Sorry to say, but now it's very problematic due to shortage of time. This test
requires at least 15 minutes for a version. I'll try to do it in October. 5.4.1
has other issues so the problems with track changes are rather painful.

A one-page file still opens in double-page display, although correctly, but

Several commits mention editviewoverlay, including 71a8c7a5:

I am removing keyword bibisectRequest and adding keyword bibisected.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 39560] UI: Columns in Format-Page-Columns-dialog are equalized in some situations

2017-09-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39560

--- Comment #12 from Leandro Martín Drudi ---
Still reproducible in 5.4.1.
1) Edit page property or create a new page style.
2) Set margin to 0
3) Set Border Spacing to Contents to any value.
4) Set columns to different width.
5) Apply.
6) Edit style or page property and the columns with retorn to the same value.

It is a shame that this mistake is still taken as something unimportant.
Editing a document becomes very annoying in LibO. Maybe that's why many users
have gone to other suites or continue with MS Office.
I am sorry but I am very annoyed by this problem that makes me lose a lot of
time in editing a file when it should be something simple.
I upload a video in Bug 112217.

2017-09-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon

This is clearly NOT a font issue, but a memory allocation and de-allocation
issue. No font file, however badly put together, should cause a crash. No
software should rely on foreign files to be perfect and should always protect
itself from bad input. Of course, a lot of software does not do this.

confirmed a still very long looking line shape in LO 6.0dev. Looking at the
positioning and size properties it reports being 16cm long, and hitting OK
makes it properly sized.

Shows up in bibisect-43max as long in 3.6, but as a tiny dot before that.
Unfortunately I could not identify the commit that affected the length, since
it covers about 1.5 months of commits.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 76147] Formatting: video in presentation slide is always in front of (on top of) text during slideshow

2017-09-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=76147

I just tested this bug using Version: 5.3.4.2 (x64). The text that is supposed
to be in front of the video is still behind the video so that the text does not
show.

My current computer is running Windows 10 Home.

Looking at playback with the preferred /usr/lib*/gstreamer-1.0/libgstgtksink.so

that. So seems reproducible anyway which is a good start

Back again. I was confused by this term "commit" - but have used Telesto's link
(thank you Telesto) to install the version 6.0.0. . It almost solves the
problem. I can scoll through my fonts and not crash - unless I scroll VERY
rapidly. This is just an initial response, so yet to be tested by time, but I
can live with this if it proves to be consistent with what I have seen just
now.

John - and others: Thank you. Starting with few fonts and increasing is an
idea, but I just don't have the time, unfortunately - and that may not be the
issue. I have neglected to mention that my other computer (desktop also running
Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit), has no problems. Unfortunately, it's convenient for
me to use this laptop much of the time.
The suggestions of the daily commit releases take me out of my depth - or
appear to. I'm reasonably computer literate so could probaly sort out that
approach, but exploring needs time Ilack.

I deleted the old version of LibreOffice Vanilla from my computer. Then I
downloaded the correct version (see first attachment). However, when I try to
print a document, the same problem is still occurring. I tried it with several
different documents, and it happens every time. I've looked through the forum,
but I can't find another thread that gives instructions on how to fix this.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112216] New: UI: First press of Backspace or Delete cannot delete characters in distance of shadow for shapes

2017-09-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112216

Bug ID: 112216
Summary: UI: First press of Backspace or Delete cannot delete
characters in distance of shadow for shapes
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikenyannyan...@gmail.com

Description:
When I try to edit distance of shadow of newly created shape,
first press of Backspace or Delete cannot delete characters in the editbox.

When I use arrow keys to move the caret left or right before trying to delete
charaacters, characters aren't deleted by the first press of Backspace
or Delete after using arrow keys.

After typing some characters (numbers) in the shadow distance field,
first press of Backspace or Delete after that can delete characters as
expected.

In the shadow angle field, without typing numbers or other characters,
first press of Backspace or Delete can delete characters as expected.
After editing angle, first Backspace or Delete in the shadow distance field
can delete characters as expected, but just focusing to angle field
before focusing to distance field couldn't make the first press work.

