By the way:

It's also not possible to change the order of master pages. There is no actual
need for this in creating a presentation. But it may be convenient to be able
to change the order.

E.g. putting the master pages into the order, by which they are used in the
presentation pages.

And I don't really see a reason why the order isn't adjustable!?

It is possible to change the system settings, but this doesn't stop the
blinking in LibreOffice in OS X. I have been able to stop the blinking in
Textedit, using the Mac's settings, and in Firefox, using Firefox's settings. I
understand that users *have* been able to use the system settings to stop the
blinking in Linux and Windows.

Looks like there is a decision about by default disable OpenCL for Calc.
http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Disabling-of-OpenCL-by-default-in-Calc-tc4186719.html
http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Libreoffice-qa-minutes-of-ESC-call-tc4187634.html

After a lot of effort from a lot of people: having issues, reporting, doing
triage, and developers solving them, now disable by default, seems a bit
strange, but let's go.

On one hand, OpenCL it's really an important option with some less powerful
computers like celerons, there is a great different working with spreadsheets
that are a bit heavy.
On the other, IMO most of the users don't worry about review the options and
test them, if we don't facilitate to take advantage of OpenCL, a lot of great
work for nothing.

So a clear flag on the status bar, like 'OpenCL' in red if disable and green if
enable, can brings more attention about it. With a clicking on it to change
their status and ask for restart LibreOffice.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 83325] EDITING: Make document settings available in File > Properties

2016-06-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83325

Robert Gonzalez MX  changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||riggra...@gmail.com

--- Comment #7 from Robert Gonzalez MX ---
In my opinion, bug 98453 is not a duplicate of bug 83325, but they are related.

Bug 98453 is about a problem with the units of measure with the current
framework of Draw. If in the Draw global settings the units of measure are
centimeters, and a Draw file saved in inches is opened, Draw should adjust or
change the default units for the units of the file in that instance. As the
rulers do.

The bug 83325 is a request for making the settings of the grid, the units of
measure and the scale, part of the file properties, and not the global settings
of Draw. Then Draw will use it to adjust the instance of the working file to
that settings, and it will not be necessary to define those settings in Tools -
Options - General.

If this is not likely to be developed, at least bug 98453 should be attended so
the users can work with drawings with different units, without having to go to
Tools - Options - General, to change the default units, each time a drawing
with different units is opened.

Although it will be necessary to keep going to Tools - Options - General, to
define a new drawing file, when the units of measure were different from the
usual units used.

I think this could be the first step for further development of bug 83325; if
Draw can adjust those settings in the working instance of the file, then later
on can be developed the code to include the grid, units and scale settings to
the file properties, that override the default or global settings, and
ultimately be removed.

Sadly I still can't participate with coding, but I am studying and preparing
myself to get involved. But is a slow process.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100443] Copy/Cut/Paste shortcut keys not recognized

2016-06-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100443

--- Comment #4 from Charles Lindsey  ---
OK, I think I have cracked it. I took your advice and consulted the people on
the #libreoffice-dev IRC channel, and they pointed me at gtksalframe.cxx.

But first some history:
In the beginning, there was X-Windows, which introduced an initial set of
keysyms (see keysym.h and keysymdef.h).
Then various vendors (DEC, Apollo, HP, Sun) added new keys to their products,
and invented new keysyms to go with them, with numbers of the form
0x1000 see DECkeysym.h, ap_keysym.h and HPkeysym.h
0x1004 see HPkeysym.h (which includes also OSF_Keysyms)
0x1005 see Sunkeysym.h
all totally incompatible (for example, there are three versions of
Copy/Cut/Paste in there)
Finally, XFree86 invented a grand new list to encompass the lot:
0x1008 see XF86keysym.h
(so now there are four versions of Copy/Cut/Paste).

Modern Linux systems (certainly Ubuntu, probably Debian, no experience of
Redhat) seem to map keys to XF86 keysyms where possible. In both gtk-2.0 and
gtk-3.0, gdk/gdkkeysyms.h always uses them where available. Even
gdk/gdkkeysyms-compat.h uses them. So it seems the XF86 keysyms (using
0x1008) are here to stay, and all the older ones (using 0x100[045]) and
to be deprecated and reserved to legacy systems (and yes, I realise I have just
relegated Solaris to legacy :-) ).

