[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 90120] Editing: Pasting text to Writer from web, e-mail or documents sometimes doesn't work, it's a random beahaviour.

2016-07-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=90120

I can reproduce this issue on 5.1.4.2 on Win7/x64 in LO Calc, trying to paste
from Firefox, Thunderbird, Chrome from HTML source. Paste special sometimes
works, most of the time it is not even on the context menu and unavailable, and
regular paste is gone or greyed out with the only thing showing being Paste
only and it has a single item on the submenu "No selection available", however
I can switch to Notepad or some other app and paste from the clipboard no
problem.

When this occurs, if I save the document, exit Calc, open calc and reload the
document, then right click in the same cell on the spreadsheet, magically Paste
Special and the rest of the options are back again and they work once.

Go back to the web page and highlight new text and try to copy it over again
(or in an HTML email from Thunderbird or similar) and the problem recurs.

Happened to me about 50 times today. Interestingly, pasting the keyboard
buffer to an intermediate non-HTML application such as Windows Notepad, then
reselecting the text in Notepad and pasting it into Calc it usually works.
Going direct from Firefox/Thunderbird/Chrome with HTML source or from something
with RTF source results in missing options on the context menus, or greyed out
features. Once it has happened the app behaves oddly with various other
bugs/glitches until it is restarted also (if it doesn't crash on its own).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99818] EDITING: unformatted paste incorrectly grayed

2016-07-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99818

I'm experiencing this very exact problem in Calc on Windows 7/x64 using version
5.1.4.2 of LibreOffice. It is 100% reproduceable for me.

I have a spreadsheet open, I go to a web page in Firefox 47.0.1 or Thunderbird
HTML email or any other HTML or RTF source and highlight a few words or a
sentence or more, switch back to LibreOffice Calc and right click to
paste-special and remove the formatting. When I do this sometimes it just
works no problem, other times all of the paste options are either missing
entirely from the right click context menu or they're greyed out. If it is
bugging out and anything shows it is "Paste Only" and it says greyed out in the
submenu off of that "". If I then save my document,
exit Calc completely, reopen calc and reload the same document - without
modifying the clipboard, then right click into the same cell, magically all of
the paste options show up again and it works.

At that point I might be able to copy and paste a few more things from
Firefox/Thunderbird etc. and have it work, or it will do it again after a few
more pastes completely at random. Save+exit+restart+reload and right click
fixes it every time.

Like someone mentioned above, I've found via testing that if I paste the text
into Notepad on Windows first, then re-highlight it in Notepad and try to
right-click paste it into Calc it will work fine.

Additionally, when the problem described occurs and all of the paste options
are greyed out and/or non-functional on the context menu and top pulldown menus
- CTRL-V still works even though Paste is greyed out. But by "works" I mean it
pastes rich text into the document and it always has randomly different results
that seem to have no pattern.

In all cases, saving and exiting and reloading solves all of the cut and paste
problems for at least one single paste for sure, and maybe 2-3 if I get lucky.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100906] New: Please show window when giving focus to application

2016-07-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100906

Bug ID: 100906
Summary: Please show window when giving focus to application

  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

Often opening files in Libreoffice doesn't show the window until you click on
the taskbar.

For example, open a .csv file via libreoffice while Calc is already open - it
won't change focus to the instance of libreoffice which is trying to open it.

But Impress also does this under certain situations.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100340] Compress Image dialog too wide

2016-07-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100340

--- Comment #11 from Yousuf (Jay) Philips ---
Thanks for the work Caolan as it looks alot better.

(In reply to Caolán McNamara from comment #10)
> In the export graphic dialog we use the terms "JPEG Compression" and "PNG
> Quality" and in that dialog we have the slider to the left of the spin
> widget so I follow that pattern here.

Can you let me know where this dialog is, as i wasnt able to find it. Using
"PNG Quality" doesnt make sense as it uses lossless compression so the quality
doesnt change.

> Then moved the blocks around to put
> the resolution widgets on the right pane and the text info at the bottom and
> rejigged the "calculate" button. So new dialog is less wide than the
> original dialog.

Looks fine, but now there is a large space above 'Image Information' because of
the Interpolation label and field.

