Still unusable in 5.3beta2. I'm glad you had the instructions written clearly
or I wouldn't have been able to figure out how to add it, and a disabled
"insert" button doesn't help... Wouldn't insert mean add the autotext I just
created into the existing list?

In light of all of the changes in the UI (try out MUFFIN in 5.3, and styles in
the docking bar has become standard), there is a lot of flexibility now for
different preferences. This needs to be re-evaluated. I think you should be
using the docked area as Sasha suggested.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105427] : trendline formula wrong for second degree polynomial approximation

2017-01-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105427

sorry sirs, the question is not "more suitable"

- no matter if chosen "curve" or "line" chart the resulting formula is wrong!

- mathematical background: to approximate 3 given x/y points the resulting
formula with second square polynom finds all these given points exactly!!!

- the correct resulting formula for the 3 points (-2/4) (0/0) (2/4) would be
y(x)=x²

- the wrong trendline formula found by calc is: y(x) = 4x²-16x+16
- try with (0/0); does y(x)=4x²-16x+16 hit (0/0)? No!
- does y(x)=x² hit (0/0) Yes!

This bug is serious and I would appreciate if you try see the math behind it
and check then what you get from cal

Thanks lot!

Tested with LibO 5.3 beta2 and steps to reproduce in comment 0 are still valid
to reproduce the issue.

Of course, selecting all three, turning off numbering and turning it back on
"fixes" the issue. Very little incentive (low priority) to touch this and risk
all kinds of problems, and nobody else included in the CC list after many
years.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105445] New: PDF Export ignores "Export comments" checkbox

2017-01-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105445

Bug ID: 105445
Summary: PDF Export ignores "Export comments" checkbox
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.1.6.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: benne...@gmail.com

Description:
When a spreadsheet has comments on cells and I try to export a PDF, deselecting
the "Export comments" checkbox does not hide the comment in the exported PDF.

If I check the box, I also get an icon indicating a PDF annotation/comment,
which can be viewed through my PDF viewer software; I suppose this is the
expected behavior (aside from the fact that the comment is also rendered as
above). What I'm trying to say is that the checkbox appears to work correctly
as far as telling the PDF viewer to show an actual comment as a true
annotation/comment, but some other aspect of the code is actually rendering the
comment in the PDF exactly as it appears in the Calc document.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Insert a comment to a cell
2. Make sure the comment is visible in the spreadsheet by selecting Show
comment if necessary
3. Go to File->Export as PDF
4. Make sure "Export comments" is deselected
5. View the PDF

Actual Results:
The PDF shows the comment as part of the PDF file

Expected Results:
The comment should not be shown

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Tested with 5.1.6.2, 5.2.2.2, and 5.2.4.2 - all on Mac OS
Tested with 5.1.6.2 on Windows
Viewed with FoxIt, Mac Preview, and Adobe Reader

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 103617] Add custom shapes line and arrow that can becoming an arc

2017-01-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103617

Dear Regina Henschel,

I am very excited about the work you have done. A real good job.
I apologize for my English, I got help from google translator and surely you
see.

I ask you if it is possible only get the arrow, without the rectangle around.
Like a connector, but without connecting anything.
I need these arrows for sporting diagrams, arrows represent the trajectory of
the ball or the movement of the players.

Also I need an arrow with the wavy line style that I can move lengthen and
shorten as a normal arrow with the style of a straight line, like the one I
reported in the attached file.

I think you're a very nice person. I live in Italy, in Tuscany and I would be
very happy to host you at my house if you like.

If you did not understand well, I can attach a video explaining the arrow I
need. Thanks thanks thanks

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105444] New: extra lines inserted at end of Comments

2017-01-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105444

Bug ID: 105444
Summary: extra lines inserted at end of Comments
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: pcun...@msn.com

Writer adds an extra (and eventually, multiple extra) lines at the end of
Comments. I know this is a problem when saving in Microsoft Word format (Save
As -> Microsoft Word 2007-2013 XML (.docx)).
To reproduce:
1. Insert a Comment (Ctrl + Alt + C)
2. Type text
3. Save as MS Word XML
4. Close file
5. Open file and observe a new line after the text typed in the Comment box

Sometimes there are three or four extra lines at the end (from multiple Save ->
Close -> Open cycles?). This becomes a problem when there are multiple Comments
on one page and they get scrunched to accommodate them in the available space.
If extra lines were not added, some scrunching would not be necessary.

