[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105039] New: "Analyze SQL command" help should probably refer to " Filter" and "Sort" form properties, rather than "Content list box" property.

2017-01-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Bug ID: 105039
Summary: "Analyze SQL command" help should probably refer to
"Filter" and "Sort" form properties, rather than
"Content list box" property.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.3.3 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)

Screen shot of help in question

Hi guys,

The F1 help returned for the "Analyze SQL command" Form Properties input,
refers to "Content list box", but I think it should probably refer to "Filter"
and to "Sort" instead.

* Here is the help in question returned to me:

"Analyze SQL command

Specifies whether the SQL statement is to be analyzed by LibreOffice. If set to
Yes, you can click the ... button next to the Content list box. This will open
a window where you can graphically create a database query. When you close that
window, the SQL statement for the created query will be inserted in the Content
list box."

* I don't see a "Content list box" field in the Form Properties, at least not
at the form I'm looking at, which is the LO sample database:
Media_without_Macros.odb.

* I'm using the "LibreOffice Built in help in English" help installed from
http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/5.1.6/deb/x86_64/LibreOffice_5.1.6_Linux_x86-64_deb_helppack_en-US.tar.gz

* To get this help to display, I'm either hitting the F1 key, or clicking Menu
| Help | LibreOffice Help.

* Note: When I change Analyze SQL command from Yes to No, the Filter and Sort
inputs are then grayed out, and later un-grayed, when I return this input to
Yes.

Thanks for the documentation.

Description:
for continuous value affect formatting:
support for cell values affecting the sRGB or linearSRGB-709/XYZ..
and affecting possibility also font weight, opacity,

for more discrete, font-family, pattern,

via not only based of that cell's values but also relative/absolute mixed
references,
!!same even for graphs, the option for individual data points' various
formatting settings and lines also (maybe since #=n-1 maybe, index of line
based on previous point)

so can use formulas to directly control but fine and coarse basis, and ability
to change precendence, e.g. series formatting, indivdual data points, axis,
graph; cell, row, column, whole area, and maybe if row and column intersect
make the combo also possibly a combination of both previous settings
(node-based UI and coding?)

I followed the instructions at https://www.libreoffice.org/download/flatpak/ to
install LibreOffice a while ago. Today I ran `flatpak update --user
org.libreoffice.LibreOffice` and it updated me to 5.2.3.3, great. But you're
currently offering the later LibreOffice 5.2.4-something program for download.

It would be great if the flatpak was rebuilt for each release; also, if there's
a particular build that developers want users to run when reproducing a bug it
would help to provide that as a flatpak. I'm sure freenode #flatpak on IRC
would be happy to help.

File > Open.
3. Happens with version 5.2.4.2 in Win10 and version 5.1.4.2 in Linux Mint.
4. Can be opened with Excel (2010).

Steps to Reproduce:

Working in debian-stretch with daily Linux dbgutil bibisect repository
version 2017-01-01, in a new worksheet, I observe ...

In Calc, I selected cells B2:C3 and applied a 5-point border
around the group.

The program displays the visible border centered over the implicit
border around the group, i.e., half inside B2:C3 and half in the
horizontally and vertically surrounding cells, i.e., B1:C1, D2:D3,
B4:C4, A2:A3.

The program does not display the part of the visible border which
would fall in the cornerwise adjacent cells, i.e. A1, D1, D4, A4.

However, in .pdf export, ...

  - if the surrounding cells have no border specified, then the
border around B2:C3 is complete, even showing "mitred"
corners.

  - if the surrounding cells have border specified, then the
border around B2:C3 is rendered as on the screen.

I agree that the handling of cornerwise adjacent cells is strange,
especially as pdf output differs from the screen rendering. However,
I am leaving status UNCONFIRMED, as I am not sure what the correct
behaviour would be.

After trying to reproduce this I noticed this problem was only present on a
couple of my files and what they shared in common were the styles being used.

