Sorry Mike, I'm just dense.

Yes we expand/collapse the "Content panels" held in the Sidebar Deck. There are
a few collapsible "sections" in the dialogs, but "Tab" pages are simply a more
functional GUI in more instances--here it could be either.

Well think we do on most dialogs, e.g. Tools -> Options, or Expert
Configuration.

Specific glyph depends on DE where the slection choices are "+ or -" pairs, and
some as "⏵or ⏷" pairs.

Heiko's RDE shows the selection in "⏵or ⏷" pairs.

All controls should be visible and the UI simplified for consistency of working
in all scripts.

Heiko's mockup comment 10 comment 11 would be reasonable UI to do so, but
perhaps some logic that the "primary" active tab (Western, CJK, CTL) be drawn
from the user locale.

The behavior became:

2. Add a rectangle with height more than 21cm
3. Right-click the rectangle and choose "Position and Size"
4. You'll see the height become 14.84 cm, and can not set more than it. When
clicking OK, the rectangle will become 14.84 cm height.

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118477] New: Draw Pivot Point is not remembered after deselection.

2018-06-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118477

Bug ID: 118477
Summary: Draw Pivot Point is not remembered after deselection.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.4.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Draw
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mbbtheb...@yahoo.com

Description:
The pivot-point should be remembered after being custom-set, with a separate
button to re-set the pivot point to default. (in case you lost it off-screen)

Or there should be a setting (system-wide or toggle per object) to remember it.
And a new button to re-set the pivot point to it's default.
The side-bar under properties>rotation would be a place to have them too.

Here is an example movie of how it works in Inkscape (and why):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpVjhl0lVeo

see also:
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/136986/two-problems-with-pivot-points/

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create a shape (triangle)
2. go to rotation mode
3. click object twice, move pivot point to a corner of the triangle
4. rotate triangle (it rotates around the corner)
5. select anything else
6. re-select the triangle and try to rotate it, it will rotate around center,
not it's corner. The pivot point has jumped back.

Actual Results:
When trying to make an umbrella, copies had to be rotated correctly in one
move, or the point had to be re-set again.

Expected Results:
It should remember the pivot point to remain in place when rotating the same
object twice.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
Once set, you can copy the object and it is remembered in the copy once. But
once de-selected it is lost.
When accessing the rotation via [right-click >position and size > rotate]
twice, it resets in between, because right-button is de-selecting

Derivative of https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77815 (Which
should probably by set to fixed, as that part works)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118476] New: Korean Hanja to Hangul Conversion can't show multiple Hangul Character

2018-06-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118476

Bug ID: 118476
Summary: Korean Hanja to Hangul Conversion can't show multiple
Hangul Character
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: LibreOffice
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: sungd...@gmail.com

Description:
Hanja(한자/漢字) is the Korean name for Chinese characters.
Each Hanja(한자/漢字) consists of at least three parts in a Korean dictionary. But
knowing the other three parts listed here is also helpful for memorization and
application:

For Literacy:
The symbol: 家
The sound: 가(ga)
The meaning: 집/집안 or가문(house/family)

some Hanja characters have more than one representation.
Example
家 - reads only one Korean Sound, 가(ga)
茶 - read 2 Korean Sounds, 차(Cha), 다(Da)
龜 - read 3 Korean Sounds, 구(Gu), 귀(Gwi), 균(Gyun).
寧 - read 3 Korean Sounds, 녕(Nyeong), 령(Ryeong), 영(yeong).
樂 - read 4 Korean sounds, 낙(Nak) 락(Lak) 악(Ak) 요(yo).

But, In LibreOffice's "Hangul/Hanja Conversion" feature, Hanja(한자/漢字) to
Hangul(한글) results only one Korean Hangul Pronunciation.

家 - reads only one Korean Sound, 가(ga) -> It's Ok

茶 - read 2 Korean Sounds, 차(Cha), 다(Da)

茶啖
Example)
- 다담(Da Dam)
- 차담(Cha Dam)
茶房
Example)
- 다방(Da Bang)
- 차방(Cha Bang)

龜 - read 3 Korean Sounds, 구(Gu), 귀(Gwi), 균(Gyun).

