

1) Alignment - Correctly align child label/controls under their parents and
align input controls together

2) Labels - Change 'Fixed' and 'Footer text:' to 'Text:' and 'Language:' to
'Locale:'

3) Separator - As 'Do not show on the first slide' checkbox is not related to
the preview.

4) The 'Slide' tab has the heading 'Include in Slide' and the 'Notes and
Handouts' tab has the heading 'Include in page', so one of these need to be
changed to correct the case.

5) Was wondering if we should change the 'Apply to All' button to simply
'Apply', as applying header and footer properties to all slides is what is the
most common. If so, then we should likely change the 'Apply' button to
something like 'Apply to Current Slide'.

These changes would be made both to the 'Slide' and 'Notes and Handouts' tabs.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99104] Left or right aligned labels

2016-04-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99104

The KDE HIG (it is still relevant at the current version 5) wasn't written
without discussion
(https://mail.kde.org/pipermail/kde-guidelines/2014-January/000626.html). The
decision is based on a survey
(http://user-prompt.com/kde-hig-survey-about-how-to-align-controls-over-multiple-groups/)
where 2/3 voted for this type of alignment. However, the drawback is clearly
when labels differ in size, but in this case it works also not well with
left-aligned captions. Another objection was based on the consideration that
users read the labels - and that is preferrably done from left (given LTR
orientation). Unfortunately this option wasn't included in the short poll.

We should also take into consideration that alignment might depend on the OS.
So familiarity would be likely violated in some cases.

When my DDE source "Think or Swim" from TD Ameritrade freezes and is closed, I
am left with an error window box in Libre Calc Telling me of the error and to
re-open source to continue which cannot be done as it has to be open first in
order for calc to read the data properly. The problem is the error window only
has an "OK" button that has me clicking through hundreds if not thousands of
individual cells, presumably until the last one. I have to use windows Task
Manager to KILL Libre Office instead.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Select OK for links in document to be updated
2.source has a problem with the delivery causing it to crash
3.Kill Calc with windows task manager, or click through thousands of cells.
Actual Results:
failure

Expected Results:
Should have extra button in error window box to cancel the update.

I've noticed little by little left aligned labels have been changing to right
aligned in the sidebar and dialogs and i believe this isnt a good UI, so i'm
bringing it up so it can be discussed and put to rest and then added to our new
HIG.

KDE 4's HIG is an example of the right aligned label and left aligned controls.

> To encourage use of styles over direct formatting, might this rework be

> Formatting Sidebar deck?

Impress doesnt have paragraph or character styles, it only has textbox-level
styles called 'Presentation Styles' which is a mix of character, paragraph,
bullet, line, and area properties defined at the master slide level. When in
outline view, a user can only modify text in textboxes with presentation styles
of Title, Subtitle, and Outline X, based on the slide layout the slide has.

Was testing the Styles & Formatting deck in outline view and it doesnt update
the properties of the presentation styles according to which slide is selected
and keeps the properties according to master slide of slide 1. Likely another
bug to file. :D

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98887] Scaling higher than 108% leads to defective display in text boxes in menu bar

2016-04-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98887

Hi all,

thanks a lot for your efforts.

Yes - there seems to be a link to bug 83267.

I further investigated on the bug.

The defect does not occur in widget style QtCurve - it seems to interfere with
the widget style "Breeze" in KDE Plasma...

As I came to the conclusion, that LibreOffice and all the other applications
look much better in QtCurve, I simply changed the withget style.

However, if there is a chance to fix that bug, it would be great - even if it
is not relevant for me anymore... LibreOffice is an outstanding result of work
provided by a lot of people - with some alignments in the Look and Feel - which
seems from my point of view the only notionable weakness for a lot of people -
the acceptance of that work could be increased extremely!

Thanks again all of you for providing that excellent application!