As a reference,
after Wine (https://winehq.org) installs 'LibreOffice_5.3.0.2_Win_x86.msi',
"Find & Replace" UI config file is parked here:
~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/LibreOffice\
5/share/config/soffice.cfg/svx/ui/findreplacedialog.ui
linked as:
~/.wine/dosdevices/c\:/Program\ Files/LibreOffice\
5/share/config/soffice.cfg/svx/ui/findreplacedialog.ui

Heiko, you can test patch yourself, without compiling an entire libreoffice,
just (re)start it after changing 'findreplacedialog.ui'.

Looks the same problem than in tdf#103230, empty cells from linked files are
not interpreted the same than those on the same file.

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 103230 ***

I also confirm this on 5.3.0rc2. It is important to note that this crash can
also result on INFORMATION LOSS:

1- Open a new document and insert a table with some data on it
2- Apply a table style to that table
3- Now right click on the style used → Modify

As commented, Writer crash. When you open it again it starts the "file
recovery" menu as expected, BUT the recovered document is completely EMPTY.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105442] New: LibreOffice Application links pinned to Windows 10 Taskbar defective after LO updates , Links and Jumplists get lost

2017-01-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105442

Bug ID: 105442
Summary: LibreOffice Application links pinned to Windows 10
Taskbar defective after LO updates, Links and
Jumplists get lost
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: t.b.mailingli...@igeno-fat.de

Last affected Version to date: 5.2.4
In Windows 10 x64 (same with Windows 8/8.1) if I pin Writer/Calc/etc. to the
Windows Taskbar the pinned icon collects last opened files as Jumplists.
The users at my place are used to use these Jumplists with LibreOffice and
other programs frequently.
After an Update of LibreOffice, the former colered icons of Writer/Calc/etc.
appear as white boxes in the taskbar. If you click on them, Windows reports
that these links (= pinned icons) are not valid anymore and wants to remove
them.
After removing and manually re-pinning the apllication icons to the taskbar,
the Jumplists are empty.

The users at my place cry everytime what happened. So I have to consult
everyone before every update because E-Mail Information is not enough because
they often overlook these infos. I know there are 'last opend files' within the
LO Menu, but the users always want to use the Jumplists.

Expected behaviour:
After minor updates AND major upgrades the pinned icons in Taskbar and
Startmenu tiles should remain at their configured places. And the Jumplists
with their contents in 'All Programs Startmenu', 'Startmenu Tiles' and
'Taskbar' should stay retained.

Are you using a *line chart* ?
See the LibreOffice Help :

https://help.libreoffice.org/Chart/Trend_Lines
"If you insert a trend line to a chart type that uses categories, like Line or
Column, then the numbers 1, 2, 3, … are used as x-values to calculate the trend
line. For such charts the XY chart type might be more suitable."

You must use X/Y chart for this purpose.

Just confirmed that this bug still exists in 5.3.0RC2.

1. Open document.
2. Open Styles and Formatting tab on the sidebar.
3. Click on the 'Table Styles' icon to bring up the 'Table Styles' tab.
4. Right click on any style and in the context menu click either 'New' or
'Modify'.

At this point a dialog pops up. It is titled: 'LibreOffice 5.3 - Fatal Error'.
It contains the following error message:
'file:///home/timothy/Downloads/opt/LibreOffice_5.3.0.2_Linux_x86-64_deb/DEBS/install/opt/libreoffice5.3/program/../share/config/soffice.cfg/modules/swriter/ui/templatedialog32.ui'.

When the user clicks okay, LibreOffice immediately exits.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105441] New: styles don't resize shape with "resize shape to fit text "

2017-01-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105441

Bug ID: 105441
Summary: styles don't resize shape with "resize shape to fit
text"
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.0.1 rc
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: chare...@gmail.com

I actually tested this with version 5.3.0.2 [1].

[1]:
http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/rpm/x86_64/LibreOffice_5.3.0.2_Linux_x86-64_rpm.tar.gz

Bug #93135 fixed the "resize shape to fit text" property as it pertains to the
**Format > Text...** menu item. However, when enabling the same property on a
style, the size of the shape remains unaffected under two scenarios:

1. when "resize shape to fit text" is enabled in the style and then applied to
the shape, and

2. when the style is applied to the shape and then "resize shape to fit text"
is enabled in the style.

The fubar nature of styles becomes more apparent when working with files saved
in libreoffice 5.2.x, so I'm restricting the steps for reproduction to new
files only. A patch against the steps provided may not affect Draw documents
created prior to the patch, and users may need to start a new document.

