I was trying to set a table's borders to be 0.05pt white, from the default

This was a table that was in another table.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 43680] Custom keyboard shortcuts: Mac equivalent to alt-key shortcuts not working

2018-05-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43680

This bug is still present in Version 6.0.1.1

I note that the shortcuts no longer show ^ but instead show ⌥ which is the
usual notation for the alt/option key.

However, it still doesn’t do the job, and I wouldn’t expect it to. On the
Macintosh, the option key is used for additional characters, and using it as an
alternative for the command or control key is definitely not good practice.

I tried the following:

Tools/Customize/Keyboard

I selected the function 100% and assigned ⌥C. All I get is ç which is normal on
the Mac. Trying shift-⌥ -C gave me Ç which is also normal.

Trying ctrl-c just gave me c.

I know that the Mac has a tendency to impose system-wide shortcuts with the
command key, but it seems an odd solution to attempt to use the ⌥ key instead.
In any case, nothing works.

1. Follow
Tools->Options
Advanced
Open Expert Configuration
org.openoffice.VCL
DefaultFonts
en
org.openoffice.VCL:LocalizedDefaultFont['en'] UI_SANS

2. Add
IPAPGothic;
in front of Segoe UI;

3. Restart LibreOffice

With these steps,
I confirmed that inputting 3042 into "Hexadecimal: U+" will change the
upper-right image to the "あ" character.

please note that changing
org.openoffice.VCL:LocalizedDefaultFont['ja'] UI_SANS does not work.

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Just a guess, didn't test this myself:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67874] Other: No icon association with MS Office files on OSX

2018-05-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67874

Could someone without MS Office check if this was still present in OpenOffice
3.3?
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/3.3.0.4/mac/x86/LibO_3.3.0_MacOS_x86_install_en-US.dmg

I had a look in the info.plist and icons are not declared for MS office file
formats AFAICT

Looking on the file on git I can't identify this ever being the case:
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/log/sysui/desktop/macosx/Info.plist?id=6e78fd18c9ca2d70af93cad321f55f3d72172742
Although I'm not 100% sure that file is the same as the app bundle?

Shouldn't actually be too hard to implement, although to me it's an open
question whether CFBundleTypeIconFile or UTTypeIconFile should be used

It should still be possible to add or extend objects outside of slide/paper
size but the default is better to be restricted. I never understood why it is
possible to scroll left/right/up/down of slide/paper size when this is the
intended area the user should work with and where users present their content
(presentation) to others. I don't see the benefit of the current behavior in
contrary to GIMP and Inkscape.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 98838] blank pages added in the middle of a column on DOCX file

2018-05-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon

This bug is still present in:
Version: 6.0.3.2
Build-ID: 8f48d515416608e3a835360314dac7e47fd0b821
CPU-Threads: 8; BS: Linux 4.4; UI-Render: Standard; VCL: gtk2;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); Calc: group

I found this report because I have received another docx-file which shows blank
pages at the end.

Also interesting is the fact that a similar doc-related (not docx) issue has
already been fixed (Bug 95531).

Tested with a large file in Windows 8.1 / LO 6.0

I can't reproduce the bug but I found a strange behaviour of progress bar
(OpenGL activation status does not influence):

1. Status bar shows "Loading document...". Progress bar moves from left to
right
2. Status bar shows no label. Progress bar moves from left to middle of status
bar
3. No indication in the status bar and gray screen for a few seconds.
4. The document and writer UI is displayed.

The screenshot attached to this report makes that one obvious: Ubuntu.

I recommend Ubuntu users to add the LibreOffice PPA to keep track of the latest
released versions: https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/ubuntu/ppa
That PPA is maintained by the same people that provide Ubuntu official packages
of LibreOffice.

2018-05-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon

"What is the effect of Tools > Options > Writer > Printing ... "Print
automatically inserted blank pages" for your case?"

-This setting is of little relevance.
It does not affect the way the document reacts to viewing settings, and it
changes nothing to the pdf export. I could not try printing right now, but I
assume that the setting will work as published there.

