** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 88002] EDITING: Sorting ignores end column with formatting only

andrehe changed:

I suggest that sort has been optimized to not reorder empty cells, and a cell
with only formatting is considered to be an empty cell which is the problem.
The example shows that formatting is not forgotten during reordering, just that
this step is skipped with a cell lacking content.

I noticed this when looking at why the bitmap and pattern preview don't work in
the area tab page.

Patches sent for these seem to resolve this interaction between bitmap and
pattern settings.

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118980

I think the "do and redo" way is very good.. I mean, used to be very good...

like "CRTL+i" italic.. then "CRTL+i again, and the italic has gone :)
same with f12... and f12 again...

now I use CRTL+i to assign "emphasis".. but how do I revoke it?
to be able to revoke it by hitting CRTL+i again would be very a comfortable
way...

and in this case (assuming that both EM and strong AND the list styles will
work the same way) NO "clear list style" button would be needed...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118982] New: EDITING Menu items related to rows resp. columns in Menu Table resp. in Tools icons Row/Column do not fit completele the selectiondo not fit

2018-07-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118982

Bug ID: 118982
Summary: EDITING Menu items related to rows resp. columns in
Menu Table resp. in Tools icons Row/Column do not fit
completele the selectiondo not fit
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.1.0.0.beta1+
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: stefan_lange...@t-online.de

When in a sheet document a row is selected, in menu "Table" -> menu item
"Insert Columns" both subitems ("to the left" and "to the right") are disabled
resp. in the "Columns" tool icon entry list (when clicked on the arrow) not
shown, but menu item "Delete column" is enabled resp. entry is shown in the
"Columns" tool icon entry list (arrow).
Analogous behavior but vice versa, when a row is selected!

I don't know if this is so designed but IMHO it is not good, because there is a
risk that wrong or inappropriate actions will be carried out.
I had had big problems myself when I had selected a row to delete it but in
error I have clicked on "Delete columns" instead of on "Delete rows" and all
cells were deleted and formulas on other sheets related to the "cleared" sheet
were damaged and were not restored at "Undo" (--> other bug -> will be reported
soon).

tested with
Version: 6.1.0.2 (x64)
Build-ID: b3972dcf1284967612d5ee04fea9d15bcf0cc106
CPU-Threads: 4; BS: Windows 10.0; UI-Render: Standard;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE); Calc: CL

Reproducing the behavior:
- create an empty sheet document
- select a row and look to column related menu items in the "Table" menu and to
the entries in the "Columns" tool icon entry list
- select a column and look to row related menu items in the "Table" menu and to
the entries in the "Rows" tool icon entry list

When opening LO, the complete look is changed somewhat. It looks as if the font
used for LO isn't used correctly as it looks rather thin.
When going back to a previous version (LO6.1 Alpha) which uses the same
profile, it looks fine again.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Upgrade to latest daily
2. Open LO.
3.

Actual Results:
Looks odd.

Expected Results:
Looks good.

the other way to revoke a "list style" could be like the old way, which
actually works beautifully... that you click on the list style again, and it
disappears..

and accordingly, hit shift+f12 again.. and it disappears..

BUT... if it is solved like this... then the same route should be applied to
"EM", "strong", and the 2 others in the other radio button set, too :)
the "clicking it again" method...

personally, I think a universal clearing method is better... like the "CRTL+m"
used to be for direct formatting...

(I do hope I didn't misunderstood something :))

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118980] New: STYLES list type -- no "clear list" or "no list style" option (yet) / formatting

2018-07-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118980

Bug ID: 118980
Summary: STYLES list type -- no "clear list" or "no list style"
option (yet) / formatting
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: j...@cspv.hu

Description:
this problem is absolutely analogous to direct formatting "italic" and "bold"
and applying the style "emphasis" and "strong"...

the resolution of these two should be the same.. logically..

applying a list formatting to a section actually WORKS as expected :) :)
cause no matter if you give it a list style through "styles" or "direct
formatting" (say, shift+f12)... hitting shift+f12 again will revoke it!! :) :)
and it is gorgeous :)

still, if you do not attempt top revoke the formatting by hitting "shift+f12",
AND if you do not have the OLD direct formatting toolbar, you would be
surprised.. cause you cannot revoke it...

therefore, just like "default character" or "no character style", or "clear
character style" menu item, there should be a "no list" button (and menu item
in the menu), too, by which to revoke the list styling...

sorry if I, again, misunderstood something... :)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. select a line and hit "bullet list style" in styles toolbar
2. try to revoke it
3.

Actual Results:
you can't...

you can't find a button next to the buttons by which you apply a list style
formatting to the text...

you can't clear it with "default character" either.. (nevertheless, I wouldn't
expect to be able to do that like this)

you can clear it by hitting the direct formatting "list" icon... (pleasant
surprise, perhaps the "EM" / "italic" and "strong" / "bold" should work like
this, too.. "clearable" by the direct formatting "clear".. BUT.. perhaps not..

Expected Results:
I would expect a button before the first "list style" button to be there by
which to clear it... "no list"...

  Reporter: j...@cspv.hu

Description:
this problem (that comes from direct formatting "bold" applied alongside "EM")
has been there for ages.. but now with the appearance of the gorgeous Styles
toolbar, it needs to be resolved...

the problem is demonstrated below NOT in 3 steps,
but in 3 different, independent versions...

so, step one is ONE demonstration, step 2 is another one, too, and step 3,
too..