So i've sent in a patch for alternative compression labels, smaller sliders
(this shrinks down the dialog a little more), and adjusting the indent of the
image information labels with the radio buttons in the compression options.

https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/27205

Wasnt able to deal with the spacing above 'Image Information', so i'll leave
that to whomever can do it.

  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

Steps to reproduce:

1. Take LibreOffice Writer document with consistent fonts [but not set as
default], size, spacing, etc.

2. Create table in document

3. Split table in document

4. Now the line between the two tables is in the default, with different size
and spacing from the rest of the document.

It's easy enough to fix the fonts, but I haven't found any way to fix the
spacing, except to undo the split and everything since.

Till 2016-01-18 the behavior was: Changing the color, updated the preview; and
changing a pixel, did not updated the preview. (That was wrong too, but the
other way round.)
Since 2016-01-22 the behavior is: Changing the color, does not update the
preview; but changing a pixel updates the preview.

In LO4.2 it was OK, both updated the preview, changing the color and changing a
pixel as well.

In LO4.3 there had been an issue, that the pattern editor had crashed.

Because it had worked in 4.2, it is an regression.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100902] New: LibreOffice Writer and Bean Ignore and Overwrite Each Other's Page Breaks

  Reporter: erw...@alumni.beloit.edu

Does .odt have consistent handling of page breaks? Going back and forth between
these two word processors, I keep losing my page breaks.

(LibreOffice makes it easier to edit tables. Bean makes it possible to disable
flashing cursors. Because i need to edit tables, and to avoid flashing cursors,
I have to switch back and forth.)

Steps to reproduce:

1. Copy a LibreOffice Writer doc with page breaks.

2. Open in Bean. See if page breaks are still there. If not add page breaks
back in Bean. Save.

3. Open in LibreOffice. See if page breaks are still there. If not add page
breaks back in LibreOffice. Save.

4. Open in Bean. See if page breaks are still there...

I haven't tried this with other word processors, so can't confirm if it is
specific to Bean, which isn't supported any more anyway, or if it is more
widespread.

I'm not sure it's a good summary, feel free to correct it.

When we use font attributes there are two cases :
- the font file with the attribute exists. So the font definition is used.
- the font file with the attribute doesn't exists, so a mathematical
transformation is used to display the font.

A user doesn't know, when using bold for example, if the font definition is
used or if it's a mathematical transforms of the regular font.

The result of bold font is often (always) better than a mathematical transform
to have a bold effect

I think that the user should be informs of what the system does.
of course, the information should be very discrete

Ah, now I managed to get the 2 - 3 - 1 and 2 - 1 - 3 orderings. I get them when
launching with SAL_RTL_ENABLED=1

Note for testers: make a sheet RTL by right clicking its tab and selecting from
context menu.

In my case, this might have been a corrupt ods file. I deleted the tab that was

I can confirm that this still affects LO 5.2.0.2. Even though this is a rather
minor bug, I find it quite annoying.

I have large spreadsheets that uses conditional formatting to warn me about
duplicates over hundreds of rows of serial numbers. Through normal use, I now
have a couple dozen rules that are equivalent to my initial 4.

not overwrite it until I completely removed and reinstalled LO as described.

At least is is now documented; if it happens to someone else, the solution is

This only applies to Windows’ “Classic” visual styles, which have been
explicitly obsoleted since the 2012 release of Windows 8. (The other visual
styles, including the default ones, already have a “smooth” (continuous, rather
that blocky) progress bar, although it doesn’t move like one). Given that we
aren’t going to support XP anymore beginning with the 4.3 series, and that
Vista, with its negligible market share, is now unsupported as well by
Microsoft, the only supported Windows version with this kind of themes is 7.
This is why this request gets the lowest priority, and I don’t think that
anyone should spend time investigating how to recreate the “smooth” effect in
VCL for Classic visual styles.

And poking around, the stand-alone MS FilterPack could be the source of the
indexing filter, and Registry strings, for anyone who didn't have an instance

Do not believe so. I believe that string is associated with MS Office 2010 and
its odffilt.dll, providing search indexing of a few ODF document formats--here
ODT. But also ODS and ODP.