My problem is one of editing, not printing.
I need to edit the document with left- and right-hand pages displayed properly
next to each other on the screen (for example, left page often contains a
screenshot, while the right-hand page explains the contents of the screenshot).

In all other viewing modes but "book mode", writer swaps left with right (due
displaying the first page on the left hand side), and in "book mode" I get all
the auto-generated blank pages pushed in whenever the numbering starts at 1 for
what should be a left-hand page.

The only way to work around this is to add an empty page in front of page 1,
view it in not "book mode", and delete this page before printing or exporting
to pdf.
Doing this risks destroying the formatting throughout the document when the
page is removed (although it should not).

I file bug 117628 for the crash, it only affects kde4 and gen VCL backends.

Now I found this old report, which I've even set a bug bounty on: bug 34940
It would allow to have click interactions with *embedded* media, so we would
not have to rely on *linked* media.

I am sorry Heiko, but I do not agree.

Reason:
its not possible using the percent values as has been shown clearly.

its possible using the cm values.

So I still feel why should it not be possible using percent values with a
comma. I do not feel happy with this.

Its also not possible doing very precise sizing sometimes using the mouse.
Sometimes I am not far enough and sometimes too far. Therefore I need the
menue.

You’re asking for something impossible. How can you quantify understanding?

AFAIK, “courriel” is the preferred term across Francophone translation
communities (at least, it’s used in KDE and Ubuntu French l10n teams, the ones
I’m familiar with).
Also, it’s got the Académie française’s seal of approval in 2003.
http://www.academie-francaise.fr/questions-de-langue#26_strong-em-courriel-ml-em-strong

> […] when the French Academy prescribed "mèl"

It’s actually “mél.”, but that’s an abbreviation not intended to be used as a
noun to translate “email”. It was created by analogy with “tel.” for
“téléphone”.

Argh, I realised that no audio files are embedded into the file, if we use the
"Interaction - Play sound". They are always pointing to file paths in the
system.

This is really kind of a mess. I tried the Media player method mentioned here,
but it crashed when I closed the media player:
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/83486/impress-how-play-embedded-audio-automatically/

I have to discuss with someone about this.

Sorry, I misread the issue a bit. Using the mousewheel to reorder slides does
not work with Windows builds either.

With focus in the Slides preview pane the mousewhell will only scroll the list.
It can not be used to reorder the selected slides.

You _can_ drag a selection of slides to the top or the bottom of the Slides
preview sorting pane. Holding over the small targets at top or bottom will
scroll the preview pane and advance the drop location.

But positioning the drop location can not be done with the mousewheel on
Windows either.

Bug ID: 117627
Summary: Impress shows only right side of page (twice) and

presentation mode
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: directo...@gmx.de

Description:
When I switch to presentation mode the sheet is split in halves by a vertical
line. Only the right third (approximately) of the content is shown on screen,
but twice: Once on the left and once on the right side of the screen. It is
overlayed by a white rectangle with a little, blue hourglass in the upper left
corner.
Running on a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Tablet with Windows 10 Professional.
Critical bug, since it renders the presentation application unusable.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the given .odp File
2. Start presentation

Actual Results:
Distroyed rendering of the content with a white overlay.

Expected Results:
Presentation is displayed correctly

Reproducible: Always

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Calc

The English text related to statistical functions needs some cleanup, there are
several nearly identical strings which should be unified. Perhaps these are
just 3 different things, but we have 10 versions. Translation of these nearly
identical strings is a nightmare and requires to study details of these
functions.

Number 1, number 2, ... are 1 to 254 numerical arguments which portray a
sample.
Number 1, number 2, ... are numerical arguments portraying a sample of the
distribution.
Number 1, number 2, ... are numerical arguments portraying the population.

Number 1, number 2, ... are numerical arguments which represent a population.
Number 1, number 2;...are numeric arguments representing a population sample.

One should minimize the number of variants:
which portray - portraying
which represent - representing
represent - portray (If these are synonyms)
a sample - a sample of the distribution - a sample of a population - a
population sample

(In reply to Regina Henschel from comment #12)
> The "correct" way to make the further paragraphs belong to the already

> Previous Numbering"

Sounds like a plan. Additionally we could go with radio buttons "( ) Continue
numbering, (o) Restart numbering here" to make it perfectly clear.