After some further investigation I found that if I edited the default style and
looked under the font effects tab, the font color was set to User, with a black
color selected. I don't recall setting this option myself and after switching
it back to Default the normal display behavior returns due to all other styles
inheriting from the default one.

I assume I must have set this somehow while fiddling with various options. I
think this can be safely marked as not a bug.

I did not manage to reproduce the crash. Turning OpenGL on gave weird

With weird behaviour I mean black dialogue boxes, menu lists black and garbled

Upon opening more drawings (3 open at same time) the VM crashed.
I'm attaching opengl_device.log, screenshots of drawing problem and workstation

I'm not sure to have understood, do you reproduce the crash with OpenGL
disabled or enabled?
If reproduced with OpenGL enabled, "locate /cache/opengl_device.log, and attach it to the bug report" as the link
quoted in my previous comment indicates.
If reproduced with OpenGL disabled, I must recognize I don't know what to think
then since your bt clearly shows methods related to OpenGL.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105015] Crash in: ImplReleaseTempFonts(SalData &)

2017-01-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105015

I’m trying to identify the possible issue here since I can’t reproduce this
crash locally. It is probably caused by the fix for bug 103514, but we need a
way to reproduce the crash to be able to debug and eventually fix it.

Sorry I wanted to know if you have install pb with other softwares.
It could be interesting you disable the plugins you quoted and download again
LO dmg just for the test.
You may also try with Safari.

To be sure, you retrieved the exact file as it should, you can check with
http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/5.2.4/mac/x86_64/LibreOffice_5.2.4_MacOS_x86-64.dmg.mirrorlist
(MD5, SHA-1 or SHA-256)
For MD5 for example, this link
http://news.softpedia.com/news/How-to-Check-MD5-Sum-on-Mac-OS-X-431080.shtml
explains how to do this.

However, in 3.6.7.2 I did not have to do this. It worked right away.

It worked until i got the update, replaced the old with the new version. The
only update recently is Adobe flash player. I did open the dmg from the

I use Firefox as a browser with add-ons: "https everywhere", "Disconnect" and
"Adblockplus". I could disable these and when i can get back to somewhere with
the bandwidth, try downloading the dmg again. The odd thing was that i had an
old dmg of version 5.0.0 and the same verification failure with subsequent
operation problem occurred.

How does it scale down to 32px? Looks pretty nice but I'm afraid that the
decorations (arrow, clock, star) are to tiny. And finally it's perhaps not easy
to understand when the completion identifier is a big arrow (looks like
download). Anyway, very tangoish :-)

Never installed any additional fonts except ones that come bundled with LO or

Not changed any font related settings in Windows that I am aware off.

Not installed any font management software

Older versions of LO have been reinstalled and work with no error at all.

File with conditional section

It works ok in 3.5.0 (good news), broken already in 3.6.7.2.

Steps:
1. Open attached document
2. While in the empty paragraph before the section, Insert - Field - More
Fields (or Fields - Other in older versions)
3. Variables tab, User field with Format: Standard, Name: Test, Value: 2.
Insert.

Correct result: section disappears
Incorrect result: section does not disappear. Go to Format - Sections and see
the changed condition.

Tested with:

Annotation for rest, Ctrl-A plus Ctrl-M, save and reopen and styles are there,
so looks as a corner case.

Thanks for prompt reply and happy new year!

Starting LO showed Standard Render. Setting render to OpenGL and restarting LO
gave me weird behaviour in the program, but no crash.

I removed the user profile, and I got a behaviour similar to when I had the
crash. Help->About box was black, but managed to see the text by highlighting
the text and then it reviled that render was OpenGL.

Could it be that the crash sat the render to standard?

Thank you Telesto for the bt.
I noticed this method OleComponent::GetVerbList on your bt (see
http://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/embeddedobj/source/msole/olecomponent.cxx#1012)
so could be Windows only bug.
I'm not sure but it seems m_pNativeImpl->m_pOleObject could be not initialized.
Indeed, we don't call InitializeObject_Impl method which initializes it.
If this is the case, either we should explicitely call it or we should call a
method which itself calls it (hope it's clear enough :-))

Do you build yourself from sources? If yes you may add some debug traces in
this method to know precisely where it crashed.
Anyway, let's put this one to NEW since there's a bt.