구미(龜尾, reads "Gu-mi") – South Korea’s Southeast local city name
귀감(龜鑑, reads "Gwi-gam") - role model
균열(龜裂, reads "Gyun-yeol") - crack

寧 - read 3 Korean Sounds, 녕(Nyeong), 령(Ryeong), 영(yeong).
Example)
안녕(安寧, reads "Annyeong") - hi
안녕하세요(安寧하세요, annyeong-haseyo") - Hello
개령(開寧, reads "Gae-Ryeong") – South Korea’s South-east Area’s local name
영일(寧日, reads "Yeong-il") – a peaceful day

樂 - read 4 Korean sounds, 낙(Nak) 락(Lak) 악(Ak) 요(yo).
Example)

The Master said, The wise find pleasure in water; the virtuous find pleasure in
hills.
공자[孔子]님 가라사대, 슬기로운 사람은 물을 좋아하고, 어진 사람은 뫼[산,山]를 좋아한다.
요산요수(樂山樂水, reads "yo-san-yo-su")

Below is Korean Hanja "龜" information.
龜
meaning: 땅이름[land name], sound : ‘구(Gu)’
meaning: 거북[turtle], sound : ‘귀(Gwi)’
meaning: 터지다[crack], sound: ‘균(Gyun)’
일본어 음독(日本語 音読み): キ, キュウ, キン
일본어 음독(日本語 訓読み): かめ
한어병음(漢語拼音, Pinyin): guī, qiū, jūn
주음부호(注音符號, Bopomofo): ㄍㄨㄟ,ㄑㄧㄡ, ㄐㄩㄣ
Example)
구미(龜尾, reads "Gu-mi") – South Korea’s Southeast local city name
귀감(龜鑑, reads "Gwi-gam") - role model
균열(龜裂, reads "Gyun-yeol") - crack

Steps to Reproduce:
- input a Hanja(한자/漢字) Character "龜" then, Choose Tools - Language -
Hangul/Hanja Conversion , shows only "균"
Expected result: shows three sounds, "구", "귀", "균" on list

1. input a Hanja(한자/漢字) Character "龜"
2. Choose Tools - Language - Hangul/Hanja Conversion
3. result: shows only "균"

Actual Results:

file prepared from my side

I saw the issue by making this file.
The Date/time formats are not displaied on the diagram.
I got the right formating in X Axis by editing the chart(double click on the
chart), right click to select the X axis and select "Format Axis..." in
contextual menu, and choose Text in Scale Type. Thats all.
Another way is shown on the second sheet. You ave to format your date as
standard Number and next to change X axis format Number to Date and time
according format.
I have to verify some little thinks and I come back to confirm the bug.

I don't like the idea of showing all non-western options in all dialogs also in
Western UI/document languages. It increases the mass of options for users they
don't need it and may be confused.

Also removing the options controls and only showing these controls when
clicking in complex text isn't perfect as I sometimes need to define CJK/RTL
character options in some styles regardless if there is Chinese text in the
current document.

If the user is using LibreOffice with western UI or has deactivated the
visibility of CJK/RTL controls and is writing or clicking in such text, then an
infobar prompt can be shown, informing the user that more text controls can be
activated and pushing him/her to the options dialog and to the help page. A
modal dialog shouldn't be used as users don't read it and close it without
reading/understanding.

I tried bibisecting the zoom in & out thing, but the CPU % used are so close to
each other and the method is so unscientific that it was impossible to get a
worthy result. I actually got a result that a commit "was both good and bad".

Thus I don't know if it makes sense to keep the request to bibisect as the
other problems are gone anyway.

Smooth vertical and horizontal scrolling should be the default and only way to
scroll.

It took me time to understand why I was always lost when navigating in Libre
Office -> it's because scrolling. I did some test with different users, they
all lost a considerable amount of time compared to other spreadsheet system due
to this problem.

It still remains though that if you want to see a change in the beamer grid
after changing the character set configuration for an ODB datassource the only
way is to disconnect and then reconnect by clicking on the Tables or Queries
entry in the Database tree view.

The same is true for the Base UI. After the connection is created a change to
that configuration property will not affect the open connection. The refresh
table operation will not update the connection object for this property either.
The only option to see the change in a table grid is to drop and recreate the
default connection with a macro or the easier, close and reopen the file.

In the beamer there are separate connection objects created it appears for
viewing data in the beamer grid versus dragging (inserting) data into the sheet
and that would explain why the change is picked up there.

Since a .CSV File datasource type lists all .csv files in a directory as tables
it might be easy to see how a disconnect_reconnect feature would be useful
feature.

Perhaps not just with a UI exposure at the Beamer but in the Base UI also.