=== Steps to Reproduce (enable resize then apply style)

1. Open LibreOffice Draw
2. Start with a new document.
3. Draw a square on the page.
4. Add text to the square, e.g. "Hello world".
5. Open "Styles and Formatting" sidebar.
6. Right click on "Default" style and create New style named "Test".
7. In Style Editor, select "Text" tab, then...
  a) Enable "Resize shape to fit text"
  b) Enable "Fit width to text"
  c) Click "OK"
8. In "Styles and Formatting" sidebar...
  a) Select "Test" style
  b) Click the "Apply" bucket icon at the top (selecting this tool appears
to be broken, you may have to select a shape on the page before you
 can use the tool).
9. Click on the square on the page to apply the "Test" style to the square.
10. Observe that the shape does not resize around the text:
  a) immediately after applying the text, or
  b) after editing the text, or
  c) after resizing the shape manually.

=== Steps to Reproduce (apply style then enable resize)

1. Open LibreOffice Draw
2. Start with a new document.
3. Draw a square on the page.
4. Add text to the square, e.g. "Hello world".
5. Open "Styles and Formatting" sidebar.
6. Right click on "Default" style and create New style named "Test", and
close the Style Editor Dialog.
7. In "Styles and Formatting" sidebar...
  a) Select "Test" style
  b) Click the "Apply" bucket icon at the top (selecting this tool appears
to be broken, you may have to select a shape on the page before you
 can use the tool).
8. Click on the square on the page to apply the "Test" style to the square.
9. Right click the "Test" style in the "Styles and Formatting" sidebar and
select "Modify..." to open Style Editor Dialog.
10. In Style Editor Dialog, select the "Text" tab, then...
  a) Enable "Resize shape to fit text"
  b) Enable "Fit width to text"
  c) Click "OK"
11. Observe that the shape does not resize around the text:
  a) immediately after saving the style, or
  b) after editing the text, or
  c) after resizing the shape manually.

=== About Info

Version: 5.3.0.2
Build ID: 5ad7b2889021c491af62f7930a4b1cb631392f16
CPU Threads: 8;
OS Version: Linux 4.8;
UI Render: default;
VCL: gtk2;
Layout Engine: new;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8);
Calc: group

=== Additional notes

- In some tests, I noticed that applying the "Test" style after enabling
"resize shape to fit text" might update the height of the shape, but
not the width, though I could not identify any steps from scratch that
  reproduced this
  behavior.

Bug ID: 105440

   Version: 5.1.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: seluj...@gmail.com

Everything is fine when searching for a keyword, and matches will be
higlighted. Once a result has been highlighted however, the search
functionality breaks and keeps re-highlighting the last matched word even
though another word has been queried.

How to reproduce:
* open a pptx presentation
* search for a term that is in the presentation
* search for another term that should also be in the presentation
-> the previous match(different word) will be highlighted again

(perhaps this been fixed already in a more upstream version but could not
install a newer version as easy to test that.)
System used:
Ubuntu 16.04 64bit
version of impress: 1:5.1.4-0ubuntu1

Sorry, I don't understand your explanation.

Of course I also included column A data in both sorts, otherwise the
relationship with the other data in the row is scrambled. My apologies for not
including this in the steps to reproduce the problem, I thought it was obvious.

Highlight all data in both columns A and B, then sort on column B, and the
sorts are very different when doing it from the Management sheet using VLOOKUP.

So, please provide documentation or at least an explanation on why the use of
VLOOKUP causes the blank cells to NOT be treated as zero, as they are in the
Source sheet, or confirm this as a bug.

Thanks

2017-01-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105439

Bug ID: 105439
Summary: Around 2-5 second delay when right clicking when
launching for the first time after a system reboot
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.2.2.1 rc
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: tele...@surfxs.nl

Description:
There seems to be a 2-4 second delay before the right click menu appears if
LibO is started for the first time after a system reboot (or logout, didn't
test). There is no right click delay when closing and re-launching the same
version in the same session.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Launch Writer after booting the system (didn't test logging out login in)
2. Wait till Writer fully launched
3. Right click on the document; delay..

Actual Results:
There is a (2-5 sec) delay when opening the right click menu

Expected Results:
No delay

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

If there is value, be free to apply a patch to the tree, you or someone else
who can.

There are also other fine adjustments which can be applied within various Glade
files,
in 'svx/uiconfig/ui/', however more on that in another bug report.

Sorting on Source doesn't matter for VLOOKUP() on Magnagement, last parameter
is 0.

Sorting on Magnagement only column B changes nothing for me. But by your image
you are sorting also the column A with column B values base, see the letters on
the last rows, so there is nothing wrong on the results.

I think the better you can do is to create a pivot table from the magnagement
A:B table, in which you can sort and do some calculation without need to touch
the link formulas.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105207] Crash while calling MRI when it is not loaded.