LibreOffice and OpenOffice before use ooofilt.dll or, for running on 64-bit
Windows, OOo implemented ooofilt_x64.dll

And Andras had reworked that part of the Windows builds for better behavior on
64-bit Windows for the LibreOffice 3.5.5/3.6.0 release (see bug 47805)--point
is that string has never come from a LibreOffice install.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99053] Software interpreter: Absolute and relative cell references produce unexpected results when using summation function

2016-07-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=99053

I rechecked the behavior of LibreOffice version 5.1.0.3, confirming that the
reported problem was repeatable. I then installed 5.1.4.2 on my WinXP SP3
machine where the summation problem first appeared. The summation function now
operates correctly. Repeating my earlier tests of the OpenCL and Software
Interpretor settings, I tabulated the following result:

Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice/OpenCL

Allow use of Software Interpreter | 1| 0| 1| 0|
Allow the use of OpenCL | 0| 1| 1| 0|
Error(NG) or No error(OK) |OK|OK|OK|OK|

Again, the summation problem appears to be resolved and fixed. Thanks!

Dear LibreOffice community,

with the latest LibreOffice Impress (5.1.4) and the Orca scree reader I've
tried to access the transition pane with the keyboard but I'm not able to enter
in it.

Steps to reproduce :
1) Open LibreOffice impress
2) Active the transition pane side bar
3) Move your cursor with F6 until you see the focus on "transition"
4) Press tab (two times)

Result : Orca says "check box unchecked"
Expected result : the keyboard caret should be inside the transition pane

Best regards.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100879] Indexing for Windows Search not working on Win10 x64 with LibreOffice x64

2016-07-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100879

Thank you for that; most helpful. I was able to confirm that the registry entry
for {7BC0E710-5703-45BE-A29D-5D46D8B39262} existed and appeared valid but
tracing the indexing entry of "Open document format ODT filter" with a text
search of the registry led to an alternative that appeared invalid - the entry
contained very little other than its name.

Consequently I uninstalled LibreOffice completely and did a text search on the
registry for LibreOffice and deleted everything found. Some of the entries
found referred to previous x86 installations.

I then installed 5.2.0.2 x64.

The indexing option file type entry then became "OpenDocument Format Filter"
and indexing worked immediately; there was no need to have it rebuilt.

The origin of the "Open document format ODT filter" entry is not clear to me.
This is a relatively new build machine with a clean install of Win10, Office
2010 x64 and LibreOffice 5.x, originally x86 and then x64 although the move
from x86 to x64 was done as an upgrade, not with complete removal of the x86
installation which clearly was not removed entirely with residual registry
entries. Could the "Open document format ODT filter" have come from the prior
x86 installations?

Timur, thank you for setting the correct bug-status and explaining the
difference between NEW and REOPEN.

I would suggest to leave the bug open even if it is currently not reproducible
for the reason that at least on my system the only evidence of the bug is the
event log entry. Therefore it is very likely that other users are also affected
by the crash but without noticing it.

I still have several older ODT-documents on my HDD so I will be able to do some
testing trying to reproduce the crash as soon as I find the time.

Both times LO crashed on exiting on my PC I had done the following actions
before:
1. run LO
2. open ODT-document
3. print ODT-document (setting document status to altered)
4. save ODT-document
5. exit LO (using the red X in the upper right corner of the window, however, I
cannot remember if I closed the document separately before exiting LO)

Is there a particular gnome 3 application that i can see this implementation of
right label alignment with headers. When looking at the example mockup given on
the visual layout (
https://developer.gnome.org/hig/stable/figures/visual-alignment-correct.svg ),
it didnt have the header in it, but when looking at its implementation, they
right aligned the header, which does make it look good.

Here you can see display is Intel and driver for display 0 is i915.
I next looked at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/xenial/+package/xserver-xorg-video-intel to
confirm this driver supports i915, which indeed it does, so then I installed
this driver:
 sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-intel

I then had to reboot for change to take effect.
Now I have a border around active cell!

4. on Alignment tab, select the "Wrap text automatically" checkbox

Do values entered in the first column now wrap as desired?