> I consider it a bug, that LibreOffice behaves different whether you mark the
> paragraphs top-bottom or bottom-top...

Okay, let's drop it (not sure if this easter egg is implemented intentionally).

> A further problem is, that the user cannot easily distinguish, whether he
> has created a new list or has continued a list but restarted the numbering...

What users expect is something like

#1 First
Lorem ipsum
#2 Second

Today, #2 is not connected to the list above. If we go with radio buttons the
option "( ) Continue numbering" would be disabled if it's the first list in the
document but otherwise checking it changes the list id regardless any text.

@Dennis,

Could you please retest OpenGL with current drivers [1]; i.e. for Windows 10
the 15.40 4963 build, or for Windows 8.1 the 15.36 4889 build. The 6.19 had you
on Windows 10 when reported, right?

If updated drivers resolves, we'll set this a dupe of bug 107764

Otherwise if still broken, we'd need the vendor and device ids and the driver
version to add to the black list. Get those from a msinfo32.exe run--the
Components -> Display panel PNP Device ID

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117625] New: FILESAVE Writer freezes when exporting to PDF

2018-05-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117625

Bug ID: 117625
Summary: FILESAVE Writer freezes when exporting to PDF
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.4.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: s...@limbozz.com

Created attachment 142114

ODT file that causes freeze

I'm converting ODT files to PDF, using LO Writer through unoconv. The ODT files
are generated by Appy Pod[1].

In most cases, the above works perfectly fine, however with some documents, LO
Writer freezes/takes 100% CPU load on one core, without crashing or responding
at all.

unoconv command line to reproduce: (download the file from the attachments)

  unoconv -f pdf -vvv directive_1640_56.odt

Output on my system:

  Verbosity set to level 3
  Using office base path: /usr/lib64/libreoffice
  Using office binary path: /usr/lib/libreoffice/program
  DEBUG: Connection type:
  socket,host=127.0.0.1,port=2002,tcpNoDelay=1;urp;StarOffice.ComponentContext
  DEBUG: Existing listener not found.
DEBUG: Launching our own listener using
  /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin.
  LibreOffice listener successfully started. (pid=31074)
  Input file: directive_1640_56.odt

Version 5.4.6.2 40m0(Build:2) is affected as well.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117624] New: error in mail merge when sending emails

2018-05-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117624

Bug ID: 117624
Summary: error in mail merge when sending emails
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Base
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: fpag...@pep.it

Description:
I want to send by email a personalized document to a list of customers.
Following
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/images/3/3c/WG4211-UsingMailMerge.pdf, I
created the plain document using Writer and I made the list of recipients using
Calc. If I run the mail merger to create a printed version all is ok, but when
I asked to send te document by email a lot of difficulties arose:
1) since I am using SMPTP_SSL, I had to make the changes described in
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/scripting/source/pyprov/mailmerge.py?id=036b51dbc49b533d1db773d8627d56ab86bca487
2) each document is sent to the email address of the next row in the database
3) even if I asked to not use a greeting, a standargreeting was added on top of
the email.
I am using Libreoffice for Windows (10) Version: 6.0.4.2 (x64) Build ID:
9b0d9b32d5dcda91d2f1a96dc04c645c450872bf.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create a document in Writer
2. create a list in Calc
3. run the mail merge requesting to send an email to all

Actual Results:
The email is sent to the email address of the next row

Expected Results:
The email is sent to the email address of the actual row

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 117468] FILESAVE Writer crashes trying to save image as BMP, PNG, TIFF, JPEG

2018-05-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=117468

So the dialog was already used by Draw in LO 5.X, and it had the same issue
reported above.

Essentially we end up using a too big scaling factor and try to handle an image
of > 1 GB (in the TIFF case is > 500 GB).

The solution is to limit the input for the dialog to sensible values.

I provided a proof of concept patch: https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/54361

If you can think of a better max image size value or better criteria, feel free
to modify it. ;-)
