[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115311] UI missing for nesting character styles
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115311 --- Comment #12 from Heiko Tietze--- (In reply to csongor from comment #11) > Created attachment 141973 [details] Thanks a lot, great to have different proposals. I would prefer to not show all style properties (e.g. Default: Blinking=No), rather what's different to the used paragraph style, i.e. direct formatting. Your temporarily on/off feature sounds like an overkill to me and clutters the UI a lot with all these checkboxes (could be solved with a context menu, though). And last but not least it's not easy to understand the hierarchy without indentation. Admitted that your layout is more flexible and readable. Maybe we put some arrows in front of the list items pointing from bottom to top. But that's all my two cents and the discussion is open. (In reply to Thomas Lendo from comment #8) > The filter options 'Preview...', 'List used styles...' and the filter > drop-down list is also important for character styles - or work the filters > for both panels at once? If yes then the position can be enhanced to show > that. Correct, missed that. So we better group paragraph and character together as both are toggled with the kind of style anyway. And to clean up the UI I would think about moving the checkboxed options from paragraph styles into a context menu. > Is it desired to show how styles are nested? A new filter checkbox 'Show > nested styles' can show only nested styles in a hierarchical way to see > which is on top of what style. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117518] New: When working within a text box, tabs placed using the ruler don't work.
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117518 Bug ID: 117518 Summary: When working within a text box, tabs placed using the ruler don't work. Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.4.6.2 release Hardware: Other OS: Mac OS X (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: tragou...@mac.com Description: When formatting a paragraph within a textbook in word processing document the ruler is available above the textbook, but the tabs added there are ignored by the program. For example, click on the ruler to place a tab 3 in. from the left margin and it shows up on the ruler as expected, but when you type in that paragraph and press the tab key the cursor moves to the next preset tab stop, even though that tab stop no longer appears on the ruler. additional presses of the tab key moves the cursor over to successive preset tab stops, none of which appear on the ruler. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open a word processing (Writer) document. 2. Create a text box within the above document. 3. Type any text adding a tab to shift the text that follows. 4. Adjust the tab position using the ruler (to avoid having to open the tabs dialog box). Actual Results: Though the desired tab placement shows on the ruler, the actual tabs available as you type are the default tab stops every 1/2 inch. You must tab over several times to move the cursor to the desired location. Expected Results: After setting the tab at 3 inches, pressing the tab key within that paragraph should move the cursor directly under the 3 inch point on the ruler. Reproducible: Always User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_13_4) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/11.1 Safari/605.1.15 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116498] Wrong font metrics with Font "DIN Light"
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116498 --- Comment #18 from Maxim Monastirsky--- (In reply to Samuel Mehrbrodt (CIB) from comment #0) > You can download the affected font "Din Light" from here: > https://www.dafontfree.net/freefonts-din-f59477.htm Obviously this isn't the right version to test, as it identifies itself as "DIN" in the font name box (only the Character dialog shows "Light" in the style list box). So by default the bugdoc uses some fallback font. And if then I select the text and manually apply the "DIN" font (or by using the font replacement table), the text remains vertically centered. Also, searching the net for "din-light.ttf", revealed several other variations with different file sizes. Some of them listed as "DIN Light" but don't show the bug, and one (of 62.5 KB) that shows the bug in *both* LO and Word 2016 (except that in Word it's listed as "DIN-Light" instead of "DIN Light"). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117516] New: Linked table in Writer can' t be reduced to a smaller size when reducing range
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117516 Bug ID: 117516 Summary: Linked table in Writer can't be reduced to a smaller size when reducing range Product: LibreOffice Version: Inherited From OOo Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: ba...@caesar.elte.hu Blocks: 112071 - In Calc add a few values in a small range, eg. in A1:C3. - Copy the range. - In Writer, paste the range in an empty document as DDE link (via Paste Special). - In Writer, open Edit -> Links to External Files..., click Modify..., and change Category to a smaller range, eg. Sheet1.A1:B2. => Note how the table is updated to exclude the values outside the new range, but the table itself isn't truncated, still has the same number of rows/columns as before. I'd expect the table to be reduced to fit the new range, especially since it's not possible to delete columns/rows from a linked table manually. Observed using LO 6.0.3.2 & 3.3.0 / Ubuntu 17.10. Well, that's a possibility, too :) > We should not pretend to be a Windows only development project, nor adopt > practices geared to programs that are. Oh. I fail to see how this is relevant here. The current sequence is one of the possibilities listed in the MSDN documentation; and actually I refuse to accept that trying to be more fail-safe == pretend to be Windows-only. > We already diverge with our > Multi-language MSI (and our language strings longer than 254 characters) as > in bug 45750. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117513] New: Firebird: DATALOSS Data entered into embedded firebird table in the Beamer window is lost
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117513 Bug ID: 117513 Summary: Firebird: DATALOSS Data entered into embedded firebird table in the Beamer window is lost Product: LibreOffice Version: 6.1.0.0.alpha1+ Master Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Base Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: drewjensen.in...@gmail.com Description: Base when using the embedded firebird data engine does not write data to the disk until the user executes a file save. When a registered database using the firebird sdbc is opened in the beamer window (writer or calc) and data is entered into a table there is no way for the user to save the database (odb) file from that UI. The data entered will be lost when the file you are working on closes. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Download and open the attached firebird ODB file 2. open Tools|Options|Base|Databases 3. click on new and register the downloaded file. 4. Create a new Calc or Writer file 5. Open the beamer window (View|Data Sources) 6. double click on the newly registered database name from above 7. open the Tables entry and double click on the first table. (tbl_text_varchar) 8. A table grid displays to the right, in the beamer and shows it is ready to enter new records. 9. Enter a value in tst_data field for a new record. 10. Close the Calc or Writer file 11. Open the database file. 12. Open table tbl_text_varchar Actual Results: The record you entered, and thought you saved, in the beamer is gone. Expected Results: Record was retained in database table. https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117507 Thomas Woltjerchanged: What|Removed |Added Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #1 from Thomas Woltjer --- I can verify that this is an issue. It doesn't crash LO, but causes one of the threads to max out for periods of time, decreasing responsiveness by several seconds. This shouldn't be happening with just a 75 by 75 table. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117500] Sidebar is not draggable if there is no open sidebar deck
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117500 V Stuart Footechanged: What|Removed |Added Keywords||needsUXEval Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW CC||libreoffice-ux-advise@lists ||.freedesktop.org, ||vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu Blocks||103459 Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #1 from V Stuart Foote --- No, IMHO behavior is correct as implemented. The "Sidebar Settings" gear icon split button widget includes an Undock entry. Or, as noted, for an expanded Deck just the Deck Title object can receive a click-drag action to undock the SideBar. The GUI drag undock/dock (it goes both ways) is performed against the frame holding the entire Sidebar--so having just the Deck Title a target for the grab is enough given that we also provide the split button menu for the undock action. Linking the dock/undock action to each Content Panel held in a Deck would be a nuisance to implement, and to maintain, for each content panel. Keep the GUI implementation simple and continue to _only_ target the Deck Title for mouse drag. => WONTFIX Referenced Bugs: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=103459 [Bug 103459] [META] Sidebar UI and UX bugs and enhancements -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