Cheers,
Kenzo

I tried ODBC today and see the exact same issue in Libre Base 5.1.x.If the ODBC
or JDBC Data Source contains a period '.' in it's path it will append anything
after that period to the table name. I tried quotation marks and single quotes
with no luck. Is this a known issue? I can't find anything about it online and
have found that this issue does not exist if I use MS Access 2013 to connect to
my Advantage Data Dictionary or if I use RazorSQL.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99093] Wrong Data Validation in Calc

2016-04-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99093

(In reply to Tor Lillqvist from comment #6)
> Thanks Igor, that means that also moggi's fix for the column wrap-around
> case causes a similar problem then. Whew, I am not alone;)

Interestingly mso-dumper reports what we expect:

01BEh: =
01BEh: DV - Data Validation Criteria (01BEh)
01BEh: size = 43
01BEh: -
01BEh: 01 01 5C 00 01 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 ..\.
01BEh: 01 00 00 00 05 00 00 00 4C 00 00 FF C0 00 00 FF L...
01BEh: FF 01 00 04 00 04 00 03 00 03 00 ...
01BEh: -
01BEh: type: whole number (0x1)
01BEh: error style: stop icon (0x0)
01BEh: list of valid inputs: no
01BEh: allow blank: yes
01BEh: suppress down-down in cell: no
01BEh: IME mode: No Control (0x0)
01BEh: show input message: yes
01BEh: show error message: yes
01BEh: operator type: Less Than (0x5)
01BEh: formula 1 (bytes): 4C 00 00 FF C0
01BEh: formula 1 (displayed): (single-ref: col=255[rel],row=0[rel])
01BEh: formula 2 (bytes):
01BEh: formula 2 (displayed):
01BEh: range: $D$5:$D$5

So basically we still have a wrap around case but I think we missed the wrap
around the other side case. In the code here we have a 4 + 255 = 259; if we now
calculate this mod 256 we get the expected result of 3.

I'll fix both commits and a add a set of tests for these conditions.

Good, and how is OpenGL behaving regards the font preview? Does OpenGL enable
for your graphics card and driver--either DE (kde-xfce or kde plasma)?

You might want to check if the crashes continue with a current build of master
or the 5.1 release. And if the crashes continue with later releases, ideally
what we'd need is to catch a stack trace from a debug build.

Are you able to roll your own from source?

If not, you can try to use the large Linux debug builds of master/5.2.0alpha0
packaged as DEB or RPM format--but believe you'd need to convert for use on
Slackware with deb2tgz or rpm2tgz. I don't drive a Slackware build, so YMMV on
converting the packages.

If it's not obvious from its name, you can also check the "Type" property of a
filter. It maps to an entry from filter/source/config/fragments/types/, and
there you can find file extensions. (Remember to compare by oor:name attribute,
not by file names!)

1) or 3) is what you're looking for (they both for xlsx).

Well, I gave it already in my previous comment, but I'll repeat it here - "Calc

Screenshot page 3 LO 5.2+ vs. MSO 2013 with PPT re-saved in MSO

But, this screen shot shows that LO reads file properly if re-saved in MSO.
It's not probable this will ever be fixed.
So, I recommend this be closed as WontFix.

LO 4.3.3 saved 3 formulas as OLE.
In current versions LO converts all Equation OLE to Math, like explained in
https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Microsoft_Office.

If saved to DOCX, it's open properly in MSO.
Microsoft Word 2010 includes built-in support for writing equations to XML.
Equation Editor is not used, but instead equations are edited directly from
within Word.

Tested with 5.0.5. I guess this one is for WFM.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99102] New: rendering of linejoin miter differs between edit mode and presentation mode if antialiasing is on

2016-04-05 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99102

Bug ID: 99102
Summary: rendering of linejoin miter differs between edit mode
and presentation mode if antialiasing is on
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.2 all versions
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de

Created attachment 124094
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=124094&action=edit
The default minimum angle for miter is 15°.

Set your LibreOffice to not use OpenGL.

1. Switch Antialiasing off. Open the attached file. Look at it in edit mode and
in presentation mode.
2. Switch Antialiasing on. Again look at the file in edit mode and in
presentation mode.

Expected behavior: The shapes look the same in edit mode and presentation mode.

Seen behavior: A miter limit is used in presentation mode and in edit mode
without antialiasing. No miter limit is used in edit mode, if antialiasing is
on.

I see the problem since Version: 4.2.5.2
Build ID: 6ff819b65674ae6c83f3cbab9e4a4c2b292a7a94

My PC cannot use OpenGL, but I would like to know the test result for the case
OpenGL too. Please add your findings, if you can use OpenGL.