1. new Calc spreadsheet
2. select all cells on sheet (top left cell - column/row)
3. Format -> Cells to open dialog
4. Alignment tab
5. Properties select Wrap text automatically

Expected
All cells with text or numerical values will wrap as length of values exceed
width of cell

Result
All cells with text or numerical values wrap as length of values exceed width

For OP, is there some other formatting applied to the sheet (or first column)
prior to setting the global for cells to wrap?

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: machiel.van.v...@milieudefensie.nl

Steps:

1) Populate the recent documents list with 10+ documents on a cifs share.
2) Open 5+ documents.
3) Libreoffice hangs during typing and when opening any menu.

Version: 5.1.4.2
Build ID: 1:5.1.4-0ubuntu1~trusty1
CPU Threads 1; OS Version Linux 3.13:UI Render: default
Locale: nl-NL (en_US.UTF-8)

The file server hosting the documents has decent performance but can take a
second to respond if it is very busy. The performance issues are resolved when
either the Recent Documents list is cleared of the menu item is deleted. The
difference in overall performance is like night and day.

I do expect the first time load of the listing of recent documents to take a
few seconds. Not the impact on overall performance it has now which I think is
unintended.

The index filter listed for ODF (Control Panel -> Indexing Options -> Advanced

On save to Desktop (i.e. to an indexed location) the test document is
immediately indexed, and a search for Rhubarb picks it up.

Works as intended. Please check you Windows registry and your installation,
and verify your indexing options. Reported filter of "Open document format ODT

In the export graphic dialog we use the terms "JPEG Compression" and "PNG
Quality" and in that dialog we have the slider to the left of the spin widget
so I follow that pattern here. Then moved the blocks around to put the
resolution widgets on the right pane and the text info at the bottom and
rejigged the "calculate" button. So new dialog is less wide than the original
dialog.

Volko, Reopen is where fix doesn't work. This one is simple New because it's
confirmed. But, I don't know whether it should stay open if it's not
reproducible, and whether backtrace is of any use.
Caolán, please add appropriate crash signature.

Three attachments
1: Start state
2: after insertion of a page, pictures are still on pages 1 and 2 of the
document.
3: As suggested: An empty page is entered between the two pages. The pictures
now are on pages 1 and 3. This feature would be helpful when adding extensions
in the final phase of a project. It is similarly implemented in Adobe InDesign.
I see it as an additional feature not as an substitute for the existing one.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 99104] Left or right aligned labels

Options for alignment

Option 1: Labels above controls, both left aligned (suited for two columns,
which we use in dialogs, but visually noisy; no problems with lengthy
localizations)
Option 2: Labels left-aligned to the dialog (works still with two columns; best
suited for reading the captions)
Option 3: Controls left-aligned placed where the longest caption ends (cleanest
UI, issues with two columns possible that may be solved by introducing scroll
areas)

Is this fair enough to run a survey? Any other arrangement possible?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100893] New: Button Form of "Target in Document" Hyperlink Opens Browser in PDF instead Going to Other Page

2016-07-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100893

Bug ID: 100893
Summary: Button Form of "Target in Document" Hyperlink Opens
Browser in PDF instead Going to Other Page
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: vsio_...@yahoo.com.au

Short version, the hyperlink object opened browser instead of going to other
page.

Long version, object (i.e. text area and image) which was inserted with
hyperlink on Document category with "Target in Document" as "Form" button, when
clicked in PDF, it opened a browser instead of going to other page.

The PDF was viewed with Foxit Reader and Chrome PDF Reader, however the results
were same.

This didn't happen for Text form.

How to Reproduce:
1. Create an object (i.e. text area or image)
2. Click to select it
3. Insert -> Hyperlink...
4. Choose Document category
5. On "Target in Document", choose the round button on the right and choose a
slide
6. On "Further Settings", if Form is not "Button", then change it to "Button"
7. Click OK
8. Export as PDF
9. Export
10. Open the PDF file
11. Click the object which was added with hyperlink. The browser will be opened
instead of going to other page.

4. On "Target" choose a slide, then click OK
5. File -> Export as PDF...
6. Export
7. Open the PDF File
8. Try to click the object (which was added with Interaction)
