[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99999] New: Thesaurus in LO does not handle antonyms
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9 Bug ID: 9 Summary: Thesaurus in LO does not handle antonyms Product: LibreOffice Version: Inherited From OOo Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Linguistic Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: ba...@caesar.elte.hu In English (USA) language, type the word "normally", and see right click->Synonyms, in particular: "remarkably" and "unremarkably", which are opposites. Checking thesaurus via right click->Synonyms->Thesaurus reveals that only "unremarkably" is a synonym, "remarkably" is an antonym. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99956] In formulas with circular references are not always showed the Error 522 with all calc functions. (Deactivated Iterations option)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99956 --- Comment #13 from Howard Brown--- Sorry, I don't understand how your example applies to what I'm doing. Have you looked at the video I uploaded? It clearly shows the behaviour that I described in my other comments in this topic. I created four different named ranges, where the first one is a range of values over multiple rows, which needs to grow when new lines are inserted anywhere in it's range. The other named ranges use the first one to calculate a value and need to move as new lines are added to or deleted from the first range. I then position the active cell somewhere in the spreadsheet, but I do not insert any lines nor do I delete any rows. Next I open the range manager to look at the defined named ranges and I often find that the defined ranges have changed to different cell ranges that have no relationship with the data my calculations are supposed to work on. How can this be useful. It invalidates the calculations based on the named ranges and the results are wrong. To me the proof that something is wrong is that if I do the same thing using explicit relative cell references they don't randomly change. Also, this doesn't happen when I use Excel. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8 Bug ID: 8 Summary: there needs to be an event that signals a complete loading of the document Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.1.2.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: randomcod...@gmail.com Created attachment 125238 --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=125238=edit document having varying number of pages while loading (in writer) I will explain why this is a proble: If the document keeps loading, people like me (who use UNO API) will think of ways to try and find when it has completed loading. The problem is, the ways for finding that out are mostly waiting-loops, and thus are not exactly reliable. The API should send some event or have an easy way to wait until the document is fully loaded. And I'm even attaching a docx file so you can see what I mean. For some reason, this document has a varying number of pages until it loads completely. First it has 90, then 91 then 92, then it decreases fast back to 55. That document does indeed have 55 pages, but it would be better if one could know exactly how many pages it has from the API. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99956 m.a.riosvchanged: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #12 from m.a.riosv --- You have the explanation in commen#9, I try to explain again. New spreadsheet Go to B10 Create a new named range relative to 'A1' Go to B12 Go to edit named ranges Now the reference is 'A3', what it's right, two cells bellow the cell where you were when the named range was created. Go to C10 Go to edit named ranges Now the reference is 'B1', right again, one cell to the right of cell where you were when the named range was created. This means that relative references in named ranges are always relatives to the cell 'where you are' when the named range is created. So it's needed to be cautious on how to use relative address in named ranges, they are specially useful to create named formulas, that you can use in different places. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=7 --- Comment #1 from XQ--- My concern is mostly on the consistency and expecations side. Because if this was mentioned in the documentation, I'd be like, I'm ok with that because I read it was a problem and I should take care of it, but I didn't find it in the docs. On the other hand, I feel like this is a sane default to have, maybe ? not sure. I mean, refreshing the document by default would incur some additional processing. In effect, on a XSearchable search they do not show up in the results, but if the document is refreshed prior to doing the search, they show up just fine. My suggestion is that either this should be specifically mentioned in the documentation and reflected in the UNO API examples or it should not be required for a user to refresh the document, and it should happen implicitly as part of the UNO API default behaviour. I view this as the intuitive way of solving this problem. I look forward to your thoughts on this. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99956] In formulas with circular references are not always showed the Error 522 with all calc functions. (Deactivated Iterations option)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99956 --- Comment #11 from Howard Brown--- Oh, the relative range I describe would also change if new lines were added before the range, too, but the beginning row would be fixed at $B$24, I believe that only the range's end would move down. However, in my spreadsheet lines would only be added between the beginning and end of the range, so having the range expand is exactly what I'm looking for. The issue is that Calce is changing the named range even though I'm not adding new rows and often the range reported in the range manager appears to be wrong, as is the case where the ROWS function with the parameter $B$24:$B35 having a result other than 10. Sometimes it's less than 10 and others it's greater than 10, but the range still shows $B$24:$B35. Other times the range shows an entirely different range, but in all cases I didn't add or remove any lines in or above the named range area of the spreadsheet that I created the named range with. