On a 4K (3840 x 2160) monitor, STR shows screen tearing when Hardware
Acceleration rendering is enabled. Disabling HA, or enabling OpenGL rendering
clears issue and the presentation is rendered. 

On this monitor, Left/Right gullies show black at 4:3 presentation, and a 16:9
presentation shows full screen.

Resolving this duplicate of bug 40534 - slide tearing or not shown in LARGE
screens (high resolution) with hardware acceleration enabled.

Actual x86 crash in OGLTranslo.dll -> vclcanvaslo.dll at 5.3.0.3 seemingly a
non-issue.

As in comment 14
After more experimenting, the highest resolution mode for the secondary display
which works is 1360 x 768.  Any resolution below 1360 x 768 (which includes
1280x1024) appears to work.  Anything higher than 1360 x 768 doesn't work.

So any 4K or QHD monitor/projector will cause issues when driven by LibreOffice
with "Use Hardware Acceleration" graphics mode.  Presentation at higher
resolution with CPU only rendering or OpenGL rendering do not tear.

Frederic, could test the Impress presentation using OpenGL rendering and CPU
only rendering as compared to Use Hardware Acceleration.

Well NAB as there is no support in the font replacement table to honor OpenType
features with the established Graphite flag mechanism. 

So this would be an enhancement and likely requires rework of the font handling
to support OTF features via Graphite flags applied to the Font Replacement
Table dialog--if it is even possible.

So would it make sense to do it with the Graphite flags, or via some yet to be
implemented GUI as for bug 58941

Description:
On the tabbed Notebookbar in Writer, clicking the 'Page Margins' icon in the
'Page Layout' tab reveals a dropdown with the margin in centimeters despite
using inches as the default format.

Margins should show in the user-defined unit of measurement.

Actually, the tooltips appear whichever horizontal or vertical line of the
table I hover over with the mouse. 

I had an idea that making the tooltip semi-transparent could solve the problem.
I created a sample with gimp and it is not good. Depending on the transparency
level, either the tooltip itself or the content behind it, one of them is hard
to read. I'm just writing it so that you don't waste your time with it. :)

I attach a gimp file if you want to play with the transparency and a *.png to
show how it looks with transparency=50%.

Can’t reproduce on Linux as well, so that Windows-specific. I don’t know if we
have bibisect on Windows, but if we do then this needs to be bibisected. Not
showing any text because a font is missing or not supported seems like a bug.

Description:
This concerns the search function:
- Search does not find diacritics separately from teaccented charcter.
- {Search and replace} places the new text between the word and its last
diacritic accent. i.e. it pushes the last diacritic accent. I noticed that the
double-clicking a word selects the word without the last diacritic mark, hence
the error in replacement.
- Text in cross-refrences is inaccessible to search. The search fucntion finds
only normal text, text within a refernce, but not text with a cross-reference.
Therefore, it is also inaccessible to indexing.

Actual Results:  
- Separation of last diacritic mark from its word in search and replace
- Searching a word within a cross-reference does not find it.
- a word within a cross-reference is inaccessible to indexing (ex: alphabetical
index).

Now you mix-up different topics. Let's focus on the design question, showing
tree lines to support the hierarchy. 

The option Hierarchical being orthogonal or rather additional to the filters
All styles, Applied, Hidden etc. is a different question and likely discussed
in other tickets.

The issue was having the format between quotation marks in B3 = “-MM-DD",
gives a text date inside quotes C19= "2000-01-01" , what it's not a valid text
to convert in date value.

1) I do not install LO from the Linux Mint repository. Instead, I download the
corresponding debian package and the corresponding off-line help package per:

https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/?type=deb-x86=6.0.2=en-US

2) I unpack these packages as root,
3) I install them as written in the attached readme files,
4) I add/enable a few extensions as root for all user accounts on the system
(alternative searching and German spell correction).

As a result, I have the local fonts folder of LO installed in parallel to the
different fonts folders of my system. I don't know, if the installation from a
repository also comes with a local LO fonts folder. Maybe you can tell me, if
it does?

I never had problems with this procedure, until I installed LO 6. BTW: I have
linked /opt to /usr/local/opt in order to have LO stored on the "local"
partition.

I have the same problem at Mac OS X 10.10.5 and LO 6.0.2.1.
If I export an ODT file as PDF with setting a permission password, I am still
able to copy texts and images from the PDF.

A huge drawback of the current, messy hierarchical view is that since it is not
usable as it is due to all styles being listed whether or not they are applied,
one cannot easily know which paragraph style is inheriting properties from
which other style in a glance. This causes a huge problem later when you want
to change levels or other organizational settings and suddenly see seemingly
unrelated styles are being "randomly" changed as a consequence (of course it is
not random, and they are inheriting properties from the style you just changed,
but you cannot see that). This, in my opinion, defeats the whole purpose of the
hierarchical view.

With a clean hierarchical view, as is suggested in the OP, and proper branch
lines that visually connect and separate each branch from others, for the
Applied Styles, one can easily see and understand what is going on.

Test files to replicate the problem

This bug was filed from the crash reporting server and is
br-cd1600ac-f45a-4bf4-8355-b64996a08db6.

I caused this crash by entering From page number = 0 and To page number = 0
into the mail merge print dialog. A check should probably be added to prevent
such "stupid" values.

But this crash is not the main problem. The problem is that different page
ranges result in strange page ranges to be printed. I have a single page Writer
document and a Calc table with three records as the data source. Here is what I
get for different record ranges:

>From To Result
11  Prints the document filled with data from first record. Fine.
22  Prints document with data from *third* record!
33  Error message: No pages to be printed available (I am translating from
German
13  Prints all three pages. Fine.
23  Prints document with data from *third* record only!