I also tried selecting multiple characters in the distance field and
pressing Backspace key. The result is similar: the characters aren't deleted
in the first attempt, but are deleted in the second attempt.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice Impress from the Start menu.
2. Click "Rectangle" button in the tool bar and put a rectangle.
(arbitrary size and position is OK)
3. In the property of the rectangle, turn on check for "enable" in "shadow"
4. Click just right of "6" (before "pt") in the "distance" field
   and put a caret there.
5. Press Backspace key.

Actual Results:
The caret moves left without deleting the character "6".

Expected Results:
The character "6" is deleted.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Tested with LibreOffice 5.4.1.2 (x64) on Windows 7 x64.
According to my memory, this bug should be reproduced with
LibreOffice 5.3, Windows and Mac OS X version.

Hi,

I used the “T” symbol, indeed. And I just remarked that indeed it is impossible
to apply a style.

But when I made my first experiments, I did not apply the style. In fact I
copied and pasted already styled characters into the textbox. The formatting
was kept, etc.

So to reproduce the behaviour:
1. Type “ABC” in the main editor.
2. Apply character formatting to it.
3. Create the textbox (T icon in the insert menu)
4. Copy the ABC in the main text and paste it into the textbox.

The same character formatting is kept, but there is now a disconnection between
the character and the style.

Now I understand this it is probably not meant to behave like that, but I would
certainly have appreciated it.

Thank you and best regards!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112215] New: LibreOffice crashes due to PPD file using CUPS

2017-09-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112215

Bug ID: 112215
Summary: LibreOffice crashes due to PPD file using CUPS
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: jeti2...@hotmail.com

Created attachment 136013
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=136013=edit
Lexmark printer PPD file that makes LibreOffice crash whenever it is parsed.

I have a printer that uses a PPD file for the 'Lexmark MS310 Series'.
In the PPD file (see attachment) you can find the following two relevant lines:

*?FileSystem: ""
*?TTRasterizer: ""

Even though this is no syntax error according to 'cupstestppd' utility, it is
these two lines that make LibreOffice crash (upon opening any Print dialog, and
sometimes even when opening an existing file rendering LibreOffice unusable).

Removing these lines from the PPD file, and modifying the printer in the CUPS
webinterface with these changes, solves the problem.

This only occurs when the PPD file is added to a printer, and the CUPS service
is running.

I have reproduced this issue on two different computers consistently. And using
the backtrace parameter, I found that the exception occurs somewhere in a
PPDParser related code.

This behavior is bad since a PPD file should never be able to crash LibreOffice
without any errors/warnings.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112214] New: BASE, Form Editor: changing width or height of a control does not set save status to changed , thus no prompt for saving is triggered

2017-09-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112214

Bug ID: 112214
Summary: BASE, Form Editor: changing width or height of a
control does not set save status to changed, thus no
prompt for saving is triggered
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.3.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: gerhard.we...@t-online.de

Normally, if you change an attribute in a form using the control properties
dialog box, the save icon will change its appearance as soon as you click into
another attribute, adding the green "star" indicating that there has been a
change.
This does not happen for the width and height fields.
As a consequence, there is no prompt to save the changes when the form document
is closed, and the change is lost.
I have tested this with a text box, a formatted field and an Image control. In
my tests I have found no other attribute whith the same behaviour as for these
two fields.
The bug may be older than it seems: in 5.2 all seems to work properly, but this
may be due to the fact, that the Save icon already shows the green star when
opening the form document for editing, prompting to save the document even
though you changed nothing. Thus the bug, if already present, would have been
hidden.

Enabling "Freeze First Column" or "Freeze First Row" they *do* check the
"Freeze Rows and Columns" box, and giving the wording "Freeze ..." without any
checkbox that's one more reason to expect that when selecting the other one the
first one is not removed.

One can always remove any freeze with choosing the checked "Freeze Rows and
Columns".

