This problem is solved by :
1. Launch LibreOffice the first time without applying the localization
translation.
2. Apply the localization

MacOS X protection can check the origin and validate only the original
(english) application.
When LibreOffice was localized (translated), MacOS X Cannot check the
application and so fail to launch it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120473] New: SIDEBAR: Proposal for panel tab navigation behavior change

2018-10-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120473

Bug ID: 120473
Summary: SIDEBAR: Proposal for panel tab navigation behavior
change
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: UI
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rayk...@gmail.com

There is an inconsistency between the way tab navigation behaves before and
after a panel title bar gets focus.

To reproduce this in Writer:

1) Open sidebar Menu->View->Sidebar
2) click on Page tab in sidebar tab bar
3) click on Number combobox in Styles panel (must be direct click on combobox,
no click on Styles title to expand panel)
4) press tab key to tab through each item in the panel content until returning
to the Number combobox
5) press shift+tab key to reverse tab through each item

Notice tab cycle does not enter panel title tab bar.

6) click on Styles title or press Escape key (focus is now on Styles title)
7) press tab key (focus is now on Styles panel title bar tool box)
8) press tab key (focus is now in panel content Number combobox)
9) press tab key until focus is on Columns combobox
10) press tab key

Notice focus returns to Styles title.

So far this doesn't seem bad but it isn't consistent.

Even less consistent/expectant is when shift+tab is used to move through panel
content after panel title bar gets focus.

11) click on Styles title
12) press shift+tab key (focus moves to Number combobox, user may expect focus
to move to Columns combobox)
13) press shift+tab key (focus moves to Columns combobox)
14) press shift+tab key (focus moves to Layout combobox, expected)
15) press shift+tab key (focus moves to Background combobox, expected)
16) press shift+tab key (focus moves to Styles panel title, jumps over the
first combobox in panel and over panel tool box)

I would like to propose that after entering a panel content in any way, tab
navigation behaves as in steps 4 and 5 and panel title tab bar is not included
in tab stops. To move focus to the panel title bar use the Escape key or mouse
click on the panel title bar.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Yes, this happens because templates are actually empty regular
document/spreadsheet/presentation files with a set language, which is German.
To meet the expected behavior, proper template management has to be
implemented.

The slowness is caused by the single paragraph structure (I reported that some
in the past). Fixed be adding some new paragraphs to the document.. but doesn't

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 119937] Rotation of an image by 90 degrees as Character Anchor does not alter frame correctly

2018-10-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=119937

I am sorry, I am not experienced with filing bugs and my comments got lost when
I attached the file

Please don't close the bug

I have copied your image from the example file into an .odt file anchored as a
character on the page, not within an HTML frame, but the image has its own
"frame" around it represented by a grey rectangle.

I copied the image twice producing 3 versions.

I opened the file in LibreOffice 5.2.7.2 on MacOS Yosemite and rotated the
second image left, it rotates correctly.

I saved, closed and opened the file in LibreOffice 6.0.6.2 on Windows 7 (though
it doesn the same in version 6 on Mac) and rotated the third image left, it
incorrectly crops the image as can be seen in the example file.

Please, this is a serious issue for me, do not close the bug.

I am sorry if my ignorance means I did not use the correct terms in my original
description.

Sincerely,

Robert Gibbs

> whole paragraph, the shape stays anchored to the empty paragraph.

Well - technically you are not moving the paragraph, but split the existing
one, creating *a new following paragraph* with the contents from previous...
thus it's strictly speaking correct that all paragraph anchors continue to
point to the paragraph object that has lost its content, but not its
identity...

I see the point from user's PoV though.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120469] New: Object anchored to paragraph doesn't move if an enter is inserted at the beginning of the paragraph

2018-10-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120469

Bug ID: 120469
Summary: Object anchored to paragraph doesn't move if an enter
is inserted at the beginning of the paragraph
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Inherited From OOo
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ba...@caesar.elte.hu
CC: vmik...@collabora.co.uk
Blocks: 87740

Created attachment 145541
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=145541=edit
Sample ODT

In the attached document the shape is anchored to the 3rd paragraph ("33 33").
If you press enter at the beginning of the paragraph, essentially moving the
whole paragraph, the shape stays anchored to the empty paragraph.

To me the straightforward behavior would be that if the whole paragraph is
moved down, the object stays anchored to the moved paragraph, not to the empty
new one beforehand. It's also how Word behaves.

Could we consider switching to this behavior, or are there reasons to stick to
the existing one? Miklos, what are your thoughts?