But Libreoffice (and doubtless Openoffice too) have not got around to accepting
XF86 keysyms yet, and that is the cause of the present bug. However, it is
easily fixed. Within gtksalframe.cxx you will find the function GetKeyCode(),
which I have rewritten (see attached file, which can be included in
gtksalframe.cxx as it stands, provided you attend to the comments about
#include files at the start). It should be OK for either gtk-2.0 or gtk-3.0.

I have not tested this (beyond ensuring that it compiles correctly), but what I
have done is to hack the library
/usr/lib/libreoffice/program/libvclplug_gtklo.so
with a binary editor to achieve the same effect, and it works like a charm.

Note that the Sun keys Props and Front do not have suitable XF86 forms, so they
remain in the 0x1005 form (and Ubuntu, at least, still maps them that way).
Also the Sun key Stop (which gets mapped to the keysym Cancel) has no obvious
KeyCode on the Libreoffice side. You will see that I have mapped it to
KEY_ESCAPE as a temporary measure, but I would strongly recommend that you guys
should invent a KeyCode KEY_CANCEL to make a proper job of it.

I expected some difficulty in binding these keys to their proper functions,
because they did not appear in the Customize-Keyboard popup, but it turns out
that KEY_OPEN, KEY_COPY, KEY_CUT and KEY_PASTE are, by default, bound to their
respective actions as expected and so my personal problem is solved.

Nevertheless, I decided to investigate why they were not appearing in that
popup. It appears that accfg.cxx contains a list
static const sal_uInt16 KEYCODE_ARRAY[] =
{ ... }
which contains all the KeyCodes (with modifiers) that are allowed to appear in
the Customize-Keyboard popup, and from that list it chooses those which appear
to be supported by the hardware. So it uses a huge switch in
SalDisplay::GetKeyName(), which can be found in saldisp.cxx, to obtain a
keysym, then calls XKeysymToKeycode() to get an X11-KeyCode, and if that
succeeds (indicating that such a binding exists), uses XKeysymToString() to
find its name. The trouble is that mapping, say, KEY_COPY to a keysym (the
inverse of what GetKeyCode() does) is one-to-many, so should it try 0x1005FF72
or should it try 0x1008FF57 (or even 0x1000FF02 0x1004FF02). Currently it just
tries 0x1005FF72, which is fine for Solaris, but not for Linux.

I attach a revised version of SalDisplay::GetKeyName(), which calls
GetServerVendor() to discover whether the local system is running Solaris, and
hence which keysyms to use. An alternative would be to use an
#if defined(SOLARIS) ... #endif
to achieve the same effect. I have not tested this code in any way, but I am
sure that it (or something pretty close to it) will solve the problem.

So that's two bugs fixed for you, hopefully, and I hope time can be found to
implement them into your main trunk.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100702] New: Paste Plain Text

2016-06-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100702

Bug ID: 100702
   Summary: Paste Plain Text
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jna3...@louisiana.edu

It would help to have a 'Paste Plain Text', something that is direct and only
one command/key stroke set.

And one that works.

I constantly paste from different platforms, and I only need the text
Currently when I hit 'Paste Special' or Ctrl+Shift+v, I have to select from 1
to 6 options (and I'm always puzzled about selecting from just one option; it's
like a drop-down menu with only one-option, what's the point? why the extra
step?), and the options change depending on what I'm pasting to, and from.

Then when I want to paste from the web into the LibreOffice spreadsheet? OMG.
I have way too many options, and even then, when I only select numbers and
letters, javascript commands are included, as well as that grayed-out stuff
that comes from html. The only way to clear it out is to paste into Wordpad,
make a small modification, then copy it, and paste it back into the
spreadsheet; but then it does not recognize the carriage returns, and I have to
remember exactly what buttons to push to get JUST LETTERS AND NUMBERS.

This can't be that hard. Please please please help. One command/key set to
paste only alpha-numerics.

--- Comment #5 from Heiko Tietze  ---
The special character was discussed together with a toolbar feature here
http://user-prompt.com/de/libreoffice-design-session-special-character/

Making the dialog amodal is not a good solution. Feature-wise it might work but
not when consistency and familiarity is relevant.

So, this seems like a really straight forward proposal. Can the Special
Character dialog be adjusted to remain open but not linked to the edit cursor
on the document canvas? Then reread edit cursor location when activated with a
character pick?

the middle of the preceding or following characters, etc.

This is not the case for MONTHS(), YEARS() or WEEKS(). Any value other than 1

Adding bug 81118 to the see also--implementing these two issues really should
be linked as they will require similar handling in source.

