Running in Windows 10 64 bit I insert a date using the fixed date field using
the full day, month, date, year it inserts the date, but when I open the
document a week later it shows that date rather then the original date. ie:
Date when inserted - Sunday, July 3, 2016.
Date when opened one week later - Sunday, July 10, 2016
This document is saved twice in .DOC and .ODT formats. It happens in both
documents.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

Actual Results:  
The date of the current date is inserted in this case Sunday, July, 3, 2016.  

Expected Results:  
It should have remained Sunday, July 3, 2016, when I opened the document a week
(7 days) later.  Instead the date read Sunday, July 10, 2016.

This issue has come up a couple of times, it's most likely the update caused
some kind of mixup with the languages, unfortunately it seems to be very
erratic, and no one has managed to reproduce this on purpose.
As a workaround a reinstall is supposed to fix the languages.

i tested with different versions and recieved different result. 
i tested with version 4.3.5.2. 
after 30 minutes, it opened for me properly without crash. 
in 4.4.6.3 i tested this document. 
after 30 minutes (if i am correct about its minutes)!
it opened for me, but when i wanted to navigate in its pages and read its
content, after two minutes, 
due to an unexpected error, libreoffice crashed and wanted to recover my file. 
with testing with both version 5.0.6.3 and 5.1.4.2 after 10 or 15 minutes,
libreoffice crashed with this error SeH exception access violation. 
so i think its a regression in 4.4 branch, not 5.0.6.3!

Do you have Cortana enabled? If you do, can you give it a try after disabling
it? Saw quite some people having performance issues with Cortana+Excel, and
while the symptoms don't fit completely, it could be worth a try.

Regarding the question you asked earlier about soffice.bin and .exe. There's a
single LibreOffice application, soffice.bin.
soffice.exe, and a few other similar executables like swriter.exe or scalc.exe
are only used to launch this main application so Writer/Calc/etc. comes up.
It's normal to have both in task manager.

its a very critical bug for me, because all of my documents are in .docx
format.

Well this is interesting.  I left my computer for a couple hours with a
libreoffice calc window sitting frozen.  I cam back to it and my document was
opened.  So I closed it and tried to open it again and it was frozen again.  
So I left it and watched it, it eventually opens the document after sitting
frozen for about 7 minutes.
After waiting 7 minutes I can do anything to the document.  I guess for now I
will have to just wait that long to edit my documents.  
And no my computer is not that slow, it usually opens the documents in about a
second.  It is the same result on both my desktop and laptop, wait 7 minutes
and it opens.

Very strange.
I went to a mint 17.3 laptop and tried the same with libreoffice calc 5.0.4.2
and 5.0.3.2 and both are not able to import external CSV data from
http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SVU13_7.2.1/com.ibm.ismsaas.doc/reference/CIsImportMinimumSample.csv?view=kc
(example)

Either I did something completely different in the past to make it work or
something else has changed among different versions of linux mint.

If the latter, I suspect 'nemo' file manager.

File created with LO and manually fixed by adding customWidth="1"

I have added customWidth="1" to example file and everything is working
perfectly fine.
Unfortunately there is still missing defaultColWidth field.

I will try to resolve that issue soon.

Do you have OpenCL enabled in LibreOffice settings?

OpenCL is used with Calc and in some cases the cause for problems is a bad

way that preserves the problematic behavior and attach it to the report.

Ok, so the "defective" appearance is simply the Breeze theme while you normally
have Sifr.

Could you update to version 5.1.4 and see, if the problem still occurs?

stack trace of crash while scrolling within large CTL document

On Windows 10 Pro 64-bit en-US with an /A admin install of
Version: 5.0.6.3 (x64)
Build ID: 490fc03b25318460cfc54456516ea2519c11d1aa
Locale: en-US (en_US)

Note the slow loading as well, never a good thing.

But once open, while paging the document I do get a hang at

flowfrm.cxx @ 231

But, as 5.0.6 is EOL -- nothing will be done here. Attaching stack trace to
compare against 5.1, 5.2 or master if issue should be found there as well.