Steps to Reproduce:
1. You open a doc, type 3 words, or 1, apply "emphasis" to them from Styles
toolbar or menu

2. You click in Direct formatting toolbar "Ax", to clear styles

3. alternatively, You click "A" again (2nd time) in direct formatting toolbar

Actual Results:
1. -- result: the direct formatting toolbar's "a" as "italic" is set active...

2. -- result: nothing happens

3. -- result: it becomes clear.. the direct formatting "a" as "italic" is set
to inactive, BUT "Em", or in 6.2 alpha "E", stays active, and the text
selection remains "italic".. "emphasis-ed" ...

Expected Results:
1. -- expected: direct formatting "a" as "italic" should be LOWER CASE, and
should NOT be set active by the style's "Em"...

2. -- the direct formatting "italic" should be cleared (but it stays active)

3. -- it should NOT be active in the first place.. but now that it is active,
it should be CLEARED by "ax" (clear direct formatting)... and EM shuld be
cleared, too... and the applied "emphasis" should be cleared... which is not so
wise...
so, I guess, it should NOT be set active...

Mike, look at this bug please. For me it looks as result doesn't auto
recalculate when we delete data in cells in mode "change tracking".
Important: delete data should another author!
ps: if we accept all changes, then result will be wrong whatever.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118978] New: EM (emphasis) and "bold" and default character in styles menu and styles toolbar

2018-07-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118978

Bug ID: 118978
Summary: EM (emphasis) and "bold" and default character in
styles menu and styles toolbar
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: j...@cspv.hu

Description:
hi,

I was not particularly impressed by the fact that a "Styles" menu appeared, BUT
I am totally so by the Styles toolbar (!!! awesome)... I am, too, an HTML5
believer... also believing the LiO should produce a beautiful, intelligent and
clean HTML output whenever it comes to that...

#1- - - The Styles menu
 #1/a
there should be a separator above "Default Character"
and one below "Source text" ..

and the list types should be separated like this, too...

why? cause it is 2 radio button sets.. so to speak..

 #1/b
the title "Default Character" could be replaced with something else...
like "no style for the character(s)", to mention something ridiculous :)

BUT it would be even better to name it so that it would suggest "CLEAN style"
Cleaning the styles...

this would be logical cause this is the way you can actually REVOKE the
style...
"CLEAR character style", another candidate :)

#2 - - - the Styles toolbar

  #2/a
letter "A" is misleading...
EM still is informative, but "E" alone, like in 6.2.alpha, is totally not...
A and E seem to be something of the same type...
whereas, "A" cleans off the assigned style... it is not a style but an eraser
:)
(it is a style, I know, but both as default style and in terms of if some code
needs to be added, we can say that it is "WITHOUT a style", whereas the other
3 assign a style)

so, A should be, I think renamed to "C" (like clean or clear or no style)

we have to consider, also, that if there was a "clear all styles off these
characters, it would do the same as "default character"

- - - - - the other two suggestions are actually "bugs" in terms of behavior
other than expected... so I'll file them independently...

Steps to Reproduce:
1. drop down "Styles" menu
2. try to determine which items are in one radio button group
3.

Actual Results:
 you have to try

Expected Results:
you should see -- it should be indicated

Reproducible: Always

That is fine, but it requires we rework the templates. Issue here is a simple
fix to restore consistency until the templates could be scrubbed.

There are advantages to not tweaking the Default style (e.g. bug 113517) and
moving instead to template controlling the Text Body metrics (bug 94464), but
until we can restructure the standard template(s) to use values of Text
Body--the behavior as here of using Text Body style on clearing styles, rather
than Default style is wrong.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70759] Apply Style toolbar "Clear formatting" action sets "Text Body" instead of "Default Style" from LO 4.1+

2018-07-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70759

This issue remains. We apply a Text Body paragraph style when using the "Clear
formatting" action from the Apply Styles droplist of the Formatting toolbar.

Correct action should be to apply Default Style to restore paragraph to match
default format when creating paragraphs as from standard template.

Hey @Samuel, in hindsight, your thought on now restoring a Default (Standard
template) derived style result? Removing Style and ending with non-defaults as
a style is not logical. If it is a simple as restoring the "Standard" to the
top of the list in tbcontrl.cxx seems like we should. And if we ever move to a
Text Body style by default (needing template changes) can realign then.

Also, strongly suggest when needing to look at the formatting applied to ODF
(our only "natively" supported file format) that you save to so called "flat
ODF" as that will let you review both the document textual content and the
styling/formatting being applied. Save-as a flat ODF generates a complete
single XML structured document, much easier than jumping around inside the ODF
zip archive for configuration and content.

You _can_ do this simply now. Select the paragraph with the errant formatting
(with mix of styles and direct formatting), first clear the Direct Formatting
with Format -> Clear Direct Formattingn (+M). Then with selection still in
place, from the Sidebar's Style Deck (F11), pick the Character Styles (the A
icon) and apply (double click) Default Style. Do the same from the Paragraph
Styles (the Pilcrow) apply Default Style (double click).

All text in the selected paragraph will be formatted with only the attributes
of the Default paragraph style.

An .uno command to do this exactly might be of use, but it is pretty simple to
accomplish now without it.

2018-07-28 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118764

According to gitk the change that required this patch
Follows: libreoffice-6-0-branch-point
Precedes: libreoffice-6-1-branch-point

I see there are two branches for 6.1, libre-office-6-1 and libre-office-6-1-0.

Do I apply the patch to these and then logerrit submit ?