I could not find a bug in mmresultdialogs.cxx that could explain this behavior.
Maybe someone can help.

Comment: I get the impression that Writer first generates an output document
with all pages from all data source records and then prints a page range from
this output document. Shouldn't it be better to generate an output document
only for the selected data source record range and then print all of that
document?

Description:
When I am editing a document in Writer with Track Changes turned on and Show
Changes off, at a seemingly random time after I start making changes I see a
dialog box titled "Show changes?" with the heading "Do you want to show changes
to avoid delays?". The available options are Yes and No, and Writer appears to
only need to be told once per document and session. The problem is that it does
not consistently appear at the first change; in my experience it often pops up
while I am typing a change, at which point it eats everything I type until I
notice it or hit the space bar. The default response appears to be Yes, because
if I type a space before I notice the pop-up dialog the pop-up is removed and
Show Changes is turned on. This is a minor inconvenience, because it is very
easy to turn Show Changes off again and I rarely have to retype more than a
half dozen characters. It is, however, annoying that I have to answer No every
time I embark on a long editing session, and it breaks my concentration,
because I have to reread the text I was changing to see what needs to be
re-entered.

Either the dialog should have an additional option, essentially "No and don't
ask me again", or there should be an option to turn the dialog off; the latter
would probably be the better choice.

Alternatively, determine why showing changes improves performance and fix it,
or determine that it has already been fixed and remove the dialog entirely. I
have been unable to detect a difference in performance between Show Changes on
and off, but I am looking at relatively short documents (less than 150 pages).

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a document; I don't know if there is a lower bound on the size of the
document.
2. Turn Track Changes on and Show Changes off.
3. Start making changes. Unfortunately, it may be necessary to make several
dozen changes before the dialog is triggered; I have been unable to determine
an upper bound.

Actual Results:  
Eventually the annoying dialog box pops up.

Expected Results:
I should be able to make it stop appearing.

Hey Buovjaga,

it may have been too early, to close this issue. My previous statement "It
would be tempting to assume that my fonts installation is corrupt" does not
mean, that my fonts installation is indeed corrupt.

In fact, on my system "Noto Sans Bold" is already installed independent of LO
6.1.2.1 and this installation is working smoothly (see 1st new screenshot of LO
5.4.5.1 Writer).

And, if I rename the "fonts" folder of LO 6.0.2.1 into "fonts.old", so that
this folder is no longer found by LO 6.0.2.1, the problem of the illegible text
is gone (see 2nd new screenshot of LO 6.0.2.1).

So I think, there may be an incompatibility between the local fonts
installation of LO 6.0.2.1 and already existing fonts on given Linux systems.

I think it would be good, if this incompatibility would be addressed in LO.
E.g. LO could first search for necessary fonts on the Linux system and only, if
a font is not found, use the corresponding font from its local installation.

Description:
SW behavior has changed from the previous versions and does not work properly: 
1) pasting unformatted text in a single column using "paste special" erases 2-3
columns adjacent to the right; in previous version the same merely substitued
content of a single column

2) if multiple cells are copied, they stay in the "clipboard", despite new data
has been copied from outised of the program. example: copy cells A1:C1 to A3:C3
then open textEdit and copy a number (3) from there, in cell G1 try to write
"=A1+", but pasting merely enters content A1:C1 that remained in the
clipboard

Description:
While searching for a workaround for
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116490, I found that it was
possible to prevent ligatures being added between characters by appending
`:-liga` to the name of the current font. 

I now wish to define replacements in the Font Replacement Table (Tools >
Options > LibreOffice > Fonts) such that e.g. "SomeFont Sans" -> "SomeFont
Sans:-liga". This does not work - the font still contains ligatures after its
replacement is added to the table.

N.B. Replacing two normal fonts works e.g. "DejaVu Sans" -> "Verdana"

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new document containing the word "final" in font "DejaVu Sans"
2. Select "final" and change the font to "DejaVu Sans:-liga"

3. Create a new document exactly like the first
4. Add "DejaVu Sans" -> "DejaVu Sans:-liga" to the Font Replacement Table
(Tools > Options > LibreOffice > Fonts)

Actual Results:  
The "fi" in the first document contains a ligature, but not in the second
document

Expected Results:
The "fi" in both documents should not contain a ligature

For testing, other combinations of letters than contain ligatures include ft,
ff, tt, tf, ti, fj...

Font fall back mechanisms differ between supported OS. Windows DirectX11
DirectWrite support has been a challenge.

Hierarchical tree branch view in another word-processor

Hierarchical tree lines that connects the branches as they appear nested inside
one another also make the Hierarchical view a lot more readable. This
screenshot  shows how it is done in another word-processor.

This is simply a font fallback issue. Or rather that the unsupported Roman PS
font used is not receiving a fallback. 

It is not new at 6.0, I get the same issue with 5.4 builds, as well as 6.0 and
current master. A font replacement was performed through 5.3 where we dropped
support for bitmap and PS Type 1 fonts.

If I specify a font replacement for the font; i.e. Tools -> Options -> Fonts:
"Apply replacement table" (as localized), and then enter Font "Roman PS" and
Replace with "Tahoma" [or "Arial Unicode MS" or "Segoe UI" or "Liberation Sans"
etc.] the page will show.

The font heights will not match, so may have to tweak the document--so at that
point probably best to regenerate as OOXML or ODF with a supported font.

Leaning toward => NAB, but just a quick review.

@Khaled, just a sanity check here please--is loss of LO managed font fall back
5.3 -> 5.4 onward correct?