This might be due to a problematic OpenCL driver.
Please try after disabling OpenCL first:

In the next version, problematic drivers are taken into account.

If the original problem went away by disabling OpenCL, then the culprit was a
problematic OpenCL driver (not a LibreOffice bug). The next version will be
more careful about disabling OpenCL, if the driver is broken.

I suggest you create a new bug report with your example file. Closing.

Why did you use sudo make?

I got the information from IRC that a ramdisk is untested for what you are
doing.

Did you solve the problem meanwhile?

(Everything tested again with 5.2.0.0 RC2)
The error did not occur in a test when the simple file was saved in xls
(1997-2003) or in xlsx (2003-2013). 
Reloading such an alien file and saving it again in native ods produced file
correctly containing the double border!
The original bug did not show as soon as the border width (for the double
line!) was set to a minimum of 1.25 point (default setting was 0.75 point). 
The cycle of creating an example, saving it in xlsx, reloading it, saving it in
ods again, an reloading it another time leads to the changed border width of
1.75 pint.

its a document in persian and arabic that causes libreoffice with the error seh
exception access violation

hi. 
today i recieved a .doc file. 
i converted it in to .docx with microsoft office to reduce the size. 
when i want to open the converted .docx file, libreoffice after 30 or 40
minutes crashes with fatal error Seh exception access violation. 
my document has more than 2000 pages. 
i tested it in libreoffice version 5.0.6.3 today and i am not shure about the
first and the exact version that this problem occured first. 
i use windows xp service pack3 and my locale is fa-ir fa_ir
thanks so much for solving my previous bug and i appreciate you if solve it in
5.1 branch.

The error must occur when the file is saved. Saving a (nearly empty) .ods
containing a double bordered range with LibO and reopening it with AOO 4.1.2
leads to the same result: Border missing.

1. Open the attached .odp and click on the line which says "Try to demote".
2. Click on the demote button (which is not greyed out).

no repro steps, no test file, no bug description → invalid.

while what you write sounds really frustrating, with that little info, there is
nothing devs can do to improve the situation.

I just created an impress file on OS X 10.11.5 with LO 5.1.4.2 and a few jpg
files where saved as expected.

feel free to file a new proper bug with as many details as possible so your
problem can really be addressed.

Confirming this. tested with LO master

* save file with various column widths als xlsx file
* open with excel

Issue a) ✔
→ width settings are gone when opened with excel
→ when opened xlsx file with LO column width is correctly opened

Issue b) ✔
when opened with excel, window cannot be moved around. really odd.

It seems to work fine, yes.



I understand that when the option is enabled, and the driver not working, then
calc must be restarted.

Unfortunately it just closes.

This is really bad user experience.

The option was on after installation.
So when I first started calc, I saw the flash screen, and then it disappeared
and nothing.

I had to start it a 2nd time myself.

So there either is no restart, or the restart crashes.


IMHO it should restart itself. Or it should display a dialog, that explains you
have to start it again.

The way it currently is, if it just disappears, it looks like the install is
broken.

I set it back to unconfirmed, because I think the fix should be improved as
described.
(I confirm however that the initial described crash is fixed)

I have just noticed that this language inconsitency happens in several menus,
not just in sheet menu in calc. Other application e.g. Writer and Impress do
not seem to be affected.

language inconsistency in sheet menu using slovak localization

Hello, 
After LO update from 5.0.* to 5.1.4.2 I noticed, that some menu items in LO
calc sheet menu are not in slovak language, but in russian, so it creates
inconsistent user experience. I am also enclosing screenshot.

Language:Slovak
LO: 5.1.4.2 win x64

I get the linked data, but it takes long until the data arrived and I get the
import dialog.

The current behavior leaves the user in a state, where he does not know, what
to do, because the user sees a date in the Value field, which looks right for
him and no other action than Cancel dialog will work.

Currently you have to clear the Value field _before_ you change the Type field.
That is not intuitive.