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 112213] New: Documents Based on Templates which are Read-only are not Editable

2017-09-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112213

Bug ID: 112213
Summary: Documents Based on Templates which are Read-only are
not Editable
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 5.4.1.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: harald.koes...@mail.de

In order to reproduce:

[1] Create new text document and insert some text.
[2] Mark document “Read-only”: File > Properties… > Security > Check “Open file
read-only”, then “OK”.
[3] Save the document as template: File > Templates > Save as template… >
Insert template name > Chose template category > Save.
[4] Close the document without saving.
[5] Create new document based on saved template: File > New > Templates >
Double click new template. Document is opened in read-only mode.
[6] Try to reset Read-only Mode: File > Properties... > Security. Option “Open
file read-only” is greyed and can't be changed. Expected: Reset of Read-only
mode should be possible.

As a consequence it is not possible to protect a template against unwanted
changes. Templates can't be saved read-only if you want to use them.

To my opinion already at step 5 a document should not be opened as read-only.
You usually want to modify a new document also if you use a template.

Gerhard Weydt changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||gerhard.we...@t-online.de

Many changes for a control take effect only when you click into another field.
For example, if you change width, height, position etc. manually by setting
another value, you also have to click elsewhere.
I think the change is only recognized after an event for the field has been
fired, and this happens only when leaving the field, but not when you simply
change the value; this would be uncomfortable because it would be fired
continuously as long as you scroll the wheel or change the value using a spin
button. The firing would probably be quicker than the reaction, leading perhaps
to problems.
For a listbox the situation is different, because the selection of an entry can
fire an event; this is mainly a single choice and not a continuous change, as
described before.
Thus, I do not consider this as a bug. I hope you will understand my reasoning.
If you do, I propose you set the status of this bug to RESOLVED.

Gerhard

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 95694] One cannot print to A4 size paper in Impress.

2017-09-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95694

In LO Impress 5.1.6.2 it is possible to set the paper size via the "Slide ->
Page/Slide Properties..." menu option. This does in fact change the visible
page size.

This bug still exists with respect to printing. Even setting the page size
correctly as described above, Impress prints only to Letter size (irrespective
of "File -> Print -> Options -> Use only paper size from printer preferences).
It also is irrespective of the Locale (English-US vs English-UK), and finally
irrespective of the Paper Size set in the Operating System's Printer
Preferences.

The good news is that this bug appears to no longer affect PDF export. So it is
possible to export to PDF after setting the paper size, and then print the PDF.
In addition, no Page Scaling is needed when printing the PDF; everything is
exactly as it should be. So this is an effective workaround in the meantime
which is worth documenting here.

For reference, the build I am using is 1:5.1.6~rc2-0ubuntu1~xenial2 installed
from the repositories under Xubuntu 16.04.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 108572] Mail merge: embedded database isn' t properly discarded when working with MS Office starting documents

2017-09-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108572

Other way to trigger this issue:

- Open the starting document (DOC or DOCX).
- Start mail merge wizard.
- Jump to step 3. Insert address block, open Select Address List... and after
clicking Add..., select the address list spreadsheet. Click OK in the dialog.
- Click Finish.
- Close document without saving, or save the merged documents, or even the
original, and close it.

=> Verify that in 'Tools -> Options...; LibreOffice Base -> Databases' that
there is a database that points to the supposedly embedded database in the
initial DOCX (the database connection can also be checked in Writer in View ->
Data Sources).

The leftover database entry can be manually deleted in the Options dialog
(could be useful for testing).

To reiterate, not embedding the database connection in the merged and saved
DOCX is fine (that'd be a separate enhancement), this issue is only about the
lingering entry in Registered Databases list.

Well, you didn't understand at all my description. I apologize if I made it
unclear for you to understand, but what I mean is the tool bar. Well, that's
the same problem with the side bar.

What I mean is that, if I change the value of the font size by scrolling my
mouse when hovering over it without using the drop down menu, the value is
changed but the real font size of the words aren't changed.

Maybe you don't consider it as a bug.