I have another crash report at
http://crashreport.libreoffice.org/stats/crash_details/265913bb-3818-4f5f-862d-fbe114715e79
which I think is the same bug. Hope this helps.

This one happened after another LO crash (no crash report produced) when I was
debugging a macro with MRI. After the crash the MRI library disappeared from My
Macros - I hadn't realised this when recovering the documents. SO there are
probably two bugs here - one when debugging the macro (not been able to
reproduce this yet) and the current bug.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=104130

Those are not descriptions, rather they are ODF compliant names for the style
exposed to the UI.

On Windows 10 Pro 64-bit en-US with
Version: 5.3.0.2 (x64)
Build ID: 5ad7b2889021c491af62f7930a4b1cb631392f16
CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Windows 6.19; UI Render: GL; Layout Engine: new;
Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: group

Having the style name visible on the droplist is helpful, and seems to fit the
with "Line with Fine Dots" style the widest in en-US.

Believe it is correct to retain the naming of the style in the drop list, as
opening the more options Line dialog exposes the Line Styles and Arrow Styles
elements in the ODF. The applied styles can be modified, and additional styles
added--but the actual _name) is significant and should probably be shown in
full--or possibly be provided as tooltips on mouseover of elements in the drop
list(s).

Hi Patrick Smits

Your comment reminds me what seems to be a bug OF LO

1) create a template, with a footer.
2) create a doc from this template
3) change the footer text in the template
4) reopen the doc (clic yes to update doc) => the footer is updated

OK, all is right

5) add an image to the footer in the template
6) reopen the doc => the place for the image exists, but it's empty

I think it's bug. Do you ?

Unifying the units is on out the todo list. In bug 72662 it's argued why units
have to be different and in bug 44267 a more precise input including conversion
feature is requested.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50699] Template Changer: Allow ability to change a document' s associated template

2017-01-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50699

Hi Samual,

I agree with Pierre C.

A template is not just solely about text styles. When you create a document
from a template, it contains all the styles and formatting as intended. In many
organizations it may even contain text, headers, footers, logo's or any other
common information that may not change for similar documents.

Many organizations rely on templates for a uniform presentation and work flow.

In fact rather than showing all text (the middle dropdown has also labels) we
would better go with graphics only, if those were something that can be
separated from the label. But likely it isn't, so WONTFIX anyway.

One must have Extended Tooltips activated (Tools > Options > LibreOffice >
General)

In my version (Ubuntu Linux, 5.4 master) the tooltip is poping up irregular,
but no constant annoying flickering.

This doesnt seem to be a problem to me as the preview is visible and the text
is beneficial when the drop down menu is open and not crucial when it is

2017-01-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50699

If we load styles from a document or a template, the two documents are not
linked.
A change in the source document's (or template) styles will not be propagated
to the other.

When you create a document from a template. Each change to the template will be
copied to the document when you (re)open it.

The link can be seen to property doc tab (file/properties/tab General, line
template) If this line is blank there is no link with a template)
If a template is shown here this mean taht this doc is linked to this template.

IMHO, here, the UI should allow to unlink the template, or link a(nother)
template with a browse button

There are a few other places through the sidebar where the measurements arent

measurement unit that a user can select isnt a really good option in my view.

--- Comment #12 from Yousuf Philips (jay) ---
Well this issue seems not to be for every single deck without a content panel,
as the styles & formatting, gallery and navigator decks works fine and it
doesnt have content panels. The problem seems to be limited to the slide
transition and custom animation decks in impress as pressing tab after focus
has reached the sidebar title bar's close button causes the deck to refresh
each time you press it.

So I discovered we also have "Load Styles..." in Writer in the Styles menu.
Using that, you can load Styles from another document into the current one.

Is that an acceptable solution? Or is there something we can improve in that
feature

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 105438] New: Gradient fill is wrong in slide show, but correct in edit mode, for shape "quad-bevel"

2017-01-19 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=105438

Bug ID: 105438
Summary: Gradient fill is wrong in slide show, but correct in
edit mode, for shape "quad-bevel"
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rb.hensc...@t-online.de

Created attachment 130558
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=130558=edit
contains examples and screenshot of these examples in edit mode

Open attached document. Is contains shapes of type "quad-bevel" with a radial
gradient in the upper part. The lower part has a screenshot of how it looks in
edit mode. Start slide show. Notice, that the subpaths of the shape look
different than in edit mode.

>From rendering I guess, that the subpath is treated as separate shape and gets
the gradient newly applied. So the position of the gradient center is relative
to the bounding box of the subpath instead of the whole shape.

I'm not aware of, and didn't find, a reason why Left alignment by default would
not be OK.
Looks as a good thing to me.