--- Comment #4 from V Stuart Foote  ---
No, in DTP work during layout it is very common to place images onto a Drawing
canvas that extend beyond the page setting. This is valid.

We need to do either of two things, 1) as here--expand the canvas (and the page
as background) to the extents of all image or drawing objects, and then apply a
margin. Or, 2) enforce a cliping mask--either to the existing page size, or
dynamically by corner drag, but probably without applying a margin as default
(make margin optional adding to content after clipping).

In either case the resulting Drawing document page should then resize larger as
needed--regardless of the original page/canvas size and margin when creating
the document.

Size would of necessity become custom/user set, and there may need to be
adjustments to handling with print dialogs, e.g. a shrink to fit.

Would suggest that the same methods to support this would also support going
the opposite direction of reducing page custom size of document canvas of bug
81118.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100698] New: Object Styles Should Include a Size Option

2016-06-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100698

Bug ID: 100698
   Summary: Object Styles Should Include a Size Option
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: erw...@alumni.beloit.edu

A couple months ago, I had to redo a drawing to correct the sizes of a series
of hundreds of boxes in the drawing. It can be hard to do that by hand. It
could be helpful to be able to do that automatically, possibly using styles.

Something similar to the "position and size" window, but without position,
might work.

Something independent of color styles might work better than something linked
to color styles, so that if there are 2 box sizes, and 12 colors, they would
require 14 instead of 24 styles.

This bug is saying that libreoffice impress is BROKEN.
It is dysfunctional for most cases.
Of course, there might be further bugs that should be
solved before you could call impress usable again,
hence I understand your step.

But, at least, please, rise the priority of 100540 to high!

Automatize change (increase) size of page - is good idea.
Automatize change (decrease) size of page - is bad idea, will problem with
print drawing due to printer settings.

also, WORKSFORME - will non correct status. may be NOTABUG or better to just
realize this feature? =)

--- Comment #12 from Heiko Tietze  ---
Regina gave advices how to deal with transparent text boxes. However, the
accessibility of object selection has room for improvements. Alt+clicking
through the stack works but not for handicapped people and not when you
accidently double click. We need an alternative interaction, at best using the
navigator.

I renamed the ticket accordingly.

So far we have this many images:

(gdb) p maObjList
$1 = std::__debug::vector of length 4511,

so some 16 million in the N^2 - should be ~instant - modulo the horribly slow
debugging iterators (but Denis shouldn't see those in a release build).

(gdb) p pObj->GetSizeBytes()
$2 = 32400
(gdb) p mnUsedSize
$3 = 92467620
(gdb) p nMaxCacheSize
$4 = 6711

Which is interesting ... on that basis increasing the graphics cache size to
something much larger might significantly help as a workaround - but is no real
fix, obviously.

Interestingly the GraphicManager:

for(sal_uInt32 a(0); mnUsedSize >= nMaxCacheSize && a <
aCandidates.size(); a++)
{
// swap out until we have no more or the goal to use less than
nMaxCacheSize
// is reached
GraphicObject* pObj = aCandidates[a];
if( pObj == pGraphicToIgnore )
{
continue;
}
if (std::find(maObjList.begin(), maObjList.end(), pObj) ==
maObjList.end())
{
// object has been deleted when swapping out another one
continue;
}

// do not swap out when we have less than 16KB data objects
if(pObj->GetSizeBytes() >= (16 * 1024))
{
pObj->FireSwapOutRequest();
}

Looks like it could (potentially) loop infinitely - if we blew the cache size
with lots of small (ie. less than 16k) images ...

I wonder if this is what happens in this case (?).

Of course there is a nice N^2 in the loop there with the std::find and the
iteration - but can we -really- have -that- many images ? =)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100461] CELL function - InfoType ADDRESS does not include the sheet name if on same sheet (see comment #6)

2016-06-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100461

--- Comment #7 from Eike Rathke  ---
Just to add more details to the mess:

Actually for a different sheet the return string depends on the current
reference style, which doesn't make things easier.

For LibreOffice, in CalcA1 it is "$Sheet1.$A$1", in ExcelA1 it is
"Sheet1!$A$1" and in ExcelR1C1 it is "Sheet1!R1C1", but that is
implementation specific and should be congruent with what ADDRESS()
delivers and INDIRECT() can digest. LibreOffice supports all three
syntax modes.

