** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Ctrl-space can switch between English and Chinese input mode.
Ctrl-Alt-1, Ctrl-Alt-3, ... can directly switch to certain Chinese input
method, and then Ctrl-space can switch back to English.

BTW, that's why the shortcut key "Ctrl-space" in Calc can not be used in CJK
because it conflicts with our input method engine. But that's another topic.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 100961] After inserting Fixed Date, and saving in DOC format, the date is not fixed anymore

2019-01-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100961

Saving a test document to DOCX results in correct roundtrip (wrt this specific
issue that is about const-ness of fields); Word also opens the generated DOCX
with fields in it, having const values. Then, you can save the DOCX to DOC
using Word, and get a DOC with const fields - so the DOC format supports the
const date/time fields. But opening the resulting DOC (generated by Word) using
LO gives non-const date/time fields - so it's at least import filter issue.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122499] New: Reopening document changed & superimposed content

2019-01-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122499

Bug ID: 122499
Summary: Reopening document changed & superimposed content
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: dpen...@gmail.com

I was making a document principally by copying and pasting blocks of text from
pages using the Brave browser. Each block of text was spellchecked, then
converted to my preferred font, text size, and paragraph formatting immediately
after pasting.
After sleeping the computer, on waking and reopening the document a block of
text in the original font and formatting when copied is superimposed on another
portion of the text. It was not the most recent item on the clipboard. Trying
to put the cursor after lines of the misplaced text does nothing. It did not
change after closing and reopening the document. It carries over into the print
preview. "Track Changes" is mostly grayed out. Re-sleeping did not change it
either. It has been autosaved several times before this happened.
I have no idea how to fix, or troubleshoot it. Not knowing how it occurred and
never having seen it before, I don't know how to reproduce it for a test
document.
Please note that due to sensitive proprietary content in the document I cannot
submit the original.
Should it reoccur in another document I will submit it if possible.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 50699] Template Changer: Allow ability to change a document's associated template

2019-01-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50699

The main reasons to relink a document to the a different template (besides the
ones where it doesn't link to a new change -- and I've definitely had template
links get broken even with the template still exists) if you occasionally
change your default template and want old documents to be easily updated to the
new format.

Currently, that involves:

1. load the styles from another document
2. create a document from the new template
3. copy and paste over so that the correct styles are supplied

If you just copy and paste the text over, you either keep the old text (because
it keeps the extra formatting on top of the style version) or you past
unformatted, but then you need to go back and fix everything.

For me, I run a small business, and there are times when I want to keep a
document linked to header from a specific time, but then easily copy the
document over and update to the new header as well. Think for things like
generating reports and such. I need to keep both header templates around, not
just change the base one.

As mentioned, writer and Impress probably need this the most, but other apps
can benefit from it as well. And seeing as how the basic functionality is
already in LibO (since it can update styles) and it would help give parity to
Word/MS Office (which can use Quick Styles which is essentially super fast
template switching with preview -- but there is an enhancement request for
that), I don't see why there so much against this request.

I would also like to see this. StartCenter is useful, as it alows drag-and-drop
of files from dolphin/nautius and opens the correct libreoffice component. It
also shows the recent document list with previews.

The bug is from 2014, there are duplicates. Some people seem to want it. It
probably would take a programmer a very modest amount of time.

As it seems everything is already in place. There just should be a command line
parameter for startcenter as there is for writer, calc and every other
component.

For me, Dolphin does show details, s. attached screenshot. I'm using Dolphin
18.08 on Debian testing. What is your dolphin version? It may well be that
Dolphin itself uses some other plugin or library to retrieve the corresponding
information.

In any way, what Dolphin shows (or does not show) here is outside of the
control of LibreOffice...
I'm therefore closing this bug report as "RESOLVED NOTOURBUG".

I agree with you, Regina. Fontwork should be treated like other shapes. Hiko, I
think arguments are needed to treat them different, not to treat them equal. So
I think this topic should be discussed in the design meeting (see also similar
bug 122445 regarding grouped shapes)

However, in the meantime I managed to reproduce the bug with other input

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 122494] New: Cannot change text orientation of x-axis labels

2019-01-04 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122494

Bug ID: 122494
Summary: Cannot change text orientation of x-axis labels
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED

Chart with date axis labels, which need label rotation

Open attached document. Set the chart into edit mode. Call Format dialog for
x-axis, tab 'Label'.
Notice, it is not possible to set text orientation. It uses the angle, which
was set by older versions.

I see the error in Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)
Build ID: 6baca63b44bf7f75a522b1adc4b4bbce502aec3b

Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: threaded
In addition, in this version the 'Text direction' drop down list is missing. In
later versions it is there again.

The last version on my pc, which is OK, is Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64)

  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Impress
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: shanchathusa...@gmail.com

Description:
I am using Libre impress for my presentations and I want to get the
presentation notes at the rehearsal time without plug in a second monitor. I
raised a question
https://askubuntu.com/questions/1106567/presenter-notes-in-libre-impress?noredirect=1#comment1826099_1106567
too. It seems like this isn't available currently but as my opinion it must be
there. So I propose that feature as a new improvement for the Libre Impress.
Thanks.

Actual Results:
Need to add this as a new feature to Libre Impress.

Expected Results:
Presenter notes in rehearsal timing.