Setting the enhancement requests and status to new

Well, usually it says at least 0.12, but very occasionally I've seen .17 and
then after a while it will report .12 instead. Anyway, the change from 120% was
a 4.4 commit
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=c12a78e42e1cbaaf4ea021c82acbec5ea177b1f6

The setting comes from the "Text Body" paragraph style, which is a built-in
style so probably related to StyleSheetTable_Impl::SetPropertiesToDefault.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118471] Sort button sorting also the first row

2018-06-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118471

Cannot reproduce with Version: 6.0.5.2 (x64)
Build ID: 54c8cbb85f300ac59db32fe8a675ff7683cd5a16
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default;
Locale: ru-RU (ru_RU); Calc: CL

with steps:

1. Create a new spreadsheet
2. In A1-A5 enter: a, 1, 2, 3, 4
3. In B1-B5 enter: b, 4, 3, 2, 1
4. Select columns A:B
5. Sort using "Sort Ascending"/"Sort Descending" toolbar buttons.

The "a" and "b" labels stay on top. It seems that no settings (in
Options→LibreOffice Calc→Calculate, as well as in Sort... dialog) influence
this.

A screencast is at http://youtu.be/4-QJ7xR6plw?hd=1.

Possibly some data is missing, like a specific locale, or details on the labels
content that might influence the detection.

Confirmed!

LO 5.4 and above do not support kerning of "Bahnschrift" 2.00 font.

LO does not support kerning of font „Bahnschrift“ 2.00. LO is affected of the
kerning issue since 5.4.
The old release 1.00 still works with the latest release of LO!
Issue can be reproduced with Win 7.

(Microsoft supplied font „Bahnschrift“ 1.00 to all Win 10 systems with fall
2017 update. In following Win 10 update [May 2018], they released „Bahnschrift“
2.00.)

Reproduction of issue:

1. Run Windows 10 (with May 2018 update)
2. Start Writer (LO 5.4 or later)
3. Choose font „Bahnschrift“
4. Type something
-> No kerning of Bahnschrift (2.00)

The first version to have this issue with Bahnschrift 2.00 is LO 5.4.
LO 5.3 works with 2.00 and 1.00. Every LO release (up to 6.5 alpha) works with
version 1.00.

With the default VCL backend in the Linux 43all bibisect repo builds, the
toolbar icons flicker on resize already in the oldest commit (3.5.0).
With gen VCL backend I got a very rare flicker in the latest build, but I would
not call this bibisectable.

verified with Ubuntu 18.04 and 6.2 Alpha0 build on 6-28

Used the example.odb file from the attachment and started LibreOffice as
described, entered the URL exactly as shown in the issue.

The error generated is:
firebird_sdbc error:
*I/O error during "open O_CREAT" operation for file
"/home/drew/Desktop/libreofficedev6.2/program/example.fdb"
*Error while trying to create file
*File exists
caused by
'isc_create_database'

the URL was translated to the correct file path, but as it says it is not
finding it. The example.fdb is in that directory and can be updated (no rights
issue).

So, open the connection properties and change the url from "file://example.fdb"
to "file:///home/drew/Desktop/libreofficedev6.2/program/example.fdb" and of
course all is good.

The ok works perfect. If you click in say the second row and then click OK the
"Companies" form will receive the registration number from the first column of
the selected row and will print 1: plus the registration number to the text box
on the right of "Test Dialog Grid" button.

But the listener (a def inside the python class SomeListener) was supposed to
show this "selected number" inside the dialog box instead of "HAS DATA" that
shows initially.

I do reproduce this with latest master on Linux (gtk3).

Note: the comment trace is a multigenerational issue. Already in the oldest
commit of Linux 43all repo (3.5.0), the comments leave a very faint horizontal
line that you almost do not notice. At some point, the boxes also leave a
vertical trace. Then, surprisingly, there was a moment in 4.1.0.0alpha0+
commits where no traces were left at all (this is before the problem in this
report appeared).

I bibisected marking "bad" the builds which showed the black horizontal line.
The range given was
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/log/?qt=range=fff4d120866a0be3cd8185f2c67bb9f59b1a6a3f...fd84daf696a368c2c7561b5253b32a63ecdeca4a

I do not notice anything immediately suspicious in the range.

example: If I could confirm problem (1), can't confirm problem (2) and find a
duplicate for problem (3) what's the status of the bug. So please open new bug
reports. Have you checked for duplicates?