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99956 Howard Brownchanged: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |UNCONFIRMED Ever confirmed|1 |0 --- Comment #10 from Howard Brown --- > What you comment as fixed references are denominated as absolute reference > and not fixed are relative references. Thank you, I wasn't sure what to call the types of cell references that I was using, so I used a descriptive term in quotes to try to make the actions as clear as I could. By the way, when you use a $ before the column, but not before the row, is that still a relative reference or is it called something else? Anyway, as I understand it a relative reference range like I'm using, i.e., $B$24:$B33 should remain unchanged unless I insert new rows between rows 24 and 33, but this isn't happening, as demonstrated in the video I uploaded. I misunderstood what was causing the Err:522 errors when I first reported it, thinking that the problem had to do with the named range begins used in the numerator of the percent completion formula and the spreadsheet conversion to the excel .xls format, but as I worked with the problem further, I found that other formulas were 'outputting' Err:522 messages, and that the spreadsheet could be saved as native .ods files or not even safed. > Why do you have changed the status? My mistake, I thought I was supposed to do that. Mainly, I was trying to respond to the assertion that the problem I was reporting was cause by my creating the named range with circular references, but that's just a symptom of the real problem, which is that Calc was incorrectly and randomly changing the named ranges I created using relative cell references, and sometimes the results are circular references. While I didn't at first know the actual cause of the problem and I didn't use the right terms in my description of the problem, the issue is has been the same all along. I'm not reporting new problems, only a more complete description of what is happening and I think it is a pretty big issue for Calc when you can't trust that a named range won't be corrupted, so I reported it. I experienced this by accident with LibO V 5.0.2.2 (x64) release under Win 10, UI=English(UK), locale=German(Germany). Changing the locale to English(UK) did not change the behaviour. The attached test file can be used to demonstrate this, and has been tested under these versions: LO 3.3.0.6 under Linux Mint 17.1 xfce LO 4.0.0.3 under Linux Mint 17.1 xfce LO 4.0.6.2 under MacOS 10.5.8 LO 4.2.8.2 under Linux Mint 17.1 xfce LO 5.1.3.2 under Linux Mint 17.1.xfce LO 5.2.0.0alpa1 under Linux Mint 17.1 xfce This behaviour seems to have been inherited from OpenOffice - see this 2010-vintage Open Office forum discussion: https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7=30663 IMO, there are two (interrelated?) serious bugs here: 1. It should be possible to switch on inclusion of paragraphs with the Hidden flag set in PDF generated with the "Export as PDF ..." command. 2. If paragraphs with the Hidden flag set would by default be printed (i.e. the Preferences>LibreOffice Writer>Print>Hidden Text flag is on), then the preview displayed with File>Page Preview should show it. IMO there are also two related minor bugs: 3. It would be better if display of hidden text were made independent of the View>Nonprinting characters setting. Surely display of non-printing characters (such as Paragraph marks) is orthogonal to displaying Hidden Text? 4. It would be better if the "View>Hidden Paragraphs" option controlled the display of Paragraph styles whose Hidden option is set. Under the Principle of Least Surprise, any reasonable person would refer to a Paragraph style with the Hidden flag set as a "Hidden Paragraph", and therefore expect the "View>Hidden Paragraphs" option to control its display. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99994] Crash on insert SVG file svgio::svgreader::SvgCharacterNode::createSimpleTextPrimitive
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4 --- Comment #1 from sam tygier--- The bug occurs in SvgCharacterNode::createSimpleTextPrimitive() in the section: OUString aFontFamily = rSvgStyleAttributes.getFontFamily().empty() ? OUString("Times New Roman") : rSvgStyleAttributes.getFontFamily()[0]; The second clause gets called, and tries to access the zeroth element of an empty vector. The "empty()" test is not effective at preventing this as getFontFamily() returns a different vector on the second call. (Fun Heisenbug as putting "cout << rSvgStyleAttributes.getFontFamily().size()" or similar above changes the behaviour.) The problem is that getFontFamily() can call SvgStyleAttributes::setCssStyleParent() and so the style can be changed. The simple fix is to just reuse the result from the first call to getFontFamily(). That way the test is effective and preventing the invalid access. I guess proper fix is to make getFontFamily() deterministic. I have not yet quite understood the code well enough to understand how. Perhaps it needs to be made so that that all the style resolution that can call the the 'set' methods occurs before createSimpleTextPrimitive() gets called. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99956] In formulas with circular references are not always showed the Error 522 with all calc functions. (Deactivated Iterations option)
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99956 --- Comment #6 from Howard Brown--- The comment I entered with the last version of the spreadsheet was lost. Here it is again. The circular reference was created by Calc, not me. I entered the correct cell references in the ranges I created, but then Calc changed them apparently randomly. I know this because after I saw that the calculations weren't working properly, I opened the range manager and saw that the named ranges would often have the wrong cell references. This problem is not associated with saving the spreadsheet as in the .xls format. It happens in the native .ods format, too. Actually, the spreadsheet doesn't even need to be saved at all, this problem often occurs just by clicking on different cells in the sheet and then opening the range manager. What I do know is using 'fixed' cell references, i.e., $B$24 and $B$24:$B$33 works properly, but changing the cell references to 'non-fixed' cell references, i.e., B24, $B24, and $B$24:$B33, so that new data can be automatically accommodated by the formulas without needing to edit the cell ranges, causes Calc to change the cell ranges, even if no new rows are added above the calculations using the named ranges. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

For this file, LibreOffice's(4.2.8.2 Build ID: 420m0 Build:2) UI freezes and there's no way even manually to browse the document, and memory consumption increases at a rate of 15 MB/s (as reported by htop). This is most likely a memory leak. I have attached the file to this bug report. I was not able to reproduce the problem on 5.1.2.2 (the LO version that comes with Ubuntu 16.04 Build ID: 1:5.1.2-0ubuntu1). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44731] PDF import problems with gradients and patterns
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44731 --- Comment #15 from Heiko Tietze--- (In reply to kitaets from comment #14) > Is it really PDF import to LO Draw or may be PDF export? When I create a rectangle in Draw, fill it with a gradient from black to white, export to pdf and reopen the pdf, the object is rasterized (same as for svg in tdf#64464). Looking into the raw pdf file there is nothing obviously wrong. I'm not saying the export filter has no bugs, but do we really need two tickets? Having a large list to go through might be discouraging. Anyway, feel free to reactivate the duplicate if you think it's necessary (in this case set blocks 99746 and see as well 44731 please). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