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120225

Note that the round-tripped file does not open well in Word 2016, even though
LO seems to handle it fine, and it isn't nearly that bad in Word 2003. In
2016, the entire reference section is missing.

Considering all the corporate desire mentioned in the 2013 wiki announcement of
inline forms (https://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/Writer/Input_Fields) this area
sure has lousy interoperability, but I guess that is not surprising given MS
lack of performance on the same document.

Originally they were OK but when I upgraded (sic) they vanished.

Therefore I cannot send any graphics because there aren't any. If there were I
wouldn't have gone thru' all this for nothing (or so it seems). MS is much much
better.

Might be interesting to watch.

There is a method to capture stuff, but it requires a debug build, which we are
currently lacking for Windows.
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/How_to_debug#Macros_Controlling_Debug_Code
https://docs.libreoffice.org/sal/html/sal_log.html

If one were to do
SAL_LOG=1 libreoffice 2>&1 | tee log.txt

it would log everything that can be logged.

Additional behavior observation note:
1) Select a navigation pane line item at either vertical extreme in the tree
display in the navigation pane. This should highlight the line item.
2) Grab (left click & hold) the NP scroll bar slider.
3) Vertically move the slider until the selected line item is off the pane.
4) Hold (continue left mouse button down), do not release the slider.
5) In a moment, the slider acts as if it has lost mouse focus then re-positions
to bring the selected line item back in sight.

I should be able to produce a video demo as I have done for prior dynamic
behavior bugs I have reported. The question is: is there a point to doing so if
others cannot reproduce? Is there an method for capturing some useful log of
the UI event loop?

R

Reproduced, but it has never behaved like you claim. It does resize the frame
in older versions, but not correctly. The height of the frame is reduced, but
the width is not increased. This makes the image cropped even in older
versions.

Thus I hesitate to call this a regression. Anyway, bibisected on Windows to
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=3919d87210ea12ed3166c649ac52730026db01a4

The oldest code has the comment
//#i84870# - no shrink of text frame, if it only contains one as-character
anchored object.

So apparently the non-shrinking behaviour has at one point been thought to be
correct.

Adding Xisco and Björn to hear from them. Should this report be closed?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120465] New: The sheet event 'Content changed' is not raised if an array-formula was edited.

2018-10-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120465

Bug ID: 120465
Summary: The sheet event 'Content changed' is not raised if an
array-formula was edited.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.3.0 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Calc
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: j...@psilosoph.de

Created attachment 145540
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=145540=edit
The demo announced in the report.

If the sheet event 'Content changed' (so described in the dialog) got assigned
a user Sub, this Sub is (shoud be) called everytime something was edited in the
sheet. (The event should be renamed "Content edited" as it also is raised if
editing results in unchanged content.)

This works with entereing, deleting, editing any content of type text or
number.
It also works if ordinary formulas are edited, if "=sqrt(2)" gets replaced with
"=PI()" e.g.

The routine is NOT called if a formula for array-evaluation is entered or
edited.
(Del and Undo are a different thing in this case.)
This even holds if a formula is/was unnecessarily entered for array evaluation,
and does not lock an output range.

The attached example contains a extremely simple Sub assigned to the mentioned
event.

Edit any of the formulas therein to verify may claim for all the mentioned
cases.

This is "heritage". I even created the example with V3.3.
However, I stumbled over the behaviour using V6.1.1.2. (release)

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 120464] New: Creating a new Heading style from standard Heading N style does not copy outline level

2018-10-09 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120464

Bug ID: 120464
Summary: Creating a new Heading style from standard Heading N
style does not copy outline level
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com

When creating a new paragraph style based on a pre-existing Heading N style
(or, generally, on a style which is used in Chapter Numbering), the newly
created style does not have the parent's outline level (it has "Body text"
level). It's natural that participation in Chapter Numbering cannot be
inherited; but the level itself should.

The problem here is that users don't expect *some* property of heading styles
to not be inherited, and are confused not seeing the newly created styles in
Navigator/ToC etc. Also, maintaining the structure could be more difficult in
case of changing the level, because children styles need to be modified
separately.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a new text document.
2. Make sure that Heading 1 is used in Chapter Numbering function.
3. Right-click the Heading 1 style in Styles sidebar pane, and choose New...

Actual:
On the Outline & Numbering page, see that outline level is Body text.

Expected:
The outline level is the same that Heading 1 has. If Heading 1 outline level
changes (e.g., editing Chapter Numbering), children that haven't overridden the
setting explicitly should also get the change.