Excel returns "[Book1]Sheet2!$A$1" for a new unsaved document or
"[Book2.xlsx]Sheet2!$A$1" for a saved document, so includes even the
file name (which must be a legacy of when each sheet was a separate file
and documents with more than one sheet didn't exist).
In R1C1 reference style Excel returns "[Book1]Sheet2!R1C1" or
"[Book2.xlsx]Sheet2!R1C1".

Gnumeric version 1.12.29 apparently never returns a sheet name.

As Regina said there are numerous ways and none makes you loose selection.

When you report a bug or ask for a feature request please take into
consideration that we need a good description of what you want to achieve and
how you tried.

The howto with some examples of good and bad examples is here:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugReport

Closing this as INVALID.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100693] FORMATTING MS-COMPAT: fo: wrap-option should be set for graphic-objects in text documents

2016-06-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100693

--- Comment #4 from Christoph Lutz  ---
This bug seems to be related to tdf:53992, but is not exactly the same, since
here it is about an formatting / interoperability issue regarding text frames
in LibreOffice and MS Word and the handling of (the graphic-style)
fo:wrap-option.

How to reproduce the issue:
- there's a document test4.odt that was created with LibreOffice and stored to
ODF
- open the attached document test4.odt in LibreOffice (find attached how
test4.odt should be displayed in LibreOffice)
- open the attached document test4.odt in MS Word 2013 (find attached how
test4.odt is currently displayed in MS Word)

You can see, that Word is not able to display the document correctly. The frame
on the right side of the first page is much too large and the text wrapping is
wrong.

This is how the document was created:
- opened a new writer document
- insert->frame
- options set on the frame:
  - unset option for automatic height
  - kept text wrapping "quadratic"
  - choose no border
  - moved the frame to the top right corner of the text area
  - resized it to be about 5cm wide and fill the height of the text area
- add some text (bt) into the text area and into the frame to see how
wrapping works
- saved as ODF

Analysis:

For me it seems that LibreOffice and MS Office behave different regarding the
graphic-style option fo:wrap-option.

By introspecting styles.xml of test4, you can see, that LibreOffice sets
fo:wrap-option='no-wrap' as default graphic format.

The corresponding Textframe-style "fr1" is derived from the graphic style
"Frame" and this style sets style:wrap='parallel' (and more wrapping relevant
options). So if 'Frame's behaviour should enable text wrapping, why is
fo:wrap-option not set to fo:wrap-option='wrap'?

If I add fo:wrap-option='wrap' to the style-definition of 'Frame', the document
IS displayed correctly in MS Word. So obviously both implementations behave
different in when and how fo:wrap-option is interpreted.

According the the ODF 1.2 spec, I cannot find any reason why LibreOffice should
not write fo:wrap-option='wrap' whenever text wrapping should be active. So I
have to argue that even if LibreOffice is able to display the document correct,
It doesn't produce correct ODF according to the spec (regarding
fo:wrap-option). This bug should be fixed in LibreOffice to improve
interoperability with other ODF implementations.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100696] New: UI: Pop-up menu partly hidden by Windows taskbar

2016-06-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 100696
   Summary: UI: Pop-up menu partly hidden by Windows taskbar
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: l...@rn.dk

Created attachment 126005
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=126005=edit
Screen shot showing low-positioned pop-up menu partly covered by Windows 10
taskbar

Using LO version 5.1.3.2 in Windows 10 I regularly have the following problem:

The pop-up menus from right-clicking seem to be oriented by the bottom of the
screen, not the border of the Windows taskbar. This makes the lower options of
the menu inaccessible. An screenshot example is shown in the attachment.

To reproduce: Use Writer on Windows (10?). Write a text containing a word with
many synonyms, e.g. "necessarily". Make sure that this word is close to the
bottom of the screen, and right-click to get pop-up menu. If the list of
synonyms is long enough, it will extend down "behind" the windows taskbar.

Suggested solution: Positioning of the menu should consider the area behind the
taskbar as inaccessible.

The problem may be the "hanging" menu (correct term?), not the pop-up menu
itself. Experiments with very long regular menus, line "File" in Writer, seem
to indicate that the regular menu system is aware that the taskbar area cannot
be used, but "hanging" menus are not necessarily aware of this. Try making the
Writer window as low as possible and choose "Format > Rotate".

The problem is not restricted to Writer or the specific examples, but may be
specific for Windows 10. Opening a photo in Windows 10 also sometimes show the
lowest part of the photo behind the taskbar.