Mike: I don't know any official OLE expert in LO. But noticing this commit

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105033] New: impossible to set transparent background to a set of table cells painted with different color backgrounds

2017-01-01 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105033

Bug ID: 105033
Summary: impossible to set transparent background to a set of
table cells painted with different color backgrounds
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.2.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gabriele.bertolu...@gmail.com

Description:
I opened an ODT file which contains a table. Many cells have a colored
background (the colors are multiple), others have transparent background. 1) If
I select simultaneously two different colored cells (or a colored one and
transparent one) and I try to set them to a transparent background, this
command is not successful: nothing happens, no error messages. 2) If I select
simultaneously two cells with the same color and I try to set them to a
transparent background, it works correctly. 3) If I select simultaneously two
different colored cells or two same colored cells and I try to set them to the
same background color (no matter if it's one of the colors of the two selected
cells or a third color), it works correctly.

Steps to Reproduce:
The steps are detailed in the bug description.

Actual Results:
The result is detailed in the bug description (point 1).

Expected Results:
For point 1, I expected the cells where all set to a transparent background.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I tried LibreOffice in Windows 10 Pro, version 1607 (build 14393.576).

If it's recent, did you change anything in software (MacOs upgrade, install

Do you reproduce for other softwares (eg: Firefox)?

Much common statistical software uses the name `mean` rather than `average` for
the function that returns a arithmetic mean of a collection of numbers (eg,
STATA, R, Mathematica). To make using LibreOffice Calc easier for users of
other statistical software, I propose adding an alias `mean` for the `average`

There is UX bug on Minimize Presentation.

1. Information showing only for presentations with >1 images. If you have only
1 image you don't see this.

This Seems to happen with the default settings as well. If the OS is important
for tracing the bug, The OS is Windows 10 Home x64 running x86 Libreoffice.

Yes, stop test in on random files.

Simple test:
1. New presentation
2. Insert some image
3. Add new page
4. Copy Image from 1st page to 2nd.
5. Save. Now in .odp you have 1 image file for both presentation's pages. It's
good.
6. Open file again. Minimize. Check mini file. You have two images. Compressed
for image on 1st page and untouched for image on 2nd page.

Thumbnails in folder "Thubnails/", but my grepping for "Pictures/" ;)
You may get minimized file from my example. On first page right click on image
and select "Edit with External tool". It will see jpeg file, not png.

Maxim: looking at your grepping result, were you expecting the PNG to be turned
into a JPEG? Now it seems to have created a JPEG just for a thumbnail or
something and not removed the PNG.

This crash came when I wanted to investigate some serious slowness editing
drawings in Ubuntu, so I installed Libre Office in a virtual Windows machine.
Opening two drawings (attached) and clicket one element in one of the drawing
and LO crashed.

Starting LO and reopening those drawings did not crash program again.

There is some kind of a problem with FORMATTING:

when I am trying to change the style of middle horizontal line at continuous
group of adjacent horizontal cells (using Format > Cells > Borders > Line
style) from solid to dotted line somehow I have to do this twice to apply
changes.

Is it possible to eliminate such inconvenience?

I would like to report maybe not a bug but using inconvenience of UI:

when I have opened multipaged spreadsheet (ODF) title of one sheet is bolded in
a tab. This means that sheet is selected and ready to be edited, including
using keyboard. Nevertheless I have to select tab of this sheet once again to
be able to move between cells of this sheet by cursor keys or, for sample,
insert rows using keyboard shortcuts.

Is it possible to eliminate such inconvenience?

Hi.

Create some cells. Now select them and make visible only the outlines. Now
increase the thickness of the outlines to the max. What you will see is that
the corners don't get perfect. In fact, they disappear!
